DECEMBER 2010 FRIDAY DECEMBER 31, 2010 12:01 AM (MT) Happy New Year. Whether the night is happy or not, if you've got nothing on tap, remember we're live. And since it's Friday night, we'll play trivia, if enough of you want to. Otherwise I might play comedy albums, or something. But whatever it is, it'll be on as usual starting at 7 PT / 10 ET. The do-gooders say that abridging the constitution and our civil rights is the last thing they want to do, but in truth it's the first thing they're doing. Stopped for DUI in Tampa Bay this weekend? Don't want to blow into the breathalyzer (for all sorts or reasons including notorious inaccuracies)? Then your blood will be taken forcibly at the scene. Think I'm kidding? Here you go. And it gets worse. It's happening every weekend through 2011 in Bexar County Texas (that's San Antonio). This is beyond a slippery slope, it's greased skids to subjugation. Hand soap can kill you. New research says the anti-bacterial kind is doing just that. And it's all the rage among hospital employees. No wonder MRSAs are on the rise. (It's what Marty from 5 Star Soap has been saying all along.) Socialized Medicine Horror of the day? This one from Sweden, where a man complained of genital irritation. It took several months of no results for his GP to refer him to a specialist. Then it took 5 months to get that first appointment. In the time, the irritation, which was actually cancer, grew. The result? Penis amputation.... that'll seem reasonable once the baby boomers hit medicare age here.. oh wait, that starts happening tomorrow. Yes, as of tomorrow, every day 10,000 new medicare enrollees and the rate won't slow down for 19 years. No wonder they pushed Obamacare. Have to get the young and healthy snagged into the system in order to treat the elderly-- except even that won't work unless services are grossly rationed. Think the FCC is the biggest threat to internet freedom? Think bigger. Behind our back the UN has been jockeying into position... Finally, an explanation about the stimulus package and how it works that you can easily understand. Complete with hookers and motels here. THURSDAY DECEMBER 30, 2010 12:01 AM (MT) Looks like the airline pilot who put up the YouTube videos showing the security dichotomy between maintenance workers and the rest of us, has gotten what he wanted. Congress is going to demand answers from the TSA about it. Not that the TSA will give a straight answer. They're too busy flaming and threatening on anti-TSA sites to do much else. One site proved the untoward and unprofessional messages were secretly coming from Homeland Security computers. Thing the TSA are equal opportunity harassers? Think again. Activists are being singled out (along with journalists) and pretty girls.... remember the woman in a wheel chair who made a point to show up at the OKC airport in her underwear and wound up being told she couldn't fly because of nitrates found on or near her? The situation was cleared up a day later, and airborne she was. But it's happened to her again. This time it's for "an unusual contour of her buttocks area". Who knows what that means, beyond another delay, because whatever it is, she's cleared to fly tomorrow....and I'm sure you'll be comforted to know that now one tip is now enough to put your name in the terror database. Maybe this is why they're urging Wal-Mart shoppers to report suspicious activity. Here's real terror. Public Schools. Like the one in North Carolina where an honor student was found with a paring knife was found in her lunch box. That has her expelled with a criminal record. She'd never had any trouble before until she inadvertently picked up dad's lunch box with the whole apple and small knife, instead of hers, which was identical in appearance. We're doing great at teaching our kids in public schools-- on an indoctrination scale, educators rate 110%. Stop child abuse. Homeschool.
