DECEMBER 2007
SUNDAY DECEMBER 23, 2007 10P-2A (PT) I will be hosting Coast to Coast tonight. I'm not entirely sure how, as the battle between Rollye and the flu continues. I do believe I've got a handle on it, though not nearly as much of one as I had hoped. But never mind that, there are things to discuss, and I'm gonna discuss them-- with you.
We're talking about Near Death Experiences tonight-- particularly in the blind. Ask any blind person you know-- and by the way, if you can see, there's a good bet that's no one-- which is part of the problem, but I digress.... ask any blind person about the biggest obstacle they face, and I can almost bet the answer will be the perceptions of the sighted. No group has ever been more minimized. Blind people run the full gamut of intellectual abilities as do the sighted, yet they are woefully underemployed, undervalued and, frankly, even feared, by people seemingly without vision difficulties. It seems those who can see, truly don't see.
Radio is a lifeline for many blind listeners, and I consider it a privilege to be in a position to highlight this issue so that hopefully more sighted folks will start to really see, but tonight we'll go even further. The blind community is uniquely in a position to validate a major facet of NDEs. If they, particularly those blind from birth, suddenly are able to see visually during an NDE, that's meaningful on several levels (not to mention highly confusing to people have never visually processed anything). We'll talk to Vicki Noratuk about what happened to her, and then we'll spend the evening with Yolaine Stout, the president of IANDS, the International Association for Near Death Studies.
We'll also be doing something a bit different musically. All our outro bumpers tonight will feature Charlie Byrd. To back up, the listener who suggested we talk about tonight's topic is Kimberly from Kansas City. Great idea! She also wondered if I'd heard any of Charlie Byrd's music. Had to laugh at that as I think I have every album he's done, at least on Columbia. My favorites are the Brazilian themed gems, as you might expect if you know that Antonio Carlos Jobim is hands down my all time favorite composer. That may come as a shock to those you know who know I'm a firm devotee of obscure R&B, decidedly American soul-- but the soul of Samba is equally enticing though not generally as plentiful.
Charlie's Brazilian stuff is nicely done-- Tommy Newsome arranged most of it, and Teo Macero produced it, but what makes it alluring to me is the intimacy of Charlie's guitar work, and his ability bring forth his relationship with his instrument in the same powerfully subtle way that Jobim's melodies captured me many years ago. To compliment the outros, I've got a number of different intros by Brazilian composers and performers that I think you'll also like.
Sorry to say, Charlie Byrd left us far too soon, but if you like his music, note that his brother Joe, the bassist on a lot of it, is very much with us, and performing. Check out his site at www.joebyrdjazz.com! Talk to you tonight!
FRIDAY DECEMBER 21, 2007 7:00 PM (PT) A replay of Mary Ann Ghostbuster while I continue to lose my battle with the flu. She's delightful and accurate and her website is here.
THURSDAY DECEMBER 20, 2007 5:20 PM (PT) Tonight's show will be a replay of last night. You know, if you've been listening to me for any length of time about my pledge never to take time off between Thanksgiving and New Year's day, as I preside over "The Rollye James I Hate The Holidays club, weekngihts 7-10 PT. If you are in the ho-ho-humbug crowd, then you understand first hand that the worst thing about holiday scheduling is losing your favorite radio and tv shows to reruns and heaven only knows what else. So my pledge is to provide consistency through these annually trying times. And until an hour a go I was hell-bent to keep that pledge. Buy my temperature is now over 103, I can't stop hacking or shaking and I seem to fall over when I try to sit up. The first plan was to do this show from my bed (possible) but after Jon heard me try to talk he told me that getting on the air in this shape would be listener-torture. I've relunctantly agreed. If you didn't hear last night's show, this is actually a good thing, as Tom Cryer is worth hearing. If you did, my apologies and happy channel surfing. I have every expectation of being with you tomorrow night. But of course, I had every expectation of being with you tonight.
