FEBRUARY 2010

FRIDAY FEBRUARY 26, 2010 10:30 PM (PT) Trivia answers are up as are Bumper Stumpers (click on "Trivia" and "Music" to your left). Have a happy weekend. I'll be back Monday night to depress the hell out of you, I'm sure.

FRIDAY FEBRUARY 26, 2010 12:01 AM (PT) Trivia tonight. 3 hours of it. Plan on calling. I'll be ready for you.

If you missed Tom Cryer last night, the interview is up under MyStreamingServer.com Check out his TruthAttack.org and if you're near Memphis this weekend, consider going to the Free Enterprise Society Seminar "What The Government doesn't Want You To Know About The IRS!". Click on it for details.

Think gold is the only "real" investment? You're right if you take physical possession of the metal. Unfortunately it just became easy to trade in it without ever coming close to buying the real deal. The Comex rules now state essentially that paper is the same as gold. It's an alchemist's dream, a speculator's vehicle but an investor's nightmare.

If you think we've got economic problems now, just wait til 2012. In the two years that ensue 90% of outstanding corporate loans will mature and the likelihood that these companies can pay or refinance in many cases is nil. Concerns, too, over China's sale of US bonds, but that's not the most of our worries. Jobs are, and even Bernanke says unemployment will last. Here are 10 job sectors that will continue to decline and what you can do about it if you're working in one of them.

Obamacare on display today-- the bipartisan health talks were anything but. The dems won't budge and the GOP won't either, thankfully. So now Obama threatens he'll get it passed without the republicans or the voters. Here's what may happen. Reconciliation? Putting the bill under a bill that must be passed (which hopefully the Republicans won't pass)? Passing it piecemeal? Offering a smaller bill? Talk of that was played down before the summit but it won't be now. In the end, a smaller bill or no bill, while better than Obamacare, remains a time bomb. We need to remove cost-shifting, insurance mandates and a host of other things that make health care unaffordable. Without that, time alone will have people clamoring for a government take over. But hopefully not this one.

Interesting to note that Obama shelves some of the bill's terms until after he's out of office-- even if he's reelected.

Then there's another NHS horror. A girl complaining of tremendous pain in her knee. She was told four different times by four different doctors over three months that it was growing pains. They dismissed her symptoms without investigation. Turns out it was cancer and a leg that could have been saved had to be amputated last month. If cost saving methodology wasn't used, would she have been referred to a specialist when she first came in? Would tests be done after that first visit? You know the answers and now a teen will live with them. Worry when any government talks about cost savings with regard to your medical care. It always means rationing. And even if 95% of the tests turn out to be necessary, if you're the case where they weren't, the delay may cost you dearly.

THURSDAY FEBRUARY 25, 2010 12:01 AM (PT) Idiots in the news: Obama's top aide thinks the Tea Partiers just need a 'simple booklet' to educate them. Word to Valerie Jarrett: The Tea Party crowd has that simple booklet-- it's called the constitution. You may wish to read it. Valerie's booklet on the other hand would explain in simple terms why Obamacare is good. I have a set of terms for Ms. Garrett but I can't utter 'em in good taste. Read her condescending rhetoric here.

But the idiots are not confined to the left. The Governator, Arnold, dismisses the Tea Parties as "just an expression of anger and dissatisfaction. Has Mr. Schwarzenegger stopped to notice that also defines the basis for war, such as the one that resulted in the founding of America. Maybe he needs a booklet.

No one more eloquent to speak up against socialized medicine than the Premier of Newfoundland. He didn't intentionally kill the concept of government health care which he oh so loves with this, but he did it none the less. When defending his right to seek care in the US, he said: This is my heart, it's my health, it's my choice. Yes indeedy but unfortunately Canadian citizens don't have that choice now do they?

If the democrats have anything to say about it, Americans won't have that choice either. And if they can't pass Obamacare in one fell swoop, they're willing to do it proudly by peacemeal. They were also willing to violate the spending rules they passed just a couple of weeks ago to get the jobs bill through. This was quick.

Speaking of quick, the widow of the IRS worker killed by Joe Stack's plane has filed a suit against his widow, Sheryl Mann Stack. The logic is that Sheryl had a duty to warn others about her husband's state of mind. It's a long shot to prove she had any idea of such, so the reasons for the lawsuit are probably found elsewhere. Certainly it's a fishing expedition for what assets and insurance payouts Joe leaves behind, but the part about keeping the IRS worker's autopsy report secret raises an eyebrow.

Warren Buffet's long time business partner, Charlie Munger, has written a parable: Basicland. It parallels America's economic woes, and the bottom line: it's over for the US. So how far will some municipalities go to raise cash? Los Angeles expects to crack down on unlicensed dogs and raise $3.6 million. They've got 8 full time workers and a city owned utility company on the case. Obama likes that raising money from taxes idea. He says that's the quick fix to what ails social security.

