SEPTEMBER 2009

WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 30, 2009 6:00 PM (PT) Happy Birthday to everyone celebrating today. Seems there are throngs of you-- must be that New Year's Eve syndrome. 9 months later and... Jon, Fig and Carla among the celebrants. Hope it's happy.

Since it's Carla's birthday, if you haven't yet donated to Limbs For Carla, click here and do it. I did. Even a couple bucks will help.

So how is Obama's popularity? Not good if you look at the teeshirt index. Those selling Pro-Obamawear are not making out like they were previously, and those who are selling Anti-Obamawear are getting kicked out of the mall. None to worry, it's turning out to be a thriving online business.

More Obamacare lies? In this case, by omission.. You've been told that the fine for not buying health insurance will be $1,900 dollars. But what happens if you don't pay it? That's what Senator John Ensign asked. He received this handwritten note: $25,000 fine and a year in jail. Now that's downright healthy. Here's Devvy Kidd's take on it. A lot more to say, but we'll say it tonight on the air (and links will appear hear later)-- yeah, running out of time again.

TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 29, 2009 10:30 PM (PT) Getting enough coverage of Roman Polanski's plight? Makes you wonder what we're not hearing from capitol hill. I'll sum up Mr. Polanski's troubles by paraphrasing the words of his victim: The US courts have done me more harm than Polanski ever did. She'd like the matter to go away, and I'm for that. She's in her mid 40s now, married with 3 kids. This is the last coverage her family needs to see.

Perhaps one of things not covered while talking everything Roman, is the leaked Senate Climate Bill. No more word since yesterday's link but it'll be introduced tomorrow morning. Or perhaps you didn't know that Obama declared war on Oil at the G-20. Our oil-- the stuff we're using to power 85% of our industry in this country. Or maybe we're not hearing another climate story-- Al Gore's loan. The $529 million loan from the US government to a tiny care company he has backed. Sound good so far? The company is in Finland and the car will cost $89,000. Yes, that's for 1 of them. Sounds awful to me and most American tax payers. Here's the story.

If you or someone you know, thinks you made out well in Cash For Clunkers, you're not doing the math. By any reasonable account, you're down over 3,300 and that's not including the payments you're likely to be making for the next four or five years. Here are the stunning (and verifiable) details.

Perhaps you escaped that program because you bought a hybrid in California a few years back-- you know, one of the many that qualified you to drive solo in the car pool lane. Well that privilege is about to end. Hybrids aren't good enough anymore. But if you want to buy an all electric model......

Cass Sunstein's words aren't helping pass healthcare-- but he's probably right. The government couldn't deny subsidizing abortion even if lawmakers wanted to. Here's more of his sterling rhetoric.

You want the perfect example to fully understand the mettle of the majority of those in congress? They're fought tooth and nail to make sure you (and lawmakers) can't see what they're voting on. Ms. Pelosi leds the way-- and won.

But I saved the best (or worst) for last. Folks in Hardin Montana were suprised to see the new shiny black Mercedes SUV cruisers. The ones with the Hardin Police Department logo. The problem is there is no Hardin Police Department. And the logo contains-- get this- the Serbian coat of arms. I could not possibly make this up and yes it's confirmed. It gets better....

Turns out the vehicles belong to the APF-- the American Police Force. Are you thinking that's part of Obama's 'civilian national security force'. Nope, this is a private company. The background of this saga includes the shiny new detention center-- a $27 million jail, a 114,009 square foot, 464 bed facility that is totally empty. Hardin, population 3,500 has been unable to find prisoners, and the construction bonds are in default. And so it is that the Two Rivers authority that built the jail have contracted with APF to fill and manage it. APF is delighted (I'm horrified to even think where they're getting the prisoners) and they've announced plans for an expansion. OMG. Draw your own conclusions. And sleep well. At least Mercury is no longer retrograde (went direct this morning around 6:30 PT). Here's the story and we'll have a lot of details on it tomorrow.

MONDAY SEPTEMBER 28, 2009 10:30 PM (PT) We talked with Loretta Mejia (Medicine Sky Woman) in the first hour. She knows intimately what it's like to grow up Native American living on a reservation where no one will talk about the abuse she and many other children experience at the hands of her own family. Her escape came literally-- she ran away. But eventually she realized that her only salvation was in helping others in a similar situation. She's the founder of The Angel To Angel Network which lets kids know they're not alone, and provides support and resources for countless Native Americans who fall through the cracks of every system, or lack of systems. Casinos don't fund it, the US government ignores it, and it comes down to folks like you donating to the cause. Check out TATAN.org, a worthwhile effort that deserves a lot more publicity than it gets. Donate if you can. Thanks.

I'm not sure why the government isn't funding TATAN. Oh, right. They don't have any money. No surprise there considering the way they spend it. $9.5 million to redesign a website? You could build a whole browser for less. And that's just part of the contract to beef up the Simulus site. An equal amount may likely be spent before it's over.

Perhaps it's already over for the dollar. According to some insiders, it's the new peso. So what the heck? Why not another program. October is National Kitchen and Bath Month. To celebrate, the feds have come up with Cash For Appliances. You'll see I am not making this up.

We told you about financial insiders and their suspicious deaths lately. Here's one who fell off an escalator at Caesars.

Maybe you can explain it. If you were a lawmaker trying to force the passage of contentious legislation, would you go out of your way to irritate your foes? 21 democrats did when they demanded healthcare access for illegals. No wonder health care reform is at an all time low. Well maybe not lower than Hillarycare, but I don't have those figures. As far as Obamacare though, not good news. That's not stopping Obama from vowing he'll get it done though.

Nor is it stopping Patrick Kennedy from lying. He says your STDs, abortions and other shames will not have to be included in your electronic medical records. Nice thought but absolutely nothing to back that up in any legislation anyone's passed-- or even seen.

NHS horror story of the day? Schoolgirl dead at 14. Hours after receiving her cervical cancer shot at school. If her classmates aren't scared enough, the NHS is telling them that if they don't go through with the remaining two shots in the series, they'll be felled by side effects.

Republicans are rightfully upset over the gag order insurers have received who dare to tell their policy holders what Obamacare might bring. They plan to block any health nominees until the HHS lifts the ban.

I'm a libertarian. I question why we need 99% of the laws on the books. Then I read that 1 in 5 Americans admit to text messaging while driving. Still not for a law, though in this case I gotta concede that Darwinian socialism might take the unsuspecting along with the clueless culprits.

And then there are laws which are beyond insane. Like the one used on the good hearted Grand Rapids woman who was willing to watch a few of the neighbors kids before they boarded the school bus each morning. The parents leave for work before the busses come, and this housewife lives in front of the bus stop. So what's the crime? She's not a licensed child care provider. Here's the story. Fortunately a lawmaker is trying to change the current statute. But you really gotta wonder what self motivated cretin turned her in?

I'll let you decide what's going on here. Americans For Limited Government send out a ton of email to journalists and media folks. But ALG's Alex Rosenwald was surprised to get a response from an NBC producer-- Jane Stone (who is also a professor at NYU) which said "Bite Me Jew Boy". ALG did their due diligence and found out that the reply really did come from the NBC/Universal mail servers, and really was from Jane's Blackberry. At first the president of NBC News denied it entirely. Then he admitted that it did come from their servers, but denied that the message said what was received. He denied it was received too-- but that's not a call he can make, obviously.) ALG stands firm that it's what they received. The NBC News prexy stands firm that it wasn't what was sent. But his take from the start has been defensive and self righteous. Some suggest that the long headers will tell the story-- but now that NBC admits an email was sent to ALG from Ms. Stone's Blackberry, there's nothing in the headers that will prove the content-- at least not from ALG's end. NBC could do that, but it's doubtful the would-- or if they did, would own up to it. It's entirely bizarre to think an NBC employee would do that (even if she didn't like ALG's anti-ACORN stance, which is a given). But it's even more out of the realm of plausibility that ALG would make it up. And I doubt they have a huge IT department that would go to the trouble of changing what was received. Here's a third party story on it. Here's the alleged email. Here, here and here are the ALG stories on it. As I said, it's your call.

Over 31,000 American scientists, including over 9,000 PhDs (including Edward Teller) have signed a petition that rejects the global warming hypothesis our government embraces. That hasn't stopped the senate from introducing their version of Cap & Trade. By the way-- worse than the version that passed in the house. Nor has it stopped Cherry Hill New Jersey from allowing wild turkeys to attack residents. The birds take priority. (Just in-- Cherry Hill has decided to relocate the flying beasts.)

Now more than ever, the world needs the wisdom of The Silhouettes. The R&B vocal group of the '50s came to prominence with "Get A Job". It was probably easier to do that back then, though their more obscure "Heading To The Poorhouse" is even more poignant today. Sad to note, the last living member of the group is gone-- to a much better place, judging by our current economy. They were ahead of their time :)

FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 25, 2009 11:50 PM (PT) Friday Night Trivia answers are up under "Trivia" to your left. Bumper Stumpers are up under "Music".

I'll be back before Monday's show to let you know what else is on my mind-- which will include the real deal about the fine/tax imposed if you don't get Obamacare, in the unlikely event this disaster passes. Think it's only $1,900 as lawmakers claim? Have I got news for you-- and proof. But don't think about that until Monday. In the meantime, have a great weekend.

FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 25, 2009 7:00 PM (PT) Three big hours of trivia tonight and I'm ready for you. Your part in this is to call. Talk to you at 7. Well forget about what's wrong with America and the world....

but before we do: Anyone who thinks Maryland can charge Hannah Giles & James O'Keefe with a crime because they taped ACORN without their knowledge better understand the Maryland law on it. (Note to the Balitmore City Attorney who brought it up: You might want to read the code.) We know alot about this because of Linda Tripp. Remember when she taped Monica Lewinsky? You can be there were a lot of people who would have liked to see her fry for it. Problem is, the Maryland law is an interception law. If you don't understand that nuance, read this.

But that of course doesn't stop ACORN from a civil suit. Why they'd want to wage one is beyond me but their self-righteousness is beyond any reasonable bounds. The most I can glean is they feel they were targeted by the filming duo, and that the team was really a front for all manner of right wing wackos. The problem with that is even if it were true (I doubt it is, but let's go with it for the sake of argument)-- it doesn't mitigate what the workers were caught doing. Pre-school playground logic covered here.

Oh, speaking of ACORN. That congressional defunding issue may be revisited. Apparently they inadvertently defunded a lot of people. Personally I'm not so disappointed that any organization charged with breaking federal or state election laws and such is out. But it seems that includes a lot of defense contractors. I say so be it. I doubt lawmakers will (unless we sit on 'em about it).

Indoor olympics winner here in the Conclusion Jump category: New York magazine blames World Net Daily, Rush Limbaugh and Michael Savage for the murder of a census worker. (They must rely on ACORN logic for their conclusions.) Not only is their thinking flawed-- and old and tired-- but it's also a little premature since we have no real idea of why the guy died. Yeah, the word "fed" across his body is suspicious, but it's hardly conclusive. And even though New York Magazine would love to blame the pied pipers of radio and internet, neither are needed at this point to foment anti-government sentiment. Pick any part of the Obama administration and that'll do it. (Read some of the previous entries on this blog and you'll get the idea.)

But if you want to play connect the dots, school children signing about their love of Obama's goals is reminiscent of Nazi-youth no matter what tune you carry.

Meanwhile Republicans/right wingers are also being blamed for the resignation of the NEA communications director. They say he's the latest conservative target. But this guy didn't need help from any quarter. Hosting a conference call where he asked artists who were vying for grants to incorporate a depiction of the administrations goals in their creativity, was over the top stupid. He's gone.

We've talked a lot about how heavies in government control the media-- more with a carrot than a stick. Ask the wrong questions, lose the interview opportunity. Worked well during the campagin. But now, who cares if a White House advisor is yanked from a CNN interview because CNN had Christopher Andersen on. (Andersen wrote the book about Michelle & Barack's marriage-- probably more interesting than anything the advisor was touting.)

If you're a commercial driver, you need to know what's coming in the form of CSA-2010. Click on it for details.

Even Obama's personal physician of 22 years says insurers meddle in your medical care. He and many others admit the way they practice is in part determined by how they play the reimbursement game. Really hard to convince them that the government would do a better job.

Hey-- big news. The Indians have found water on the moon. Don't move yet-- even if you do live in Phoenix. OK, quick-- what's the absolute worst household gadget invented? A survey of Brits say it's the shower radio. Here's what else they don't like and a few things they do. And along those same lines, the winners of this year's design prize include a cooker that grows meat in your kitchen, a teleporting refrigerator and the two second clothes cleaner. None of those will be featured on trivia tonight.

WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 23, 2009 10:15 PM (PT) If you go to the links page and notice a lot of them missing-- it's entirely my fault. In trying to get everything up last night, I inadvertently wiped them out and replaced them all with the link of Perot Systems being sold to Dell-- I knew Ross was powerful but this was over the top. Typical of Mercury retrograde and even more of a waste since that 3.9 billion transaction is now being looked at by the FEC as insider trading. I'll rebuild the old links a few at a time and get the whole thing restored as soon as possible. (Yes I know I can copy a cached version online but it screws with my html code-- even tough it shouldn't, so in the long run I'll be glad I took the time-- maybe. Of course if you don't even read the links page, maybe the whole thing is a waste of time- but no time to get philosophical-- we've got all sorts of things to discuss.)

Have young kids? Ever take a picture of them in the bathtub? Don't take the film (or memory stick or whatever you capture them on) to Wal-mart. One couple did and lost their kids. They're suing the state and Wal-mart and rightfully so, though the CPS folks are the ones who should be terminated-- for trying to keep custody for over six months after a judge ruled the parents innocent. Here's another story on it.

IRS severs ties with ACORN. ACORN sues the filmmakers and website who exposed them. Wouldn't you love to be in on the discovery in that suit? Hopefully their self-righteous indignation will be their undoing. The website they target by the way is Andrew Breitbart's BigGovernment.com

When even union members disagree with the tenets of Obamacare, you know you've got problems. Speak of healthcare, Shawn Tully's final two segments in his great series on Obamacare are out. Part 7 and Part 8.

Right after Obama laid out Cap & Trade to a joint session on Capitol Hill, his own Treasury department spelled out how it would devastate the economy. Here's info on the memo he didn't want you to see.

But Fidel Castro thinks Obama's Global Warming stance is terrific. He said so at the UN meeting. And the Libya's Muammar Gadhafi loves him too. Not sure it's company I'd want to be in. Of course no one wanted to be in Iran's Ahmadinejad's company-- delegates from over 30 countries walked out, most as planned-- some at the thought of Ahmadinejad speaking at all, others waiting for him to dis Israel-- which he did on cue. Needless to say this put a wrinkle in Ban Ki-moon's Kumbaya plans.

Obama didn't fare much better with supporting Israel according to former US Ambassador to the UN John Bolton. Here's more about Obama's speech including that Climate Change part that Fidel loved so well.

So the economy's turning around? Not when it comes to mass layoffs. They increased in August. Yesterday we told you about Obama pushing for an economic world order at the G-20. India's with them-- the last thing they want is for us to protect our own interest-- so much for Obama's talk about manufacturing returning-- ever.

Some are saying this is indicative of how upset some Americans are with the government. I have a feeling it's more than that-- but here's the story about a census worker hanging from a tree with the word "fed" scrawled across his chest.

While I doubt anti-government sentiment is at the heart of the hanging, I do believe anti-government sentiment is growing-- and how could it not? Here's news on Obama's science czar, John Holdren who wrote a college textbook in 1977 saying the constitution and the supreme court would support mandatory abortions and forced sterilization. And here's news about hte FCC diversity czar Mark Lloyd who has suggested white people step down from their jobs to give minorities their turn. I can't make up stuff this good-- or bad.

What exactly was in Walter Cronkite's FBI file-- we'll never know. It's been destroyed. But a FOIA request did get us info on the feds manipulating gold prices and hiding the evidence. Speaking of coverups, after recent reports that Canada's public health officials concealed the origins of swine flu, there's now reasons to believe that vaccinations may be mandatory in Canda. You decide if there's any truth to this.

It seems there is truth to the notion that terrorist Bill Ayers helped Obama write "Dreams from My Father". And on a lighter (or darker) note-- among the Mafia's intimidation techniques. Live Hungry Crocodiles. Hope the government doesn't follow suit. Meanwhile, I'll get back to restoring those links.

TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 22, 2009 11:30 PM (PT) Ah ha-- maybe this explains congress-- a study says that folks who have problems managing money may be headed for Alzheimer's Disease. OK, I'll take my tongue out of my cheek (though it is a serious study albeit not focusing on congress) and get down to absolute proof that the government should not handle healthcare. Here's how they handled Cash for Clunkers. When you read how this program was administered, you'll be ready to get rid of the involvement the government already has in health care, let alone think of increasing it.

Speaking of Cash for Clunkers, here's what happened to one couple who thought they were participating in the program... oh they got the $3,500 but the dealership got to sell the car-- for more a lot more than they would have gotten if they participated in the program as the seller thought.

Worried about Obama because he's using the Alinsky "Rules For Radicals" playbook? Don't be. Here's logic showing why it will be fatal. Speaking of fatal, asking artists vying for NEA grants to concentrate on depicting the Obama agenda, isn't a good idea. Here's how it backfired.

And though I don't suggest getting your hopes too high, it looks like Obamacare will backfire. Here's what's happening in the Senate as the Finance Committee tackles the bill as we speak. Things are not much better in the House where a group of liberal democrats (I know, redundant but more liberal than most) say they will not sign any bill that does not include a government option. At this point, three chances of that-- slim fat and none.

A number of insurance companies stand to lose quite a bit if their medicare companion plans bite the dust. Some of them have been sending mailers to customers about what Obamacare might mean. Now the Obama administration is threatening them with legal action. The biggest player, Humana, has stopped. I hope the administration presses it. It's likely everyone will find out the insurance companies were telling more of the truth than the government.

Claire McCaskill (Democrat senator from Missouri) put to rest any thoughts of whether the government will ration healthcare. It will. Even before the bill was passed she talked about the savings from cutting medicare funding for power chairs. Here she is. No wonder more and more seniors are angry.

We know Obama is violating all his campaign promises on health care-- but it's interesting to see none other than CBS calling him on it. He's also having a fascinating time explaining when a tax is not a tax. Personally I hope they go with "fine" for those not obtaining insurance. That way someone might press the issue and get their day in court-- of course, as we linked previously, the whole thing may be unconstitutional. And we're all still looking for that $2 trillion Obama says he's gonna save us with this debacle.

As for today's NHS horror story-- to back up a moment, yesterday we told you how the British healthcare system was importing doctors due to excessive wait times and that 1 in 3 botched the procedures for which they weren't trained-- well, it's not much better with the native docs. 1 in 6 patients is misdiagnosed.

Things aren't going well with the flu vaccine-- more health care workers saying no. These are in Hong Kong but they join their brethren everywhere. And here's more from the scientist who claims he knows it's a bio-weapon.

Then there's ACORN-- where the head of the organization-- Bertha Lewis is changing her tune-- now maybe those tapes weren't isolated incidents entirely-- but she still claims ACORN is being unfairly singled out. Does this mean she knows of other organizations doing the same thing? That's not answered here.

10 companies that a re veering toward bankruptcy. You might be surprised who is on the list. Remember yesterday we linked to Obama saying it would be a year before jobs returned? Well he says it's 2 decades for manufacturing.. and I'm still not sure how he got there, given our global trade agreements. No wonder the House moved to extend unemployment benefits, though one can only wonder how jobs are returning next year when manufacturing isn't on the horizon. Oh I see-- it's not the same jobs. It's also not the same pay.

But Ross Perot is richer-- Dell just bought Perot Systems for $3.9 billion. Meanwhile in Pittsburgh, the US is gonna push for a new economic order at the G-20-- and they'll get one. It'll be the end of the dollar supremacy. Here's one international bank bidding greenbacks farewell. Meanwhile the IMF is selling a lot of gold (but they say they'll be careful not to upset the gold price-- not hard since it's likely controlled anyway, but I digress)-- and China may be buying the IMF gold. Speaking of China, the citizens are graying and so the government's rethinking that one child policy.