WEDNESDAY DECEMBER 19, 2007 12:30 AM (PT) Ron paul likens income tax protesters to historical luminaries from Martin Luther King to our founding fathers. Among those would have to be Tom Cryer. Tom is a lawyer, a scholar and an activist. His years of study proved to him the folly of our alleged income tax system. But before you decide not to pay taxes, there are several things you should hear-- beyond you might go to jail. Taking responsibility for everything from learning the specifics to living with the outcome of your actions is a must. Headlines say Tom defeated the IRS. Find out what he defeated, what may come, and why some win and others lose when Tom joins me tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT. And check out TruthAttack as well as LieFreeZone.
Quiz tonight-- but don't worry about having to answer aloud. The phone hybrid remains zapped. And my fever looks more like a dial position-- 102.1 but, my promise to be live every weeknight until after the new year for those of you firmly in 'The Rollye James I Hate The Holidays Club', remains unchallenged. You may not want to hear me in this shape, but I promise to be there if you do.
TUESDAY DECEMBER 18, 2007 12:01 AM (PT) All of the five voting machine types in Ohio are so easy to change, that even the secretary of state is shocked. You can pick the locks, access the memory cars an use handheld devices to create false results. You can install malignant software and you don't have to be all that computer savvy to do it. One of the makers of these machines insists that the 2008 models don't have these problems. Problem is, we won't know until it's too late. But all of this may be very good news. Why? Because the problems are so over the top, Ohio and other states are planning to scrap the machines entirely. Read about it here.
You may also want to check out a real outrage for homeschoolers. School loses your paperwork, lose your kids if they're not enrolled by morning. That's here.
And don't forget, we're coming to the end of our PajamaGram and Vermont Teddy Bear contests. Here's the deal:
To win a PajamaGram, call during the show at 888-876-5593 and tell us about your strangest holiday tradition. You could have created it, participated in it or just happened upon it . Best stories win. But if you want to guarantee a great gift for the holidays which will make it seem like you went to great lengths to get it, just go to PajamaGram.com and tell them Rollye sent you --it's more than a present, it's a presentation.
To win a Vermont Teddy Bear, just tell us who has been especially naughty or nice this year. Can be to you, or to the country or any where in between. Call us on that one too at 888-876-5593, and order them for everyone on your list at VermontTeddyBear.com and tell them Rollye sent you. It's as easy to order as flowers, costs about as much-- but where else can you get a gift with full life insurance and health insurance, and one that's made right here in America. Plus they're different-- from each other and from any other gift. I've got a whole collection!
FRIDAY DECEMBER 14, 2007 10:30 PM (PT) Fun with trivia tonight. In case you missed it, here are the answers:
General Grant claimed his most effective secret agent during the war was a woman. He chose her because of this quality. What quality? She was crazy. (Elizabeth Van Lew was rated by General Grant as his most efficient secret agent during the US Civil War. Known as "Crazy Bet", this supposedly demented daughter of a Richmond merchant passed information to Union commanders and arranged daring prison escapes for Union soldiers, hiding the fugitives in a secret room in her mansion overlooking the James River.)
Scientists estimate that they could fill a 1,000 volume encyclopedia with this, if it could be translated into English. What? The coded instructions in the DNA of a single human cell.
McDonalds' 'You Deserve A Break Today" was the most recognized television commercial jingle in 1999. What was #2? The US Army's "Be All That You Can Be". (Even so, it was announced it would soon be changed due to low recruitment numbers.)
American sculptor, Alexander Calder, rigged his front door of his apartment so that he could do what? Open the door from his bathtub. (I can't fathom why and it's not worth researching.)
Don't forget, December 16th is the anniversary of the Boston Tea Party. Time for another Tea Party, this time, for Ron Paul who is the only candidate with the spirit of our founding fathers. It's a one day donation drive, and you can find out more at TeaParty07.com. Ron's son, Dr. Rand Paul, by the way, will be speaking at the Tea Party this Sunday in Boston at Faneuil Hall. If you're in the neighborhood, please stop by. Talk to you Monday night-- hopefully with record breaking results from Sunday's drive.