Bad enough you're seeing census commercials in the superbowl (at taxpayer expense). Now you're reading about it in fortune cookies. I never read the messages anyway and on a few occasions accidentally consumed them with the cookie. Consuming this will lead to indigestion.

The woes of Arrow Trucking continue. Now the CEO claims he had no idea they were in such bad shape. None at all. (Let me reference a previous link that may discredit that notion.) And if it isn't bad enough for drivers, US trade representative Ron Kirk, instead of telling Mexico that they have to shape up in order to even be considered for the cross-border program, is saying we can eliminate their tariffs by restarting it now. Nevermind all the problems like safety, security and environmental regulations. Just the economics alone is upside down for us. Mexican drivers don't have to contend with the same regulations or compliance costs. Hours of service? Unheard of across the border. CDL? Hardly. But the heck with that, we need to get rid of those tariffs. Oh yeah, nevermind that the tariffs may violate NAFTA. And forget about the violence. Not worried, 4-wheelers? You haven't shared the road with these folks. But you will.

That a woman shot at (and missed) her husband for not sharing part of his tax return with her is not news. That she feels the shooting is more than justified is of interest. I'm sure she's not alone as frustration boils over into violence more by the day. Speaking of violence, a father in Phoenix ran over and killed his daughter. He's muslim, she was 'too westernized'. The death penalty will not be sought. The reasoning should bother you: because they don't want the appearance of Christians seeking to execute muslims for their beliefs. Beliefs? I thought we were trying the guy for what he did, not why he did it. But I was wrong.

But you might as well laugh, and hopefully this will do it. A collection of complaints from motorists on New Jersey's toll roads. Most toll takers are terrific but that small minority provide a lot of levity for those of us not in the vehicles beside them.

WEDNESDAY FEBRUARY 24, 2010 6:30 PM (PT) Turns out we'll have open lines all night-- with plenty on my mind. We'll reschedule Summer McStravick soon (check out the links below) and hopefully we'll have you and Tom Cryer call in tonight. The after effects of Joe Stack's plane crash into the IRS are quite disturbing-- particularly the government's positioning those who are tax protestors as being domestic terrorists. Stack is no hero for what he did and hopefully no one will follow his bad example. But to paint him an absolute villain ignores the role of the government in the growing frustration felt by many citizens. More at 7 (PT).

WEDNESDAY FEBRUARY 24, 2010 12:01 AM (PT) Given all that's going on economically and politically, I'm in need of another attitude adjustment and Summer McStravick is the perfect person to give it to me. You've probably been to her Flowdreaming.com site. Well now I can recommend first hand her downloadable Flowdreams To Fall Asleep To. I know it works. It was three nights before I was awake to hear all of cut one. Don't miss her Facebook page (just look for "Summer McStravick at facebook.com), her Flowdreaming radio show on ContactTalkRadio.com and the FlowMojoShow she does with her mom, Venus Andrecht on VIbrancetv.com. You can get personal readings off the air (info is here) but call in tonight and get a piece of her mind, gratis.

So how much will Obama's healthcare bill cost us? The CBO says 'gee I dunno'. OK, that's paraphrased what they really said was the details were too sketchy to make a guess. A trillion? More than a trillion? Who knows. Trillion's a popular word these days. That's what the Pew Center says is the shortfall on government funded pensions. Except there are a few things we don't know, but courtesy of Walter Burien we know what to ask: What is the total of funds currently under management? (If they're a trillion short on a hundred trillion in assets, that's less of a calamity than if they're a trillion short on a billion dollars worth of assets.)And, what is the actuarial projection used for the calculation of the shortfall? (If they're basing the loss on a 2.5% expected return and the return turns out to be 5%, then they're 50% off.) Hmmmm... the devil IS in the details.

High Irony: Equifax, one of the three credit bureau giants which charges a pretty penny to subscribe to its identity protection services, managed to expose the SSNs, names and addresses of its own employees. Here's what happened. If they can't get it right, who can? More Irony-- in the wake of notices that you may not get your bank deposited money when you want it the FDIC has a campaign to get you to open savings account during "America Saves" week. Try a mattress.

If anyone believes that we have escaped from the financial mess we're in, or if anyone believes the problems started in 2008, have I got news for you. Read this and weep. You'll note that the writer mentions the Glass -Steagall Act. In case you went to public school, click on it for the wiki explanation. Meanwhile a top fed official warns that jobs will continue to be scarce... ya think?

Another wave of foreclosures. And what to do if you're renting one-- good news, you've got more protection than you'll likely be told. Here's one way to avoid foreclosure: bulldoze your home. Happening more often these days.

