JANUARY 2010

FRIDAY JANUARY 29, 2010 10:30 PM Trivia answers are up under "Trivia" to your left, and Bumper Stumpers are up under "Music". If you wanted to hear Marty from Cal Ben Soap, that's downloadable from MyStreamingServer.com or catch it on the stream all weekend. Likewise you can catch Bill Quinn on the stream or download that segment from MyStreamingServer.com too.

Talk to you Monday. For now, forget about the world and enjoy a wonderful weekend.

FRIDAY JANUARY 29, 2010 4:00 AM (PT) Tonight we'll have Marty Schachter from Five Star Soap on in the first half hour. We had planned to have him Wednesday ,but we figured you'd want to vent about the State of the Union Address. (You did.. we'll get to that in a minute.) In the 2nd half hour we'll talk with Bill Quinn-- a veteran disc jockey from back in the day. Thanks to Nick in Baltimore for suggesting him. After that we'll have two hours of trivia. Please call!!

So Barack Obama spends the majority of his State of the Union Address on the economy and how he recognized the importance of turning it around. And then he punctuated it by saying he was committed to getting Cap & Trade passed (climate change legislation). Can you say Mutually Exclusive? Fortunately he also said he'd include provisions for off shore drilling and nuclear power. That'll get the democrats fighting among themselves and hopefully nothing will pass.

If you've been thinking Obama wants to get his agenda passed while he still has the power, you'd be right when you read about his philosophy of sacrificing reelection to be true to his ideals. In the unlikely event he gets a second term, HIllary won't be with him, or so she says.

The democrats are worried about the mid term elections, especially the third of the senate that's on the ballot this year. They've come up with a nutso plan to trap republicans by asking them if they're birthers and if they say no, then edging their tea-party counterparts on to oppose them. I know you won't believe me, so read about it here. Actually, answering their queries is a lot easier than they suspect. Questions like "Do you believe that Barack Obama is a U.S. citizen" can easily be addressed by saying 'Doesn't matter what I believe, ask the president to provide his long form birth certificate and everyone will have the answer.' For extra credit you might want to add, 'Just as you held hearings to investigate McCain's qualifications, if it's a burning question for you, I suggest you do the same for the President.'

With plans like that, no wonder polls are now saying that democratic control is bad for the country. Polls are also saying that Senator Specter is not doing well. Names out of the phone book probably have an advantage.

Last year Verizon fired over 13,000 employees in its land line division. They'll do it again this year. Glad more and more people realize they don't have to be hostage to their over priced, anti-customer service. Of course what they lost on land lines they made up on cellular service but they don't treat you any better their either. And they're not alone. All the majors share the same attitude and it's got the FCC probing into such practices as 'early termination fees'.

Las Vegas is the most foreclosed American city. No surprise there, or anywhere in the top 5, but the real chilling figures are in places like Rockford, IL which is hardly a retirement mecca or boom town. Rockford is as working class as it gets, and not high on anyone's destination list. Yet it, and several similar cities, find themselves way above the average default notice rate. And that's bad news because of the reason for the statistic-- job losses.

Tell me again why we're in Iraq. Could it possibly be because there's as much oil there as you'll find in Saudi Arabia. British Petroleum provides the figures. Meanwhle in China there's a cultural revolution. The prosperous urban dwellers don't want the rest of the country to continue to eat what others consider to be pets. Dogs and Cats are culinary staples for millions who can't understand why that's offlimits when cows, pigs and chickens are menu mainstays.

As far as I'm concerned, Jose Gomez should file a lawsuit and own the San Ysidro school board. He signed a form for the middle school his child attends saying he did not want her to receive the H1N1 vaccine. His daughter tried to refuse it last week, saying she didn't want it and her parents didn't want her to get it and.. you guessed it, they forced her to take it. No possible excuse is acceptable as far as I'm concerned.

You might consider homeschooling. Though some states are making it harder to do, it's still legal in America-- unlike Germany. And so it is that a German family has been given political asylum over their convictions that they home school the kids.

THURSDAY JANUARY 28, 2010 12:01 AM (PT) The United States has broken every treaty it has made with Native Americans and the atrocities aren't all past tense. The IRS auctioned land belonging to the Crow Creek Sioux Tribe last month under dubious conditions. So much for being a sovereign nation. Would the BIA help? Yes-- they'd help the IRS. Did the tribe owe the money? Probably not but here's the biggest point-- they had the money to pay if this were just about money. It's about a land grab that is not only illegal but unconscionable. And it's not over. Brandon Sazue is the chairman of the tribe and he joins us tonight.

About that State of the Union Address, here's the text. Here's the republican rebuttal. And here's the bottom line: Obama came so far to the center that he almost channeled Ronald Reagan. Almost. This does not signal a change of heart for Obama, simply a change of tactic in the face of irrefutable evidence that America is not on his political page. Almost laugh out loud funny was the idea that his administration would be open and lobbyists would be transparent. This from the administration that has been more secretive, combative and clandestine over health care than any administration has ever been about anything. Speaking of health care he still thinks our problem is we just don't understand what's in the bill. Maybe the problem is he doesn't know what's in the bill-- and that's giving him the biggest benefit of the doubt.