THURSDAY DECEMBER 13, 2007 1:01 AM (PT) Think Hurricane Katrina destroyed New Orleans? That was likely less of a factor than the result of long standing political corruption. You've heard all the stories about Louisiana politics-- that the term "crooked politician" is redundant, but in the case of the Levee Board, their flagrant disregard for the only thing they are really charged to do, became very deadly. Of course they're is a lot of blame to go around, and we'll go round and round with Republican insider Victor Bruno tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT. My thanks to "Elwood" aka "The Flaming Liberal" for hooking me up with Bruno.... Did anybody say "hooking?!" Yes, you can be we'll be talking about Mr. Vitter too!
WEDNESDAY DECEMBER 12, 2007 12:10 AM (PT) "Where's the fence?!" Think Clara Peller in the old Wendy's "Where's The Beef" commercials when you read that. Now stop laughing. Remember the Secure Fence Act of 2006? Now forget about it. All the funding and mandates to build that fence? There about to be removed forever. You usually think of pork stuck into unrelated bills. In this case, congress is stealthily removing a provision-- the one that secures our borders. Details tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT. Or read about it here.
But the invasion of illegals is not the only thing on my mind. Preserving the 2nd Amendment is probably my greatest concern. Without it, there are no others. Our right to bear arms helps us in the big picture against a totalitarian government, and in the personal fight of defending our lives.
Lots of shootings lately, and as usual, the fastest measurement of time is not the speed of light but rather then interval between a shooting and the call for gun control. But in every instance, John Lott's definitive work stands up-- more guns, less crime. I hold my breath at the thought of what the Supreme court will rule next year when they take up the issue of D.C.'s unconstitutional ban. And I'm always pleased when one of you takes the initiative to spread the word.
One such person is Pennsylvania small businessman Michael Ruoss. He has Country Craft and Flea Market in Avondale, does auto repair and manages to find time to fight for your gun rights. With no web experience, he's put up a site that you might want to investigate: www.parighttobeararms.com. Check out the story on the legislators who walked out of the house when they couldn't force gun control. They're not done trying-- neither is Gov. Rendell. Michael's trying to spread the word. Are you?
TUESDAY DECEMBER 11, 2007 2:00 AM (PT) Don't think immigration is a problem? in 1970 one out of 21 Americans was an immigrant. In 1980 it was one out of 16 from another country. In 1990 1 out of 13 was foreign born. Now? Well, using the most conservative estimates that grossly undercount illegals, we're at more than 1 out of 8. That's for all of America, Not just big cities, or southern states. All of the country-- New York City? Make it 1 out of 4. And we expect America as we know it to exist in the future? Fairy Tales tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT.
MONDAY DECEMBER 10, 2007 3:31 AM (PT) Every time the government says "It's for the children!" you know you're about to have something shoved down your throat you won't like. The latest is a bill that passed the house almost unanimously-- only Ron Paul and one other rep voted against it. Now it's in the senate sponsored by McCain and co-sponsored by Hillary and a few others. If it passes, forget all that free wifi access you've enjoyed. And as for your ISP, they'll be snooping and reporting, or else.. I Wait until you hear these details tonight at 10 ET/ 7 PT. The bill passed by the house is H.R. 3791, the companion version in the senate now is S.519. It's called the SAFE Act-- Securing Adolescents From Exploitation online act. And among other things, it requires service providers to log and monitor activity, forwarding suspicious results to the government. In other words, your ISP will become big brother or else. Oh, and those free wifi hot spots? Not worth the trouble, are they?
SUNDAY DECEMBER 9, 2007 10P-2A (PT) I'll be hosting Robert Gover, who is a fascinating character with life experience going back to the Beat generation of the '50s. He's an author of great acclaim (and many great authors have acclaimed that fact), but we'll home in on his astrological work. You gotta check out his book, "Time And Money" (for a great price click here). And even if you've never given astrology a thought, you'll want to hear what Robert has to say on the show about a variety of economic cycles, from the formation of the Federal Reserve to the current housing downturn. Check out his website here.