And finally, meant to mention the lengthy sentence handed down to former NYC Police Chief Bernard Kerik-- over events which probably never would have come to the surface had he not be up for the Secretary of Homeland Security post. Be careful about what you wish.... very careful.

TUESDAY FEBRUARY 23, 2010 12:01 AM (PT) So you think Scott Brown is a conservative hero? I'm not underestimating the importance of a Republican winning the senate race in Massachusetts and it's undeniable that result has thrown a wrench into the Obama Administration's mad rush to pass healthcare and a myriad of other socialist atrocities and for that I am grateful. However, he's anything but hope to conservatives. Want proof? He crossed the aisle to vote for Reid's jobs bill. (Cloture on the motion to concur in the House amendment to the Senate amendment with Amendment #4410 to HR 2847, to be exact. And to be more exact, the turncoat Republicans were Bond (MO), Collins & Snowe (ME) and Voinovich (OH) in addition to Brown.)

Meanwhile millions of Americans won't have jobs for many years, bills or not. And that leads Harry Reid to think joblessness is increasing the incidences of domestic violence. Adding to the bad news, your house value won't increase this decade. Might decrease. Adding a conspiratorial note to the economy is the notice on Citibank account statements: We reserve the right to require seven days advance notice before permitting a withdrawal from checking, savings and money market accounts..." The bank's first response to questions was 'that only applies to Texas'.. then they admitted it was nationwide, and now is claiming the Feds ordered them to say it. Actually the latter is scariest of all.

Mad yet? Don't admit it. Psychiatrists want to call your anger a mental illness. It'll be in the latest DSM. I'll throw caution to the wind and admit I'm beyond angry about this: a school district issued laptops to each student and didn't bother to mention school employees could (and would) surreptitiously monitor their behavior (utilizing the laptop's webcam). Delighted to see the lawsuit from one family and hardly impressed with the school's specious explanation. The FBI is looking into it too. (Google at least had the decency (or hubris) to announce their decision to spy on you in 2006.)

Back to the schools-- think they're not government halls of indoctrination? Take a look at zero tolerance policies that continue to have cops come in, handcuff kids, take them away and arrest them. It's traumatic. It's also desensitization. And on any level regarding education or social decency it's insanity. Here's another such story. This time about a girl arrested for doodling on her desk (and she's not the first).

Obama puts forth his trillion dollar health care plan. Yeah, trillion. Senior care of course is heavily rationed. The pledge not to tax those families making under $250,000 is broken. And the plan is to control you and your most personal issues completely. The White House is ready to strong arm republicans, but should that fail and should the bill not pass, all that needs to happen to get everyone on board is to make private healthcare completely unaffordable. Interesting that the HHS says there'll be a spike of almost 40% on insurance premiums. That oughta do it.

Have you noticed how the guy who flew the plane into the IRS is being positioned as a danger because he was a tax protester? (Here's his full statement by the way as the FBI had his website pulled.) Why is the positioning important? That's probably a rhetorical question, but if you need it answered, here's Janet Napolitano's latest missive saying domestic extreemism is her top concern. Gotta wonder exactly who she's painting as a terrorist. Or not. But if you ask me, she should be more concerned with her own agency's habit of losing weapons. Hundreds of them.

Maybe this poll says it all: PBS is the most trusted name in news. OMG.

Looking for a good economic yardstick? Look no further than real-time diesel consumption. The truckers' index.

FRIDAY FEBRUARY 19, 2010 10:30 PM (PT) The Beach Music Show I just did with John Hook (www.beachshag.com for his wonderful site) will be streaming all weekend. No downloads will be available, sorry.

I'll be back Monday at 7 PT / 10 PT with all sorts of things on my mind. Hope you'll listen and call in. Talk to you then.

FRIDAY FEBRUARY 19, 2010 12:01 AM (PT) Tonight it's All Beach Music, All The Time on Friday Night Trivia. 'Fessa John Hook joins me to not only talk about Beach Music, but to play it as well. Check out his BeachShag.com site and download a free copy of his terrific newsletter. If you're remotely into this genre of music or have ever shagged (don't get excited UK fans-- shagging here refers to a dance seen primarily in the Carolinas), you'll be spellbound with the interviews you'll read. You'll also be able to order John's books as well as check out his radio shows. Yes, plural and as if he doesn't have enough to do he'll spend 3 hours with us on Friday. It's up to me to do the playlist, so I'll stop typing now and get to it.

We talked with Kurt Haskell in the first hour last night. It's replaying on the stream until tonight's show. If you want to download a copy, go to MyStreamingServer.com.