WEDNESDAY DECEMBER 29, 2010 12:01 AM (MT) Here's a juicy legal dilemma. Leon was Clara's third husband. She divorced her second husband because he was physically abusive to her and her child from her first marriage. One day Leon was online and decided to see exactly who Clara was emailing. Turned out it was abusive husband #2 and their affair was obvious. He notified husband #1 suggesting he file for sole custody. Yeah, it's a soap opera alright. You won't be surprised that Clara divorced Leon. But you should be shocked to learn that Oakland County Michigan (suburban Detroit) is prosecuting Leon for hacking into her email. Do you think he should be convicted of hacking? Before you answer, realizing if he is, no parent is going to have the right to look at their kids' emails again. After all, he was married to her and the passwords were in a book by the computer in a common area of the house. There's no question that Chris Liu is a hero. Of course the feds don't see it that way. He's the pilot who exposed the insane security rules that let baggage handlers and maintenance people onto the plane with no security beyond a card swipe, and have flight crews and passengers groped beyond decency. You've probably heard the story, but now you know who he is. The Feds need to back off. This is the kind of guy who should be cannonized and he's being victimized beyond decency. Proving Chris Liu's point, luggage exploded at Miami International. At first it was thought to be hairspray in an aerosol can. Turned out it was 700 bullet primers exploding. How can this happen? Because as Chris points out, no one cares about luggage, or much else beyond harassing passengers. Many in the Obama administration hold up British healthcare, the NHS, as a shining example. Horror does not cover it. Patients are treated in kitchens ,stashed in broom closets, left in hallways, offices and sitting in chairs because there's no room or people to treat them. We want this?! Sick of trying to explain that when "rich people" save more money from tax cuts, they're still paying a lot more taxes than the rest of us? Here's a beer analogy that might work better in proving the rich don't overly benefit from tax cuts.... Maybe you can figure this one out. Consumer confidence retreats..... but all the reports show christmas spending was way up? People maxing out cards before the inevitable, or what?... You'll see the headline-- the rich are richer than you and me. But don't jump to conclusions... on average they lost 27% of their net worth. Problem is, the rest of us lost 41%. They're not getting richer, we're getting poorer.... So cities are strapped, too. But people are rightly outraged when budget cuts include snow removal. New York was paralyzed.
TUESDAY DECEMBER 28, 2010 12:01 AM (MT) Have you heard of Lt. Michael Behenna? In 2008, serving in the middle east, he was asked to escort a known al-qaida operative back home. This terrorist previously killed members of the Lt's squad and had been jailed, but the military decided to free him and Behenna was to take him home. Behenna interrogated him and during the conversation, the terrorist lunged for him, trying to grab his weapon. Behenna fired two shots in self defense and killed the guy. The military tried him, and hid the evidence that 100% backed up his story. After his lawyers discovered the coverup, an appeal was filed. This time the military didn't question his story, they simply stated he had no right to self defense under the facts in the case. Turns out that no one in uniform has a real right to self defense. Read this story, and for more information go to DefendMichael.com His case should be pleaded by every American. Do you realize the United States Military rules of engagement say that a service member has to receive fire before initiating it? It's actually worse than that, as many of my callers attested last night. Meanwhile morale won't get better without Don't Ask, Don't Tell. I'm pretty vocal that I don't care who does what with whom, but the problem of allowing openly gay folks in the military is not simply a matter of where someone showers (though that is not as settled as Barney Frank would like you to believe-- if it was, there wouldn't be different facilities for men and women. It goes way beyond the possibility of actual copulation). What about servicemen with strong religious convictions? It's one thing to ask them to respect the views of others, but quite another if they're forced to attend "behavior modification" or "Indoctrination training". Here's one officer who believes it will be the case, and he's willing to resign rather than go along. So much for Homeland Security. About 40 illegal aliens were employed at Eglin AFB working on Special Forces construction. We found out after the blueprints were missing... meanwhile Ms. Napolitano, as expected, is spreading her TSA Gestapo Zones from the airports to a Mall or Hotel near you.... And Obama said there will be no "death panels" in Obamacare-- they start in days. (No you don't get killed, you just get counseled to kill yourself if you're sick or old.)