Also hilarious, while Obama promises to end the 'deficit of trust', Pelosi & Reid plot how to pass Obamacare without public support. The dems vow they'll do it, too. I don't doubt them but I would like to stop them.

WEDNESDAY JANUARY 27, 2010 1:30 AM (PT) Tonight's State of the Union address may not be the most interesting presidential speech but the speculation beforehand will likely be the most revealing. Bottom line: I wouldn't want to be Obama right now. If I were, I guess I'd think if I move to the center, my base will say I've caved; if I don't, the majority of America will think I'm not remotely in sync with them. And even if I do make that centrist move, it's doubtful those who don't think I'm doing a good job (which is increasingly a very large number) won't believe I've had a change of heart, which of course I won't be having because I firmly believe in my socialist goals. That's just my peculation of course, but it doesn't come close to the speculation Americans are doing about what he'll say.

Christian Newswire has set up a scorecard if you want to keep track on how often Obama blames Bush, blames corporate America, the bankers, talk radio or America in general. I Hate The Media has a wonderful guide on how to tell the difference between the TV show Lost and the State Of The Union address. We'll compare notes tonight. One thing I know for sure, he'll try to educate us on why Obamacare is the way to go. He's already vocalized the problem we're having because he hasn't discussed it enough. Maybe we need another yardstick-- a condescending scale. How insulting can he be to the intelligence and awareness of those who aren't on board with his vision?

Speaking moving to the center, word is Obama will suggest a freeze on discretionary government spending. I'm not sure that will fly any better than the now very old standby, blame Bush. And speaking of old standards, it's textbook psychology-- we humans often accuse others of doing things that we might do if we were in their shoes. Let me give you an example. Democrats are accusing conservatives and republicans of organizing supporters into a unified force against their progressive ideas. They claim that Tea Party members, for instance, are being led and manipulated by orchestrators against Obama. And why would they think that? Because that's exactly what they do.

They're even advertising for employees-- $24,000 a year to rally opponents of.... Glenn Beck?! Yes, none other. 32 directors of offices in 32 cities designed to marshall opposition to talk show hosts. Oh yeah, they have to support Obama too.

Driving commercially? Forget texting. Any 4 wheelers on board with this? You're next. On board with that? The desire to control you in your vehicle won't stop with texting.

TUESDAY JANUARY 26, 2010 12:30 AM (PT) A big big thank you to everyone who donated to LimbsForCarla.org. Carla got her leg before Christmas thanks to you! We talked with her husband, over the road trucker Gary, last week. He gave us a few updates. Carla's back on her feet and doing everything she can to walk without assistance, but she's also discovering just how grueling the physical therapy will be. He asked if some of us would drop her a line of encouragement. If you have a moment, please click here. An email form will pop up and you can let her know we're all pulling for her. Last year I told Carla & Gary she'd have her leg before last Christmas. Now I'm promising she'll walk unaided before next Christmas. With our support, I know she will. Thanks for being a part of it.

I don't want to minimize the importance of Republican Scott Brown's Senate win in Massachusetts last week. It has not only set Obamacare back but the entire Obama agenda and for that I am grateful to the voters. That said, don't go thinking that Sen. Brown is the guy you've been waitin' for. At least not if you're a conservative. Brown is proud to have been part of Romney Care and wants to bring it to Washington (yes, horrific but true, he doesn't like the form and content of Obamacare but is on board with the concept), he's voted to increase property taxes, voted against eliminating income taxes, raised fees and more. So this is not a guy you want to go places. But he is someone who will be reminded as to why voters put him on Capitol Hill and just by being there and being anti-Obamacare, it's a good outcome. And we'll watch him closely.

The democrats meanwhile are trying to come up with every conceivable way to pass healthcare now and are falling short. Did Obama's camp plant these stories, or do newspapers not have much praise about him from which to choose? I'm not sure who should be embarrassed more. The papers or the desperate supporters.

One thing that is undeniable about socialized medicine: rationing. By its very definition Obamacare is no different than any other government scheme. And that's fine on paper until it's your baby who is left to die. Should the taxpayers have to bear unreasonable burdens for poor prognoses? No. But parents should also have a choice what plan they'll buy-- or whether they'll self pay. Why is it when someone can't pay for the care needed it's unfair and unjust but when the state can't pay it's fair and equitable?

Global warming? Over 40 people die in Europe during the latest cold snap. Water? It's not a right it's a privilege and the delta smelt (a small fish) is more important than farmers. Never mind California agriculture, let's import everything from China. Asparagus anyone?

I guess small fish are more important than big pigs. Or maybe there's another reason that it's OK to blast live animals to kingdom come in warfare experiments? It is in the UK.