Here's a link to Joseph Stack's own words. He's the guy who flew the plane into the Austin IRS office. While I have no sympathy for his actions, and less for the decisions he made throughout his life, I think millions of Americans have empathy for his frustration. Increasingly people feel that they are not being heard and believe that there is no justice-- particularly no equality under the law. This didn't have to happen but things like it will continue to happen and I predict in increasing numbers.

Check out listener Michael's website, WheresObamasBirthCertificate.com. He's got a very interesting and easy way for you to spread the word about this issue.

Also check out sing4liz.com to find out about a fundraiser for Elizabeth Chalker who is suffering form Chronic debility. Karisa Nowak is hosting a number of entertainers who will appear in an online webcast for her benefit.

THURSDAY FEBRUARY 18, 2010 12:01 AM (PT) We'll spend the first hour tonight with Kurt Haskell. He's the attorney who singlehandedly got the government to change the official story on Flight 253. After that, it's two full hours with Dr. Jerome Corsi. Jerry has a better handle on what's really going on in the Obama administration than most anyone else. His research is impeccable and all of it is annotated in his books which remain the definitive argument settlers. "America For Sale" (click on it for a good price from Amazon) is a perfect example. For regularly updated info, you might want to subscribe to Jerry's Red Alert newsletter.

We talked with Dr. Joe Buchman last night about the rise and fall of the Nitecaps. That show will be on the stream until tonight's live show and will be downloadable for the foreseeable future at MyStreamingServer.com.

WEDNESDAY FEBRUARY 17, 2010 12:01 AM (PT) We'll talk with Dr. Joe Buchman tonight about the rise of the Nitecaps and the demise of America. (In other words, Joe joins me to talk to you about whatever's on your mind.)

You asked for a reprint of Kitty Werthmann's powerful first hand account of the rise of Hitler in Austria. Here it is.

Tomorrow night we'll spend an hour with Kurt Haskell. He's the attorney who singlehandedly got the government to change the official story on Flight 253. TUESDAY FEBRUARY 16, 2010 12:01 AM (PT) Great talking with Summer McStravick & Venus Andrecht a few hours ago. Links to their shows are below in the last entry, and don't forget that both Venus and Summer have Facebook pages. If you're on Facebook, please join them. Search for Venus Andrecht and Summer McStravick at Facebook.com. If you missed the show it will stream until 7 PM (PT) and will be downloadable indefinitely at MyStreamingServer.com.

Tonight we'll talk with Alex Jones in the first hour. If you've wondered about what you're not hearing on the news, rest assured you'll hear it from Alex. Check out his Infowars.com and PrisonPlanet.com. And make sure to download (free, if you like) his latest movie, "Fall of the Republic: The presidency of Barack H. Obama". You can see it now on YouTube (click on it), or better yet, click on it and buy a hard copy. You'll not only have it to pass on to others, but you'll be supporting Alex's work. To that end, consider a subscription to PrisonPlanet.tv. You'll get a lot out of it, and he'll get a few bucks towards the massive expenses in bringing you the real story. In the 2nd hour, we'll talk with Devvy Kidd-- also guaranteed to be an enlightening show. Open lines in the 3rd hour.

MONDAY FEBRUARY 15, 2010 7:30 PM (PT) Talking with Summer McStravick right now. You can hear the Flowdreaming radio show tomorrow live at 4 PM on ContactTalkRadio. You can call in too. And should you want to email her, she's kind enough to give out her email address. Click here.

And don't forget you can see Summer and her mom, Venus Andrech on The Flow Mojo Show on VibranceTV.com. Venus joins Summer with me next hour, and she'll stay on through the third hour too. Check out "Dear Venus" on ContactTalkRadio, live tomorrow at 1 PM (PT). If you can't catch the shows live, archives are available for download of everything.

FRIDAY FEBRUARY 12, 2010 10:30 PM (PT) Bumper Stumpers are up under Music, Friday Night Trivia answers are up under Trivia (both to your left). If you missed the interview with Larry Harris, you can catch it on the stream all weekend or download it yourself at MyStreamingServer.com. "And Party Every Day- The Inside Story of Casablanca Records" (click on it for a good price) is a great read. I was spellbound. Don't forget to check out CasablancaBook.com where you'll find updates including news of the upcoming movie when it's available. Thanks again to former Casablanca ace Nancy Sain for getting me together with Larry.

Lots of interviews next week. I'll be back before Monday to tell you all about it.

FRIDAY FEBRUARY 12, 2010 12:01 AM (PT) We'll talk with Larry Harris tonight in the first hour. He was an integral part of Neil Bogart's Casablanca Records and he wrote a book about it "And Party Every Day - The Inside Story of Casablanca Records" (click on it for a good price from Amazon). We'll be playing two hours of trivia after that and I'm ready for you, so do your part and call!