SATURDAY CHRISTMAS 2010 12:01 AM (MT) Here's hoping Christmas is everything you want it to be, whatever that is. We were live Christmas eve and it was great spending the show with Steve Bryant. If you missed the show, it'll be on the stream and downloadable replay all weekend, and an archived downloadable will be at MyStreamingServer.com for a while. We managed to get a few trivia questions in, and a few answers. Find out what they are by clicking on Trivia to your left. Bumper Stumpers were replaced with some of Steve's wonderful parodies, all of which you can hear at SteveBryant.tv. On the surface it seems like nothing happens over the holidays which is exactly why I'm watching what's really going on. We'll talk about it on Monday night. Many of you compliment me for all the stories I uncover. Actually I have help: Many thanks to the Mad Scientist, Woody in Massachusetts, Donna in New York and assorted others who let me know what they find interesting. Much appreciated! FRIDAY DECEMBER 24, 2010 12:01 AM (MT) Spend Christmas Eve with us-- I may have the only live show on the air tonight. Especially if you're a member of "The Rollye James I Hate The Holidays Club," you'll be with kindred spirits tonight. Of course there'll be some Friday Night Trivia-- there'll also be Steve Bryant! He'll cohost all night. We'll have plenty of parodies and whatever you'd like to hear, so join us and call. What happens when a commercial pilot tells the truth about the TSA? He loses his firearms, is threatened with lawsuits and arrest, and may be fired. Other than that, this pilot had nothing to lose when he stated the obvious: what air crews and the public go through is a complete sham-- maintenance workers get through with no checks. Here's the outrage. So will it surprise you that the mega million TSA assault program has netted not one terrorist at the airport? I didn't think so. You won't be surprised to learn the feds are trying to circumvent congress to get your firearms either. Here's the latest ploy and it probably will go through if you don't complain loudly to your rep and senators...speaking of reps, the delightful Keith Ellison declares that our borders will be irrelevant. He thinks it's a good thing... more on the billions you spend on squat. Literally, in the case of the $41,000 tolilet. 1.49 million for all of them....We told you about 16 cities ready to default. That's just for openers. It may be more like 100. Here's the deal. Sonic booms created from Israeli warplanes are making crocodiles horny. You gotta read this... then there's the feminine hygiene product ad in Pakistan (where I didn't think you could advertise such things at all). The billboards say WIkiLeaks but Butterfly doesn't. My my.... Finally, we may know why more people are having strokes in certain states. Fried fish. Well, at least I'll die satiated and happy.....
THURSDAY DECEMBER 23, 2010 12:01 AM (MT) Venus Andrecht tonight! She's one of my favorite folks. Hopefully you've checked out her Dear Venus Show on Contact Talk Radio, her blog at GodIsAlwaysHappy.com and her facebook page. With any luck, you'll get through on the phone tonight, or just have a good time listening. Definition of insanity: A 13 year old Jr. High student is writing on a piece of paper with his permanent marker and it's going through to the desk. His teacher has him arrested. Yup, booked. The marker was marked for evidence.... Then there's the High schoolers in Virginia-- thrown out for maliciously maiming students-- throwing weapons-- wrapped, 2 inch candy canes. Not making this up either.... And in Rhode Island we have the toy guy buyback. Elementary school kids being urged to turn toy guns into the police in exchange for wrapped presents which are not nearly as much fun. Good to know we're disarming toy boxes. You know you're in trouble when Pat Roberston make sense, but in this case, he does: he's for the legalization of pot. Who knew?... under the 'never let a good deed go unpunished', a shop owner in Stockholm immediately turned over footage of a suicide bomber before during and after the act. For his reward they said thanks, and ordered him to take down his cameras. What?.... America is a growing nation-- largely because of immigrants, mostly illegal. Here's some sobering census statistics. And here's more on it... Thank god the DREAM Act didn't pass-- but just about everything else did. No congress since LBJ's Great Society (remember THAT disaster?) has had a bigger impact on our liberty than the 111th. Unfortunately all negative. A bit cold out there? Hard to spin it as global warming, though many will try. In truth it's a freak diversion of the Jet Stream, having nothing to do with man's activities.... If you're a commercial driver, beware, the government wants to ban hand-led cell phones. Then it'll be all phones, then it'll be 4-wheelers, so we've all got a stake in this....New Zeland military releases its UFO files, and immediately distances itself from them. No real news, but plenty of hilarity.... The upcoming New Year will be that of the Rabbit. To find out what your animal is, here's a chart.
WEDNESDAY DECEMBER 22, 2010 2:00 AM (MT) No surprise, and no delight: The Food Safety bill is on its way to the president's desk. Of course he'll sign it, and you know all the problems with it. (If not, check out the links page over the past few months.) Soon the check won't be in the mail-- at least not if it's coming from Social Security. May 1st is the cutoff for paper checks. Direct deposit (mostly) after that. 16 US cities facing imminent bankruptcy... 20 nutso things on which the government spends your money.... maybe if they fixed potholes, people wouldn't die. Yes, die.... 16 shocking facts about student loan debt... the 10 worst states for retirees. Winners and losers from the FCCs quasi-net neutrality ruling. Quasi, hell, it's anything but net neutrality and of course you, the end user, are the biggest loser.... Intel backs off on a chip ID program, but that hasn't stopped them from developing the remote kill switch, or selling it as a good idea. Sarah Palin is no one's fool. No I don't think she should run for office after resigning from the governorship, but I do admire her money-making ability. Word is she'll be getting a million dollars per episode of "Sarah Palin's Alaska". Maybe I could do a weekly tour of West Edmonton Mall. Nah, not nearly as interesting since the submarines were removed. Here's a story about a cop who should be fired- or perhaps tarred and feathered. Killing a family pet, a golden retriever for no damn good reason, and I bet he won't even get probation. Disgusting.