Yeah the whole world is upside down. After about 50 years, we may end the travel ban to Cuba. And on an unrelated note, Zbigniew Brzezinski is suggesting we shoot down Israeli planes. Then there's a woman thrilled to be carrying the embryo of her child-- except there was a mistake. She's carrying the wrong embryo. She'll have another couple's baby and have to give it to them. She agrees it's the right thing to do-- and she hopes she and her hsuband will find another carrier for their own embryos since this was her last shot. Hopefully she'll end up owning the clinic and everyone involved. And you thought you were having a bad day? Talk to you tomorrow night at 7 (PT)

MONDAY SEPTEMBER 21, 2009 7:00 PM (PT) Mark this day down-- I am in total agreement the Obama administration over an important issue. I've been screaming about it for years now: Net Neutrality. Today FCC chairman Julius Genachowsi addressed the Brookings Institute. Politically speaking, it would seem that no good could come from such a liberal love fest. But the liberals have it right on this one. It is vital to individual liberty to protect your unfettered access to online and wireless services.

Conservatives are howling that it should be a marketplace decision. But in this case I disagree. No company should be able to limit your access to legal services available to you through broadband. Companies have every right to limit the amount of broadband you can use in a given time frame or even simultaneously- and they have every right to create tiers of service in terms of charges for varying amounts of bandwidth. But they should not be involved on any level with how you use that bandwidth.

I'm not so naive to think that there's no merit in the concern that this opens the door for further government regulation. But that's an issue regarless- and one we must do whatever it takes to prevent. To such critics, I'll add that if companies are able to differentiate in various ways by blocking sites and services, there's precedent for the government doing the same thing. We'll talk about this, but bottom line, I have unwavering support for the FCC on this. Here's more: read this and this detailing Genachowski's point of view, and this opposing it.

Can't say I agree with the government that are no privacy problems in cyberspace. Here's the questionable report.

Apparently Obama's doing some disinviting-- he doesn't want the prime minister of Kenya at his luncheon, and he's asking the governor of New York not to run again. Problem is, of course he has massive Kenyan ties-- and the governor is a democrat who is one of two African Americans in that position in America.

But never mind that stuff, Obama is turning all his attention to hitting the trail to convince you Obamacare is good. Only problem is fewer people are buying it now than before he started talking. Here he is defending the plan. And here he is saying it will be affordable. And both miss the mark. We'll go over the facts again tonight. The Baucus bill is no better-- might be worse.

As for today's NHS socialized medicine horror stories: The UK is short on doctors-- so they've flown them in to cut waiting times on some surgeries. One small problem-- they aren't qualified and they botch one in three procedures-- that we know of. Some people aren't around to complain. And here's another take on complain to the NHS that your kid was injured by their forced vaccine? Lose custody. There will be a suit against Glaxo.

ACORN continues to be in the news. And that's the understatement of the year. Probably a good time to review Obama's involvement with them. Meanwhile it's almost funny how ACORN's supporters are portraying the 2 young adults that filmed them. Hannah Giles' dad responds here.

Obama's continuing to tell us the economy is recovering. He's even taking credit for it. Problem is, he admits that jobs are not included in that recovery-- and won't be until 2010. (Good luck on believing it will happen then.)

Meanwhile pensions grow-- if you're a public employee-- particularly if you'rea retired educator. Over 3,000 of 'em are having to get buy on over $100,000 a year.

Ron Paul gets his hearing on the Fed Audit Friday Morning. The majority of the House is with him. Needless to say the Fed has a lot of arguments on why that's not gonna happen, but Ron's not gonna let up. It will be instructive, regardless of outcome.

Now for something completely unbelievable-- or maybe totally predictable: Sonya Sotomayor in her first case wonders if the courts haven't erred by treating corporations as "persons"-- meaning she's not sure if businesses or trade associations, affinity groups or anything else you might incorporate has the right to free speech. That she can even wonder this is an outrage. She's worse than anyone thought. We'll try to forget that tonight though. Talk to you at 7 (PT).

FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 18, 2009 11:30 PM (PT) Trivia answers are up. (Click on "Trivia" to your left. Bumper Stumpers are up under Music.) Back hopefully before Monday's show to tell you what else is on my mind, but if you keep reading and use the Blog link, you'll get a pretty good idea.

FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 18, 2009 1:15 AM (PT) 3 big hours of trivia tonight and I'm ready for you. Please call!

A couple of reminders-- if you're near Memphis tomorrow, check out LimbsForCarla.org to find out about a great fundraiser. You'll have fun and be fed! And if you're in LA, don't forget, Wages Of Spin will be shown Saturday and Sunday night at UCLA. Click on it for more info.

While I'm at it, my friend Laura turned 60 today. Laura has been flying for Alaska Airlines for so long she's in the top five or so senior flight attendants. Her husband Kirk Russell is former radio guy-- and it's radio's loss. He was great on the air! He's been planning all sorts of surprises for Laura, so I thought I'd chip in and ask you to email her and say Happy Birthday Laura in the subject line-- and anything you'd like in the body of the message. Click here.

THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 17. 2009 7:00 PM (PPT) We're about to talk with Ingrid Dean, a Detective Sergeant with the Michigan State Police. In her 20 years on the job, she's seen it all-- including things very few officers will tell you. Like how their intuition saved the day, or how they were saved by unseen forces. Her book "Spirit Of The Badge" tells many of their stories. (Click on it for a good price from Amazon.) And check out the website here.

Delighted to announce that the House has decided to stop funding what many of us feel is a criminal enterprise: ACORN. After the 5th video (this one in San Diego, equally as damning as the others-- here an ACORN worker suggests he has the contacts to help the alleged underaged-illegal-alien prostitution ring set up shop in Tijuana. The ACORN rep is also interested in how much he'd have to pay for the use of the lady posing as the hooker); the House voted to defund ACORN entirely. This is days after the Senate took a similar vote to block HUD from giving grants to ACORN. The measure was attached to a student aid bill-- and it passed 345 to 75. All 75 were democrats. Here's the text of the resolution. And here's the vote tallies.

Two governors on the defund trail-- Schwarzenegger of California and Pawlenty of Minnesota. Even if you're not concerned about ACORN's housing practices, you may want to know that this non-profit is up to its knees in lobbying-- particularly against the 2nd amendment. And if you think ACORN is not firmly linked to labor unions, read about SEIU being one of the pillars of the ACORN family. Their joint goal is to make all workers pay union dues. Cozy. ACORN meanwhile announces an internal review and hiring freeze. Hopefully politicians will see it's too late for that.

While all this is going on, ABC's Charlie Gibson claims to know nothing about it. Would he consider himself much of a journalist if he didn't know about something that benefitted the liberal camp?

By the Obama's administration's own admission, should Cap & Trade pass, it will cost every American family $1,761 a year on average. This is what they don't want you to see... which brings us to the economy. Bernanke says the recession is over--but a BIS economist thinks its barely started. If hotel occupancy in the US is any indication, he's right.

Four economic bigwigs dead of suicide... is a trend?

Benedict-Arlen Specter tells big labor that Card Check will pass-- without the card check provision. We'll go back to that bill and see what it is that they're trying to slip through, though avoiding "Card Check" which would end secret balloting sounds good to me. Obama says it'll pass once health care is done. With any luck health care is already done, unbeknownst to him.

The Senate Health Care Bill (Max Baucus' effort) is out. Good news-- no one likes it. And a lot (if not most) doctor's don't like anybody's bill.

One of, if not the best journalists covering alternative medicine (and there's barely any alt-med practitioners left) is Peter Chowka. And Nicholas Gonzales, MD is perhaps the only credible and effective alternative cancer doc left. Here's a link to a conversation among the both of them on the demise of alt-med and the demise of medicine as we know it if Obamacare passes.

Hopefully it's not rhetorical, but there's a good question as to whether Obamacare is unconstitutional.

NHS stories of the day? Ulcer patient dies after paramedics ignore her saying 'Stop being a drama queen.' NHS hospital food so bad that patients are posting photos asking people to guess the dish. And no one can. Meanwhile when NHS doctors decide to withhold treatment, they also withhold telling their families.

So there's talk about illegals getting Obamacare? Did you know they have it already in Mexico-- and that between 40 and 80,000 Americans are using it. Speaking of illegals, it's hard to make a case for immigrating legally when the system is as screwed up as it is. Here's a Marine's widow and child. The Marines recognize the marriage and are paying her survivor benefits. Immigration doesn't and they won't give her a permanent visa to continue living with her late husband's family who are helping raise the veteran's child. Outrage here.

If folks who voted for Obama aren't outraged by his lack of transparency or stepped up involvement in the middle east, maybe learning that he supports keeping and extending the provisions of the Patriot Act will do it. And just how many unconstitutional and probably unvetted czars does Obama have? Find out here.

Cass Sunstein may be the worst of the czar group (but it's a close contest in several cases). Here's his idea to give US wealth to poor nations. Here's his logic for a return of the Fairness Doctrine only worse. That's in addition to the priceless quotes we've linked previously.

Orly Taitz loses in Judge Land's courtroom on behalf of Capt. Connie Rhodes. The judge ridiculed the case, and warned Taitz not to file again. She did-- asking for a rehearing. Not sure she's not her own worst enemy. Some the verbage in the cases isn't helping her clients.

Good news for the 2nd Amendment-- AMtrak will lose its federal subsidies if it doesn't put a system in that allows firearms in checked baggage.

Apparently it's a big deal-- or maybe this is all you need to know about Pittsburgh. They've just passed a 'no defecating in public' law. Apparently nothing on the books adequately covered it. Wouldn't you like to know exactly what precipitated that? Then again, maybe not.

Boston meanwhile is tracking flu shots-- the areas that have the least amount of people receiving them. That way they can go in and.... well they don't exactly specify what. But they want to know where you are.

Now it's just Peter & Paul. Mary has died. Better music news-- there will be an International Beach Music Hall of Fame. Harry Turner's responsible. It'll be at Coastal Carolina university.

Check out listener Christine's "Kittie Angel Network"

Any fan of country music in Phoenix will instantly recognize the name Stu Evans (and radio fans in Denver, Chicago and Nashville will too). Stu has opened his voice over studio. Should you need a voice, check out BigShoeStudios.com.

WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 16, 2009 A day late but happy birthday to Charlie Murdock who turns 77 today. My old WQAM buddy has been in Cincinnati since 1965-- first managing WSAI and then WLW before heading Avco Radio for years. He's still going strong and probably the only guy I know making money in real estate. But Charlie always was the greatest salesman.

If you're in LA thiss weekend, you'll want to check out "Wages of Spin" the documentary of what Dick Clark really was about (and to a lesser degree, some of the truth behind the payola hearings). It'll be showin at UCLA's Westwood Pavilion, Saturday at 7:30 and Sunday at 9:15. We'll talk to director Shawn Swords tonight at 9 (PT) about it.

So after the 4th video on ACORN workers (this time in San Bernardino-- info here and here) ACORN announces it will suspend additions to its service programs. (Wouldn't you like to know who's already being served and how?). But nevertheless, they'd like another $6 million of your tax dollars and they'r not afraid to ask for it. Now there's a 5th video-- from San Diego. And this Senator wants a full investigation of ACORN.

Interesting fall out from Obama's speech to school kids last week. Many districts allowed parents to opt out on their child's behalf, some didn't show it at all. One superintendent that made the decision not to air it has now been asked to resign. The Rev. Floyd Rose of the Southern Christian Leadership conference made that request at a Board Of Education meeting in Valdosta, GA and he got some support. I have a strong feeling the next outpouring will come from parents siding with Dr. Bill Cason, but for now, here's the story.

Meanwhile a former speechwriter for Bush is telling tales. He says his boss thought Obama has no clue and Sarah Palin would be a disaster. He also isn't fond of Hillary. And this is news? But fun anyway since the scripted comments are always so gracious.

Where's the swine flu? Here's an outbreak map. And here's one very disgruntled vaccine trial participant. When he got really sick, the researchers denied their could be a connection. It's the standard playbook response. Remember it before you decide to vaccinate.

Here's an article from the LA Times explaining the $900 billion health care price tag. Concentrate on the paragraph aboaut what the democratic lawmakers have come up with to pay it. Be verrrrry afraid. They propose cutting reimbursement for medicare. In many cases, it's already too low and some doctors are refusing to participate. This can't be good.

The House meanwhile voted to discipline Rep. Joe WIlson for his "You Lie!" outburst in the Obama healthcare address. Barely a slap on the wrist, but they felt they had to waste time doing something. Meanwhile the Congressional Research Service (the research arm of the US Congress-- not some private group with an official sounding name-- this is the real deal and it's non-partisan to say the least) concurs that Illegal Aliens can receive benefits from Obama care. Here's how.

And here's a wonderfully documented step by step analysis of H.R. 3200 from Liberty Consel. Great argument settler, if you're arguing with someone who is interested in the facts. (That wouldn't be AARP, but I digress. Their Q&A in the September issue of their bulletin is so slanted, it's practicaly sliding off the page. It's called Assault On Truth-- and it is an assault-- by them. No wonder they're losing so many menbers. (Thanks to Joy in New Jersey for sending the hard copy. Here's a link to the online version-- the entire website will disgust you. Here's the homepage.)

Obama meanwhile will do whatever it takes to keep his healthcare goals on track. Like avoiding the details on divisive issues. And all of the democrats are avoiding any details on Cass Sunstein-- well some of 'em anyhow. Here's a reprint of some highly enlightening quotes.

Which is more important- child protection or civil liberties? A sane response would be to quote our founding fathers along the lines of he would trade his liberty for security deserves neither, but this is not a sane situation. This is the government in Great Britian and slowly but surely they are building the world's biggest DNA database. Anyone who even works or volunteers near children is included.

Meanwhile over zealous British police are being warned-- taking DNA from children is tantamount to assault. Here's why this is an issue.

A plot to blow up the world's tallest bulding? You know that would lead to arrests. 45 of 'em. Dubai Tower is the structure in question. Most of the arrested were Palestinian and Lebanese.

When we sign these global trade agreements and join such bodies as the World Trade Organization, we gotta know that ends our economic sovereignty, don't we? And we had to think that if we put a tariff on Chinese rubber-- for all the right reasons if you're looking at it from the US economic best interest-- that China would file a complaint and threaten to retailiate. The threats came last week. Here's the complaint.

Nepal is suffering a goat shortage. They need 6,000 right about now. Clearly the well informed goats would be unwilling to go. The biggest religious festival of the year, Dashain, has them slaughtered and eaten to honor the Hindu goddess of power, Durga. (And I thought it was bad for the horned bests when Dr. Brinkley did those infamous goat gland operations.)

Good news! Banks are making money. Bad news-- it's by charging you outrageous fees. Think twice if you're not sure of your balance before using that debit card. Maybe that can be considered a new revenue stream. Hard to figure what Ben Bernanke considered to bring him to the conclusion that the recession is over. If Blockbuster's any indication, note that they're closing 960 stores. (Of course technological changes and competitors like Redbox and Netflix are probably bigger factors.)

In an era where everyone is losing their job, here's a guy celebrating 50 years on his-- at the first McDonalds in MIssouri.

Another suicide-- James McDonald head of Rockefeller & Co., a Boston investment company. Single gunshot, found in a car behind an auto dealership. Called his wife earlier in the day-- no hint of this, no note. Yes, it will be investigated. Here's one report, and another.

MONDAY SEPTEMBER 14, 2009 11:00 PM (PT) Did you know that the Supreme Court said it was OK for police to forcibly take your blood if they thought you were drunk? Did you know the decision came down in 1966? Did you know that for the past five years, Arizona police have been taking blood from motorists to the tune of 400 a day? Well now the program is expanded to Texas and Idaho and if all goes well it will be national. I shudder at the thought, but here's the story.

How much do you believe in DNA results? Turns out they're less than 100% perfect, even if courts treat them that way. Here's what should worry you. That's Great Britian, but think you have rights in the US? Not if you're a school kid-- if so, you can forget about the bill of rights. Here's an honor student expelled for having a picture of himself dancing. It all started because of a text message from his father.

Thrilled to tell you that the Senate has voted to prohibit the use of funds for ACORN. Here's the story and here's the votes. 9 voted against it-- Burris & Durbin from Illinois, Leahy & Sanders from Vermont, Casey from Pennsylvania, Gillibrand from New York and Whitehouse from Rhode Island (all Democrats except for Independent/Socialist Sanders).

The census bureau has also eliminated ACORN's involvement. Meanwhile the Baltimore City Attorney may arrest the filmmakers who caught all the ACORN chicanery on tape. Maryland law could get them 5 years in prison. They should get a medal. But the aspect of arresting these folks is the main story at most networks. Never mind what they uncovered-- that's secondary to many propagandists.

All the thoughts that it was an isolated case? Fuhgeddaboutit. Here's a story about the same thing occurring in DC. Think it's just coincidence and still believe that perhaps ACORN is right these people acted on their own? Same exact thing happened in Brooklyn! Read this and this.

Meanwhile in Illinois, a key witness in the Blagojevich corruption probe has committed suicide... by an overdose of aspirin. Sounds more like an Arkancide.

A lot of coverage on what might happen to you if you are vaccinated for HPV with Gardasil. The government denies the deaths, complications and horror stories about it, but fortunately efforts to make it mandatory have been met with the kind of resistance that ends the discussion. Well, unless you're an immigrant wanting citizenship. Did you know it's mandatory for those young girls? Read a real horror story here.

At least the young lady is healthy-- she didn't take the shots. Here's a case of a perfectly healthy teen now at death's door for submitting. But the government disagrees with her doctor-- no connection. Yeah right. Healthcare workers who have a better handle on these things are not lining up-- even when threats of losing their jobs are used.

So how good is the economy? Insiders are selling stock like there's no tomorrow. 3 more bank failures Friday including Chicago's Corus-- not exactly a small company.

Meanwhile the government is nervous about stimulus fraud and scams. But they wrote the bill. This year. This administration. The same administration that says they'll pay for health care by eliminating fraud in Medicare. They can't even eliminate fraud in the bills they originate.

Then there's the other side of the equation-- people who think the government should give them health care. What is it that causes them to think this would be done well when they don't believe the government is doing anything else well? Case in point-- 83% do not trust the Social Security Administration to handle their disability claims fairly.

But Obama wants to seize the momentum growing in the health care debate. Obviously he's not seeing what a lot of us are seeing-- like a couple million people marching on Washington against it this past weekend.

The whole Joe Wilson "You Lie!" outburst has inured to his benefit. He's raised over a million dollars in campaign funds since the president's speech. He's apologized to the president, but he won't to congress-- some want to censor him. Problem is that the laws may not be on their side. Regardless, he still thinks Obama wasn't honest, and he has the printed bill pages to back him up. Here's more on that. And here's another cogent assessment. (The August 12th post is particularly illuminating.)

But there's no better way to waste taxpayer dollars than a large bureaucracy and that brings us to today's NHS horror story. Fortunately nobody was injured-- but subjects are being fleeced. Read about the swine flu hotline workers with nothing to do but play cards, drink or do drugs since no one is calling.

And until tomorrow when I'm sure I'll have plenty more to say at 7 PM (PT) online and on XM, I'll leave you with the conspiracy of the day. Why did the DNC create two Official Certification of Nomination statements? One includes the verbage "legally qualified to serve under the provisions of the United States Constitution". The other eliminates it entirely. Both were signed by Pelosi and notarized. Both on the same day. And the one with no mention of the constitution is what was sent to the 50 states. Try as I may, I can't come up with any reasonable explanation for this.

FRIDAY 911 SEPTEMBER 11, 2009 11:00 PM Trivia answers are up (Click on Trivia to your left). Bumper Stumpers are up under Music. And if you missed the Joel Samberg interview about Benny Bell, go to MyStreamingServer.com and download it. Or listen all weekend on the stream.