Congress went to Denmark. You heard all about the climate change summit. You didn't hear you'd be paying the more than million dollar price tag. Part of the problem was the hotel bill. Nancy Pelosi's staff explained that they tried very hard but were unsuccessful in negotiating a better rate. Let me get this straight: we want people to negotiate a climate change treaty who can't manage to work out a deal for a better rate at the Marriott?

Union membership is down 10% in the private sector. And it's not just because there are 10% less jobs. You can bet unions will be doing everything imaginable to get card-check passed (the bill that eliminates confidential voting for unionization). We'll do everything possible to stop that.

Credit card defaults hit near records with no relief in sight. Recovery? Foreclosures are so high, Bank of America has again taken the wrong homes in the rush. Here's a case where a family's belongings were thrown out and locks were changed-- even though the family had clear title and no dealings with the bank.

FRIDAY JANUARY 22, 2010 10:30 PM (PT) Trivia answers are up-- click on "Trivia" to your left. For the Bumper Stumpers click on "Music".

Plenty to talk about Monday. If you're celebrating over Scott Brown's Massachusetts victory, before you go overboard you might want to know that Mr. Brown was instrumental in the passage of Massachusetts' health care bill and he's not opposed to a federal version-- just the one in front of him. So as for a real antidote to Obama, not sure we'll get it with this guy. But as for the message that we are not in agreement with Obama on Healthcare or much of anything else, then carry on with your joyful noise because that part of Tuesday's result is absolutely true. And much as Pelosi, Reed and Obama would like to spin it, the American people have spoken, and it's not because they're misinformed about what's in Obamacare. We know exactly what's in it. We'll get into all of it again Monday, but for now, have a carefree weekend and be good to yourself.

FRIDAY JANUARY 22, 2010 12:01 AM (PT) If you missed Venus and Summer on the last show, it will stream until tonight's program, and will be available as a download for quite a while at MyStreamingServer.com. Speaking of tonight's program, we'll have 3 big hours of trivia. I've done my part. Yours is to call. Talk to you then!

THURSDAY JANUARY 21, 2010 2:01 AM (PT) Want to know what the future holds? You won't find out by listening to Barack Obama unless you distrust every word coming out his mouth. You'd have much better luck asking a psychic. And I probably will tonight, though politics won't be the focus. You've probably hear Venus Andrecht on with me before. Her personality is infectious and her information is insightful. Tonight she'll be on with her daughter, Summer McStravick who is not only a visionary but she's developed a system that will let you achieve your dreams. Think it's impossible? You'll really want to listen tonight.

If you want to see them in action, go to Vibrancetv.com and watch the "FlowMojoShow". You can catch it live every other Wednesday and or see the archives anytime. And be sure to check out their radio shows, every Tuesday. "Dear Venus" is on at 1 PM (PT) and "Flowdreaming" is on at 4 PM (PT) both on ContactTalkRadio.com.

You can also check out Summer's Flowdreaming.com where you'll find out more about the concept and how to get private sessions and CDs; and Venus' GodIsAlwaysHappy.com for her private reading info. Not ready for something private? Keep in mind Venus & Summer do on air free readings on both the TV and their radio shows. I admit it, I listen to a lot of psychic/spiritual/paranormal shows and seldom does someone impress me with their personality. You'll hear why I feel that way about Venus and Summer tonight.

The first time I met Venus, it was when she was the MLM Queen. Only good taste prohibits me from telling you how much this woman has made from network marketing, but I can tell you how she did it. Two things: Her irrepressible spirit and her belief in what she was selling. So I wasn't surprised to hear she was at it again. Check out SkinnyVenus.com for details about a good tasting coffee that burns waist fat. (I vouch for Venus-- I can't vouch for the coffee-- I've yet to have my first cup of any coffee, but if you drink the stuff, I bet this is one worth trying.)

So Obama says he lost touch with the American People last year. That's putting it mildly. Of course "lost" is not a word I'd use. He's never been in touch with the real values of most Americans. And therefore his idea that all has gone wrong (like Health Care) because he didn't take the time to explain it sufficiently to you, is hogwash. Not only that it's demeaning, insulting and condescending. We're not misinformed about what's in Obamacare, we're outraged at what is. Misleading is a government given. Here's how the CDC is misleading Americans about truth concerning H1N1 and the vaccine for it.

But don't get too excited about Scott Brown's future. While his win in Massachusetts is an encouraging public revelation about how voters feel, he may not be much different from any other republican. Recording campaign calls for John McCain to be played for Arizona voters is not an encouraging sign. (Likewise Sarah Palin touting Texas Gov. Perry is demoralizing too-- she's promoting a guy who among other things tried to mandate Gardasil vaccines, furthered socialized medicine in the state and sounds more like the democrat he used to be than who he claims to be now?

Orly Taitz is back in court next week. Same judge in Orange County California-- Carter-- but this time new case-- Obama fraud. I'll go out on a fence here and call it-- same outcome: Denied. That's not to say the Obama birth issue isn't real and important, just to say Taitz' case won't do it. Anytime you see anyone spending 1.5 million dollars to obscure a five dollar piece of paper, you know there's a story. But as to what that story might be, there are a variety of versions (and no there is no truth to the email spam that says Occidental College has released Barry Soetoro's records and he got aid as a foreign student-- he may well have, but Occidental is not talkin' or releasing). The latest is that the joke he made at a dinner in 2008 really is true: his first name IS Steve. According to this researcher, he was born Steve Dunham. Add it to the speculation list.