TUESDAY DECEMBER 21, 2010 2:31 AM (MT) Did you miss the Lunar Eclipse? It probably didn't miss you, astrologically speaking. It's been since the 1600s that we've had a total lunar eclipse on the Winter Solstice. Add to that, Mercury retrograde conjunct the sun and opposing the moon, with the sun & moon squaring Jupiter & Uranus (making for an interesting T-Square pattern) and you've got a heavy-duty 24 hours or so. Here's one take. While you were doing last minute Christmas shopping Sunday night, the lame-duck senate passed S.510 again. It's the food safety act that's been ping-ponging in the chambers due to procedural gaffes. Sad to say, Sen. Coburn lifted his ojbection at the last minute. Now it's back to the House which assuredly will pass it again before the lame ducks leave. Sorry to say, it has nothing to do with food safety and everything to do with control, but we've been over that. It was a stealth voice-vote and every last one of the senators said yes. Is it coincidental that the latest intel says there's a terror threat aimed at our food? The FCC will pass Net Neutrality today. Of Course there's nothing neutral about it. It may be worse than doing nothing at all, which the republicans would prefer. Bottom line, we must fight for blind dumb pipes. If providers want to charge more for bandwidth, fine, but to be able to discriminate among the content along the way is as bad as it gets. Both sides disagree with me on that, apparently.... speaking of technology, retailers are in big trouble. Here's why. But there is some good news- funding for the REAL ID hubs was expressly removed by the House in the appropriation bill they passed (that the senate didn't pass-- but it will come up again, imminently in the new session). You didn't know about the hubs, or the funding? Here you go. But mind you, republicans are a group are more for this kind of intrusion so stay on both the house and senate after the new year.
SATURDAY DECEMBER 18, 2010 12:01 AM (MT) Bumper Stumpers and Trivia answers are up under Music and Trivia to your left. Don't forget, you've got until Monday at 10 AM Pacific, to get $5.95 3-day air shipping on the CCRadio-EP. If you add anything else on to your order, the shipping is still $5.95. Nice deal! We'll be live all next week including Christmas Eve. I'll be in a festive mood-- Steve Bryant joins me Friday night.
FRIDAY DECEMBER 17, 2010 12:01 AM (MT) Trivia tonight. 3 big hours. Get ready to cal at 7 PT, 'cause I'll be ready for you. Twas great to talk with Bob Crane earlier. Forgot to mention that if you order the new CCRadio-EP, anytime before Monday at 10 AM (Pacific), it's $5.95 shipping (3 day air) to the continental US. And if you order anything else with it, the shipping is still $5.95. You'll have it before Christmas, so buy one for yourself and think about gifts! The House passed the Senate's version of the tax cut extension bill. It now goes to Obama's desk for signature. Those who opposed it? Many democrats thought extending most of the cuts was too generous. Some republicans thought extending unemployment benefits for another 13 months was too generous. Good news: 2% lower on payroll tax deductions (Social Security/Medicare). Even better news-- the pork-laden omnibus bill is dead. Reid pulled it and said he'd work with a temporary (2 months) extension of government funding (which would have expired tonight). Sad news: The illegal who was part of the group that killed the border patrol agent Tuesday night had been deported twice, had a criminal record. He never should have been here. Complain about the DHS/Wal-Mart partnership, and expect a wiretap.. maybe. You decide.... but there's no question that complaining about the government may cost you your right to work. Don't think so? Read this. Feeling secure with the airport gropings? It isn't stopping people with loaded guns in their carry-on baggage to get on planes. This guy boarded. Read about him and a lot of other lapses that will leave you wondering...
THURSDAY DECEMBER 16, 2010 2:31 PM (MT) Bob Crane on tonight! We'll talk about the new products in the CCrane catalog including a great radio and an indispensible light bulb, and best of all, we'll take your calls. All those things you ask me? Bob will have answers!