Morgan, my favorite of our Bernese Mountain Dogs escaped in the first hour of the show. Hence the replay for a half hour in the Second Hour. We found him safe and wet (he went for a swim in the lake). But we got right back to trivia after that. He's still by my side. (I won't let him out of my sight. Jon is outside as I type building a higher less scalable fence.) This reminds me that I've forgotten to mention that pictures of Morgan, Olssen, Winston and Cleo are up. Click on "About" to your left. You can also see the pics from our trip to Yellowstone and the Tetons.

FRIDAY 911 SEPTEMBER 11, 2009 7:00 PM Trivia tonight! In the first hour we'll be talking with Joel Samberg. You may not know his name, but I bet you'll recognize his grandfather: Benny Bell! Still not familiar? Then you weren't a Dr. Demento fan. But even so, it's a good bet you've heard "Shaving Cream". Joel has written Grandpa Had A Long One (click on it for a good price from Amazon) and it's a fascinating story. He'll tell it in minutes. 2 hours of questions for you after that. I'm ready! Are you?

Oh, don't forget to check out Benny Bell's website. (OK, it's Joel's but if you're a Benny Bell fan, you'll love the info and pics.)

If you enjoyed Joe Balzer last night and want to hear him again, go to MyStreamingServer.com and download the file. It'll be up for quite a while. And click on Links to your left for a way to order his book, "Flying Drunk".

THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 10, 2009 6:00 PM (PT) We'll talk with Joseph Balzer in the first hour tonight. If the name isn't familiar, the incident will be. Remember back in March of 1990 when the 3 man flight crew of a Northwest 727 were arrested for flying drunk? Joe was the flight engineer and boy does he have story to tell. You can read it in Flying Drunk (click on it for a good price from Amazon) and hear it in about an hour.

Can't believe you missed Obama's speech but in case you want to read every word (maybe not a bad idea- you can play a game by connecting the contradictions), it's here. The best moment of course is with South Carolina Rep. Joe Wilson yelled, "You Lie!" about covering illegal immigrants. (Illegals are covered-- here's how) but the most stunning admission came from Obama guaranteeing that if his budget estimates exceed the plan's ability to remain revenue neutral, cuts will be made: "...there will be a provision in this plan that requires us to come forward with more spending cuts if the savings we promised don't materialize." Arithmetically the savings can't materialize and we will have rationing.

You've probably already picked up on the problem. The president just guaranteed us that care will be rationed. Period. And this is supposed to be a speech to make us want his plan?! Equally as mystifying was his angered and patently defensive tone at his critics. It's as if August never happened, and all the people crying out at townhall meetins were either manipulated or befuddled. Here's the republican response.

So what did the DNC do directly after this speech? They sent an email directing their supporters as to what they could do and how they could donate. At this point, why do they need the money? Too late for television commercials. Maybe they're considering buying congress.

Prior to the speech Obama conceded his health bill strategy failed. Some of us are sure it failed afterwards, but logic and congress are often mutually exclusive, so we'll see. Some are wondering whether Obama hsa been mortally wounded by his health campaign. Time will tell on that too. But even now, 52% of Americans are against it

You can count seniors heavily among that 52%. The democrats are losing them in large numbers. They have reason to worry (particularly after the aforementioned 'we'll cut spending if the balance isn't budgeted'.. OMG). And they have plenty of reason to leave AARP, though that leftist organization still doesn't get it. Their campaign to win them over is condescending and misleading. (And their new prexy is fully committed to socialized medicine. His entire professional life reflects it.)

Then there's unions-- if you haven't year heard about their Obamacare windfalls, read this and know they'll not only get power, but buckets of money. And that's without even considering how much they'll save on the insurance they've had to provide directly to there members.

As for his desire to reach across the aisle, for the record, Obama hasn't talked to the republicans since April. No wonder more people are coming down with Borderline Personality Disorder. But nothing's quite as weird as 50% of all British subjects injured by... biscuits? Damn Scones. (Well ya gotta have some comic relief in today's dreadful thread.)

Speaking of Brits, the NHS stories of the day include a mother who watched her baby die because it was against the rules to save it, and a daughter who watched her father die for the same reason. Maybe this is how we'll balance our healthcare budget as Obama promises we will.

If you're wondering about how we got into this health care mess, you have to go back to the Wage Price Controls at the end of World War 2. But more recently, here's a timeline of Obama's health care overhaul efforts.

While everyone was anticipating Obama's remarks, few people noticed that Cass Sunstein was confirmed to the be the Administrator of the Office of Regulatory Affairs, OMB. Here's the roll call vote, here's a rundown on what happened, and here's why you should care. He might be the worst czar yet. (Worst if you're a libertarian or capitalist.)

Glenn Beck has done a great job outing czars-- but not everyone thinks he has liberty at heart. Here's Devvy Kidd's take. I'll let you decide. Regardless, I'm happy anyone on major media is saying anything. But why Beck isn't an unreserved Ron Paul supporter is beyond me.

Congress is starting to catch on to this czar stuff. Rep. Pat McHenry wants all of the to testify. There are 44 of 'em. Some of 'em communists, some of 'em who might be considered terrorists, many who would appall the bulk of the country. But this not only applies to czars. Here's a terrorist friend of Bill Ayers who landed a cushy taxpayer job.

And here's news of a conflict of interest with a DHS nominee. Bio-tech firm ties. Then there's Eric Holder, who sadly is long ago confirmed. Think he isn't problematic? I won't count the ways-- I'll just suggest if you like the 2nd amendment you won't like reading this.

ACORN is really in trouble this time. The offending workers have been fired, but is there ANY doubt that they acted alone? Come on, look at the calibre of worker and look at the advice they're giving. Hell, look at the video. Fox is showing it repeatedly.

Here's the story. The gist of it is an undercover couple posing as a pimp and prostitute needing a home loan for their business which would involve underaged foreign teens. ACORN told them how to avoid taxes, how to claim the girls as dependents and save money, how to circumvent all kinds of laws and rgulations, and more. Absolutely amazing, and more so when ACORN tries to distance the organization from the undercover couple. You decide if this is business as usual for the group. Oh, totally unrelated: 11 ACORN workers arrested on voter fraud.

Not just conservatives upset with Obama. Anti-secrecy groups have a problem with him reneging on campaign promises, His gay rights adviser is also losing patience. Stimulus bill? Not a dollar for an additional mile of border security in 2010. Folks upset about that too.

Then there's the ecowacko Obama advisers who say that air travel may have to be rationed in the name of the environment. More on that, including requests for higher prices to keep you on the ground.

While we're talking speed, pigeons transfer data faster that South African broadband. Maybe an EMP attack there would go unnoticed, but here? Some think it will wipe us out, and maybe sooner rather than later. Think the government can, on a keystroke, limit what you'll see? Here's a new Dutch search engine catering to Muslim sharia law. Think it was hard to cull objectionable sites? Fotunately it's voluntary, but it's just as easy to apply it, or anything else, to all. Generally blocking is just simple stupid deductive logic-- which explains why Middlesex County in Ontario is having trouble sending email. It's the "sex" part.

So how's the economy? Word in the news is things are getting better and better. Oh really? Then why is Warren Buffett moving from stocks to bonds? We are cutting our debt-- of course we have no money. Thankfully grocery prices are coming down. But then again, some say the consumer economy is dead.

Think Amish. Think Lancaster County Pennsylvania. Think Security cameras. Which does not apply? All those thoughts co-exist now. Read about big brother for the buggies. But if cameras aren't good enough, how about chips? VeriChip acquires Steel Vault Corp. New company? PositiveID Corporation. Probably negative to you, if you have any concerns about big brother or personal privacy. And yes, it ties right into healthcare in very ominous ways.

I'll leave you with a mystery-- where DID Benjamin Netanyahu disappear to for 10 hours? And some humor-- this isn't a government plan, but it's more honest than the ones they're trying to shove down your throat.

WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 9, 2009 12:09 AM (PT) 9-9-9 today. Numerologists are having a field day with it. Unfortunately since this is 2009 it adds up to a 2, not a 9... but never mind that...we've got more important matters. Here's the link I promised to the .pdf of the ranking of the world's most competitive economies. We've fallen to 2nd place, but see where everyone else is.

How bad is the NHS? Worse than you can imagine. Read some of the horror stories here and realize this is the system touted by our health reformers (uh, let's call it as it is-- some of those in favor of government health care). You'll also note that unlike previous tomes, this one has no outcry from NHS employees about it being wrong.

The NHS apologies... for addressing a patient's concerns over his dreadful treatment... three and a half years after he died. They aren't apologizing for the treatment. They say it's standard.

The NHS isn't commenting on the leaked memo-- the one to neurologists telling them to be on the lookout for Guillain-Barre Syndrome triggered by the Swine flu vaccine-- the vaccine they're telling the public is safe. Fascinating to note that a patent for the vaccine was filed in 2007-- long before the flu virus was mentioned, let alone spread. Then there's Aspirin. Maybe it does more harm than good in healthy people.

Maybe it's just as well some healthcare is rationed. Here's the downside of too many cancer screenings. But then again if you avoid health insurance entirely, the fine could be $3,800 in the US according to the proposed bill in the senate.

Yes your medical records will be electronically stored online. No you won't have a say if they're viewed in research studies and yes, researchers are salivating to get at 'em.

But that's not the only privacy issue you'll have. Google is gonna digitize the world's books. They haven't worked on whether or how they'll protect the identity of readers.

Meanwhile wikipedia is protecting you, should you be the subject of one of their articles. They won't allow anyone to make changes on articles dealing with living people without editorial review. Maybe they're not protecting you. Maybe they're protecting their own take on various public persons. Time will tell.

Of course if you're on Facebook, maybe you need protection. One woman changed her Facebook status to single. Her jealous husband changed it to murdered. But whatever you put on Facebook, realize that it will be read by a potential employer-- half of 'em admit they use it to screen candidates.

And 40% of them will check your credit too. But they have to tell you that on the employment application. We talked about this on the air last night. I think it's fair and it does have relevance. It displays your level of responsibility, commitment and judgement. In a bad situation maybe not of your own doing? Then go for a job with the 60% of employers who don't check and clean it up.

Want an IT job? The government is hiring. As if they don't have enough databases already. They'll be hiring 273,000 workers over the next 3 years across all occupations, but the biggest opportunity is for IT.

Think card check, the legislation that stops secret ballots in union elections is a good idea? Then you're clueless about how unions will strong arm you. They'll even strong arm their own members-- like the UPS employees who were forced to write letters to their lawmakers in favor of stringent labor rules that will affect non-unionized Fed Ex. These aren't just Fed Ex. claims. Disgruntled UPS workers spilled the beans.

The US Chamber of Commerce may be on the wrong side of the immigration debate, but they got it right about Global Warming. Prove it, they say. Here's a computer model that shows that global warming is the sun's strength, not man's doing.

Speaking of light, the EU has started phasing out incandescents. 100 watters, already gone. Here's more on that. Never mind they're not bright enough.

Many years ago phone phreak extraordinaire Captain Crunch (John Draper) pulled what may have been his greatest prank. He managed to use his phreaking skills to get sitting president RIchard Nixon on the phone. Once speaking to the leader of the free world he informed him there was an emergency in California. Los Angeles had run out of toilet paper. I was thinking about that when I read this headline: Cash strapped Cuba says toilet paper running short.

Keeping my fingers crossed that Orly Taitz will have success on October 5th getting the judge to grant her discovery motion. Judge Carter looks like the first fearless, honest justice. Interesting that it's been this hard vetting Obama. The media's been absolutely no help which is really astonishing when you realize that they did probe the background of other candidates.

Orly meanwhile is fighting this on her own. She can use help. OrlyTaitzEsq.com --check it out.

TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 8, 2009 5:00 PM (PT) It is a shocker-- a US District Judge in Orange County, CA, David Carter, has tentatively scheduled a trial on Obama's eligibility. His words are encouraging-- that if there are legitimate constitutional questions on eligibility they should be resolved, but two rulings will be fothcoming. 1. Will Orly Taitz be granted discovery? 2. will the DOJ motion to dismiss the case be granted? Those are biggies and they'll be decided on October 5th. Here's the story.

Gold rises? No, the dollar falls, but either way, gold is over $1,000 an ounce at this writing. Meanwhile the G-20 wants to limit the pay and profits of bankers, and Switzerland just displaced the US as having th emost competitive economy.

If you're not convinced you don't want government health care (and that's what it ultimately is-- don't fall for the rebranded 'health care reform' rhetoric), I often suggest you look at the NHS. The British system is ever instructive. Today's lesson? Question your doctor, lose your kid.

Government health care is not much better in Australia, where sleep deprived doctors have been told to drink coffee.

We know a lot about Van Jones, the green jobs czar who just resigned. Yes, we can thank Glenn Beck for a lot of the info, but where did he get it? From blogger in New Zealand, Trevor Loudon. Here's how he Loudon uncovered the details. Talk to you at 7!

LABOR DAY MONDAY SEPTEMBER 7, 2009 11:00 PM (PT) Continuing from the links I put up before the show, let me add the text of Obama's address to school kids. When you read it, note that he is talking to the ghetto. Does he not think there's a reason to motivate middle and upper middle class kids who have many issues including parental pressure, sibling comparisons and other pressures to succeed who may be crumbling along the way? That's not even in Obama's consciousness I guess. It's definitely not in the speech. One group says it's illegal and unconstitutional-- particularly the lesson plans accompanying the talk.

The "birth" controversy is still in the news-- and it will be until Obama stops spending a fortune to obscure his past. If he'd show us the long form birth certificate and the school records which have repeatedly been requested, the matter may well be dropped. But that's beyond rhetorical as he won't do any of that. He'll go so far as to have the DOJ file a brief asking that the matter be dismissed, even though they're uninvolved.

That suit will be a fisaco tomorrow morning. Orly will be in court and a couple of her clients will be trying to fire her, but one of them, Lucas Smith, will testify under oath that he has the original Kenyan birth cert-- that is if the judge lets it get that far. If the judge acquiesces to the DOJ, then case closed.

But does the cert matter anyway? You have to produce yours, but the government has been maintaining for years that it doesn't prove anything. Taken with other records though, it does. So let's have those school records too, please.

We spent a lot of time talking about Van Jones. So who do you think, if anyone will be the next to go? Here's some speculation.

What does a politician want most of all? To be reelected. And there's more than a few who are worried about the midterm elections right now. The consensus is that the economy will tell the tale. Right now it's not a good story. Five more banks failed Friday. That's 89 so far this year.

The UN says we can make it all better with a global currency. You knew that was coming. China is alarmed by the money we're printing-- and that's no big surprise either.

Meanwhile the recession is driving restauranteurs from brick and mortar buildings to mobile trucks. (Yes, truckside dining is not just for Tacos anymore.) This is a story about how one can adapt to any free market condition thrown at them. Just imagine what could happen if we truly deregulated health care. I'll get back to that thought in a moment, but first more on the economy.

Five more banks failed this week. 2 out of 5 Californians are out of work. GM is dropping 70% of the Cadillac franchises. No list yet. Barack is being accused of making Depression Era mistakes. Not hard to come to that conclusion. So no wonder we guffaw when he says he aims to make retirement saving simpler. Please don't help us. Please. Wasn't the stimulus supposed to be about jobs, and reviving the economy? The best you can say about it is it's being spent to shore up government programs-- then there's the $3 million worth of auto lawyers, $25 million worth of pork and ham and that reach-in freezer. They're reaching in, alright. That story is here.

It sounds like a joke-- the latest status symbol? A job. But that's exactly the grand prize in this Italian lottery.

So after Obama's addressing school kids, he'll address congress on the health care plan. Probably the same aggregate experience level in dealing with complex issues. Interesting to note that 'government health care' is being dropped as a news reference point. Now it's 'health care reform' since who could be against that? I'll give you plenty of reason why it should be you. The most often heard response to anti-Obamacare rhetoric is 'what else can we do?' Fortune's Shawn Tully did a great six part (so far) feature on what that is, exactly. Part 1: Designing The Ideal Health Care System, Part 2: Don't Like Obamacare? Here's An Alternative, Part 3: Obamacare Could Cost You $4,000 A Year, Part 4: Four Hidden Costs Of Healthcare, Part 5: White House Drug Deal Won't Save Money & Part 6: The Crazy Math Of Healthcare Reform. Cogent, simple and eminently workable-- that is if the government really wanted to solve this, which they don't. They want to take it over.

Of course it's going so badly, Obama may need a crisis to revive his health care bill. Just what might that be? Pondering here. So who would be in charge of Obamacare? Union bosses get a big role (which may be why it will not pass- they're hell bent on the public option, and that's unlikely to survive at this juncture).

Can't talk healthcare without hte NHS. Here's a story about their blunders that allowed a cannibal to dine. Dinner of two? But that's an unlikely occurrence anywhere. Let's get down to routine mistakes. Cannibal germs-- like misdiagnosing necrotizing fasciitis (flesh eating bacteria).

Americans are more concerned with H1N1-- and here's the really scary thought-- most parents want to have their kids vaccinated. We've told you about the problems with that, but the good news is that with so many lining up, there's hardly a worry about it being compulsory any time soon.

Still not worried about cell phone radiation? Maybe this will change your mind. Worried about the Red Chinese flag flying over the Whilte House later this month. Just routine (so they say). It's to honor the 60th anniversary of New China's founding.

Check out a great parody here. It's Tim Hawkins' "The Government Can". You'll love it. Then there's William who listens to us on Shortwave (WWCR 3.215 Midnight -3 CT, M-S). He's done the Ballad of Mary Jo. Bet you never thought you'd hear the full Kopechne tale in full detail set to music and video.

Are we ready to admit the War on Drugs is a total failure and the cost is over a million US citizens jailed each year. The Argentina supreme court has the right idea as do many other Latin American countries. Will we follow suit? We should. Here's a roundup of what's happening south of us.

When a non-lethal weapon is too painful to use in Iraq because it might be construed as torture, it comes to Homeland Security for us. Think I'm kidding. Read this.

Between 16 and 25? It's a good bet the government has harvested all your personal data. They've been checking you out for years. Read it here.

Really sorry to tell you that Billy Smith has passed away. The long time disc jockey was synonymous with Beach Music. Read about him at John Hook's BeachShag.com

And keep Idaho Observer editor Don Harkins in your prayers. He and the rest of the IO staff are real patriots, bringing you news you need to read that you often won't see elsewhere. Sad to report that Don is in critical condition, suffering from recently diagnosed myeloid leukemia. He has every alternative therapy available to him but can't use any until he's off life support. If you can pray for that, it will be appreciated.

LABOR DAY MONDAY SEPTEMBER 7, 2009 5:00 PM Yes, we're live tonight. Plenty of things to talk about too. Astrologically speaking, mercury went retrograde last night. Mercury controls communication and transportation (among other things). This is not a good time to start anything-- sign a new contract, take a new job. But if you're revisiting something you've already done-- like revising that nasty divorce agreement (or any contract), this is the best time for it. It's not the kind of effect that makes planes fall out of the sky, but it might be the time that you miss your flight, or the airline loses your luggage. Lots of confusion 'What you heard is not what I thought I said' pretty well sums it up. Mercury will go direct on September 29th. But hard core astrologers will tell you that the effect won't be totally gone until Mercury returns to the point in the zodiac where it was when it went retrograde. Add a few weeks for that . And if you're wondering how often this happens-- about 3 1/2 times a year for about 3 weeks. So it's possible that you were born when Mercury was retrograde. If so, these retrograde periods are the probably the only time you feel in sync.

Speaking of timing, the timing of Van Jones' resignation is telling. Midnight Saturday night over Labor Day weekend? Talk about wanting to minimize press coverage. The greatest outrage to me is that apparently making it public that the guy was a self proclaimed radical communist with a body of organizing to punctuate it wasn't reason to boot him. Discovering he had signed a '9-11 was an inside job' petition cooked him. Dick Morris was very vocal saying that was why had to go. Personally I thought the communism connection was the biggest issue. So how did he get the job in the first place? Here's the background. And how did we find out about it? Thank Glenn Beck.