So here we are in Haiti ignoring the importance of local customs. VooDoo priests are horrified by the mass burials and it isn't wise to ignore their core beliefs.

Good news? You want good news: A cell phone price war may save you money. Bad news? If the majors wipe out their price busting small competitors, perhaps the prices will not be low for long. Hopefully that speculation is wrong.

Wrong? I'll give you wrong: The repo man takes your car-- with your 2 year old kid in it. By the time the driver knew it, the cops already had the helicopters going. This is a mess.

WEDNESDAY JANUARY 20, 2010 2:05 AM (PT) The Massachusetts victory of Republican Scott Brown is telling in all the ways the democrats will never admit. It's an absolute indictment against the Obama administration in a heavily democratic area. Even more revealing will be what Obama and Pelosi do next. Pelosi, even before the win, was assuring the world that she'd get health care passed no matter who was in the senate.

Sen. Kerry meanwhile was saying that Brown's followers created a 'dangerous atmosphere' and Brown was bullying and threatening. Do you think there are four seasons on Kerry's planet? Of course it is a reflection on the tactics that his party is undertaking in saying health care will pass no matter what the voters think.

Voters? What would a Massachusetts election be without dead voters? Fortunately the spread between Coakley and Brown was sufficient to eclipse the dirty tricks squad but as for voting from beyond, this time it was state sanctioned.

Even if Obamacare does pass, the lawsuits will keep on coming. Now the Florida AG is threatening one. New York plans to cut healthcare expenses-- and raise taxes. The governor's new budget includes those cuts-- and a billion dollars in new taxes.

The bureaucrats and assorted other interests in and around the military are upset over thousands and thousands of gun sights being used by our troops in the middle east. It's not a question of quality or reliability. It's the numerical bible verse references on each one. This is gonna cost tax payers some money but at least the fight will be fun.

Think your secure online info is secure? What if strangers could get onto your private sites without even trying? Read this and realize there is no online privacy. Hell, there's no privacy at all. The FBI admits it broke the law for years to obtain phone records. Over 2,000 times.

Worried about eating genetically modified food? Maybe you need to increase that to worrying about eating animals that eat genetically modified food. Here's one story, and here's another one detailing the earth inhabitants (like worms) now exhibiting the GMO markers. Mmm Mmm good.

TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 19, 2009 12:01 AM (PT) We'll have a lot to talk about tonight. No matter what the outcome of Massachusetts senate election, it will be very revealing. Some democrats recommend voting 10 times to get Coakley in office. Never mind that it's illegal, it's also against all the principles they claim to uphold. But it's straight out the Alinsky playbook-- do whatever it takes no matter legality, morality or anything else because all means are justified when socialism is the end.

But in case that doesn't work, the democrats have another plan-- a few of them actually: 1. Have the House pass the senate bill, then they can bypass senate approval. 2. Convince a republican (think Olympia Snowe) to vote with the democrats in the senate or.... delay the certification of a republican winner until Kennedy's interim seat holder, Paul Kirk, votes. There will be a big debate on whether Kirk can vote but that won't stop Obamacare supporters from going this route.

Then there's always election fraud. In an area where the voting boxes are notoriously vulnerable to tampering-- from a technical and personnel standpoint-- with no paper trail of verification, any reason to think anyone can count on the results? The most encouraging thing right now are the poll numbers. Coakley is in free fall and Brown has an almost double digit advantage. But Coakley meanwhile has support. ACORN gives her an A+.

Even if you abhor Obamacare (and I do), you've got to recognize that there are problems with the current system both public and private. When it comes to public, the 2 year waiting period for medicare imposed on disabled workers is a killer, sometimes literally. But does Obamacare address that? Of course not, it's too expensive. Still think it's about helping the people? Read this.

Confirmed: The democrats are going to put forth legislation that would require passive voter registration-- meaning the government would register all of us. You know how good they are at everything else. Of course if you want 'vote early, vote often' rules, you'll love their plans.

The economy: How bad is it? According to those who have a reason to know, they conservatively say that our debt will dwarf the GDP. Worse yet, the only way out is much bigger taxes, or heavy cuts on social security, medicare & medicaid. Don't think the economy is a mess? Here's 11 clear signs that we're in deep trouble. Note #8-- 22 to 29% of jobs currently existing will be outsource-able within 20 years.

Haiti? Many people talking about our exit strategy. Problem is, we don't have an entrance strategy. France and Venezuela are damning US military involvement, but that's just the half of it. Will our military be allowed to defend themselves when things go very bad? Will they be allowed to restore order when it takes shooting? Our Marines are often in harms way physically but is this a case where poor planning from superiors and politicians will have them potentially in harms way legally? Unanswered questions but one thing is certain-- it's an absolute tragedy in Haiti right now. No time to talk about deals with the devil in the 18th century, or even corrupt government in the 20th century through today. The focus should be on right now-- and how to effectively get help directly to the people who need it while protecting those Americans providing that help. We'll sort out the rest later and there will be plenty of sorting to do.