Not upset with the government? Then read about ACORN getting four billion dollars from Obama's 2011 budget. Think it's always the damn democrats? Here's word of John McCain's new legislation which will end your access to the dietary supplements and alternative medicines you now enjoy. Here's more about The Dietary Supplement Safety Act of 2010 which is cosponsored by Byron Dorgan who of course is leaving the senate. Hopefully McCain will be leaving with him if Arizona voters do what they should do.

Appellate court case today in Pennsylvania. At stake is your privacy. Can the government track you via your cell phone without your knowledge? They say yes, but many say no. The most cogent argument? Unlike walking down a public street, your expectation of privacy is not knowingly waived because you've got a cell phone.

What I don't know: how many chiefs of police exist in America. How many resign every month. So therefore I can't know if it's a big deal that 70 of them have resigned in the past few weeks, most for no apparent reason. I'll leave it to you to dissect this. You may also wonder if there's any meaning to the seemingly unexpected to over 50 CEO/CFO resignations in the last 3 weeks.

Proving no one cares who removes the snow as long as it's gone, the Pittsburgh mayor has called in the national guard. They'll be used for other purposes too. What Posse Comitatus? Just ignore the humvees.

Speaking of snow, the storms on the east coast could cost up to 150,000 jobs this month, the global warming proponents say it means nothing. It will to those out of work due to anything but warm weather.

Where are the Haitian donations going? Mostly to bank accounts at this point. The Republican fund raising mailer says "Census Document" . The dems are worried it will be confusing and people will think they're already counted. What I can't understand is that this is the Republican National Committee. The dems should be glad if republicans aren't counted. Instead they've proposed legislation to make it illegal to send such things. Hard to think anyone will be confused with the millions and millions the government is spending on telling you to fill out the form.

And finally, more on Arrow-gate and the stranding of hundreds of truckers. An employee tells you what she new in October.

THURSDAY FEBRUARY 11, 2010 12:01 AM (PT) The 2 hours we did with Venus Andrecht will be on the stream until tonight's live show. If you want to download it, you'll find it at MyStreamingServer.com. And in addition to ContactTalkRadio and VibranceTV, you'll find Venus on Facebook. She's got two pages, so just search for Venus Andrecht and you'll find both of them.

Finding out what's in the Senate Jobs bill may not be quite as easy. But it's interesting to look at what's not in it. As for what is, based on the draft copy circulated Tuesday, you'll see that a number of things that didn't make it into previous legislation made it into this one. Maybe that's why they didn't get around to worrying about assistance for the states, which are all facing massive budget deficits. Snow stopped the senate from voting on it this week (it also stopped the senate committee meeting on global warming-- rather ironic it was cancelled due to a blizzard and insane that it will be rescheduled at all). Next week lawmakers take off for President's Day. (Yeah you get a day, they get a week, but it's always better for the country when they're not working.)

Chicago Mayor Daley moves to shut down all gun stores in Illinois. HB180 will effectively do it.

If you weren't worried enough about the economy already, here's news of a new major dip in the money supply ahead that won't bode well for you. I'll be back at 7 with something else to depress you, I'm sure. I'll try to balance that with something entertaining. In fact I'll start working on that now. Talk to you later.

WEDNESDAY FEBRUARY 10, 2010 12:01 AM (PT) We'll talk with Venus Andrecht in the first two hours of tonight's show. Check out Venus' GodIsAlwaysHappy.com blog, her Dear Venus show on ContactTalkRadio.com and the tv show, The Flow Mojo Show she does with her daughter, Summer McStravick on VibranceTV.com. Not only does she have some great insight (and yes she'll read you too, if you call), but she's always a hoot. Also check out her latest MLM, SkinnyVenus.com --Venus is the MLM queen-- making more money in network marketing than anyone I know. I don't think it's the products either. It's her personality that's irresistible. I think we'll have fun tonight...

,,,maybe not as much fun as the "professionals" handling security at London's Heathrow airport had last week. The ones operating the body scanners-- you know the drill-- have every nuance of your body revealed to staff who would never compromise your privacy. The images won't be seen by others or stored in any way. Notice nothing in that guarantee mentions printing. Maybe that's why the gals at Heathrow took the liberty of printing four-color glossies of the star as movie goers have never seen him. He was a good sport about it, even signed the images once he inadvertently saw them. What I want to know, is who brought the printer? There's a printer in this highly confidential computer chain?! So much for the assurance of confidentiality.

Likewise, the assurances that you're not in radiation danger are also in question right now. Even so, Australia is about to introduce the menacing machines.

Ready to be scared witless? There may be two supreme court vacancies this year and Cass Sunstein is being considered for one of them. OMG.