What's obvious is that the bloated invasive questionnaire the Obama administration would be filled out by all cabinet or deputy applicants, was not filled out by Jones-- or any czar. They're exempt, probably among many exemptions. Oh speaking of exemptions-- never mind conflicts of interests. Just issue a waiver.

Maybe not a conflict of interest-- but definitely an interesting connection. Michael Moore's agent is none other than Rahm Emmanuel's brother. He mentions him in this 2004 article. Michael's latest effort? Declaring war on capitalism. He wants nothing less that complete overthrow of the system.

One system that needs to be overthrown is the insane federal child support enforcement laws. In every state, it's a disaster. Take Dallas where a 19 year old boy is losing half his paycheck-- donned for his 13 year old kid. The fact that he would have fathered the kid at 6 apparently has not stopped the garnishment. The video is here.

Countless stories as bad or worse. But what if you are owed child support? And what if your ex paid it? And what if the state won't forward it to you for months? Here's the story of a broken system in Minnesota. But if you think the state is bad, private collection agencies are worse. Here's one that just filed bankruptcy. No word on whether what they've collected goes to the proper recipients.

Support System Down is Angelo Lobo's documentary about this atrocity. It's about to be shown in Atlanta. It's still somewhat of a work in progress and Angelo can use donations.

Speaking of donating-- the Pay Pal option has been activated at LimbsForCarla.org. If you've been waiting to contribute for the ability to do it by credit card easily on line, wait no more. Thanks!

Speaking of online-- do you have a fast convenient easy GMail account? Don't rest easy-- Google is about to turn over your identity to the government-- if you're a journalist in the Caribbean. Them today, you tomorrow. Of course they must respond to a subpoena. They could try to fight it, of course, but they won't. Here's the point though: if they didn't keep extensive information on its users, there'd be nothing to turn over to the state. But they do, and they will.

Soon though, it may not matter what you use or where you use it online. Internet censorship is going global. And China, first in internet censorship, is closing in on the identity of anonymous commenters. I don't want to conjure what they'll do with them. And that isn't the half of it.. we've got healthcare, federal intervention in a birther suit, Obama's speech tomorrow... a little something missing from it that we'll discuss, and so much more. Links o'plenty after the show.

FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 4, 2009 10:30 PM (PT) It was great talking with John Hook earlier. You can hear the show on the stream replaying all weekend, but if you want to download the hour we spent with John, go to MyStreamingServer.com and follow the simple instructions.

Really nice to hear from so many fellow Beach Music lovers especially Tommie James of "Second Nature", Rhonda McDaniel and Steve Jarrell. Thanks also to Willie C. for spreading the word about Beach Music and to JD Cash for suggesting we talk with 'Fessa Hook. We'll do it again!

We played trivia in the 2nd and 3rd hours. If you're here for the answers-- click on Trivia to your left. Bumper Stumpers are up, as usual, under Music.

FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 4, 2009 12:01 AM (PT) Trivia tonight! In the first hour we'll talk with John Hook. If you love Beach Music, you gotta hear the 'fessa talk about it. Maybe you don't even know what Beach Music is-- like obscure R&B? This show is for you. Meantime, check out John's site BeachShag.com and get to John's Endless Summer 24-7 stream instantly here. Talk to you at 7 (PT).

THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 3, 2009 10:30 AM (PT) Good to talk to Steve Bryant earlier tonight. If you haven't yet, check out his SteveBryant.tv website and his music page too. Links for a few things we just discussed...

Diebold sells its voting machine division. Good news and bad news-- good they're out of the voting machine business. Bad that ES&S now has a virtual monopoly.

Great quote from Ronald Reagan in 1987: "One of the traditional methods of imposing statism or socialism on a people has been by way of medicine. It's very easy to disguise a medical program as a humanitarian project. Most people are a little reluctant to oppose anything that suggests medical care for people who possibly can't afford it." That's exactly why this administration is dwelling on that point. They're not telling you that it's the IRS will administer the financial details of the program and in so doing they will be expanded to unprecedented levels of involvement in your life. Nor do they mention that countless bureaucrats will have access to your most private financial information.

Your health may be in danger at some of these health care rally. Here's a story about a senior citizen protesting health care who had his finger bitten off by someone supporting it.

THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 3, 2009 2:00 AM (PT) Happy Birthday Bucky Lemon! End of good news. Just yesterday we were talking about how the White House is being sued for its online request that critics of Obama be reported. Now they're doing it again. But this time through a contractor who will capture and store all the information, including identifying information, posted about Obama on public websites, such as social marketing sites. Read this outrage here.

More outrage from parents rebelling against Obama's planned TV speech to school kids. Shades of Hitler Youth here. It's not just the speech-- it's the assignments that the grade school kids are to think about during it-- like how best to help Obama reach his goals, for openers. It didn't take long for the Department of Education to revise those lesson plans. They referred to them as 'inartful'. Regardless, some Texas parents are asking their kids be exempt and, fortunately there is an opt out provision in Houston. But elsewhere?

Elsewhere other indoctrination is taking place. Parents in Utah called the video "radical leftist propaganda". Read about what elementary school kids were shown here.

Any wonder why Obama's approval ratings are sinking? What he should be worried about is how low he's falling among independents. That's here. And he's really between a rock and a hard place with healthcare. Those independents don't want it anymore than conservatives do, and should he pander to them by dropping the government option, the AFL-CIO promises to be against him. Here's their take.

What this administration fails to see is that health care dissent has deeper roots. It's a powder keg issue at any time (just ask Hillary Clinton) but now it's just more symptomatic of an administration hell bent on taking over too much for most American's to tolerate. One of the most cogent summations of what's wrong with Obamacare comes from Rep. Mike Rogers, a republican from Michigan. Hear what he had to say here.

Nary a day goes by that the NHS (the British system that some American health care proponents cite as a shining example) doesn't punctuate why we'll have none of it, thank you. In this episode, patients are incorrectly considered terminal and sustenance is removed, guaranteeing their diagnosis pretty quickly.

Sad to say that Freedom Communications, publisher of the Orange County Register and many others, is filing for bankruptcy. Sad because they're the closest to libertarian editorially among newspapers. Privately held, they're the 10th newspaper publisher to file for bankruptcy protection over the past year. So how bad is the economy? Employees are ready and willing to take significant pay cuts.

As promised, a couple stories on Traitor Ted-- yes, absolute proof that Teddy Kennedy was a traitor here and here. He was salivating to dethrone Reagan in '83, but it wasnt' the first time he offered a sweet deal to the communists. Back in '76, he made the same overtures to hurt Jimmy Carter. Anything to be president-- even selling you country out and passing laws that would protect anyone from discovering it. Not sure that tops the Kopechne incident in character revelation, but speaking of Mary Jo, here's a piece on why we should call it Kopechne care. You'll note the last sentence-- now that Kennedy is no longer running up the congressional bar tab, the 'elder statesman' of the democrat party is now Sen. Robert Byrd, a former member of the Ku Klux Klan. Good stuff.

11 more companies flee Glenn Beck. Again, this is not about Beck. It's about companies who see now downside in ignoring conservative customers. Read the list here, and note the comments from Mercedes Benz. They have a commitment to diversity and inclusion. Funny, I see them advertising on things that exclude anyone remotely conservative. Let them know there's a big downside to their political correctness-- like dollars from the majority of Americans who are outraged by the rhetoric they don't mind sponsoring.

Here are the Iowa and Florida quarantine documents floating around online. A lot of people concerned that they'll be rounded up-- enough that Iowa commented. They're templates. No plans to quarantine anyone. Begs the question of why they're ready with these 'templates' but that's not answered here.

Now we get to the good stuff. Japan's first lady claims she was abducted by aliens.

A lot of folks upset over the diversity officer of the FCC and what government action might affect broadcasters. Better than the Saudi Arabian suggestion of simply shooting TV station owners to death.

Who are the world's worst tourists? Russians. World's worst pilots? Well, I don't know if it's all Germans, but this drunk certainly is a candidate.

And finally a cancer screening that really won't hurt-- breath test for Lung Cancer. Oh, one more. Have you heard the UN is suggesting 5-year olds be taught to masturbate? It sounds like the start of a bad joke-- and it is. The punchline is they mean it. I don't want to see the lesson plan and I hope to god it doesn't come with a video.

TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 1, 2009 11:00 PM First-- links for stories we featured last night and earlier tonight: Harbinger of things to come-- What happens to you when you're in the service, take the vaccines they tell you to take and are left critically injured? The VA doesn't consider that an injury for which you should be compensated, that's what. It's here.

The problem we have with with Obamacare, you see, is that we just don't understand the logic of rationing-- we won't be content to be prohibited from buying drugs the government won't give us and we won't accept not receiving care unless the government has enough money to give it to everyone. Personally I think that's the good news, but the British perspective is here.

Think this is America? A cop at a townhall meeting proudly said "It ain't no more" when he forbid a protestor from exercising his first amendment rights. The cop seems illiterate but you can bet he's parroting orders from on high. Read it here.

More on the hypocrisy of the Obamites accusing health care protestors being organized operatives here. It's a story of a woman at a Texas meeting praising health care claiming to be a doctor-- only she isn't. And not only was she a plant, but check out the plant with her. This is not a horticultural story not matter how much their IQs might indicate it.

Fat chance that the FCC diversity guy might look into ABC and NBC who aren't diverse enough to air ads against Obama care. It's here.

A couple hospitals already threatening employees-- take the swine flu shot or be fired. Here's West VIrginia and here's New York.

Pleased to note, the White House is being sued over its chilling online request that people turn in those opposed to Obamacare. None other than the AAPS and CURE are the plaintiffs. Speaking of the web, here's a dangerous browser. It's gonna red flag every questionable assertion online. Ready to guess what it will consider questionable? That part isn't mentioned in this article.

Even if the White House doesn't get you, your employer might if you dare to circulate an anti-Obama email. Here's what happened to a guy working for Target.

I'm not sure if I've linked this previously-- it's about a bill proposed on April Fool's Day. I wish it was a joke, but in light of events since then, legislation that would give Obama control of the internet in an emergency is the very definition of chilling. S.773 proposed by Rockefeller and backed by Bayh, Nelson and Snowe fortunately is not out of committee.... yet.

Equador takes a page out of Chavez' playbook-- they just shut down television stations that dare to dis the government. Correa's announcement is here. Meanwhile, good news out of Mexico and Argentina-- a move towards legalizing drugs and a great supreme court decision from the latter, here.

Another Army officer refusing deployment until it can be proven that Obama is constitutionally qualified. Read about a flight surgeon, Captain Connie Rhodes, MD here. But that's not the only side against our pres. Obama's angering his own base by his inaction. Read about Alcee Hasting's issues with him. And Alcee's not alone. The latest Zogby poll shows Obama's approval rating plummeting.

More along the lines of 'question ACORN, you're a racist'. But pleasingly Kerry & McCain are trying to stop their electioneering tactics cold. Not sure they'll have success-- and there's definitely a downside to their scheme (like your address becoming public), but here it is.

Bad economic news? Can it get worse than having to pay to put your money in the bank? Negative interest rates hit Sweden. But here in the states, Obama is ready to give $2.7 billion in tax breaks-- to a British Rum company. With moves like that, the government needs more money from you. And they think they've found a way to get it-- compare the amount you pay in mortgage dollars with the amount you claim as income. Here's the plan.

READ THIS. And understand that while people are talking about advance directives, this is what can happen if you haven't chosen a guardian for you in case you're mentally incapacitated. It's not an isolated story, but it's always a shame when the state sticks you in a home and spends down your assets. Don't let it happen to you. Don't depend solely on your spouse. Have something in writing that appoints a third party to be your guardian if your spouse is unable to act for you. It's more than a durable power of attorney-- it's getting someone in your life to agree to be responsible for all decisions, financial and otherwise, concerning you, if necessary. Better someone you appoint than leaving it in the government's hands. Oh, and this is by far not the worst example of what might happen. Not by a long shot.

Is it possible Bank of America doesn't understand the ADA. How dumb and insensitive can employees be when a man with no arms is refused because he can't put a thumbprint on a check. Read this and hope heads roll.

One of the problems with "federal funds"-- states can be made to do all sorts of things. 23 of them won't and they lose unemployment funds.

You're a single mother, and your deployed to Iraq. You're worried about your daughter. You'll leave her with her father but you want assurances that it does not affect your custody. The National Guard assures you they have your back on this. You come back, your former partner sues for full custody and the National Guard is doing nothing. Think this woman is alone?

Your husband dies, you go to the funeral home, you tell them the body isn't your spouse. They tell you otherwise. But they're wrong-- and you find out in front of 200 people minutes before the service is to begin. That's when the hysterics start. Here's the story. Only in Philadelphia.

Ever feel suicidal? Sadly, many people have had those feelings and too many have acted on them. But cows? No word why they're jumping to their deaths in the Alps. But I'm sure you can get all sorts of environmental conspiracies going. Work at it. You'll have 2012 into the equation in no time. Please leave out Al Gore.

Morgellon's disease? It's where you start growing your own sweaters. Fibers come out of your skin. Sometimes metalic. For years MDs would not confirm it as an actual malady. But it is, and we still don't know why. I vote for genetically modified food. But that's not in this article.

Want something else to blame on your superior intelligence? Depression. Dumb people are partially immune. Ignorance is bliss. And on that note, we'll look at what we didn't discuss yet-- though I've been meaning to bring it up and hopefully will tonight.

Started to mention the scam that ensnared a number of Mormons. Members of the church and nothing to do with it, but they were targeted. When it sounds too good to be true, it generally is. This one's a gold bullion scam-- not buying it, but investing in it with a payoff that no one should have believed, but emotions and logic are often mutually exclusive.

Canadian health care? Read about 6,000+ surgeries that may be cut in Vancouver due to underfunding, detailed in the memo they didn't expect you to see. So is it any surprise that US hospitals are saving Canadian lives? The amazing part of this story, or probably not so amazing, is the patient still praises Canadian health care He says yes, the US hospital saved his life but Canada Health paid the bill.

Think all government health care isn't rationed? Look not further than Massachusetts, hailed as a model for how it will work. Don't ask immigrants-- legal immigrants-- about it. They're some of the first to feel the cuts. Think citizen's won't be next? Then there's the VA. More botched Cancer treatments-- are we surprised?

Over 1 million British subjects have been subjected to cruel and neglectful care by the NHS. No one disputes the report, but the NHS prefers it not be public (it is) because it might undermine the confidence subjects place in their world class care. How do you say this stuff with a straight face?

Think the downside of vaccines is a recent topic? Think again. They've been problematic since they were first used-- and we're going waaaay back. But even in more recent times-- like the turn of the last century, there was no shortage of warnings about the havoc they would wreak. And even if you're not felled by side effects, they don't deliver as promised. This will open your eyes. As for swine flu vaccine-- here's news of a link to a killer nerve disease.

Think government health care won't be business as usual-- backroom deals between politicians and lobbyists? How about Obama and the pharmaceutical industry? Already struck-- and it's Huffington Post that reported it.

Did you know there are people still in Katrina FEMA trailers? And not of their choosing. Simple inexpensive fixes would put them back in their homes, but bureaucratic red tape prohibits it. And this is the government you want to control your health care? Of course how much do you know about our government these days? Just when you learn something -- like more proof that Obama's environmental adviser, Van Jones, is a proud communist, documents proving it are scrubbed from the net. Fortunately things are cached. Here's news of his communist manifesto.

Here's a list of America's 5 most stressful cities-- and why. Chicago's #1. I'd disagree with that. Then there's the issue of depressed cities (think Detroit with its close to 30% unemployment)-- don't expect them to turn around for years according to this story. Speaking of unemployment, looking at real numbers, it's likely the worst it's been since the Great Depression and definitely the longest downturn since then. Of course it could be worse-- you could be homeless. A growing number of Americans are. Some of them are able to live in tents in campsites when cities don't force them to move on. But how bad is it really? Some say a good indicator is.... underwear sales.

One of the congressmen who wants your money in the form of higher taxes on what he thinks are "the rich" apparently doesn't think he's rich. Or maybe he doesn't think he has to pay taxes. Or maybe he just forgot he owned a million dollar house profit. Or the 1.3 million dollars in various business transactions he didn't report. Hard to figure what Rep. Charles Rangel is thinking but whatever is, do you want this guy in congress, not to mention chairing the Ways and Means committee which writes tax law? Hopefully the House Ethics Comittee will do its job. Here are some of the details.

The result of immigration in Great Britain? 1 out of every 5 murderers is an foreigner. Lots of reasons and the government is likely ignoring all of them. Here's details.

What would a suspect have to do in order for a cop to decide to taser a mother in front of her children? Whatever it is, this woman didn't do it. But the cop did. Here's the story. Plenty more to discuss, but that'll keep you busy a while. Talk to you tonight.

AUGUST 2009

SUNDAY AUGUST 30, 2009 11:00 PM (PT) And more apologies for not getting Wednesday and Thursday links up until now. I'm hereby rectifying that though.

Obama wants government whistleblowers to report to him. That would give the White House even more power which should worry you particularly when Barry's transparency has become completely opaque. Here's info on the stonewalling of questions about the latest radical advisor. Used to be that publicly admitting you're a communist, not to mention embellishing that fact lavishly and often would disqualify you from working for the government. Now apparently it's an asset.

Lots of speculation about why Obama isn't more forthcoming about his own past. If what we know is any indication, maybe it's a good tactic for him. Participating in a socialist party? You decide.

Meanwhile the FCC has a diversity officer who is apparently defines the phrase as encompassing all facets of the progressive agenda. Now never mind that the editorial boards of virtually every news operation in America are overwhelmingly comprised of liberal democrats (as well as virtually all staffers in those news rooms). Mark Lloyd is worried about conservative owners. Also nevermind that guys like Sam Zell didn't become billionaires by catering to any platform, or that Mr. Zell is actually more libertarian in bent, the fact that anything but ultra liberals are involved in the equation apparently worries our new diversity officer. Actually, newspapers might do well to court conservatives. As it is, their slump deepens.

From the 'now you've heard it all' department, former treasury secretary Robert Reich says the deficit is just too gosh darn small. Then there's 'spend wisely'. You'll be pleased to know that 3,900 stimulus checks went to prison inmates. 1700 were a mistake. No word yet on how many dead people receive them. Of course at least in prison you've got a roof over your head. That will come in handy if this official is right about protracted high unemployment, or if this Fed official is right about the real unemployment rate. Any doubt that the economy is a mess, however, can visibly be shaken by all the vacant real estate-- particularly big box stores.

So the Democratic headquarters in Denver were damaged. It took about a pico second for the head of the party to blame republicans. Turns out, it was their own kind. The republicans are still waiting for that apology.

Democrats know how to seize an opportunity. The death of Teddy Kennedy has revitalized their health care push-- his pet project. (Remember his other pet project was gun control-- but while we're remembering...) For those who want to call socialized medicine "Kennedy care" why not be more accurate and dub it "Kopechne care". You'll be waiting as long as she did for anything resembling quality medical care if we're stuck with any of these bills.

Of course the Obama camp continues to belittle the millions of people against their health care scheme. They refer to them as 'operatives' 'pawns' and others controlled by the republicans and as we've pointed out, they say this because it's their own favorite tactic. The latest? Recruiting college kids to join Obama's Army. They'll get college credit for promoting his agenda. Think there's any chance for conservative students to get credit for spreading their agenda. This rhetorical question is not addressed in this article. High school students meanwhile will be carrying census kits.

Hopefully you'll be able to avoid the swine flu vaccine-- but if for some reason you can't, here's advice on what you can do to minimize the effects it may cause. You're not alone if you don't want this shot. Most GPs are rejecting it. But maybe they shouldn't talk about the reasons. What did happen to the research scientist ready to blow the whistle on this untested cocktail?