FRIDAY JANUARY 15, 2009 10:30 PM (PT Trivia answers are up (click on "Trivia" to your left). Bumper Stumpers are up (under "Music"). And I'm up for talkin' to you on Monday night at 7 (PT) / 10 (ET).

FRIDAY JANUARY 15, 2010 12:01 AM (PT) Trivia tonight! 3 big hours starting at 7 Pacific / 10 Eastern. Call in!

Good to talk with Jerry Corsi as always. The hour is downloadable at MyStreamingServer.com and will also repeat on the stream until tonight's show. You'll want to check out his article on the government's plan to grab your 401K/IRA accounts. And if you haven't heard about Amnesty's Greatest Hits, HR 4321 will infuriate you. Fortunately the 92 co sponsors are the usual gang of idiots and hardly indicative of how the full house would vote.

Vote? Bad enough you can't rely on electronic voting machines with no paper trail. Now the democrats have a passive registration plan to get everyone to vote. Even if they have no idea they're included. Retail sales fell in December. Surprised economists-- but not anyone paying attention. Good news/bad news: credit card debt has plunged... could it be because no one has anymore credit.. or money to repay it?

All the things you're hearing on this show and many like it, all the things the government and the talking heads won't tell you? Cass Sunstein wants to outlaw such conversations, or at least tax out of business those of us who spread the word.

Eclipse today and Mercury goes direct. Here's one explanation though if you check around online you'll find more than you'll ever want to read.

THURSDAY JANUARY 14, 2009 12:01 AM (PT) We'll talk to Jerry Corsi tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT. You can find several of his books on the Links page, including "America For Sale" and boy is it ever. We'll talk about all sorts of things, like how much Americans have turned against Obamacare (the poll numbers prove it-- American's don't like the way Obamacare is being handled. Don't like it at all. That hasn't stopped Obama though.) and a lot more. Unemployment figures (recovery? The "official" unemployment rate in construction is 22.7% --double it and you're probably closer to the truth), the Fruit of the Boom bomber and more.

Speaking of America For Sale, American's also don't like how the bailout was handled. (Like that's news.) Who can blame them. Let me see if I got it right. The banks got billions in a bailout and the stock market and investment funds are booming. Shouldn't it all be paid back with a lot of interest? That wasn't raised at the Financial Crisis Commission hearing on the Hill this week, but there were a lot of tap dancing bankers. And some arrived in private planes. Of course.

Lots of debates about the provisions in the Patriot Act, a truly constitution bending document. Similar arguments throughout the world where rights were also taken away in the name of protecting us from terrorism. Fascinating that all the debate skip one obvious question? If we need these incursions on our freedom, shouldn't they be strictly limited for use in directly deterring terrorism and prohibited for anything else? Of course no government is talking about that, because all of them are abusing their terrorism tool. None so much as the UK though where the tax enforcers are using draconian provisions 15 times a day on average to catch minor tax cheats. They don't admit it.

You've heard about the coming food shortage? Is it real? Hard to say but you might want to wonder if it isn't manufactured to adulterate the organic food industry which is being pressured to accept genetically modified crops. Just say no.

Wal-Mart taking over the world? It may look like it but the real problem is the laws and treaties allowing them to do it.

Just as I predicted. ACORN in California is changing it's name to ACCE (Alliance of Californians for Community Empowerment). They'll tell you it's a new organization... with the same management, same employees, same mission and same donors. New organization? Yeah, of course it is.

Another lawsuit against CAIR. This one from five former clients. The most interesting part is the allegation that hundreds of former clients who were defrauded got their money back if they signed a statement demanding their silence to law enforcement and the media and threatening those who talked with a $25,000 judgement.

And I know I'll get questions about it-- so here's more on the Pledge of Allegiance. You might think twice before seeing it as patriotic. It isn't-- at least not in the way our forefathers had intended. However, if you want to government supremecy over freedom, it presents a fine opportunity.

WEDNESDAY JANUARY 13, 2009 12:01 AM (PT) Any hope that the New York Fed and Tim Geithner would be hoisted by their own petard or perhaps AIG would be unmasked for its actions are dashed by this SEC ruling-- the docs that would give us all the info are sealed until November, 2018. By then we'll have much worse problems the way it's going.

The IRS commissioner admits he doesn't file his own taxes. That's not as bad as it sounds personally-- he's saying he has a tax preparer do it because the code is too complicated-- that is as bad as it sounds governmentally.

Then there's the Florida grandmother jailed and shackled for 15 days over a bureaucratic snafu stemming from a DMV mix up. This says it all.