It is now mathematically impossible to pay off the US debt. Actually, it's worse than that. And for some businesses it may become mathematically impossible to pay unemployment insurance taxes. That's an exaggeration but in some cases the formerly low tax has increased 10 fold.

Pennsylvania democrats are salivating over possibly being the first state to pass single-payer health care. (Oregon has come closest to date). All the candidates for governor think it's a fine idea. Canada meanwhile has found a way to effectively ban supplements and vitamins-- natural health care products. And the FDA is at it again, invading Amish farms.

Google and the NSA have formed an "alliance". They say it won't affect your privacy. I won't dignify that with a comment.

ACORN chief Bertha Lewis quits the Working Families Party. They're accused of campaign violations. What a shock.

Washington state has spent almost a million and a half dollars to build a fence. It's designed to keep large animals from entering a high speed highway. But they didn't finish the project, so instead of blocking the animals, it's funneling them. Your tax dollars at work.

We know why the Dubai Burj has closed down. Imagine being stuck in an elevator in the world's tallest building. One trapped person told of the lights going out and then descending downward until the breaks caught. That'll take a few years off someone's life. The owner still isn't talking but this is what those on the scene are saying. I'll stay home.

TUESDAY FEBRUARY 9, 2010 12:01 AM (PT) A North Carolina town declared a state of emergency due to the inclement weather. No story there, right? Well, the townsfolk thought otherwise when they discovered that in addition to keeping their cars off the road, they were forced to keep their guns at home. Couldn't buy, sell or transport. Likewise for alcohol. But here's the worst part-- it wasn't the town or its chief of police that made the call. It's the state statute about declaring states of emergency. Seems few if any folks knew what was in that statute. What other laws are a mystery to the state's residents? Probably most of them.

South Carolina meanwhile just enacted a law requiring all subversives to register. Never mind that overthrowing the government is illegal due to many long standing statutes. Now there's another one. But while it might target terrorists, there's an even chance it covers you-- especially if you listen to my show.

North Carolina is not alone in snow-- the entire mid atlantic is covered to the point that no one in Washington DC went to work today. So much for RFK Jr's assessment that global warming was so evident that now kids in the district don't have sleds. They needed more than that today. Good to see Congress unable to meet-- not that many lawmakers were on Capitol Hill. They escaped to their home districts last week. Left were the aides who couldn't come to agreement on the Jobs bill, just as well since the vote had to be cancelled. Harry Reid is intent on bringing it to the floor today.

Obama is still intent on passing healthcare. Now he's invited the republicans to discuss it in a bipartisan televised meeting later this month. Fortunately some republican lawmakers already declare they'll stand tough against it. To be jaded, perhaps this will be a way for the Obama administration to paint the republicans as thwarting the effort by refusing to compromise. And to be hopeful, that sounds great to me. Stay on your republican senators and reps to vote no, no matter what.

No secret that the Obama administration is threatened by the internet. Several plans under way world wide to stop you from expressing your feelings and spreading the word of liberty. One came to fruition this weekend when an upstream provider blocked sites like Alex Jones. That means every ISP that depends on Asia Netcom (like Woosh, Telecom, Slingshot and Orcon in New Zealand and Australia) wasn't able to deliver Infowars.com and PrisonPlanet.tv among many others. This time customer outrage reversed the decision. Another reason to fight for Net Neutrality here. Private companies should have no more right than the government should to block your choice of content.

World's tallest building (in Dubai) closes after a month. But why?

Frustrated job seekers are giving up. No surprise there. Here's what some are doing. Some say the unemployment rate is dropping. Don't buy it says Bank of America. Speaking of banks, more are expected to fail including Flagstar in Troy MI, Amcore in Rockford, IL and Sterling in Spokane, WA.

Time Magazine says they've got the goods on the governor of New York and when they expose him, David Paterson will have to step down. Paterson says he's going no where. No word on what Time has on him. No shortage of candidates wanting to run against him including the madam who brought down his predecessor, Eliot Spitzer. Madam Kristin Davis hasa republican strategist behind her.

Moral Dilemma. A guy answers a Craiglist ad from a woman who wants to be raped. Graphic email exchanges take place including the address of the woman and her picture along with her assurance that she wants this scenario. He shows up, rapes her as requested and it turns out that the gal did not place the ad. Her ex boyfriend did, and it was he who posed as her emailing the would be rapist with all the details that made it seem so very real. The guy who raped this woman was arrested for rape. The guy who set it up was an accomplice. OK, granted, the guy who did the raping was guilty of massive stupidity and that alone might be worthy of a life sentence. But it seems to me that the guy who set it up should be charged even more severely. Accomplice doesn't cut it. I liked one caller's sollution: charge the ex boyfriend with aggravated rape allow the victim to decide what to do with the guy who committed the crime by falling for the scam.