THURSDAY DECEMBER 16, 2010 12:01 AM (MT) Good to talk with Bob Stille of the NAFBPO earlier. It's hard to describe how bad it is at our southern border, and anyone living elsewhere in America probably doesn't have a clue to the extent of the violence. It's like living in a war zone, and fortunately few Americans can relate to that. Click on the NAFBPO link and get acquainted with a bit of what we're facing.... perhaps I should offer that advice to the Obama administration which seems hell-bent on erasing the border. So Obama says he was held hostage to agree to across the board tax cuts? The American people have been held hostage to his outrageous spending to get them. 8 billion in earmarks... or, as this account figures, a trillion. Sorry to hear Lt. Col. say "I chose the wrong path." Based on being found guilty, he did, but based on a full hearing of the evidence, it would have been very hard to convict him. Of course he was not allowed to bring any of that up. Here's hoping there's an appeal.
WEDNESDAY DECEMBER 15, 2010 12:01 AM (MT) Always uplifting to talk with Summer McStravick. While I'm very much in favor of being aware of the political and economic turmoil we're facing, it's great to be able to be involved, yet personally detached. Flowdreaming gets you there. Sign up for the newsletter offer on that link, you can be a part of a free conference all on 1-11-11, and check out Summer's facebook page, and in addition to Contact Talk Radio, check her show out on Spirit Quest Radio. Staying grounded is about the only way to deal with farces like Lt. Col Lakin's trial. As you're aware, the military judge ruled that he could only discuss whether he got his orders, and whether he deployed. That doesn't allow the elephant in the room, Obama's constitutional qualifications to be his commander in chief, to be even recognized, let alone brought forth as evidence. He's pled guilty to one of two counts. And is being tried on the other one. Here's the story. If you're not outraged yet, how about a father being investigated by CPS for feeding his kids organic foods. A neighbor turned him in. Seems she thought there was something "suspicious" going on.... on that basis, all of congress should be investigated now. Speaking of which, check out this video of a woman calling Wal-Mart to ask about their partnership with Homeland Security. The answers are priceless. And don't take it as a given that they'll recess Friday. Harry Reid will do whatever it takes to get more of his socialism rammed through, including having sessions until January 4th. He's actually said as much. Hoyer says he sees business spilling into next week.
TUESDAY DECEMBER 14, 2010 12:01 AM (MT) We'll talk with Summer McStravick tonight in the first two hours of the show. Check out her Flowdreaming.com website and her show on Contact Talk Radio. If you're feeling like all the 'real world' answers aren't working, maybe it's time to look into the spiritual realm, and we will-- with down to earth suggestions. Sounds like an oxymoron, but it's not. Even the most earth-bound will get some tips from this show. Always a pleasure talking with Jerry Corsi who was kind enough to spend an entire show with us. The big shocker? While we're being groped by the TSA, 84 million Mexicans are offered a way around the screening. Read this and be very angry. And be glad that Jerry just put up JeromeCorsi.com --it's a one-stop place for vital info. Sign up for the free newsletter and navigate around while you're there. Some good news-- a federal judge torpedoed the provision in Obamacare mandating that all Americans buy into it. Here are the highlights of the ruling. And yes, it'll go to the supreme court, but that may be the best news yet.
SATURDAY DECEMBER 11, 2010 12:01 AM (MT) Friday Night Trivia answers and Bumper Stumpers are up under Trivia and Music to your left. You won't want to miss Monday night's show. Jerry Corsi spends the entire night with me! 7-10 PT / 10-1 ET. If you haven't registered for Jerry's Red Alert newsletter, do it now, here. If you haven't read his latest books. Click on them for a good price from Amazon: "The Shroud Codex" and don't forget his role at Gilford Securities.