Good news-- the judge rules against CAIR in their suit against the authors of "Muslim Mafia". Laughably they want to deny the authors their first amendment rights-- the same ones CAIR used when successfully defending themselves from Michael Savage's suit. This ruling doesn't end the case-- just their ability to stop the authors from further spreading the word for now. CAIR has until Monday to reply to the authors' motion to dismiss the whole thing. They've got a lot of work to do.

Flying soon? In addition to invasive screening, you'll pay more to check bags. $23 for your first one $32 for a second. And god knows who you'll be flying with. And here's a story about a guy with active TB who had no trouble boarding in Philadelphia and flying to San Francisco. I'll stay home thank you. Then again, that's probably the plan-- ground us all.

TUESDAY JANUARY 12, 2009 12:01 AM (PT) Talk about your Catch-22. Either AIG misled the government and the people about where their bailout funds were being repaid (think Goldman Sachs)-- which is illegal, or they followed the New York Federal Bank's request not to divulge the info (which would be an illegal action on behalf of the NY Fed) and you know who was running the NY Fed then-- one Tim Geithner who could face criminal charges over this. So with any luck it will all come out in the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform hearings chaired by Rep. Ed Towns (D. NY). Stay tuned.

Speaking of money be very afraid of this. The US Treasury and Labor Department will start asking for comments this week on ways to promote the conversion of 401Ks and IRAs into annuities. Yes, they want to grab your savings. 7 out of 10 households oppose it being a requirement-- but then again most Americans opposed Obamacare too-- as well they should when you read this comparison between US medical outcomes and those in the UK and Canada. Don't miss Harry Reid's words "Elderly Americans must learn to accept the inconveniences of old age." I wondered if it was even remotely possible he said it, then I heard what he said about Obama.

I won't belabor it, but here's the republican reaction and here's the democrat defense to his ignorant and blatantly bigoted statements. Of course Obama doesn't speak in "negro dialect", just as no presidential candidate of any stripe or color would display anything other than their education and purported intelligence. Shame on the NAACP for giving him a pass. Reid's words revealed more about him than any cover up could possibly mask.

Hearing reports about stock market growth and a turn around economy? They forgot to mention jobs which are as bad as it gets-- and possibly getting worse.

Watch Friday's Comcast appellate court action. They want to block the FCC's net neutrality laws. If they do, it's terrible news for anyone looking for unfettered access to the internet. Other broadband providers will have a field day with a ruling in Comcast's favor. The free marketplace argument is totally bogus-- do you have a choice of cable providers? Hardly. Do you have an option other than cable broadband? That depends on your location and even if you're lucky enough to have some variety, it isn't much at all-- so allowing those who do provide the broadband pipe to your door to be able to differentiate as to what traffic arrives: what comes quickly, what trickles in and what doesn't arrive at all; changes the landscape in very detrimental ways. Sure they have the right to charge for bandwidth-- and they should-- as much as they want, actually. But they shouldn't have the right to differentiate between what services you access. Period.

Imagine being on a commercial flight and not being able to trust the pilot's judgement. That's what happened on a Hawaiian Air flight from Portland to Maui. A passenger who had the nerve to want to sit close to his carry-on luggage was deemed more of a hazard when he filled out a comment card. He wrote a rambling note about how he was afraid the plane might crash and if it did and he wound up on Gilligan's Island and lived through it it would be his luck that the only female would be Mrs. Howell and he'd rather be with headhunters, and why do cannibals only eat outsiders anyway instead of their own family. I paraphrased it, but it's here.

No one in their right mind could possibly think this was a threat. It wasn't even designed to be read on board. It was sealed US mail that was supposed to reach the corporate offices. A flight attendant opened it, gave it to the pilot who saw the need to turn the plane around (well into the trip) and be escorted back to Portland by two US fighter jets. I couldnt make this up if I tried. It was the military that called in the F-15s when they noticed the plane turned around an hour over the Pacific. But it was the pilot who decided it was a threat. The worst part was the initial chatter after the article first appeared online had the majority of people demanding the guy be charged... with something. The FBI initially said he wouldn't be. But he has-- a federal felony-- disrupting a flight and it carries a 20 year sentence. The guy who wrote the card in turn says they opened a sealed envelope.. isn't that federal crime? I side with the failed comedian here. And I surely wouldn't want to fly with a pilot who exhibits that kind of judgement call. What would he do in a real emergency? I hope no one has to find out.

Facebook's founder says no one expects privacy anymore. Maybe he's write. Most people say the body scanners at airport are OK, fine. They'll let someone see down to the pores on their skin if it keeps them safe (that Faustian bargain, giving up your freedom for security has never worked, but nevermind). Don't think it can see your warts? Think again. Body scanners can see the everything in fine detail, save the images and circulate them-- but that wouldn't happen says the government.

SATURDAY JANUARY 9, 2010 12:01 AM (PT) Trivia answers are up (under "Trivia" to your left) and Bumper Stumpers are up (under "Music").

Apologies to those of you who use the progressive downloads of the show, last night I forgot to upload Thursday's. It's up now at MyStreamingServer.com and tonight's show is up as usual. Talk to you Monday.