Think your cell phone isn't hurting you? If so, it's probably because the government doesn't want you to see the growing mound of research showing it is. We'll pick it up there tonight at 7 (PT).

SATURDAY FEBRUARY 6, 2010 12:01 AM (PT) Trivia answers are up (under Trivia to your left and Bumper Stumpers are up under Music). If you missed hearing Charlie Ingui of he Soul Survivors earlier, you can catch him all weekend on the stream, or if you prefer to download the hour, it's up at MyStreamingServer.com. Have fun. Talk to you Monday!

FRIDAY FEBRUARY 5, 2010 12:01 AM (PT) Trivia tonight. We'll talk with Charlie Ingui of the Soul Survivors in the first hour. They've just released a new CD, "Heart Full of Soul" (Click on it for a good price from Amazon.) You can't talk Philly Soul without bringing up "Expressway To Your Heart", quite the accomplishment for a couple of white boys to say the least. We'll discuss it and more. Then in the 2nd and 3rd hours, we'll play trivia. I'm ready for you so do your part and call.

We talked with Summer McStravick last night. Did some Flowdreaming and took your calls. If you have trouble falling to sleep like I do, you may want to download her latest CD "Flowdreaming To Fall Asleep To"

I'm horrified to note the house overwhelmingly passed the Cyber Security Bill. Only five representatives (all republicans) voted no: Ron Paul as you'd expect, joined by Dr. Paul Broun from GA, Jeff Flake from AZ, Louie Gohmert from TX and James Sensenbrenner from WI. Here's the roll call. Why is this a problem? Because the terrorists that worry lawmakers are those who tell the truth online-- Alex Jones, 2nd Amendment groups, immigration groups, the Tea Partiers. I could go on, but you get the idea. Work on your senators now to vote no, though it's a long shot you'll be successful.

It'll be an interesting republican primary in Florida. Charlie Crist wants amnesty for illegals and Marco Rubio says no. The result will say less about the men than the issue and every republican will be watching.

Most Americans will be watching the Superbowl. They may not realize that in addition to the teams, they'll be watching their tax dollars at work. Yes, you paid for a superbowl television commercial telling you to fill out the census form. They're spending $340 million to get you to comply. That $340 million compares to $106.4 million in 2000. How well did it work? The anticipated 60% compliance rate bounded up to 64%, still below the 65% compliance in 1990.

Looking for a low fat healthy food option? How about a Camel Burger?

They called it missionary work and compassion. I call it baby stealing and overt arrogance. Haiti agrees with me and 10 Americans are in jail.

THURSDAY FEBRUARY 4, 2010 12:01 AM (PT) If you're beyond fed up and actually downright concerned about your future given the state of the world, you might be able to do something about it. I'm not suggesting you'll change the global paradigm, but I do believe you can change your life and I also believe that Summer McStravick knows how to do it. So we'll spend a couple hours with her tonight. You'll learn the Flowdreaming technique and Summer will take your calls. If you're not on board with concept, let me ask you-- do you have a better idea how to improve your situation? Check us out from 7 to 9 (PT) tonight. And check out Summer's Flowdreaming radio show at Contact Talk Radio and the TV show she does with her mom, The Flow Mojo Show at Vibrance TV (go to "on demand" and scroll down to The Flow Mojo Show.

We talked with Mario Gonzalez last night. He's the attorney representing the Crow Creek Sioux tribe against the IRS confiscation of their land. The tribe's phone number is 605-235-2221. Mario believes they've set up an account to fight Uncle Sam. Call them for info if you'd like to donate. If you think the country's atrocious record with the Native Americans doesn't affect you, then you might want to realize that they're the canary in the coal mine. What's done to them first will be done to you later. Bet on it.

Why does the IRS need shotguns? Here's the Request for Quotation. It doesn't answer that question but it will tell you what they're buying. I often say, don't pay your taxes, they'll come at your with the point of a gun. Now you'll know more about the gun in question.

It's bad enough we have to pay taxes, it's worse when we find out how they're spent. Over a hundred grand on Nancy Pelosi's inflight booze?

Americans are not the only people safeguarding their right to own guns. Citizens of India are becoming equally passionate for all the same reasons, only they don't have a constitution on their side.

Good news: James Arthur Ray is being held accountable for the deaths that resulted from his sweat lodge ceremony last year. Hopefully a jury will understand that someone holding themselves up as a leader, if not a guru, has a heightened level of responsibility to his students, if not followers, who paid over $9,000 each for this life changing event. He delivered on that promise but not in any way that participants should have expected.