FRIDAY DECEMBER 7, 2007 11:10 PM (PT) It was great talking to Tommy James earlier tonight. Drop by his website at www.tommyjames.com! If you heard Thursday's show, you know we talked with Sofie. She's a Ron Paul supporter in Florida who was threatened for bringing out the truth of a straw poll which included such problems as voting machines that registered Ron Paul votes for Mitt Romney and multiple voting by Romney's supporters. See the video here. And regardless of which candidate you support, if the accuracy of the electronic voting machines concerns you at all (and it should) click here and get involved. Thanks!
So you're here because you want to know the trivia results from earlier tonight:
Drinking this was considered a must at fashionable social events in the 17th century. Drinking what? Chocolate-- with milk, wine or beer!
In Sweden, when leaving someone's home it is bad manner to do this. Do what? Put your coat on before you get to the doorway to step outside. (Funny YouTube video on that too. Click here.)
In 1978, the first shipment of Coca Cola went to China. But they didn't call it Coca Cola. They used something that translates into what? (Not 'bite the wet tadpole'-- that was an error that happened later.): "Tastes Good, Tastes Happy".
In a 1991 Esquire article, a former child actor said this: "Most child actors were lucky enough to get the part in the first place. They cry and complaina that now that they are no longer little and cute, Hollywood has no use for them. What we often fail to appreciate is that being little and cute may have been our only skill. Who said it? Danny Bonadeuce of The Partridge Family who went on to say: "Now that we are not so little anymore, and certainly not as cute, some of us may have to face reality, stop whining and get real jobs."
Before the Chinese takeover of Tibet in 1952, 25 percent of all men there had this in common. What? They were monks.
This edible was created in 1916 by a Los Angeles noodlemaker. What? George Jung created the Fortune Cookie.
In 1935, this established product was advertised for the first time as being splinter free. What product? Toilet Paper.
We're still working on the General Grant question so tune in next Friday night to find out about that!
THURSDAY DECEMBER 6, 2007 2:10 AM (PT) Let's say your an immigration officer and you're pretty disgusted that most of the illegals you've helped convict of hard crimes wind up with plea deals that are a slap on the wrist. Let's say the guy offering those pleas decides to run for governor-- on his tough stance on immigration. You'd probably speak out, right? You'd probably provide details to back up your story too. And when you did you'd be on leave without pay, facing jail time and bankruptcy. So political retaliation isn't real? The candidate won-- find out how the whistle-blower lost tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT.
We're telling the story of Cory Voorhis in Denver. Please check it out at www.corylegaldefense.com. Thanks. Oh and while you're checking' Daniel Essek is also displeased with a politician's stance on illegal immigration and a lot more, and so this commercial driver is doing something about it. He's running against Mitch McConnell in the Republican senatorial primary in Kentucky. Check out his website www.essek4senate.org.
WEDNESDAY DECEMBER 5, 2007 12:01 AM (PT) You've heard how Great Britain's socialized medicine is failing. How thousands have died in hospitals due to unsanitary conditions and overworked staff. So what are they doing? Training nurses. Not to combat the problems, those are swept aside. They're trained, at taxpayer expense to become familiar with the Islamic faith, and are required to stop all medical work five times a day to turn the beds of Muslim patients towards Mecca. When political correctness kills, tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT. Read about it here.
TUESDAY DECEMBER 4, 2007 12:01 AM (PT) Imagine heading a group that was named as an unindicted co-conspirator in a federal terror case. What would you do? Maybe you'd clean house. You'd find out who was in your organization and should a terror connection exist, you'd remove them and publicly denounce them. That's not what this group has done. Their first line of defense? Lobby congress to be removed. Nevermind they're a non-profit with directors including a convicted terrorist, and many with ties to know terror groups. And they might be successful! Details tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT. Read about it here.
MONDAY DECEMBER 3, 2007 10:50 PM (PT) Hope you got to hear Jerry Corsi tonight. If not, it will replay as a stream until tomorrow's show (see info above for how to access that). But if you'd like to download it, here it from the beginning or don't get around to it tomorrow, go to www.mystreamingserver.com for a progressive download. I'll leave it up a while.