FRIDAY JANUARY 8, 2009 3:00 AM (PT) Happy Birthday to Val Shively-- he shares his birthday with Elvis and we promise not to play any Elvis records tonight on Friday Night Trivia, though we probably well have a few diddies Val will like, and lots of questions for you, so please call.

I never thought I'd see the day when the White House would conduct a teaser campaign prior to a presidential speech, but that's what happened this week. The White House assured us we'd be shocked by yesterday's report on the attempted terrorist attack (by the guy not charged with terrorism). Shocked, I tell ya. Read this summary and tell me if you're shocked. I wasn't even mildly surprised, except perhaps by his saying that the whole thing was a systematic failure but that no one was getting fired. First on my list would be Janet "the system worked" Napolitano, but the wagons are circling around the NCTC director who chose to continue skiing rather than investigate the matter. No shock either that Chertoff suggests we install body scanners when he has business dealings with the company that makes them.

Then there's Executive Order 13527 of December 30, 2009. Obama ha established the federal capability for the timely provision of medical countermeasures following a biological attack. You won't be comforted to know the USPS is heavily involved. They know where you live. You don't think the government will be mailing you the antidote, do you? Check out the part about police escorts and worry about those forced vaccines, not mentioned of course.

Look no further than prison when you're trying to find a hotbed for islamic conversion. And look no further than an unindicted co-conspirator of violent jihad when you wonder who is the first certified muslim chaplin for the Illinois State Police. If the name Sheikh Kifah Mustapha doesn't sound familiar, read this.

Not sure that last story has anything to do with prison, but this does: The 9th circuit court of appeals ruled that Washington state felons must be allowed to vote. If the Supreme Court takes the case and rules similarly, left leaning groups will have a one-stop voter drive in most states.

Been hearing about the Jordanian double agent who killed 7 CIA workers over the holidays? His wife doubts, to put it mildly, that he was working for the CIA or anyone else. "He was someone who did not like to leave home."

Outrage of the night? The director of communications for the Recovery Accountability and Transparency Board says "our job is data integrity, not data quality." What the hell could that possibly mean? We're talking here of the billions and billions of dollars listed at recovery.gov that went to fake zip codes, fictional districts and far flung locales. The site is designed to give us confidence in the stimulus bill-- we'll know where our money is. No we won't and neither will anyone else-- and when we dare to ask, we're told his job is data integrity not data quality. Maybe you can figure this out. But even if not, you'll bristle at the mistakes. Are these the people you want handling your medical records? Or anything else?

Speaking of medical-- Ben Nelson dances more furiously by the moment. Sidestepping the issue of all the money he got for Nebraska, he says the senate shouldn't be tackling health care now any way-- but he adds, even if the provision for Nebraska's windfall is taken out in committee, he'll still vote for the bill that he once vehemently opposed. Huh?

Gov. Schwarzenegger once the poster boy for Obamacare (a Republican who endorsed it) has switched sides. He says 'give the Nebraska deal to California or drop the whole thing. Congress will do neither. Do you realize that not only will your healthcare costs go up under this crappy legislation, but married couples will be disproportionately penalized?

No jobs out there? The feds are hiring. Here's a sample of what's available now but don't consider state or local governments. They're in firing mode.

They don't call it the 'people's republic of Minnesota' for nothing, though the law that takes effect Monday is more fascist than socialist. Everyone who gets a prescription drug with habit forming possibilties (think OxyContin, Vicodin and their cousins) will be put into a state database available for all health professionals to check before writing another one. Where does it stop? Don't answer that, but do play trivia tonight.

THURSDAY JANUARY 7, 2009 3:00 AM (PT) When major mainstream media highlights Obama's lies, you know it's bad. And it doesn't get worse than repeatedly promising an open dialog complete with CSPAN cameras for the healthcare legislative process only to get in office and close the doors tighter than they've ever been. Like Nancy Pelosi, Obama will do whatever it takes, public sentiment be damned. Here's the CBS report.

Got some requests for a synopsis of Obamacare. Here's the Heritage foundations take on the Senate bill and here's their take on the House bill. Bottom line, it's bad. Very bad.

Update on the Swedish kid taken forcibly from his parents from a flight to their new home in India because they dared to homeschool the 7 year old. They followed all the rules, but that wasn't enough. Last month a Swedish court upheld the taking and allows the parents 1 hour every 5 weeks with their son beginning this month. Not good. Not good at all.

As for the missing Arrow driver we've been discussing, a formal missing persons report has been filed in Texas. Here's what we know. John "JR" Eischens drove for Arrow for about a month until the drivers were stranded on the road when the company shut down with no notice. JR's truck was found at a truckstop in Butte, MT. It had been there since Christmas day. The keys were in it and he had cleaned out all his belongings. He has not been seen and no one has heard from him since the 24th. His phone has been shut off since then. There's a picture of him here. And an article here with contact numbers if you see him. He's 6'1", 200 lbs, short dishwater blonde hair. Please pray for him and his family. Thanks.