Speaking out at all is becoming more of a problem. Never mind hate crime laws. In New Zealand a journalist who claimed 9-11 was an inside job was thrown into the looney bin. Hospitalized for 11 days because of her "delusions". Here's Clare Swinney's story in her own words.

If you're a trucker, you know how hard it is to find time to exercise. And if you're an over the road driver, you know how hard it is to find a place to exercise. Well, excuses be gone. You've got Truckercise. Click on it to see how you can stay fit within the confines of your vehicle.

Looking for something to set your website or stationery apart from the pack? How about a font that hardly anyone else has? Jeff Levine has over 300 of 'em from which to choose and they're cheap. Check 'em out here.

Congrats to Del Staecker. His "The Lady Gangster: A Sailor's Memoir" has been nominated by the Military Writers Society of America as "Best Memoir" in their 2009 awards. If you haven't read it yet, you can get a copy directly from Cable Publishing here.

FRIDAY AUGUST 28, 2009 10:30 PM (PT) Trivia answers are up (click on the link to your left). Bumper Stumpers are up (click on Music to your left) and I'll leave you with my promise to get the links from Wednesday's and Thursday's shows up before the weekend is out. Apologies for not doing it sooner. Still recovering from my hight altitude vacation, and acclimating Winston, our newest family member, Morgan the Magnificent's son. He's our 4th Bernese Mountain Dog and at 8 weeks already exhibiting stellar traits (like seeping through the whole show by my side). We'll get pictures up soon (and pictures of Yellowstone/Tetons too).

THURSDAY AUGUST 27, 2009 10:30 PM (PT) Here's an update list of the advertisers who pulled their sponsorship of the Glenn Beck Show over pressure from a liberal group. They clearly didn't think conservatives would mind being slapped in the face. Do you? Let them know at Defend Glenn.

Border Bob called last night and mentioned a group of retired border patrol agents to which he belongs. Check out their views NAFBPO.org. Christine from Dallas called about her "Kitty Angel Network". If you're a cat lover, check out her facebook page here. Beach music fan? You'll want to check out Johnny Cobb's website here. We'll be playing his latest, "Straight From The Heart" as one of our bumpers tonight. Nice shag beat! We played DK Davis' "Suspicous Minds" last night, check out his website here. His "65 Chevy" (as I predicted) just went platinum.

And don't forget to check out Dick Kupla's iudexonline.com. You'll certainly be interested in knowing the UN has banned dinosuar hunting. Many liberals are saying it's about time. You'll also have fun at Jim deYong & Mark Fleming's iHateTheMedia.com. A lot of laughs but also some great current news stories others may are ignoring. Jim, as you know, has RadioLogoLand.com-- and if you're a radio junkie, you gotta check it out. I'm about to order a few more shirts. A nice CKY and a WCFL.

I have 14 more links for you from last night, and about 14 minutes left to do some show prep for tonight, so I'll save 'em until after the show. The next installment should be a links lollapalooza. Apologies for my lazy self not getting them up last night. Talk to you in less than an hour.

WEDNESDAY AUGUST 26, 2009 4:00 PM (PT) Here's a list of some of the companies that have decided to drop Glenn Beck to appease Color of Change. It's this liberal group's agenda to force Beck from the airwaves. In their own words here, 'they've got a toxic asset and they can clean it up or get rid of it.' Advertisers proudly do as the group wants-- largely because they feel they have more to fear by not appeasing them. But what if enough paying customers decided to shop elsewhere because of their actions? They might think twice. You may want to counteract "Color Of Change's" message by delivering your own to sponsors who feel they won't lose millions of customers like you. Read this also. The quotes from sponsors in both articles linked in this paragraph poignantly state their positions. Please state yours. Oh while I'm at it, you may want to see the shameful list of companies that support La Raza here.

Several of you have asked me where in the Obamacare bill it says illegals will be covered, since Obama claims they won't. Take a look at HR 3200 (link to the whole bill is on the Links page). Go to Section 242 (a) (1) "Affordable Credit Eligible Individual". Note that if any one family member qualifies, the entire family qualifies. Can you say anchor baby? Tom Tancredo is on top of this here.

Everyone's talking about Michelle Obama's personal staff of 26 (that's here) but never mind. A list of Obama's Czars dwarfs it many times over.

Interesting articles on the economy. While the White House projects bigger deficits, bigger debts here, consumer confidence soars. That alarming story is here. But don't join in that confidence. I can virtually guarantee that the rosy trend they believe some consumers see can not continue. Why? We've talked about all the reasons, but the fact that Wall Street is repackaging the toxic mortgage debt that fueled the party in the first place might be a factor. That's here.

Henry Kissinger in the '70s commented that if you control the oil, you can control continents. But if you control the food, you'll control populations. A fine time to note that Monsanto is increasing the price of seeds by 42%.

Some times you just have to laugh over the length that people will go to obscure the truth. Changing what Obama's grandmother said about him being born in Kenya is laughable. Check this out.

AARP has lost 60,000 members and counting over their support for Obamacare. They'd like to spin it as insignificant, but it isn't. The story is here. They've also claimed the cancellations are from members who don't understand their real position on this. (Nice-- kinda like calling their members befuddled old people, though they of course didn't say that.) If their members truly understood their positions, that 60,000 would increase exponentially. Might be time that we lean of companies that offer AARP discounts to broaden that to any senior citizen. Why should you have to join a long time liberal group to get a good hotel rate?

From the "only the government" files-- Missouri lawmakers accidentally banned Tupperware. And one thing about the recession-- it's enough to make libertarians out of any city council looking for cash-- like Colorado Springs where they see profit in selling the guns they've confiscated. But private companies are not much better, and worse when they're in collusion with public employees. Here's what happened when a Florida bank accidentally auctioned off the wrong house.

And finally TV fans... Cindy Speaker has started StateLawTV. It's an internet television channel. Cindy has worked with lawyers for years and had designed the channel to help injury victims. Keep it in mind if you find yourself needing legal representation for personal injury issues.

TUESDAY AUGUST 25, 2009 6:30 PM (PT) Tonight at 8 (PT) we'll talk with JD Cash. He's an old friend and outstanding Beach Music performer of many decades. His new CD will be available this week and youc an find out more at JDCash.com. Always a pleasure to share some airtime with an old friend and great talent. ("My Dancin' Shoes" and "Strolling On The Boardwalk" will forever be faves.)

Also good to take a moment away from the usual political harangue. Speaking of which... I am more than incensed over the advertising boycott of Glen Beck. My anger has nothing to do with Beck or his show, but rather what is a blatant disregard for conservative customers. I have a strong feeling that these companies don't see a downside to catering to the well organized ultra left, and it's up to the rest of us to give them an attitude adjustment economically.

Perhaps the worst offenders are those companies that are saying they don't advertise on political shows or politically biased programming-- when in fact they are sponsoring a myriad of programs that any truly neutral person would see as beyond left slanted.

I don't blame the organized left. I blame the rest of us who have continued to patronize companies that fall for their tactics. Let's face it, most of these commercial entities are not politically motivated (there are some exceptions of course, but most are motivated by their bottom lines). If they believed that they would lose significant revenue if they acquiesced to demands from liberal groups, they would think twice before doing it.

You think your vote doesn't count? I can guaarnatee you it does when you vote with your dollars. Even if you hate Glen Beck and his philosophy, this issue is much bigger than that. As far as I'm concerned an economic war has been declared and it's up to all of us t fight it. More at 7 (PT) on that and a lot of things.

MONDAY AUGUST 24, 2009 10:30 PM (PT) I'm baaack. Many thanks to Jerry Corsi for spending the last three hours with us. If you missed the show, you can hear it on the stream repeatedly (click on the "Listen" button to your left) until tomorrow's live edition or download it at MyStreamingServer.com.

Dr. Corsi's latest book "Why Israel Can't Wait: The Coming War Between Israel and Iran" will be available in print on September 29th but you can download a Kindle version from Amazon here. You can preorder a hard copy from Barnes & Noble here or buy a downloadable e-book here. Read all of his wonderful investigative work at World Net Daily. Here's an index. And don't forget you can subscribe to his Red Alert newsletter here.

Plenty more to say, but I'm still in "I need a vacation from my vacation" mode. So I'll be back before tomorrow's show with what's on my mind.

FRIDAY AUGUST 14, 2009 10:30 PM (PT) Click on "Trivia" to your left for tonight's answers, and "Music" for the Bumper Stumpers. Next week we're off in Obama's footsteps. Actually we didn't know he was headed to Yellowstone, but we'll be there right behind him. As he goes to the Grand Canyon, we'll hang out in the Tetons. Meanwhile, on XM, you'll hear:

MON. AUG. 17: Alan Watt / Andre Eggelletion
"Thieves In The Temple" - Andre Eggelletion
"Where The Right Went Wrong" - Andre Eggelletion

TUE. AUG. 18: Dr. Jerome Corsi

The links are for their websites and books. If you want to listen online, we'll try to stream them daily, depending on internet availability. You can also go to MyStreamingServer.com and download the shows, anytime. Have a great week!

THURSDAY AUGUST 13, 2009 11:00 PM (PT) Three big hours of trivia tomorrow night. In the meantime, you'll want to read this about Obama's environmental czar. The organization he helped create a few years back is instrumental in bullying advertisers to drop sponsorship of the Glenn Beck Show. I think Geigo, Lawyers.com, P&G, Progressive Insurance and SCJohnson have every right to decide where to advertise. I also think you have every right to decide where to shop. I suspect these groups don't see a downside from siding with groups who wish to stifle voices contrary to their own. Will their customer base tell them differently? That may be up to you.

THURSDAY AUGUST 13, 2009 12:20 AM (PT) Thought I'd again link to the entire Health Car house bill should you wish to read it for yourself. Here are 5 freedoms you'll lose if Obamacare passes. Here are a few more hidden secrets you need to know.

The town hall meetings are encouraging, particularly if you think Americans are too apathetic. Much as the left wants to spin attendees as orchestrated pawns, most are concerned citizens. Here's info on that. The real orchestrators are in the Obama camp. Did they think their scripted questions wouldn't be discovered? Read about the 11 year old plant here. (What's not surprising is the mainstream news covered it as if the young girl initiated the question on her own. Never mind her mother is involved with groups that are known for their community organizing.)

Want to really be disgusted? California, which is handing out IOUs to vendors in the millions of dollars, won't allow those IOUs to be used by the vendors that receive them to fulfill their sales tax obligations-- tax that was generated by items sold to the state which paid for them in the IOUs. It's beyond hypocrisy, it's absolute arrogance. It's here.

So a Miami TV station does a story on how awful it was that people put Obama "Joker" posters up at a post office. They blamed it on an internet campaign and blasted such evil do-ers. Only problem is the comments section on the station's website was virtually 100% supportive of those who placed the posters. So what did the TV station do? They took down the comments section. Read about it here.

But Florida and freedom of speech are now officially mutually exclusive. Read about this rapper whose song got him two yeas in prison. Never mind that it never got any airplay. What he also didn't get was a lawyer. He's not a sympathetic fellow but his sentence should worry all of us. Talk to you tonight at 7 (PT).

WEDNESDAY AUGUST 12, 2009 1:00 AM (PT) The town halls continue to be a problem for Obama care- and most of the shouting and hollering happens when those against it aren't allowed to speak. When they are, they get enthusiastic applause. Here's a roundup of what's been happening at these events.

Obama's also have a problem with people who have memories, or video and audio of his former statements. Saying now that he doesn't support single-payer plans goes against his own repeated words. Read Peter Barry Chowka's American Thinker article on it here.

The AARP is now saying they haven't endorsed Obama's plans-- that comes after a lot of member dissatisfaction. But haven't they? Read here about their new CEO who puts government health care at the top of his want list-- and this is from their own internal public relations!

Just how bad are genetically modified seeds? You may never find out. Seems the manufacturers of these seeds (Monsanto most notably) put restrictions on them. They explicitly forbid independent research. Meanwhile the government takes their word for their internal results. Read this. Of course animals are smart-- they won't eat the stuff. (We stupid humans scarf it down.) Here's a story about that.

From the 'what are they thinking' file... illegals are encouraged to boycott the 2010 census. It's not about fear of being discovered, it's about.. well, I really don't know what it's about. Maybe you'll get more out of this article than I did.

And if Obama doesn't have something major league to hide by not giving the public his long form birth certificate (and other docs like college transcripts) then maybe you can explain why he's spent $1.4 billion since the election to stop you from getting it. That's here. Speaking of Barack, his illegal alien aunt is back in public housing in Boston. Read about it here.

Then there's China where 10,000 rioters disappear overnight. In early July members of a muslim group attacked Han chinese in the Xinjiang region. 189 were killed, a thousand or so arrested. Later in the month, the 10,000 involved in the public uprising disappeared-- literally. No one is saying who took them, if they're alive, incarcerated or what. And no one is talking about it internationally either. Where are these people? Read this. China's official response, here, is that it didn't happen.

More evidence that fathers have no rights-- read this story. It speaks for itself. We'll try to have the father in question (Cody O'dea) on the air with us soon. Even more outrageous is this story from Canada which likens over the road commercial drivers with rapist murderers. Talk about out of context and over the top. It's all here. Talk to you tonight at 7 (PT).

TUESDAY AUGUST 11, 2009 12:30 AM (PT) Think the swine flu won't be an excuse to take away your rights? Read this conference brochure. You'll particularly like the unexplained section on "unwillingness to follow government orders". Then take a look at these laws... and this judge's opinion that your rights can be suspended. Feeling uneasy yet? The cops can force you into god only knows what- read it here. And if you try to flee they can shoot-- that's here.

Seems not many people like Obama care no matter how the administration choses to spin it. AARP got an earful from members-- that's here. But of course the Obama crowd says all those protesting against the draconian plan are pawns of lobbyists and have followed staged scripts. They ought to know. It's their favorite tactic. Read this ad recruiting employees to voice support.

Obamacare is patterned after the NHS-- the world's worst health care with notorious rationing and interminable waits-- horrible cancer survival rates because no one is treated in time. Plenty of needless loss of life and limb because of excessive waits. But don't you worry-- the NHS is the 3rd biggest employer in the world (right behind the Chinese Army and the Indian railroads). Imagine what would happen with less doctors. Don't imagine it too long, they say there'll be more. Read about the 1.2 million employees here.

Of course if you really don't want to comply with the administrations plans for you, they'll just send you off to the camps. Doubt it? Read this about the internment cops the national guard is hiring. Speaking of police state, Lancaster Pennsylvania, sleepy Amish country is getting 165 cameras to watch the citizens (do what-- milk cows?). And that's enough for citizen Craig to get a protest together. He's planning or August 29th. If you're in the area, email him here for more info.

Undoubtedly you're familiar with Alex Jones. You can say a lot about Alex but it's hard to get him on hate speech (if you're really listening). You Tube did. After enough complaints, they violated their own terms and conditions and pulled his video. They were equally biased against federal whistleblower Sibel Edmonds. Read it here. And here's more on Alex.

But it could be worse-- they could ban him from entering England. Doubtful, but still a stretch it happened to Michael Savage. The best part is the official letter Savage got that they'd reconsider if he renounced his views. Problem is, he doesn't share any of those views. Here's a page from the "When did you stop beating your wife" playbook. Talk to you tonight at 7 (PT).

FRIDAY AUGUST 7, 2009 10:30 PM (PT) Trivia answers up (Questions under "Trivia" and Bumper Stumpers under "Music"). I'll be back by Monday to tell you what's on my mind. Barack Obama is going to Guadalajara. Think they'll talk about CIFTA (and more here) or the Mexican Truck Program (more here too)? Bet on it.

THURSDAY AUGUST 6, 2009 10:20 PM (PT) Three hours of trivia tonight starting at 7 (PT). If you missed Alan Watt earlier, you can catch him on the stream replay now, or download the two hour file at MyStreamingServer.com.

THURSDAY AUGUST 6, 2009 4:00 PM (PT) Yes- we'll be talking with Alan Watt tonight from 7 to 9 (PT). If you've been wondering what the real story is behind the official government version (of anything, really), Alan will tell you. Check out his website CuttingThroughTheMatrix.com.

WEDNESDAY AUGUST 5, 2009 10:30 PM (PT) I think we're talking to Alan Watt tomorrow night. I'll tell you more when it's confirmed. You'll want to hear it.

Meantime, here's Senator Cornyn's concerns on Obama's 'citizen snitch' program. Interesting to read the comments of those perfectly OK with it. What exactly is the White House planning to do with the data? The White House is not only attempting to intimidate the citizenry but legislators as well. Here's a story from Rep. Darrell Issa about what he faced when he criticized the stimulus bill.

Of course nobody has to turn you in. Any doubts that your computer is being viewed by countless entities can be put to rest with this interesting story about how Amazon is able to erase ebooks you bought without your knowledge or participation. Speaking of online fun, I can't resist it. Make your own Kenyan birth certificate here. We printed one out for Morgan the Bernese Mountain Dog. Speaking of dogs, meaning to mention the Dog-O-Matic washer. Sounds good to me. Read about it here.

One good thing about a bad economy is the trend toward adopting the libertarian philosophy. Here's what some states are considering. Or just call in the National Guard. Here's what's going on in Birmingham, Alabama. Talk to you tomorrow night.

WEDNESDAY AUGUST 5, 2009 6:30 PM (PT) We'll talk to one of my favorite people in the first hour tonight-- Mary Ann Winkowski. Mary Ann's just like the rest of us-- except she converses with ghosts. This has led to an eventful life and a number of books including her first fiction effort, "The Book of Illumination". (Also read her "When Ghosts Speak". Click on either of 'em for a good price from Amazon.) Plenty to go over in the 2nd and 3rd hours- from the White House stifling free speech and asking citizens to spy on one another (yeah we talked somewhat about that last night but there's much more) to the restart of the Mexican Truck program and the word here that by 2011 half of all mortgages will be greater than the underlying home value. Wanna laugh? Brazil is telling citizens to save water--- by urinating in the shower. Click here to see I'm not making that up.

TUESDAY AUGUST 4, 2009 10:30 PM (PT) Here's a great quick analysis of the health care bill. No shortage of folks trying to refute those daring to bring up the truth of this monstrosity. Here's a refuting to the refuting. Of course you may want to be careful what you say. The White House wants citizens to turn in those of us daring to talk about it. You think I'm kidding? Read this, direct from whitehouse.gov. Pay attention to the part that says "Since we can’t keep track of (everything said about healthcare) here at the White House, we’re asking for your help. If you get an email or see something on the web about health insurance reform that seems fishy, send it to flag@whitehouse.gov." What?!?!

You want the government to control your health care? They can't even administer "Cash for Clunkers". You know about how they grossly underestimated what they'd have to spend, so should it surprise you that they've grossly overestimated how it will help the economy. Here's one article on that. Here's another on what' being trade in, and what's being bought. Now there's a list for what's acceptable, but read a typical story of a trade in made before that list came out. If he calls back, we'll hear the full story from a dealer as to what's really happening with the program. The cliffnotes include-- the traded in cars are being resold-- no matter what you're being told to the contrary. More tonight.

MONDAY AUGUST 3, 2009 10:30 PM (PT) We talked with Andre Eggelletion in the first hour. Read his "Thieves In The Temple" and "Where The RIght Went Wrong on National Security (and the left too)" (click on 'em for good prices from Amazon).

The big news though has to be Orly Taitz' assertion that she's got Obama's original Kenyan birth certificate. Does she? Here's an article from WND.com and here's one refuting it. Not weighing in myself other than to say that until Obama authorizes the release of all his official records-- birth, college transcripts, etc., the issue will not die. Harry Reid unwittingly got it entered into the official record-- read it here.