MONDAY DECEMBER 3, 2007 7:00 PM (PT) We're going to spend the evening talking to Dr. Jerome Corsi. If you don't have his book, you should. Here's a link to a good deal on it.
SUNDAY DECEMBER 2, 2007 12:10 AM (PT) To hear many politicians, the North American Union is some kooky conspiracy theory, easily dismissed. To hear the White House, all the plans are to increase our strength and sovereignty. Of course you don't near much from the White House which has been hiding the salient facts, nor do you hear from congress who shockingly in some cases don't know them. So how do we know what's going on? People like Jerome Corsi research it. If you think you know all about the NAU, you better hear the latest Monday night at 10 ET / 7 PT as Jerry joins me for the whole show. If you have any specific questions, now's the time to get them to me. (Email link is to your left. Click on "I Wanna Tell Her..")
NOVEMBER 2007
FRIDAY NOVEMBER 30, 2007 10:30 PM (PT) Trivia was a nice break from the usual political doldrums. Of course we'll be back on it Monday, but for now if you're here to see the answers:
This common ingredient was once a common snack food in early America. What? Bouillon Cubes (Primarily beef stock. Since the cakes didn't spoil, the were carried by trappers and hunter who nibbled on them throughout the 1700s.)
In 1979, the government allowed Pan Am to buy National Airlines but refused to allow the merger of these two carriers. Which ones? Continental and Western.
In 1979 Republic Airlines was formed out of what two carriers? North Central Airlines and Southern Airways.
In 17th and 18th century Europe, dogs were used to smuggle this. What? Lace. Europe was wild for it. Laces were seen as "better" if it came from Belgium or Venice. But to avoid tariffs in countries joined by land, a dog was wrapped in lace and then covered in fake fur. It would be released at the border, free to run to the other side undetected where it would be scooped up by the recipient. The only problem came when hounds with a mind of their own would run off.
The Emergency Housing Act of 1975 gave home buyers a tax credit. What else did it do to benefit the housing industry? $10 billion was provided to underwrite high interest rates so lenders could charge 7.5% and the government would pick up the difference between that and the prevailing rate.
Cinderella's slipper was not made of glass. A translation error led to the mistake. What was it made of? Fur. ("Verre" means glass, and "Vaire" in old French means fur. More comfortable anyway.) 1978 saw the vegetable wars.
Florida growers were outraged but lost. What was the issue? Mexico was dumping $200 million dollars of vegetables at below cost on the American market. A court found for Mexico but not before it agreed to sell the US natural gas at an artificially low price.
The Aztec Indians of Mexico believed this would protect them from physical harm. What? Turquoise.
This affects 1 in 11 people world wide, more women than men. What? Phobias. According to the Anxiety Disorders Association.
That leaves us with one open question, and if you listen next Friday you'll find out which one.
Now that our stream is accessible by virtually everyone, we're no longer putting up email questions. If you have a computer, you can hear the show. So please listen live to participate. If you'd just like to hear the show, remember it replays until the next live broadcast-- which means trivia is online all weekend long. Thanks.
THURSDAY NOVEMBER 29, 2007 2:00 AM (PT) Everyone likes discounts. But how far would you go to save 10% on air travel? We're talking about a discount not available to the general public. And it's only a few clicks away online. There's just one catch. You'll have to proclaim you're gay-- which is fine if you are, but are you willing to be in a database of gay and lesbian flyers when you're not? That's the real question because you don't have to prove it. You just have to be willing to sign up on an airline web page targeting gay and lesbian travelers. Discrimination or demographics? Details tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT. Read about it here.
WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 28, 2007 2:20 AM (PT) Congress is considering the Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act. Never mind how it sounds, what it does is track anyone who disagrees with the government. Don't think so?-- then look at the section which says it shall not be used disproportionately against any ethnicity. When you think of terrorism, doesn't one ethnicity come to mind? That's not the one they're concerned with. Oh they're also concerned not with what dissenters do-- what they think is good enough. Details tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT. Read the bill here. Note the definitions, the internet concerns, the reliance on foreign government methodologies, and the section providing that it can not have a disproportionate impact on any one group, for openers. And then if you consider yourself a patriot, start to worry.