FRIDAY DECEMBER 10, 2010 3:31 AM (MT) Trivia tonight. 3 big hours. Start calling at 7 (PT). Start celebrating now: Ron Paul is chairman of the Domestic Monetary Subcommittee. There were more than a few Republicans sorry to see that, but none will be nearly as sorry as Ben Bernanke and his crowd. The House Financial Services Committee (to be headed by Spencer Bachus) will be a very different animal than the committee headed by Barney Frank, and that is a very good thing. Harry Reid couldn't pull off cloture on the Dream Act yesterday but he did have the votes to table it until a more favorable time. He's hell bent on getting it passed in this lame duck session, so please be equally vigilant in calling your senators. 202-224-3121 is the Capitol Hill Switchboard. If the line is busy, the voice mailboxes are full, or you can't weigh in, go to Senate.gov and take a look at your senators' web sites. (You'll find them by state.) Call a local office. Pressure them to say NO to the Dream Act. Say yes to helping TruthAttack.org. That's Tom Cryer's site, and he along with Joe Banister have a great plan to spread the word about the truth behind the fallacy of our income tax system. Check out Operation Rich Reward (a great idea to enlighten lawyers) and Operation Trojan Horse (a fine plan to enlighten IRS workers). They're great ideas but they'll take a little money, so help if you can. And don't forget Truckers for Troops. This is a marvelous program that sends care packages to soldiers in January (when most are forgotten after the holidays are over). You can renew your OOIDA membership for $25 through midnight tonight, and a portion of your dues will go towards the program. Call 800-444-5791or fill out the form here. And don't forget that your handwritten notes of thanks to our servicemen and women are greatly needed. Especially if you can get your kids to do it. Nothing brightens a deployed military man or women more than a heartfelt thank you, particular from a child. Finally, the discount on Cubby Buddies goes through Saturday at noon. If you're an owner operator, you've got to have one! Keep reading the next entry for details. Finally, the YouTube post of "Grandma Got Molested At The Airport" --a fine parody.
THURSDAY DECEMBER 9, 2010 5:30 AM (MT) So let's see if I get this straight: Obama says he was forced to give in on tax cuts for the wealthy in order to get tax cuts for the middle class, lest they be harmed economically. So he's admitting that higher taxes are harmful, which of course they are. The insanity begins when you start to claim taxes only harm certain people. We'll talk about that and all things IRS with Tom Cryer tonight at 10 (ET) / 7 (PT). Check out his TruthAttack.org. More than ever, we need to spread the word about the greatest lie perpetrated on the public-- that the country needs income taxation to thrive. Hell, it doesn't even need them to survive. Couple of things before we get to 2 days worth of links: One is there's a great deal going on the award winning Ledge Traue series. You can get all three in hard cover for only $49.95. (That's more than 30% off the going rate individually.) Del Staecker is a masterful writer. You've probably heard me talking with him. If you want to get lost in some great thrillers, this is the mystery series for you. On the other hand if you don't care for fiction, Del's multiple award-winning WW2 classic, "The Lady Gangster" is now 25% off. All are available at CablePublishing.com (oh yeah, on Amazon, and as a Kindle too-- but the great deals are at Cable Publishing). Next, whenever the World's Worst Hit Records come up for discussion, I can't help conducting a tour of the Honey House. (See the tree, how big it's grown?) Well my tour is greatly eclipsed by the Smothers' Brothers classic parody. It came out when the song did, and it's wonderful. Listener Steve found it on You Tube. If you hate Honey, or just want to laugh, check this out. And then there's a deal going on until Saturday at noon. If you're an owner operator, you've got to investigate "Cubby Buddy". It's impossible that you haven't been searching through your cubby for your tools, or having to move everything out to get to your tool box. That problem is solved elegantly and effectively by fellow driver Jeff who designed the solution. Check out his website at 16TonIndustries.com. If you like what you see (every driver we've contacted who has one in their cubby raves about it) there's a $20 savings off either the 20 inch or 24 inch model. But to get it, you've got to order by phone: 320-352-6820. The $20 off offer ends Saturday at noon (CT). I'll start with something we haven't discussed (I didn't learn about it until the show was ending) but will tonight: The House passed S.510-- so you're saying, wait, they passed their version last year! Indeed they did. But since the Senate screwed up on the wording of S.510 (by levying taxes, which only the House can do), the House took the bill, tacked it on to the defense bill as an add-on, passed, and now is sending the whole shebang back to the Senate. Yes we've been screwed. And here's even more bad news about what's in it. But that's not all the House did yesterday. They passed the DREAM Act (not by name they didn't, but they passed it nonetheless). Michelle Malkin's column lists the Republicans (8 of 'em, 