Last week while I was sick, congress was sickening all of us, passing the Insane Food Bill. Read about HR 2749 here. And see how your reps voted here. (Don't know who your rep is? Click here.) Speaking of sick, I've got natural swine flu immunity now-- should you come down with this dreaded disease, only warning I'll pass on is, don't think you're over it-- til your over it. I had three false recoveries. At this writing, I think the 4th is for real. Took exactly a week. Was actually milder than many flus-- less respiratory symptoms, but initially high fever and significant gastrointestinal distress.) Still kinda tired so I'll use it as an excuse to say "over and out". Talk to you tomorrow.

JULY 2009

FRDAY JULY 31, 2009 10:30 PM (PT) Trivia answers are up (click on "Trivia" to your left-- for Bumper Stumpers click on "Music"). I'll spend the weekend recovering from the flu I thought I'd beaten-- until I got on the air earlier tonight. Thanks for putting up with me. Talk to you Monday!

THURSDAY JULY 30, 2009 10:30 PM (PT) Three big hours of trivia tomorrow night at 7 (PT) as I continue to recover from the swine flu or whatever it is. Do call. Can't do trivia without you!

THURSDAY JULY 30, 2009 7:00 PM (PT) Seeing as how I've felt like death for the last few days, I thought we'd talk to dead people tonight. For that I need help. In the first hour, we'll speak with Rev. John White, a renowned medium from LilyDale. After that we'll talk with Sedona medium and psychic, Scottie Littlestar. If you've got questions, these folks can answer 'em. Should there be time left over, there's no shortage of things to discuss-- like whether I've got swine flu or food poisoning-- not serious about that conversation but along the swine flu lines, got something very telling about the focus of Obama care-- the vaccination schedule. Personally I'm relieved, I didn't want one anyway, but it's revealing to note here that seniors who used to be a priority for preventive medicine are now dead last. Talk to you in minutes, dead or alive.

WEDNESDAY JULY 29, 2009 6:45 PM (PT) I tried... but Jon won out. No way am I doing the show tonight. I may never know if it's swine flu or food poisoning but one thing is sure, you don't want me to do the show tonight. So we'll air a replay of Dr. Judy Wood, one of your favorite shows and hopefully I'll be talking to you tomorrow. (If you haven't heard Judy yet, it's a mindblower. Her take on 9-11 will have you asking the questions no one is prepared to answer, and to my mind, it's the only plausible explanation.) Andre Eggelletion is rescheduled for Monday. Apologies about this. I really thought I could do it tonight.

If you want to hear the Jerry Corsi interview from last night, go to MyStreamingServer.com you'll see it as a downloadable file. I'll also put it up on the stream after 10 PM (PT).

WEDNESDAY JULY 29, 2009 12:01 AM (PT) I'll get the downloadable 3 hour Jerry Corsi interview up as soon as I can. Hopefully later today. Right now, I'm in the throes of the flu and I can't sit upright or walk to get upstairs to digitize it. Fever? 101.1 (sounds like an FM dial position), chills, shakes, nausea, dry cough, stomach pains... I'll spare you the rest of the litany. It's the flu. No doubt about it. Whether it's the swine flu, I'll never know because I'm not getting out of bed to go anywhere, let alone a testing site. Tonight (assume I'm feeling better, and I want to assume that), we'll talk to Andre Eggelletion. He's written "Thieves In The Temple" and his take on the Federal Reserve is always worth hearing. Hope to talk to you then. (Click here for a good price at Amazon. Over and out.

TUESDAY JULY 28, 2009 12:01 AM (PT) We'll talk to Jerry Corsi tonight--for all three hours and yes we'll talk your calls. From illegal immigration to health care to the natural born citizenship crisis (and it will be a crisis), Jerry's on top of it all. Here's a link to some of his wonderful writings on World Net Daily.

Here's a link you'll want to bookmark. It's a wonderfully interactive map telling you of the economic woes in America county by county. Check it out. Speaking of the economy, he Catherine Austin Fitts show from last night is downloadable at MyStreamingServer.com.

So what does a former CIA officer commissioned to investigate the Obama birth issue have to say? Read it here. And here's more about those documents CNN says don't exist (The state of hawaii contradicts him by the way). Obamacare? The CBO deals it new blow economically speaking here (and this office is likely staffed by Obama's supporters).

Ending tonight on a couple good news stories... the Florida jury in the hospital verses illegal immigrant case sides with the hospital. That's here. (Of course tempering my glee is the fact that the federal government doesn't care-- hospitals will foot the bill for the health care of these lawbreakers without hope of reimbursement, but it does give us hope when a jury gets it anyway.) And here's India officially calling man-made global warming junk science. It's in Jerry Corsi's Red Alert.

MONDAY JULY 27, 2009 1:30 AM (PT) We'll talk with Catherine Austin Fitts tonight for the first hour of the show. In the 2nd hour we'll take your calls until 8:30 (PT). I think you'll have a few questions. Catherine, you may remember, is a former government insider who wound up with death threats for telling the truth about the financial shenanigans surrounding mortgages. We'll get her take on what's coming up next, but maybe more interestingly we'll have her clarify her thoughts on the ultimate plan-- the depopulation of the world as the only way to straighten out the economic mess. Read here how she thinks the magic number is 500 million left standing. Pretty interesting considering there are about 6 billion of us here now. Check out her website here and listen tonight.

FRIDAY JULY 24, 2009 10:30 PM (PT)  Trivia answers are up (click on “Trivia” for the questions and on “Music” for the Bumper Stumpers).  We’ll talk with Catherine Austin Fitts on Monday.  I’ll be back here to type more before the show.  Have a good weekend.

THURSDAY JULY 23, 2009 11:00 PM (PT) Larry Pratt's interview from earlier tonight is up under MyStreamingServer.com. Warning: This is the most ticked off I've been in a while-- read about this hospital in Florida. I'm 1000% on their side and absolutely enraged at our government. (They're forced to care for an illegal with no reimbursement and then are sued when they return the fellow to Guatemala, in a private hospital plane, at their expense? After spending 1.5 million on his care over 3 years? And the Guatemalan government agreed to accept the criminal?) Can you say "enraged"?

I'm also upset over one particularly egregious broken promise from Obama: Congress members will not be forced into Obama care-- and no, we can't have their plan. It's here. I'm also dismayed by GE's talk of American jobs and actually shipping them overseas while their CEO was promising otherwise. That's here.

Had to laugh at the roundup of legislators and... rabbis in this New Jersey scandal though the details aren't funny at all. And finally as the Obama birth controversy continues to heat up, now Hawaiian officials are saying that his original birth documents were lost when digitized... then why, less than a year ago, did they confirm they've reviewed them?! Read this.

And play trivia tonight! We'll put the world's troubles behind us for 3 hours starting at 7 (PT). Do call-- I can prattle on Monday through Thursday but for trivia we need YOU to call. Thanks!

THURSDAY JULY 23, 2009 12:01 AM (PT) Lots of requests for the show we did with Bob Crane. If you want to download it, go to www.mystreamingserver.com. We'll talk to Larry Pratt tonight and not a moment too soon. There's never been a time that our 2nd amendment rights have been so jeopardized. Join GOA if you haven't already. Every day fewer and fewer legislators are on "our" side.

Jon Corzine is a prime example of that. He considers you a potential criminal if you happen to own a firearm and he'll do his best to stop you from it. He was speaking out yesterday (read it here) on the day of the senate vote on the Thune-Vitter amendment which simply would have required states that issued concealed carry permits to honor permit holders from other states. It required a 3/5ths majority and it was pretty close. Might have passed had it not been for turncoats like Dick Lugar. Find out how your senators voted here.

A lot of talk about the Health Care bill which is a terror if ever there was one. But that said, some of the email accusations about it are a complete flight of fancy. Read the whole bill (HR 3200) for yourself here. It's bad enough just the way it is. The AMA is now supporting it and that has caused no less than the Mayo Clinic and other respected players to come out against what can not be, even in the best case scenario a betterment of patient care. Read about it here.

Think Swine Flu's a crock? Doesn't matter-- you're likely to be forced into being vaccinated anyway if the WHO gets its way. That's here. Of course they might not have to mandate vaccines-- just let employees sue employers should they come down with the flu in the workplace and the employers will mandate it. Far fetched? Read this.

No matter how it's mandated, one could be happier than pharmaceutical companies-- read about GSK and their 600% profit here. You wouldn't be surprised to learn that drug companies are a the heart of Obama care, but you'll never know. That transparency pledge he made repeatedly while campaigning was a crock. Read this, and this.

Meanwhile Obama picked a time to go on national tv to push his health care plan-- but NBC rejected it. They were not willing to displace Britain's Got Talent star Susan Boyle. Taking a second seat to Boyle, he pushed his talk up an hour. Fox didn't run it anyway. Read about it here. Should you be inclined to read the entire speech and press conference, here you go.

Now for real health care news-- supplements aren't harmless. Many can be a terrific help to your general health but some can cause you all manner of harm. Don't ingest anything you don't fully understand. Just because it's on the store shelves doesn't mean it's safe for you. Read about a woman with a brand new liver-- courtesy of a reaction to diet drug Hydroxycut, here.

FInally for something distasteful on the state level-- the MTA-- Maryland Transit Administration-- wants to put microphones on all public transportation-- busses and trains. The only thing stopping them is they think they may be sued, so they've written to the AG and asked if they could do it and whether they'll be forced to tell the public they're doing it. Aaargh here. Talk to you tonight!

WEDNESDAY JULY 22, 2009 2:30 AM (PT) Now you've heard it all. Taxing toilet paper in the name of climate change. Don't believe me? Read this.

Think Obama is doing everything he can to pass health care? If "everything" includes actually reading the bill, maybe not. Here's proof he doesn't know some of the most damning clauses in it. Or else he's really good at not admitting it.

If you think it's healthy being hit by a taser, have I got a story for you It's not about a death, though there have been quite a few. This is about spontaneous combustion. I don't think it was covered in the manual.

Sonia Sotomayor claimed she couldn't think of a self-defense case brought in front of the Supreme Court. Let's help her out here. There have been 14 in 90 years. Louisiana isn't big on the 2nd amendment either-- here's a story about New Orleans being sued to give back a gun improperly seized by police-- and here' s a story about the mayor of Shreveport backing up officers who used pro-2nd amendment bumper stickers as a reason to stop a motorist and take his legally carried firearm.

Call your senators this morning 202-224-3121-- or email them here. Tell them to vote yes on the Thune-Vitter self-defense amendment. It would cause states with concealed carry permits to respect such permits from any other state that has them. Common sense-- but this is the senate. Tell them vote yes.

Finally, read about a housing complex where owners have voted to ban smoking-- in the owners individual units. Yes home owners will be prohibited from smoking inside their own houses. Never mind what you think about smoking, the precendent here is terrifying. Talk to you tonight at 7 (PT).

MONDAY JULY 20, 2009 11:00 PM (PT) We'll have Bob Crane join us tomorrow night (Tuesday) at 7 (PT). If you're any kind of radio fan at all you'll want to talk with Bob. You'll learn about the new CCRadio-2 and what's up with the only decent replacement for your incandescent bulbs.

A lot of talk about health care-- and quite a bit about how to pay for it. Do you realize that one of the ways will be to stop you from any redress should you be badly injured through medical malpractice? Such suits are legendary when they're class actions enriching to obscene degrees only the lawyers (and maybe the lead plaintiff) but what if you're genuinely injured and left with a very compromised life? Forget about any compensation.

Take the case of Texas Airman Colton Reed here. The 20 year old serving at Travis Air Force base near Sacramento went in for routine laparoscopic gall bladder surgery. It was billed as very safe (usually is) with quick recovery time. In this case the Air Force surgeon mistakenly cut his aortic valve. He compounded that mistake by waiting hours to have Reed transported to a vascular surgeon at a state hospital who saved his life. Unfortunately though he couldn't save his legs due to the lapse of time before he was contacted. Reed is now a double amputee-- and under federal law he can not sue for damages.

Think it will be different for you? Forget it. Here's word that legal immunity has already been given to all the companies making the swine flu vaccine that you may be forced to take. The vaccine that is being rushed through without time for proper trials on humans. Think swine flu vaccine isn't dangerous? The outbreak in 1976 killed 301 people. 300 of them from the vaccine. One from the flu-- read it here. And ya really gotta wonder how Baxter filed a patent for swine flu vaccine-- a year ago. Read this.

So, you won't be able to sue, but don't neither will the over 12 million illegals who will be covered by the plan. Think they won't? Read this.

Obama really is a work of art. Here's a run down of his now infamous first six months quotes. Lots like it online and many gems from which to choose. Sometimes you just have to laugh-- it would be funny if it weren't the Treasury Department Bureau of the Public Debt that was soliciting for a humor coach. This might be the job for you. I know Dick Kulpa at iudexonline.com has a great chance of snagging it. Oh wait a minute, what makes me think it will be chosen on merit.

Then again, Dick might take a back seat to Derek Dye the abstinence clown. This would be hilarious if it weren't for real. The government actually paid this guy to do presentations they thought would make teens laugh-- and stop thinking about having sex. Looking at Derek, I can see that he might have a tough road getting.. oh nevermind.

We'll talk with Larry Pratt later this week. GOA is the only organization that is unwavering in its defense of the 2nd Amendment. How the NRA can decide that Sotomayor is not worth an all out fight is beyond me-- and it tells you everything you need to know about the. Read this. And join GOA. Also interesting to note that now that DC residents can own guns, crime has plummeted. That's here. But to be fair, crime all over seems to be plummeting. So much for the bogus arguments for gun control. Just think of what would happen to crime stats if we legalized drugs.

Total eclipse of the sun coming up tomorrow night. Longest eclipse of the 21st century. And a new Secret Moon. (Secret meaning it's the 2nd moon in the same sign.. and that sign is Cancer-- where the moon is most potent. And it's at 29 degrees which makes it even more powerful... and that's not all. Read what astrologers have to say about it here, here, here and here. Lots more where that came from to be had by any online search. Sleep well. Talk to you tomorrow night.

FRIDAY JULY 17, 2009 11:45 PM (PT) Trivia answers are up (click on "Trivia" to your left-- for the Bumper Stumpers click on "Music"). I'll be back before Monday to tell you what's on tap for next week.

THURSDAY JULY 16, 2009 10:30 PM (PT) Apologies to you-- and Bob Crane. I screwed up the time zone on his interview. We'll reschedule him soon-- hopefully next week. I'll keep you posted. Meantime, tomorrow is Friday and you now what that means-- 3 big hours of trivia starting at 7 (PT).

So Obama has promised repeatedly that anyone who likes their current insurance can keep it. Not exactly. Read this! The senate has released their version of the health care takeover. It's no better. You'll read here about an amendment that would require members of congress to enroll in the government run plan if one is adopted-- trust me, it will be wiped out of the combined version. Here's more on the Senate version.

The there's not a global shadow government behind ours? Here's Hillary admitting we take orders from the CFR. Well she does, anyway. More on the sexist concept that men can't be battered-- Obama is devising a new policy granting asylum to battered women.

California's not trying to ban guns-- they've got a better idea: control ammo. A bill introduced in February is coming to the floor next week. Even if you're not a Californian you'll want to weigh in-- it limits ammo purchase to 50 rounds a month-- won't let you give any away, even to family members and requires your fingerprints on file in order to purchase. Think I'm exaggerating? Then read about AB962 here and how you can contact state senators about it. Thanks to David and Lori for the heads up on it.

Netanyahu's not attacking Iran-- yet. Actually he's not talking about it at all. But a lot of folks are. Here's the latest. And the latest on Major Cooke who wouldn't deploy without knowing Obama is qualified constitutionally. The court dismissed the case as expected since his orders were revoked but another suit in Florida will be filed. Talk to you tonight!

THURSDAY JULY 16, 2009 3:00 AM (PT) We'll talk with Bob Crane tonight at 7 (PT). This man should be knighted for all the wonderful radios he's produced (from shortwave to wifi). You'll hear more about the new CC-Radio 2 ("2" meaning the two meter ham band) as well as the Geo Bulb which may be your only defense against the government forcing CFL bulbs on you. Check out the catalog at CCRadio.com.

We were talking about the Army Major who filed a suit against his orders to deploy back to the middle east citing no proof that it was a lawful order based on the natural born citizenship issue of his commander in chief-- one Barack Obama. The news yesterday was of the Army's sudden revocation of his orders. The court case in Atlanta starts today. What you wanna bet that it will be shelved as the major no longer having standing? But stop pondering that and think about this. The DOD has ordered him fired from his civilian job.

Moving on to health care-- the state plan upon which much of the democrat's health care bill is modeled-- is taking a step back. Maybe they won't cover everyone afterall. And if you happen to be disabled, nationalized health care is the last plan you want. Read it here. And just would Obama do to medicare? Read it here. Regardless of details, Obama wants it passed now. But how convoluted is it? Take a look at this Organizational Chart of the House Democrats' Health Plan.

Wonder what jobs are leaving the country, who is downsizing and how close to you are to the companies, involved geographically speaking? Here's a neat site with a tracker. Heard that Paulson pressured Bank of America into Merrill Lynch merger? Here's proof. Want to be outraged? A business jet group says you have no right to know when public companies using your tax dollars as a bailout are flying corporate jets. Read this.

OK, so you have no right to know what corporations do with their money-- how come they have every right to know what you do with yours? Read how credit card companies are tracking what you buy to see if you're in financial trouble.

So much for the North American Union, Canada is requiring visas for Mexican travelers. But maybe we're closer to global governance than you know. Russia's Medvedev is showing off the new world currency he says he was given at the G8. Here's a picture on YouTube. Here's the Bloomberg article. Meanwhile the U.K. is backing Blair for EU president. Kumbaya here. But nothing brings the globe together faster than the thought of Global Warming. Too bad more scientists aren't buying it-- details here.

Meanwhile the Sotomayor confirmation contest continues. She's winning the indoor olympics in the Question Dodge category-- 3rd day. (That's here.) But never mind Abortion. Forget her "liberal instincts" at this point don't even worry about La Raza which still isn't being raised. The issue pure and simple is her absolute disregard for the 2nd Amendment. She abhors it actually-- and she doesn't have the cajones to admit that.

As we've said, from everything we now she won't be a plus to men entrapped in family court. Read about this guy jailed for a year for non support. Never mind he didn't have a job and was homeless-- he wasn't even the kid's dad-- and the court knew it!

And now for something completely nuts-- or downright dangerous. Ireland Passes Blasphemy Law. Finally, a couple more twitter stories. Here's one about the work of hackers to their site to be published online. And here's Twitter pondering legal options. Talk to you tonight at 7 (PT).

WEDNESDAY JULY 15, 2009 12:30 AM (PT) We'll talk with Stephen Foster tonight in the first hour. He's the musician who just underwent 7 way bypass surgery-- without insurance. There's a fund set up to help him here.

He wouldn't be having problems if he were just fired from his job--- if that job had been serving as CEO of General Motors. The exit package for Rick Wagoner who was ousted from that post is now public-- he gets $10 million for leaving. No wonder Obama says some lost auto jobs aren't coming back.

Mark this day down in history-- I agree with Robert Reich. The Clinton era Treasury Secretary says there'll be no recovery. I agree with his reasoning too. Read it here. You know times are bad when bank robbers mention it during the act. Here's the story from Houston. And any doubt the the government will ease your pain can be removed as you read that the Obama Waste Prevention website is getting another 18 million.... in wasted funds.

But if you really want to be upset, I can oblige. You'll be furious when you read about the Acorn front group which will get a good chunk of the money going to health care reform-- and access to all your personal records in the process. Don't say I didn't warn you: here it is.

Speaking of Healthcare-- the democrats released their plan. Read about it here. And here. And pray that Gingrich is right about it being doomed by taxes. I don't care why it's doomed. It's rationing and control and a bad idea on all fronts (including the aformentioned Acorn involved with your medical records story). Here's Gingrich's take.

Of course I'd be for rationing if it got us out of mandatory vaccines. The WHO says they're coming. Britain has already announced the forced shots, and here you can read of subjects telling them exactly where to stick them. If you'd like to be prepared should have have to take that stance in the US, here's a list of the laws involved.