TUESDAY NOVEMBER 27, 2007 12:15 AM (PT) You've probably long thought that colleges are giant halls of indoctrination, and with many courses, you'd be right. But the latest indoctrination play is occurring out side the classroom in the schools that require students to carry cell phones at all times. It's not so they can easily be reached, it's so they can easily be tracked. The schools boast of their ability to use the GPS feature to track students everywhere. Here's the worst part-- rather then being outraged, many students say it's a comfort. Big brother tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT. Read about it here.
MONDAY NOVEMBER 26, 2007 3:15 AM (PT) Former Republican house leader Tom DeLay says Hillary will be the next president because the Republicans don't have a candidate who can beat her. Apparently he isn't reading the fine print of the latest Zogby poll. It's not their headline, but it's there nonetheless. Ron Paul can beat Hillary. Of course there's plenty of reason to believe the Republican leadership would rather have Hillary than Ron Paul. More evidence they're republicrats and demopublicans tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT. See DeLay's comments here. And see Zogby's take here.
SUNDAY NOVEMBER 24, 2007 1:30 AM (PT) It's the 4th Sunday of the month so you'll find me hosting Coast to Coast again tonight. (I handle the 2nd and 4th Sundays, in addition to my weeknight show.) It should be a good time as I've already got dozens of questions for my guest Barbara Lamb. Barbara is a marriage and family counselor who specializes in regression through hypnosis. And wouldn't you just know it? Back in 1991, someone remembered being abducted. By strangers from far away. Really far away. Since then Barbara has regressed over 1800 people who have recalled experiences with ETs. She's got a book coming out, "Alien Experiences", which you can read about here. Her previous book, "Crop Circles Revisited" is available by emailing her here. And while you're at it, here's a website about that, and another one about her professional practice here. That ought to keep you busy until 10 PM (PT) tonight when we next speak, so to speak. (My Coast to Coast appearances are not streamed (by me). I leave that to them and their handy streamlink membership. Check out their website here.
But maybe you're here because you want answers of another kind-- like the ones we revealed on Friday night trivia. Here you go:
Victorian publications never dared show this in any advertisement. What? Beds! When illustrations of a bedroom were required, the bed itself was hidden by curtains.
Which country has the highest per capita consumption of cereal in the world? Ireland.
In some tribes in Ethiopia, when a male dies his grave is marked with a number of stones. What does each depict? Every man the deceased killed.
29% of all food consumed in the US is what? Dairy.
By mid 1979, 11 states had legalized this. What? Marijuana, restricted to certain usage such as pain relief in cancer or glaucoma.
In the beginning, hippies were mostly middle-class adolescents or college drop outs who had withdrawn into their big city caves as a protest against their parents' worship of money and material possessions. But their proclivities for the bizarre brought them fame. But like the Beats of the previous generation, they fell pray to the pressures of blank. Fill in the blank. "commercialization". Hippie bands now traveled first c lass. Owners of hippie dance halls became wealthy. Some stayed hip only on weekends. There was as much talk about money on Haight Street as Wall Street.
In 1975 President Ford signed a bill intended to bail out an industry in trouble. What industry? The housing industry. The bill gave home purchasers a 5% tax credit of the home's price up to $2,000. It did something else too-- and if you want to see that question, click on "She Said What" to your left.
And don't forget, "The Rollye James I Hate The Holidays Club" is in full swing. If you're saying Ho Ho Hum (or worse) when everyone else can't fathom why you're not in the "spirit of the season", we've got a safe haven for you. And as one of the things that makes the holidays horrible for many is the disruption in their otherwise predictable entertainment sources, I pledge to be with you every weeknight non stop until January 2nd when it will be safe to come out again. (And probably after that too-- but the point is, if a holiday falls on a weekday, I'll be on the air live. Join me when the family, or lack of it, drives you crazy.)