6 lame ducks) who went for it. And here's the Roll Call of Shame. The good news is it's gonna have trouble being passed in the Senate. The bad news, is amnesty includes criminals. (And maybe the worst news, is there is nothing that deters the next wave of illegals from coming on down.) I'm afraid we're seeing Hegel in action with WIkiLeaks. You know about the Hegelian Dialectic-- problem/reaction/solution. It's entirely possible the government has created the furor, and I have a strong feeling that the solution is getting us agreeing to let them control the internet. Read this. But there's only so far he government can go. Don't forget that Hunting is not just a way to fill the freezer, it's a matter of national security. When the hunters in 4 states out number the largest army in the world, we've got more leverage than we realize. If you missed Obama unmasking his frustration. Here's the New York TImes take. Michelle Malkin punctuated it well too. So much for bipartisanship.... and Obamacare, the bill that was supposed to insure Americans. Well, the 222nd company has successfully gotten a waiver from it, lest their employees be without insurance. Remember when Anita Bryant said "A day without orange juice is alike a day without sunshine." Add the words "genetically-altered" to that juice, 'cause it will be soon. Mystery: Loving couple leave a party Saturday night. Neither had been drinking. The slick snow covered roads cause their car to careen off the road and into a pole. Husband is killed instantly. Wife has vanished. And I do mean vanished. He's found dead in the car, there are foot prints of hers and a slipper in one of them, leading to the road. Then the prints stop dead. Did she get into a vehicle with someone? After 3 days the search has been called off. There is absolutely no sign of Tanya Shannon, 40 years old, mother of four who by all accounts would never abandon her family. Where is she? Foul play? Aliens? Here's hoping there's a happy ending but right now hope is slim. But at least have a good time reading about Patsy Campbell, the 71 year old feisty Floridian who has been holding banks at bay for decades. In the mortgage industry, this case is known as 'the foreclosure from hell'.... and if you really want to laugh, the FBI is warning that the new Barbie doll could be used for kiddie porn. The surprising part to me is the $50 doll can capture 30 minutes of video. Memory is too darn cheap. It allows the government to put all of us in databases. Never mind Barbie. That thought is as obscene as it gets.
TUESDAY DECEMBER 7, 2010 2:30 AM (MT) I stand by the thought that Net Neutrality is the most important issue of our time. And Obama promised us that. And the FCC chief Julius Genachowski promised us that. Yesterday Genachowski outlined his version of it. It has absolutely nothing to do with neutrality and everything to do with content providers being allowed to discriminate and prioritize content based on their financial interest in it. In a nutshell, from the Washington Post here's what he said. What's interesting is that just last week the same writer, in the same paper was under the illusion that what he meant really was Net Neutral-- that providers would be prohibited from favoring or discriminating against any traffic over their networks. So much for this-- it didn't happen. Not only can they discriminate, but they don't even have to be reasonable about what they make it difficult for you to access. It's a crock and perhaps the most dangerous attack on our ability to find the information we want online. Here's more on it. And still more. Interesting that Comcast of course wants to discrimiate and Level 3 has other ideas. May this tie them up in knots... If you want to weigh in, SaveTheInternet.com has a nice and easy campaign for you to do so. The good news is that two of the commissioners, Copps & Clyburn, really are unwavering on Net Neutrality. We must tell them that we're behind them and this is an easy way to do it. Wanna laugh? Here's the official press release of Janet Napolitano annoucing the "If You See Something, Say Something" partnership with... Wal-Mart?! ....Wanna cry? The TSA pat downs hit the streets of Philadelphia, over 250,000 frisked-- and some folks think it's a great way to keep us safe.... More TSA atrocities? They're interrogating our soldiers returning home. This is insanity.... More passengers stripping down to their skivvies at the airport rather than being felt up all over. Time to laugh again. The government is telling employees not to look at the wikileaks cables... Time to cry... The government is threatening would be diplomats studying in college that they'll be disqualified if they look at wikileaks. Sadly, 1 in 3 Americans have already gotten flu shots this year and more say they will soon... And sadly, Ben Bernanke says it's a grim outlook for jobs over the next five years. Exactly what he thinks will happen then that might alleviate this situation is unknown, or implausible. What we do know, is the government and BP are lying about the state of the Gulf. All the oil is there, just on the floor. And on that note, I'll leave you until tonight's show.
FRIDAY DECEMBER 3, 2010 11:10 PM (PT) Friday Night Trivia answers and Bumper Stumpers are up under Trivia and Music to your left. Talk to you Monday night!