You've heard all about the Toyota recall. The car manufacturer blames it on sticky gas pedals. Not so fast (no pun intended). According to some in the know, the drive by wire (electronic sensor) system may be the culprit. Either way, now Toyota has another recall on it's hands: The brakes on the Prius.

AIG bonuses in the news again. Problem is, the contracts are valid. We may not want the execs to be paid, but do you want the government to intervene on what you'll be paid? Think you won't be next?

Here's a guy arrested on a train. He did absolutely nothing wrong, so they had to let him go. He mused he might take the bus next time, but he might want to rethink that after what happened to Greyhound riders in Memphis. Now this is outrageous. You'll want to try Flowdreaming. I just know it.

WEDNESDAY FEBRUARY 3, 2010 2:00 AM (PT) More bad news for climate change enthusiasts. First it was the 1000+ emails highlighting the changes in the data to make the point for global warming. Now it's the source of some of that data-- anecdotal tales from mountain climbers, articles in Climbing magazine and a geography student's master's dissertation. If this isn't the last nail in the coffin, nothing will be but then again this isn't about scientific inquiry it's a bout philosophical belief.

Why is Senator Kirk still voting on legislation? Why haven't the republicans protested this violation of rules and tradition? Why is Harry Reid going back on his pledge not to call for major votes until Scott Brown is seated? Yes, those are rhetorical questions.

Obama has created jobs. Unfortunately you're paying for them. The federal payroll hits a record 2.15 million this year. That doesn't count postal employees. Figures like that will have a lot of voters wanting to rein in such spending. But the Service Employees International Union has a fix. Legalize 8 million new voters and the progressive fix is in. They brag about it. They better act fast. It doesn't look good for democrats in the fall. Blanche Lincoln would lose if the election were today. And Obama's seat in Illinois is anything but guaranteed.

Massive layoffs coming to New York City, California, Arizona, well.. everywhere. But Colorado Springs is particularly vexing. It almost sounds like they wanted to penalize voters who overwhelmingly defeated a 300% hike in property taxes. Among other things, they don't plan to pave the streets. It would be different if they had a government grant-- like Cleveland which will be spending $792,000 to install light switches in the police building.

Meanwhile the private sector continues to tank. Unemployment rising. If you're trying to watch what you spend, you might want to give up texting. Did you realize that companies that provide your texting ability charge you a 6,500% markup. Yes that's sixty thousand five hundred percent.

Folks fearing on the job urine tests have been known to patronize companies with products that claim to make their indiscretions invisible. The US Attorney's office in Pittsburgh has been known to be staffed by the politically ambitious. Tommy Chong found that out for very specious reasons, but in this case there is little sympathy for the maker of "Your In The Clear" (their bad grammar, not mine). He's pleading guilty. Why am I telling you this, beyond the disquieting feeling that comes when you realize that selling anything online opens you up to everyone's jurisdiction? Because they'll go after the buyers next.

Conspiracy of the day? HAARP created the Haiti earthquake. Do I believe that? No. Do I believe that it's possible to do something like this? The US Secretary of defense admitted it in 1997.

TUESDAY FEBRUARY 2, 2010 2:45 AM (PT) A rather abbreviated show last night thanks to my inadvertently pouring ginger ale into the audio board. It's dry now and amazingly working. Mostly. Well enough to do the show tonight anyway. But last night, we did get an hour in before I started decimating equipment.

Good to see a poll reflecting what I've been sayin'-- Americans liked Obama's speech, but they didn't believe a word of it. If you're not among the doubters, let me punctuate his assurance that lobbying efforts would be minimized, with word of 12 democratic senators spending a lavish weekend with bank, energy and tobacco lobbyists. Can you say hypocritical? The very industries and practices democratic lawmakers decry not only sponsored the weekend, but were also hit up by those same lawmakers for campaign contributions.

Unemployment? Never mind the 10% figure. Look at Underemployment. Now we're talking over 20%. Arthur Laffer thinks the economy will collapse in 2011. If you're saying 'Who is Arthur Laffer?,' then you haven't seen the Laffer Curve. It's an amazing graphic that displays the relationship between the rate of taxation and the level of compliance. (Looking at it world wide and historically, sometimes lower taxes produce more revenue because people pay them, as opposed to high taxes which people dodge.)

So you've heard that those invasive full body scanners at airports will be used on a totally voluntary basis? Forget about it. Say no in Great Britian, you won't fly. And just who is looking at those graphic images? This TSA worker who is currently behind bars for soliciting at 13 year old. His website has it all "BDSM Master" "and trainer". I don't even want to think about that "training" part.

Ready for more indoctrination? A priest in Poland has installed an electronic fingerprint reader to see when kids attend mass. Here's the worst part. The kids like it.