Sotomayor confirmation hearings continue-- she's been asked about her 'wise Latina' comment-- but nobody's mentioned her La Raza membership (might be too much to hope for). One thing's for sure-- this Latina Woman will not be on the side of reforming family court-- or abused men. Think there aren't any domestically abused men? Most of the programs designed to help the domestically abused do. Read about the prejudice here.

Planning to go on vacation? Be very careful before you log on to an unknown wireless network Here's the latest. Be even more careful if you're tweeting on Twitter. If what one employee said is true, Twitter has a direct pipeline (including all your personal info) to the federal government. That's here. It could be worse. You could be in China where you might be comforted to learn they've stopped it, but stunned to learn they were doing it. Doing what? Electro-shock therapy for internet addicts has now been banned.

The latest in energy news? Canada issues warnings against CFL bulbs here and T. Boone Pickens abandons plans for wind energy here. (interesting he's given up on the technology entirely on any wide scale-- read it.) Speaking of T. Boone, he may be sued for theft, if not vandalism. You'll love this.

Speaking of loving it, you've heard about the Army Major who was being re-deployed to the mid east and had filed a court action to stop it unless it could be proved that Obama was lawfully his commander in chief (it's the natural born citizenship issue)? His case is coming up Thursday in Federal Court in Atlanta. Now he's now received notice form the Army that his orders to be deployed have been revoked. Unrelated? I doubt it. What does that mean? Probably that the case will be dismissed. You can read it on this blog.

You can also read that the Keyes case against Obama will be heard on its own merits which is exciting-- though the LA Times has another take on it here. As for Orly Taitz' official blog, that's here.

Landline is urging members to call their senators about John Thune's amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act that would allow individuals who have concealed carry permits to carry a firearm in anys tate that also grants concealed carry permits. You can read about it here. It's one of 35 amendments to the bill and it needs your support. Call your senators at 202-224-3121 or look for the link on the LINKS page (button above).

Couple of passings to note-- Dr. Jerry Nielsen FitzGerald, the woman who diagnosed and treated herself for breast cancer while serving at the South Pole in 1999 has died from a recurrence of that cancer. She was 57. You'll remember her dramatic rescue. Here's the end of the story.

The other is of the death of one of Britain's most respected orchestral conductors, Sir Edward Downes who along with his terminally ill wife, died by Swiss assisted suicide. The most interesting part of this story is his wife's contention that there is no afterlife and it's just like an "offswitch". For those of us who are convinced this mortal plane is a small part of life itself, we've got to chuckle at her reaction when she finds out she's still around, just not in a corporeal state.

Politically dead is Vince Fumo. Details are here. Dead in New York politics is Hillary Clinton, according to Mayor Bloomberg here. Finally from the middle east, Israeli warships are closing in on Iran. You can draw your own conclusions on this, and we'll talk to you tonight at 7.

MONDAY JULY 13, 2009 10:30 PM PT The senate is holding confirmation hearings on Sonya Sotomayor. We've talked a lot about why she is an unfit candidate-- a danger to liberty and the constitution. Please call your senators and let them know you want them to vote NO on Sotomayor! 202-224-3121 is the Capitol Hill Switchboard. They'll connect you to your senators' offices. And click here and send an email too.

You've heard about companies that get bailout money and then spend outrageous sums on parties and the like. Well, the government can top that-- the Social Security Administration which is always declaring itself as insolvent, spent $750,000 entertaining its own employees. Read it here.

Think cursing makes you feel better when you're in great pain after stubbing a toe, hitting a thumb with a hammer and so forth? You're right according to this study which says the F-word is particularly medicinal.

One thing not to medicinal-- nurses in California. Most are good. Unfortunately those that are lethal are still on the job. It's here. Then there's government health care in Great Britain which has sent a leaflet to all high schoolers telling them of their right to an orgasm a day. You can read what else they had to say here. This is the same country that is ripping kids out of homes and putting them up for adoption. Oh wait, we do that here too. But here's a particularly egregious case.

Then there's this guy who wound up spending 14 years in jail over money he didn't have-- family court run amok here. Or this poor sop who spent 20 years in jail for molestation he didn't commit-- all part of his wife's divorce strategy here. And more on the Obama birth coverup is here. Why won't the White House confirm or deny whether the letter purportedly from Obama to Kapiolani Medical Center is real? It just gets curiouser and curiouser.

Finally if you're walking down the street texting and fall in an open manhole cover, whose fault is it? I say the city's. Doesn't matter what you're doing.. an unprotected open gaping hole with no marking whatsoever is unacceptable on all counts. That's here. Talk to you tomorrow night at 7 (PT).

SUNDAY JULY 12, 2009 10:00 PM (PT) I am having a fit. And every red blooded American citizen should share my outrage. You've heard of medical tourism-- a way to travel abroad and get surgery at a drastically reduced rate? The pros and cons are many on that, and ultimately we'll leave it to the patient to determine the risks. But what about American hospitals advertising for their own medical tourists? Before you laugh, knowing we can't possibly beat the price points in most places, and before you reason that for the wealthy who can afford it will get better quality care here, realize it's not about anything like that. It's about selling American citizenship, with a hospital in Tucson advertising to Mexicans to come have their babies here. It's not about the care they get, it's about the American citizenship their babies receive and that should strike you as all wrong. Read it here.

And it's not like Mexicans want to be Americans. Some want to take over the country. Read here how they celebrated the "Farce of July" in Los Angeles last week. No wonder the White House hasn't commented publicly on the upcoming North American Summit. You may know it better by it's former name-- the SPP-- Security and Prosperity Partnership (with America, of course, being no more secure or prosperous). But it's coming up in August and you can read about it here.

We'll be talking about the Supreme Court later on in this links lalapalooza (and apologies for not getting many of them online last week), but most astounding was the admission from Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg that she favors eugenics and social engineering. Don't think so? Then what do you make of this? But perhaps the most outrageous concept to come out of the government this week was the news that a former Monsanto VP may be named to head the FDA Safety Working Group... can you say oxymoron? More likely this will leave you speechless.

Wonder where the feds are gonna store all the data they have on you and every pseudo-terrorist? This will satisfy your curiosity. You'll learn that the NSA was building the storage facility before congress approved it but you'll also learn that there are three other facilities. San Antonio, TX and Mort Meade, MD won't raise you eyebrows... but North Yorkshire, England?! Wondering if you, yourself, are a terrorist? Just in case you're not sure if you're on "the list", here's a link to find out. I have no idea if any of this page accesses anything official, but I'm glad to know I'm not included.

Of course list or not, they'll put you through hell at the airport. Here' s a story about how Americans are getting fed up with that-- finally! But even if you're not on the official watch list or haven't ever taken a flight, check out the ways the government is watching you-- in flight. Here's an article on how they disguise bugs as... bugs. Mosquitos actually. Maybe they ought to spend more time shoring up their own facilities. This will tell you how easy it is to smuggle a bomb into a federal building.

Since keeping you safe is the goal-- Missouri, the state that brought you such terrorist definitions as militia insurgents who are 'returning military' and 'Ron Paul supporters', is having their national guard train to kill... 'militia insurgents'. Here are the uncomfortable details.

But the police would never abridge your rights, would they? First let me say that I'm a big supporter of law enforcement. The overwhelming number of men and women who put themselves on the line daily for our safety are nothing short of heroes. What worries me though is why some of them won't speak out when there's a bad seed amongst their midst. Granted union pressure, peer pressure and a host of other things get in the way, but for the few that are dishonorable, having them on the street with access to lethal weaponry can be dangerous to your health and freedom. Read about this guy here and realize not only was he trying to take away the liberty of an innocent citizen but when he wasn't called out for his behavior, three months later he took the life of another civilian. This could have been prevented if he were removed, or at least severely disciplined at the first proof of trouble.

Then there's the issue of tasers. Repeat after me: Tasers are not a toy. Tasers are not a toy. I suspect the manufacturers of these things market them as harmless. And I suspect the training officers receive for their use depicts them as non-lethal. But they're not harmless and they can kill you. This is not a story about another dead suspect. It's the tale of policemen who thought it was child's play and a DA doing the right thing. Lots needs to happen with regard to tasers and we can start by saying that they can kill and injure and should be reserved for situations where nothing short of injuring a suspect is required. There aren't that many of those-- certainly not compared to the amount of incidents where tasers have been used intentionally and not as a game.

And there's the military-- which right now is seeing a growth spurt in discontentment. Details here. Could it be due to the lack of military support for things like armored vests? That's here. Then there's individual discontent-- like Maj. Cook who will not deploy until he can verify Obama is his commander in chief. That's another eligibility lawsuit, here. (And here's the latest in eligibility.)

So the G8 is over. This may be the only time you can say it started on shaky ground-- literally. Want the complete story from the official website? (LIke you'll ever get the complete story from any official website, but what you will get is here.) Perhaps you'd prefer the Reuters Q&A about the event. Good summary here. Of course while the world is in financial meltdown, Obama is pushing for Climate Action.

Among the scariest propositions about abating climate change? Track the wealthy. I know you won't believe it so read it here. If the environment is really the issue, then why are people in Missouri who don't use enough electricity facing monthly fees. The lunacy is here (and MIssouri isn't alone). Along the same lines is a couple in Ottawa trying to conserve by building an ecological garden. Here's what's happening to them.

But Cap & Trade will solve everything, right? That's a rhetorical question when China and India won't agree to any caps. (The results of the G8/G5 summit on that is here.) So who benefits? Only big banks (check out this again should you have any doubt). Here's more on that. Now if China and India won't agree to caps, then we can sanction their imports to equalize the financial impact right? That's what the house version of Cap & Trade legislation allowed. Leave it to the senate to immediately remove it. (But even if they didn't the WTO would have struck us down-- literally and figuratively here) And it's all over junk science. Here's more scientists imploring congress not to destroy the economy with something that can't help the ecology.

Meanwhile at the G8, did you ever think you'd read about an US president shaking hands with Libyan dictator Muammar Qaddafi? You can read about it here. You can also read what the pope says about wanting a global new world economic order here. He stops short of saying the church will head it. He goes on to call for a stronger UN here. It'll get global alright-- even before the G8 started, there was a call from China for a "diversified reserve currency". Meanwhile South Korea is buying gold in the dollar's place.

Anyone for nationalism? The Swiss. And they're fighting to keep their banking records from the IRS by threatening to seize private records so they can't be turned over. Read it here. But your money is safe, backed by the FDIC, right? Did you know there is NO FDIC insurance fund. Not one dollar. It's like social security-- a phantom bookkeeping entry. Read it here.

But when we talk about what's wrong with the economy, in the final analysis, banksters pranks aside, the demographics of the matter are lethal. Read of the baby boomers economic stagnation here. It doesn't help to read that the true unemployment rate is already at 20%, or that consumers are falling behind on loans at a record pace, but is there anyone who thinks the stimulus package helped unemployment? It did, if you want more of it. Read this. Hard to believe Warren Buffett says a second round of looting, er, stimulus, is needed, but he thinks it might be. Joe Biden admits the Obama administration misread the economy. Good for him. Unfortunately he claims everyone else did too. (And if he believes that, then during his campaigning was he saying that what he claimed the republicans had done was really easy to fix? Oh never mind.)

Needless to say, the Obama mortgage plan needs work. Here's a story about people in limbo on all sides of the equation. But for those of you who are worried that Obamanomics will continue to rule-- grabbing your health care and everything else in the process-- a look at California here might slow things down a tad with any luck.

News ala carte department? Do you want to read from the IMF that the recession is ending? That's here. Would you prefer to read it's going to get worse-- as bad as the great depression? A former IMF heavy says that here. So how bad is it? Great Britain may have to bail out the Queen.

Of course US businesses may see their downfall in Swine Flu. They'll sell this to us anyway they can. Here's the latest flu story. If your health wasn't bad before you read this, you'll be nauseous when you read that in the bloated health bill is billions for parks and other tenuously connected items, not to mention the unrelated entirely.

But at least we've got some very brave states who are saying no thanks on residents behalf to mandatory federal health care. That's here. God love 'em. Speaking of sovereignty, here's the latest on that.

Glad to see the NRA is weighing in against Sotomayor's nomination, but hard to believe they're short of officially opposing her. That's here. That "not yet ready to officially oppose" Sotomayor is reason alone to join GOA-- an organization which will not waffle when it comes to your gun rights. Can't say enough bad about Sotomayor, actually. The latest is her role in advising the critics of Robert Bork's 80s nomination, here.

Then there's Eric Holder, the biggest champion of the Hate Crimes bill. Only problem is he can't site an example as to why it's needed. Read his flub here. But he sure is quick to say terrorists shouldn't be armed. Sounds logical, does it? The devil is in the details-- the way he defines terrorist, every American citizen can be included. We've talked a lot about it, but here's more.

Have you heard about government layoffs? About time, you think? Have you heard that most of them are from the Census department? Too many there already, you think? Have you heard that ACORN workers will replace them? That's here.

Then there's the NEA. I always say, if you want to see communism in action, look no further than the teachers' union. Now you can add arrogance to that list, in case it was previously missing. Here's the retiring general counsel in his own profane words. And just in case you don't think school bureaucrats are over the top insane, here's a story from Great Britain about banning parents from sports competitions. Not because the parents are rowdy, but because the administrators can't tell them apart from pedophiles.

While we're loosely on the subject of molding young minds, turns out computers can harm your kinds in ways you've never imagined-- maybe. That's here. Not so sure about that? Maybe you'd rather read about the research studying the personality traits -- of cars.

A thousand apologies for suggesting that anyone forced into social security should be able to marry anything they want in terms of bestowing benefits-- including, should they wish, a St. Bernard. Never did it occur to met that someone would marry a dog, but this woman did. Of children, she say's they'll adopt. I don't want to know about the consummation.

And finally... from the airline that suggested pay toilets, Ryanair has petitioned the British government to allow him to build planes with standing room for passengers. He's already got Boeing designing them-- here. Maybe it isn't so funny after all. And on that exhaustive note, we'll talk tomorrow night at 7 PM (PT).

TUESDAY JULY 7, 2009 7:00 PM (PT) We often talk about how bad government health care is, and will be should the bill the Obama Administration passes. We don't spend enough time on people caught up in the system as it is. If you have no health insurance, the bill you'll get will be multiplied exponentially from what providers accept from Medicaid and big insurers. It really hits home when it happens to you, or someone in your life. We've talked on the air with Stephen Foster, about his band Howler and his life in music. Maybe you've heard "Truckin' Man" which he recently did in honor of all the commercial drivers who listen.

Stephen has no health insurance due to the cost of obtaining it. Recently he wasn't feeling very good. The result was good news-bad news. The good news is that after a 7-way bypass heart surgery, he's on his way to feeling better than he has in years. The bad news is he's in no position to pay the bills. A group of friends have set up a donation page. You can access it here. The money will be used to keep Stephen's family off the street while he recovers-- physically and fiscally. You can also buy a downloads of his music here for $.99 each-- every dollar helps.

MONDAY JULY 6, 2009 7:00 PM (PT) Of course we'll talk about Sarah Palin. We'll also talk about the White House being surprised about the economy. Surprised? But before we get there, we'll talk with Del Staecker. His fiction stuff ("The Muted Mermaid" and "Shaved Ice" are spellbinding) but now he's done something even more extraordinary.

He's written "The Lady Gangster". (Cable Publishing is offering a 25% discount and free shipping.) It's the tale of his father's role in World War II, but more importantly, it's a story you don't often hear-- of the heroes on the ATs. The soldiers aboard the Attack Transfers are rarely mentioned-- but without their work the troops wouldn't be where the action is, the supplies to keep them alive wouldn't be delivered and war would be a guaranteed losing proposition.

It's easy to glorify those dying in battle-- and often rightfully so. But as much glory belongs to the troops who make that battle possible, and coincidentally often put themselves in tremendous peril. It's more than a transportation role. Hear it in minutes.

FOURTH OF JULY 2009 12:01 AM (PT) Trivia questions are up (click on the Trivia link). Bumper Stumpers are under the Music LInk. And I'll be back here before Monday to tell you what's on tap for the show. You can bet Sarah Pailin's resignation will be part of it. We'll also talk with Del Staecker-- til then, have a safe and enjoyable weekend.

FRIDAY JULY 3, 2009 12:01 AM (PT) Happy Birthday to Jerry Blavat! The Geator With The Heator celebrates at Memories in Margate tonight. End of good news. Just when you think it can't get worse, the house sticks home inspections in the cap and trade bill. Read the details from Alex Jones' Prison Planet here. One thing not mentioned in the article, is your home will have to pass the inspection in order for you to be able to sell it. You think we have real estate problems now? Just wait.

Not outrageous enough? Try this-- WFAA TV-8 in the Dallas-Ft. Worth metroplex did a report on hundreds of aircraft mechanics being brought into the United States to work at aircraft repair facilities handling Airbuses, Boeings and MD-11s. So what's the problem? Many don't speak English (even though all the repair documentation is written in it), most have no training (even though it takes years to be properly certified), and all are working for low wages. Read the details here. It's worse than I'm saying here.

Global warming has been blamed on everything under the sun including sheep flatulence. Now it's being said that global warming is responsible for.... shrinking the sheep. Read the baaad news here. It would be funny if we weren't facing cap and trade legislation over this junk science.

But the good news is Senator Inhofe says the bill is dead in the water. I'm counting on him. Here's what he had to say. Meanwhile China is hoping it's dead in the water. They're squawking about the tariffs we plan on putting on nations that don't cut emissions (like them). Here's the story. If you want to take bets, I'm willing to be the WTO would be on their side, so all the feel good, assuage the critics language about it is moot anyway.

Government health care? Read what the US is doing to its military members here. I know you've read Vaccine A by Gary Matsumoto. (Haven't you? If not it's here from Amazon at a good price), but it's still going on-- the coverups and the deadly forced vaccines. Think Obama care would be different for you?

Trivia tonight! 3 big hours starting at 7 (PT) but first a few more links... the BIS calls for financial reforms. That's like the pot calling the kettle black. Read it here.

If you think gas tax is bad, read this about what they've got in mind for you next. You've probably heard about a by-the-mile road tax, but I bet you don't know how close the government is to enacting it. You'll lose your privacy (GPS based), you're freedom (they'll tax you more in places they'd rather you not drive) and your money (it's a tax!).

You think the Obama birth issue is going away. Two exhibits to the contrary for you. Here is word of a sixth co-sponsor to a house bill that would require proof of natural born citizen status for the president. And here is a story about a judge taking the citizenship issue very seriously.

Another judge who seems to understand we have a constitution and violators of it should be prosecuted. He says go after ACORN, not a few of its low level employees. That's here.

Undoubtedly you've heard about California's financial woes, to the point that they're considering closing state parks. The Feds say they'll take some of them over should that happen. It's here. What California should do is sell the land to the highest US citizen bidder and solve all it's problems.

Finally a story about a bear. (Having long been accused of being a bear with furniture, I champion everything ursine.) Here's proof of the discriminating intelligent nature of the big beasts-- bear found in kitchen, pushing vegetables aside in fridge and chowing down on chocolate. Unfortunately he was unable to open the champagne.

THURSDAY JULY 2, 2009 3:00 PM (PT) Any illusion of a free press will be ended by this news. ABC pulled John Stossel's story on Canadian Health Care. The 20/20 co-anchor did a well researched piece "Canadian Health Care: The End of Innovation." Needless to say the interviewees were not laudatory of the government run system. ABC's problem with it? It was slated to air before Obama's health care love fest on the network and they couldn't have that. The good news is that it will be rescheduled. But I won't hold my breath waiting.

More proof that the government running health care is not in your best interest? Instead of worrying about rationing of services you might be concerned that they'll declare you dead. Over 6,000 Social Security beneficiaries were and they're alive to talk about it. Less from the actual dead who are still getting checks. Clerical errors are blamed. Need I say more? Read it here.