FRIDAY DECEMBER 3, 2010 4:30 AM (MT) Trivia tonight! 3 big hours. I'll be ready for you-- and with any luck I'll have links up from last night's show. Should have done it earlier, but.... 6:00 PM (MT) ... and as promised: Homeland Security is compiling an enemies list. Here's hoping every American will eventually be on it. None of us should tolerate fascism in a free country... speaking of which, it's the TSA that will check your status before issuing that boarding pass. They're now in charge of the watch list. Are you sure you want to fly? As expected, but still disappointing, a federal court rules Obamacare is constitutional. There's a long way to go before the Supreme Court and this case is hoping to be there-- and not alone..... someone mention Obamacare? Not SEIU. At least not anymore. The union which pushed Obamacare with all its might announced to its membership that they were dropping dependent child coverage due to Obamacare requirements. They revised that within 24 hours, but the truth is out-- they lied to their membership about the bill... Most with private insurance are learning the truth-- premiums are up dramatically. Delaying the preservation of the Bush tax cuts can not be to the benefit of the economy. When it comes to the capital gains rate, there's credible speculation that doing nothing will crash the market... Oh and that Simpson-Bowles plan for a flat tax? It is NOT the same as the Reagan '86 TRA. Reagan's tax bill was designed to be revenue neutral. Simpson- Bowles is a windfall for the government. Massachusetts' Scott Brown is standing on principle when he says he won't vote on a bill he hasn't had time to study. Unfortunately he's standing on the back of the unemployed. The benefits will stop, for the time being. Merry Christmas Baby.
THURSDAY DECEMBER 2, 2010 Don't hold your breath, but it's possible that S.510 is going no where but back to the beginning. Seems the Senate included a section that levies taxes. They didn't exactly call it that, but that's what it does-- and the House knows it. If you remember your history lessons, only the House can levy taxes so it's entirely possible that instead of reconciliation, this bill will be blue slipped back to the Senate. If so, it's doubtful the senate will have time to tackle it in this lame duck session. Here are the details, and here are the Top 10 lies about what's in the bill. I want you to hear a conversation with border patrol that wound up with a Canadian couple being put in jail. There are more questions than answers (like, how did this recording surface) but no matter how you take it, this is proof that America is a police state. I doubt the Dream Act will pass, but after what happened with S.510, I don't expect anything rational out of the lame duck session, so familiarize yourself with S.3992, the democratic senators' latest attempt at amnesty and call their offices to let them know what you think. Steve Bryant is one of our favorite people. His parodies are just a bonus of knowing him. (You can access them at SteveBryant.tv.) He's fighting cancer again and I'm sure it will be smooth sailing, but even so, I'd appreciate it if you'd join me in putting a word in with the man upstairs for Steve's swift recovery. The power of collective prayer is awesome and I'm hoping we can make a difference for a guy who has made a difference for so many of us.
WEDNESDAY DECEMBER 1, 2010 12:01 AM (MT) The Senate passed S.510. There aren't enough bad things to say about this bill. Incrementally, it's another nail in your freedom of self-direction. Here's the roll call. See how your senators did. Here's how much lobbyists paid each one of 'em to vote for this (and also how much they got from the anti-S.510 contingency). I didn't think this bill would come up in the lame duck-- and neither did some of the senators. Here's Sen. Michael Bennet (D-CO) saying (in his own words and voice) the whole thing is rigged.... one of the draconian provisions is the adoption of NAIS. I've growled about that for years, but if you don't know what it is, this will tell you. So the courts say that using someone else's social security number is not a crime, providing you don't know whose number it is. You'd think I'm making that up, but that's the ruling-- last year the US Supreme Court, now the Colorado Supreme Court. In both instances the cases are about illegals using social security numbers to get jobs and loans. (Well, most of 'em didn't steal the numbers. They bought them and they didn't care to whom they belong.) But it's outrageous to say it's not a crime if they didn't mean to commit one. Now, juxtapose that with this: Clean cut, highly educated, New Jersey man, 27, never accused of anything, let alone convicted, has two handguns in his trunk. He's serving 7 years in jail for that. No he didn't use 'em, didn't threaten to use 'em. Yes he bought them legally in Colorado where he was living. And no, the courts don't care. They don't care that he was raped in prison, either. Can't swear to that. His father calls it "an incident". This whole thing is a disgrace. Don't go to New Jersey. Don't buy anything from New Jersey. The senate voted down earmarks. Everyone talked about it. And right now it's just another weapon of mass distraction. didn't get to go over this one, other than to mention it, but since I did, you might want to know more about the airline captain who blew the whistle on the TSA, the one who is now fearing for his life. Imminent danger, he puts it.