Speaking of radio, if you remember The Nitecaps, Herb Jepko's national overnight radio show in the 60s and 70s, then you'll recall his wife Patsy. Herb's no longer with us, but Patsy is alive and well and it's her 84th birthday today! Happy Birthday Patsy. If you'd like to send her a card, write to Patsy Jepko c/o Joe Buchman, Box 983055, Park City, UT 84098.

End of uplifting news. Now for the amazing atrocities. Nothing tops Nancy Pelosi-- in general, but specifically in this instance as she actually says "There has never ben a more open process for any legislation." She's describing Obamacare which the House passed on a Saturday night and the Senate passed at 1 AM (cloture) and on Christmas Eve. Doesn't get more secret than this. In both cases, discussion was thwarted and as you know Obama himself barred all but his democratic supporters on the HIll from a closed door conference. So why is Pelosi proclaiming otherwise? Because she's punctuating it with the reconciliation will not be in public view. At least she's honest about this: "We will do what is necessary to pass the bill." That is the understatement of the century

CSPAN would like to change that-- they're taking Obama up on his campaign promise of the debate being on television and they've offered to get the cameras running pronto. Republicans would love it. Democrats are mute. Don't count on it. Some are saying the bill is socialism. They're wrong. It's fascism at its finest. You'll pay for private allopathic care even if you prefer homeopathic medicine which won't be covered.

Forced sterilization? It happened recently to this mom in Massachusetts without her knowledge or consent.

So... we're considering bombing Yemen because of it harbors terrorists? Think again. The IMF, World Bank, US and others have increased Yemeni debt from $8 milion to $5.9 billion between July & September of last year. (It's probably more now.) The government is unstable and a revolution could topple it. Then Yemen wouldn't repay all that international banking money. Can't have that. So better invade. Doubt that's true? Well wait until you read the connection between the plane bomber's dad and the country. Did you know he's THE banker in Nigeria?

Here's more on what we're doing in Yemen and why and who our target probably was. Expect to hear more news on why we should attack 'em. Like the 6 trucks of explosives that disappeared recently.

But the airlines will keep us safe..... from Joan Rivers. Continental refused to let her travel home from Costa Rica Sunday.

More outrages? A 13 year old in the UK is suing the child support agency which is trying to bankrupt her custodial father to give the money to mom who pays no support and doesn't see the kid. This is lunacy. Just like the lunacy of global warming during the coldest winter in decades.

Think it's better on the local level? Here's a judge who drags people out of his court room and has them drug tested on no pretense other than his "hunch". Be afraid. Very afraid.

TUESDAY JANUARY 5, 2009 2:30 AM (PT) A lot of folks knock conspiratorialists, calling them paranoid and worse, but how on earth can anyone not go there when we've got a government that repeatedly lies to us. Latest case in point: Flight 253. Witnesses swore two men were arrested. The government asserted for over a week that it was only 1. They almost slandered passengers in denying their claims. But now, likely because so many passengers are saying the same thing and pressuring the government to come clean, suddenly yes, another man was handcuffed and arrested. It boggles the mind as to why they'd lie, but it's downright frightening to see how sincerely they do it.

Then there was Newark. More questions than answers about Sunday's security breach which greatly inconvenienced those waiting and waiting and waiting to board. The question still remains, what was the guy who entered unscreened via the exit doing before he left 20 minutes later? Beats me.

Global warming? No wonder the climate nazis are calling it climate change. Record low temperatures everywhere. And snow. And a lousy economy. When you add that together you get word that in some places snow removal will be an afterthought. Other places realize political careers end over this.

About the economy- unemployment benefits will dry up by 2011, but the feds have $340 million dollars to tell us to fill out the census form on April 1. 10 questions, and hardly invasive. I'm aghast at government intrusion but unless I'm missing something, no reason to decline to answer what they're asking.

One of the census question asks if you own your house. Fewer people will once the second wave of mortgage defaults hits. And hit it will. Here's why. It's all about the option ARMs where a number of people are negatively amortizing and will hit the wall soon. Of course if you've got financial problems you might opt for this religious advice. A priest in the UK suggests you shoplift. I am not making this up.

So Obamacare will be financed by medicare savings? Uh oh, before any savings are contemplated, the reimbursement rates are so low that Mayo in Arizona has stopped accepting Medicare at one of their clinics. They've lost a fortune and they're not alone. Saving Medicare money? Only two ways and neither works-- reimburse less or cover less and there's no wiggle room on either. But many Obamites cite the NHS as a sterling example. Well not the family of this 15 year old who died of a heart attack after being misdiagnosed with the flu.

Signs of things to come? AT&T wants out of the landline business. 700,000 customers a month drop traditional phone service-- for all the reasons you know. (Plug: VYL Media is the absolute best at VoIP-- world's best customer service.)

No surprise that the frustration level of Americans is through the roof. Case in point is this woman who punched her fist through the drive-thru window at McDonalds when they were out of Chicken Mcnuggets. The fruit parfait would have been a healthier, cheaper choice. And the fries would have tasted better. So many options besides being lacerated by broken glass.