But I will say more. When I read this headline about the misplaced colon, I hoped it would be about grammar. Alas, it's about anatomy and what went wrong in Sweden. Worse than the medical mistake is the government clearing the physician-- and of course the patient had no rights. But maybe he was luckier than the guy who went in for a biopsy and cam out with a vasectomy-- blamed on... clerical error. The docs apparently thought they were operating on the next patient in line. That's here. I can't make this stuff up.

Further proof that the dollar is on the way down-- the IMF has introduced a replacement for Treasury Notes based on a market-basket of currencies. Here's the story. China's doing it's part too to decimate the dollar-- allowing Hong Kong to make trade settlements in Yuan . The implication of that is here.

Hard to believe I forgot to link to the story on the Supreme Court overturning Sotomayor on an obvious case of discrimination. The "White Firefighter" story is here. Harder to believe this woman is actually up for the Supreme Court. The real test in the congressional vetting process will be whether the republicans have any conviction at all.

Great research from listener Keri on the truth behind Cap & Trade. Click here. It's long but you gotta read it. Please.

If after that, you haven't read enough on Cap and Trade yet, try this. They're labeling it dementia. But after Keri's work, you know the truth. That should keep you busy for a while. More links but I'l save them for tomorrow.

WEDNESDAY JULY 1, 2009 2:00 AM (PT) Good news-- Arizona is outlawing Global Warming. OK, not exactly but they are outlawing legislation based on it. Read this and celebrate.

We've talked a bit about Sonia Sotomayor's qualifications for the Supreme Court. One of the most troubling things about her has been her willingness to include emotion and empathy in her decisions. We've been so alarmed at the concept that it never occurred to me to question whether she actually has exhibited empathy, compassion and the like. Here's a story from a wrongly jailed individual that shows her to be anything but sympathetic let alone empathic.

Obama's health care? We know how it will turn out. Massachusetts tells you all you need to know. Read about it here. Not outraged yet? You've probably heard that Obama will tax health care benefits (breaking a campaign promise not to do so) but now you'll discover that union workers will be exempt. (That's here.) Speaking of Obama's broken promises, Reason Magazine has put together a list of Obama's Top Five Health Care Lies. The Forbes story on that is here.

Back to Cap & Trade for a moment (You have contacted your senators haven't you? Info on how to do is is in yesterday's blog and on the LINKS page. Do it now if you haven't.), Section 217 of the bill provides for a 'water efficient product incentive program'. Meet the Shower Nazi here. Bills on Health Care, Climate Change... how else is America going to hell? Alex Jones has put together a fine list of what's lining the descent. Read the infowars story here.

You've heard about what's happening in Honduras. (The president was ousted in a weekend coup-- read about the rioting that followed here.) You may know that Honduras is pretty much an American puppet, so verbage to the contrary notwithstanding, you can pretty much figure we're not against the action. So what is it about President Manuel Zelaya that would cause such a lack of support? Go back six months and read about his desire to legalize drugs. (That's here.) Can't have that, now can we? Maybe Mexico better rethink its latest legislation legalizing pot, coke, meth & heroin (that's here).

Of course Mexico is right that legalization is their only hope. The US will be none too pleased, especially after the over 100 million dollars given to Mexico for narcotics fighting (not that either side could actually believe it would help). Then there's tobacco. With the increases in taxes on it, it might as well be illegal in America. Some smokers are now growing their own. Legal but not easy (The drying part is often the stumbling block.) Read about one guy who's attempting it, here.

Then, just in case you haven't seen enough coverage on Michael Jackson's exit from the planet, leave it to iudexonline.com to come up with the perfect angle. (Click on it to hear about the meeting with Elvis.)

Back to health care for moment. Every time I read about a new flu vaccine I start to feel sick. This time I laughed. It's for the dogs. Literally. (Read it here.) Not laughing over the latest wrinkle in Great Britain's socialized medicine-- doctors being restrained from prayer. (That's here.) But that's hardly the worst news from across the pond.... Did you know there are 85 sharia law courts operating in Britain? Read this.

But I'm pleased to say that the British governments march into fascism is being slowed to some extent-- the five billion pound scheme to force everyone to carry ID cards is being rethought. Big time. That's here. I'm sure we'll delight in it and several other stories tonight at 7 (PT). Talk to you then.

JUNE 2009

TUESDAY JUNE 30, 2009 1:30 AM (PT) The Senate does not reconvene until July 6th. That gives you plenty of time to write to your senators, email them and call. Do whatever it takes to let them know that you are opposed to the "Cap and Trade" legislation. Contact info in a moment...

How bad is it? Conservative estimates say that it will cost every American family an extra $10,000 a year-- not what anyone needs in this economy. (Read that here.) But worse yet, it's based on a horrible lie. At one point I believed it was simply the darling of the misinformed but indeed, it's intentional and evil. Doubt it? Then tell me why the EPA censored one of its own senior scientists who has voluminous research proving it's a crock (that's here). He's not alone either. Here's the same opinion from the former chairman of the American Meteorological Society's Committee on Weather Analysis and Forecasting.

Ron Paul implored the House to consider science and the conclusion of over 30,000 researchers (including 9,000 PhDs). (That's here.) but clearly this is not about science. It's about control, power and intimidation. (Here's one take on that.) So who voted for this thing? Here's the roll call vote for the "American Clean Energy and Security Act" HR 2454. Here's a list of turncoat republicans and surprisingly independent democrats, but if you really want to analyze what's going on, here's what you need to read. It's a most excellent analysis done by Michael Barone about the chances for the bill's passage in the senate. You'll see that the real issue may not be simply political party affiliation. Geographic location may be even more important-- and that may be the only good news here.

While representatives are population based, senators are two to a state. It's not only possible, but if enough Americans are vocal about this bill, it's actually likely that the senate will defeat it. So get to work. Call: The Capitol Hill Switchboard number is 202-224-3121. The operator will connect you to your senators' offices. You don't have to know who they are, just where you live. Write: since the senate is in recess all week, snail mail would be great. It carries the most weight. But email is good too. Do both. Here's a link to finding out the mailing (snail and e) addresses of your senators by state.

Canada is none to pleased with Mr. Obama's stance on climate change either. The bloom is clearly off the rosy future they foresaw when he won the election. Check out the Maclean's cover story here. But when you talk disastrous legislation championed by Obama, the only thing in the same league as climate change is health care. A couple things he'd probably like to deny-- one is that the entire scheme hinges on rationing. And if you doubt that, read this about his calls for cuts in existing programs like Medicare-- and that's the take from the World Socialist Web Site.

But another secret may really undo Obama's healthcare dream when the public realizes that the plan will almost assuredly cover illegal immigrants. That's here. And here's Jerry Corsi's take. We'll be talking about it tonight.

MONDAY JUNE 29, 2009 7:00 PM (PT) I'm baaaack... and already I'm having a fit. (I would have said 'and I'm Bad' but Michael Jackson, rest his soul, is getting enough coverage without me.)

Yes, the house passing "Crap and Traitor" is bad enough (and I'll have a lot to say and a lot of links after the show about it). But this is worse. The speaker of the California Assembly, about as high a state political position as anyone could possibly have, one Karen Bass, thinks conservative talk show hosts are terrorists. That in and of itself may be almost debatable in certain circles-- but it's her reasoning that has me scraping myself off the ceiling. I couldn't put it any better than she did:

"The republicans were essentially threatened and terrorized against voting for revenue (let me interject: that's a tax increase, in English terms). Now some are facing recalls. They operate under a terrorist threat: You vote for revenue and your career is over. I don't know why we allow that kind of terrorism to exist."

WHAT?! I thought that scenario defined the democracy she so adores (I'd argue that we're a republic, but never mind that-- let's go with her tenets. America is a democracy. Didn't her example clearly define what that means? Read the short version here and the full article from which it came, here.

Apologies for not getting Thursday's show up on Thursday (to those of you listening on wifi). No broadband to be had in Glacier National Park. We got every other day up right, so I started the Thursday show on Saturday and will stop it now. All the files are still available as progressive downloads. I'll leave them up for the next week on mystreamingserver.com should you care to hear them again.

FRIDAY JUNE 19, 2009 11:45 PM (PT) Trivia answers are up (click on the trivia page to your left). And we're off. Next week you'll hear the shows you've asked to hear again:

MONDAY JUNE 22nd:
Hour 1: Alex Jones
Hour 2: Al Cuppett
Hour 3: Phil Berg

TUESDAY JUNE 23rd:
Hour 1: Ron Paul
Hour 2: Howard Lyman, The Mad Cowboy
Hour 3: Mark Krikorian (Center for Immigration Studies)

WEDNESAY JUNE 24th:

Hour 3: Shawn Swords "Wages of Spin"

I will try to start the stream from the road each night around showtime but that's an iffy proposition. If you use the progressive downloads, please note that the perma-link will remain tonight's trivia show, but individual links to each download are now and will be available all week on mystreamingserver.com. That will probably be more reliable than the stream this coming week.

FRIDAY JUNE 19, 2009 12:01 AM (PT) Three big hours of trivia tonight starting at 7 PM. Do call in!

A couple links that might interest you from last night's show. We talked about the Swine Flu vaccines which are being readied for all of us. Be afraid very afraid. Time to review Gary Matsumoto's work and realize it applies to this vaccine every bit as much as it did to anthrax. Read this.

While we're scaring you, imagine a criminal trial-- without the benefit of a jury. It's happening now in Great Britian. Here's the story.

We've been discussing the firing of the Inspector General for AmeriCorps. But that's not an isolated instance. If your job is to find corruption and you do, expect to lose that job if the corruption includes any of Obama's cronies or goes against his administration's objectives or is just politically inconvenient. Two more similar oustings are detailed here.

Speaking of IGs, the Walpin firing may reveal a lot more than those who want to get rid of him would like. Read this. For those who would like to get rid of Obama-- not for his policies, but for questions surrounding his constitutional qualifications, there may be some hope. Not for the past election, but for future issues of this type (and perhaps his second term?) Rep. Posey of Florida has put forth a bill requiring verification of qualifications. Details are here. Sen. Coburn says he'll likely back it should it hit the Senate. That's here. I told you this issue wouldn't go away easily.

If you're outraged that Iran is trying to stop journalists and citizens from reporting on the current chaos, realize that the same thing happens here. Here's a story of what is happening to a reporter who dares buck the government version of some major news events.

Two more-- one about a very important anti-gun bill in California. Read the outrage here and never mind guns-- they're banning ammo. Then check out the latest in the health care fight. Perhaps the Trillion dollar cost will be blessing to those of us wanting to stop the insanity. Details are here.

THURSDAY JUNE 18, 2009 5:30 PM (PT) The situation in Iran continues to heat up. The government prohibits online posting of pictures, videos and any information, but protestors continue to get around that-- or so it seems. Much of what's online is not verified, but it's alarming to the government there how much is online. Read about Ahmadinejad's fear of the internet here and couple of reports of what's been happening here and here.

Mark this date down in history-- it may be the first time you agree with Barney Frank. I know I do. He wants to legalize marijuana, or closer to it than anyone else in Washington is willing to go. (I want to legalize all drugs, but you know that if you listen-- and you know why. If you don't, do call in and we'll talk about it.) Barney's plan is here.

Meanwhile Obama wants to bulldoze entire neighborhoods (which could probably be saved if we legalized drugs but I digress). The astonishing plan is here.

Sometimes you just have to laugh. Brooksville Florida is mandating that city workers wear underwear. You gotta wonder what precipitated this regulation, (thankfully they do explain how they plan to verify compliance-- it's got to be "observable"). The insanity is here. Oh, not just undwear.. covering of wounds is also included (don't want to think about how that became a mandated item either) Read it here.

And finally "Howler" has come up with a song about commercial drivers. "Truckin' Man" is available here. We'll play it as a bumper tonight. Stephen Foster (who is "Howler") is a good guy and fine musician. The only thing he doesn't have is health insurance and right now he needs medical care, so you might want to buy a download if you like it.

WEDNESDAY JUNE 17, 2009 11:00 PM (PT) With the site redesign, I'm a bit behind on links you might want to see. Here's proof that the Obama Birth Certificate (and all the other documents we haven't seen such as college records and such) controversy is heating up. Disturbing proof, actually, when a highly rated television newscaster exasperatedly puts those who see this issue as valid in the same camp with lunatics who shoot people in public places. Worse yet, when his guest agrees with him. (Worse but predictable-- the guest was from the Southern Poverty Law Center.) Would this rant have occurred if the issue wasn't valid?

You can discuss anything you want on Open Government Initiatives online forum-- except whether Obama is a natural born citizen. Read about it here. Speaking of openess, Mr. Transparency himself wishes to extend the Bush policy of not allowing anyone access to the White House visitor list. In case you still think there's a difference betwee republicrats and demopublicans, read this.

But if you really want to be worried, check out the firing of Gerald Walpin. He's the inspector general probing corruption in AmeriCorps. He found plenty of it with one of Obama's big supporters. When we wouldn't back down from doing his job, he was unsummarily fired. When it came out that the action wasn't quite legal, he was slandered. It's as despotic as it gets. Read this and this and this.

Speaking despotic-- post a comment online or in the newspaper, have the feds demand to know who you are. Read this.

Is it the law of unintended consequences, or is congress really trying to do this. HR 1728 would prohibit you from lending money to someone who wanted to buy your home? You have a home, someone wants to buy it and you want to carry the paper yourself for whatever reason-- maybe they can't qualify for a traditonal mortgate and they're the only buyer you've got. Maybe you want the income from financing it. Whatever, the bill making it illegal has already passed the house. It's here.

Worried about the 2nd amendment? You should be. Read what happened in Great Britian and be afraid-- very afraid. The 'shoot an intruder go to jail for life' story is here. While we're talking about gun rights, don't rest comfortably thinking the Supreme Court has already decided the issue. Read what's coming next, here.

Think the lunacy won't extend to knives? It already has in Great Britain but you probably know that. What you may not know is it's about to apply to US. Read this!

Good news-- Ron Paul's bill to audit the fed has the majority of the House signing on as co-sponsors. That's here. Of course the fed had to hire a PR agent to fight it, here. While we're talking money, Tim Geithner announces his pay 'czar' here-- shades of FDR and we know how that effort to control the economy turned out.

TUESDAY JUNE 16, 2009 7:00 PM (PT) Still working on redesigning the site but wanted to get this up for showtime. We'll be talking in minutes to Dr. Mona Lisa Schulz. With what Obama is about to do to our healthcare, you need all the help you can get and she can give it to you. Check out her site, DrMonaLisa.com. Better yet, get her book "The Intuitive Advisor" at a great price from Amazon here.

Since many of the links are not truly active yet, several of you have asked about how to listen online. And here I thought you had this all bookmarked. Click here. Save that URL!

MONDAY JUNE 15, 2009 2:30 AM (PT) Welcome to the new website. It will be a work in progress for a while, thanks to the inflexibility of Adobe. How I miss GoLive. (You might be thinking that GoLive still exists but I'm here to assure you that it doesn't-- not in its original elegant bug free state.) That went the way of OS 9. It's been downhill ever since and we finally threw in the towel last year. We've been struggling through Dreamweaver ever since.) I won't bore you with the details, or anything else about it, but please remember this explanation if pages look weird for the next few weeks.

SATURDAY JUNE 13, 2009 12:30 AM (CT) Here for Friday Night Trivia answers? Click on the Trivia link above. (Bumper Stumpers are up under the Music link.)

SATURDAY JUNE 6, 2009 12:01 AM (CT) Here for Friday Night Trivia answers? Click on the Trivia link Above. (Bumper Stumpers are up under the Music link.) Here because you want to hear the Tower of Power interview? You can catch it all weekend on the stream, or on the progressive download of the full show. But if you want to hear it and only it, go to mystreamingserver.com and access it from the list you’ll see. It’s waiting for you. We’ll be redesigning the website in the next week or two. Those who want links in one area and trivia answers on their own page will be pleased. Speaking of pleased, all the prizes have been mailed out—so watch your mailbox if you’re a winner. Have a safe weekend. Talk to you Monday night at 9 (CT).

FRIDAY JUNE 5, 2009 12:50 AM (CT) If I had to compile a list of 10 records to take with me to a desert island, two strong contenders would be by Tower Of Power. "This Time It's Real" and "You Ought To Be Havin' Fun" are waaay up there for me. But then again, there are at least half a dozen TofP records I could hear again and again. Everyone knows the Tower Of Power horn section-- highly in demand for many sessions of many well known performers, but for a while it looked like the group it self was for many folks a thing from the past. Good to see they've released a new CD (of old standards with some surprising guests singing with them). And great to note that founding member Emilio Castillo joins me tonight at 9 (CT).

Check out the group's website TowerOfPower.com and their new CD Great American Soulbook. After that it's a couple hours of trivia with prizes for you. Speaking of prizes, I kept my word. Packages are in the mail to everyone who won between February and May. Since it's "Media Mail" it could take a few weeks to reach you, but if you haven't received yours by the end of the month, let me know. One more thing-- if you're as outraged as I am about ACORN being involved in the 2010 census, and worse yet getting paid with our tax dollars for it, you might want to sign this petition.

THURSDAY JUNE 4, 2009 12:45 AM (CT) Lots of talk about the Minnesota school renaming itself after Obama. That's here. Couple of major questions-- one is how can the principal not know who Daniel Webster was?! This is an educator? Never mind the issue of how our present trumps the vital contributions from our past. Next is the new name itself. The Michelle and Barack Obama Service Learning Elementary? What kind of service are we learning here? I shudder the thought given the civilian troops Obama has created, but the gravity of that would require at least a rudimentary knowledge of the past, which seems to be a point not in evidence at the newly named institution. Next is the early details of Obama's coming health care plan. He expects to sign it by October. You think it won't include massive rationing from the git go? You better read this. He'll fund it by a $650 billion cut to medicare/medicaid... and through such measures as avoiding unnecessary tests... they're only unnecessary after you test negative. They won't be if you're trying to determine what's gravely wrong with you. Lots of things gravely wrong with this, and if the early details are doing more than hinting at rationing, what do you think the final scenario will be? I'll have more to say tonight at 9 (CT).

WEDNESDAY JUNE 3, 2009 12:45 AM (CT) Happy Birthday to Jim Loupas, audio engineer extraordinaire. From his days compiling Chickenman at WCFL Chicago where he was director of engineering in the 60s to his legendary tweaking for processing FM adult contemporary stations in the 70s, he's long been the guy to call when you want a clean, good sounding audio chain, regardless of format. I won't tell you how old he is, because that would tell on me, but suffice it to say it's a wonder we're both alive.

Speaking of wonders, it's a wonder that everyone who has been quoting the Pravda editorial which included a mention of Vladamir Putin's warning to Obama, didn't go back to the source to see what else Putin had to say. Read it here-- and weep. You'll really be crying if Sotomayor's confirmed. Among her outrageous cases on the appellate course is her siding with an extortionist. Think I'm kidding? Decided for yourself here. Many are calling Obama a socialist for taking over GM. Au contraire. By definition the move was fascist. The wiki article on fascism here is a good starting point-- you'll note that its neutrality is questioned. Follow that link to further discussion. Whatever you call it, it's an anathema to liberty. Plenty more to say but we'll save it for tonight at 9 (CT).

MONDAY JUNE 1, 2009 3:00 PM (CT) We've been talking about a global currency for some time now. The Bank of International Settlements (BIS) controls the Federal Reserve (and all such national banks worldwide), so there's no need to stop using national names-- ie dollar, euro, yen. If the control is from one place, it's accomplished without fanfare or notice. Cancel that. The Council on Foreign Relations is outing themselves as saying a national currency is not only obsolete, but dangerous in a global trading world. Read this. And note it's 2 years old! Just imagine what they're thinking now.

Now I'll dash your personal security. Read this with the full knowledge that the reason private individuals can obtain software to spy on you via your cell phone is that the government years ago perfected it, using it to this day. We'll have plenty more to discuss tonight at 9.

Want to know what I said before June 1 in 2009? It's here.
2008 is here.
2007 is here.
2006 is here.
2005 is here.