THANKSGIVING 2007 11:00 PM (PT) Missing tonight's show may have been something for which to give thanks-- unless you really anted to hear the World's Worst Hit Records of 2007. Should that be the case and should you have been unavoidably away from the radio, here's the tally:
1 Tiptoe Thru The Tulips – Tiny Tim 1968 #17
2 Achy Breaky Heart – Billy Ray Cyrus 1992 #1
3 MacArthur Park – Richard Harris 1968 #2
4 Lovin’ You – Minnie Riperton 1975 #1
5 Hey Jude - Beatles 1968 #1
6 Brand New Key – Melanie 1971 #1
7 You Light Up My Life - Debby Boone 1977 #10
8 Honey – Bobby Goldsboro 1968 #1
9 Don’t Worry Be Happy – Bobby McFerrin 1988 #1
10 Muscrat Love – Captain & Tennille 1976 #4
Runners Up:
My Ding A Ling - Chuck Berry 1972 #1
Yummy Yummy Yummy - Ohio Express 1968 #4
Purple People Eater - Sheb Wooley 1958 #1
Rico Suave - Gerardo (Mejia) 1991 #7
Macarena - Los Del Rio 1995 #1
Swingin' - John Anderson 1983 #1
Votes spanned the 1920s through this decade. Earliest was 1927 Ernest Hare & Billy Jones (The Happiness Boys) with "I've Never Seen A Straight Banana" and latest was 2004 Prince with "Call My Name". We were devoid of disco-- and with one exception a vote for Please Don't Stand There- Patty Duke, devoid of child stars.
I originally thought that with two exceptions of several votes for "I Want My Baby Back" and "Last Kiss" we were also devoid of death, but then I realized that "Honey" was not only deadly to hear, but squarely in the demise category. I guess because she wasn't felled by a car crash or other graphic fate, I forgot about it.
Even the expected whines of women-- "I Am Woman" and the opposite perspective "Let It Please Be Him" were not in much evidence-- a few votes for Helen Reddy, no votes for Vicki Carr and only a couple for the advice of Charlene in "I've Never Been To Me" (#3 in 1982).
My personal sorrow is that Shipwrecks didn't rate higher-- from Celine Dioin's tome to the Titanic ("My Heart Will Go On" #1 for 2 weeks in 1998) to Maureen McGovern's tale of the Poseidon ("There's Got To Be A Morning After" #1 for 2 weeks in 1973) to "The Wreck Of The Edmund Fitzgerald" (#2 in 1976) water and music do not mix-- and nary a word for the one record straddling both death and oceans: Jody Reynold's "Endless Sleep" (#5 in 1958) or even Tiny Bubbles (Don Ho which fortunately only reached #56 in '66 but has disasterous memories for many).
Do Ho brings up the category of vocal stage entertainers who should have never committed to vinyl, the king of which did get a few votes: Wayne Newton's Danke Schoen (#13 in 1963). We were also spared from cute this year, though everything from "Rubber Duckie" (Jim Henson as "Ernie" #16 1970) to "Gimme Dat Ding" (Pipkins #9 also in 1970) accrued several mentions.
How was this year's list different from previous years? Two of the records on the 2006 list were different, four differ from 2005 and 2004, two differ from 2003... looking back a decade ago to 1997 there were only three commonalities. Kinda fun to see the results from 10 years ago, so here you go:
A decade ago WWHR 1997 (only 3 commonalities to '07)
1 Brian Hyland - Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie... 1960
2 David Seville - Witch Doctor 1958
3 Captain & Tenille - Muscrat Love 1976
4 Minnie Riperton - Lovin You' 1975
5 Bobby Goldsboro - Honey 1968
6 Bo Donaldson - Billly Don't Be A Hero 1974
7 Starland Vocal Band - Afternoon Delight 1976
8 Peggy Lee - Is That All There Is 1969
9 Ohio Express - Yummy Yummy Yummy 1968
10 Lonnie Donegan - Does Your Chewing Gum
Trivia Friday at 10 ET / 7 PT. Talk to you then-- but beware, I'll be armed with Christmas bumpers.. just when you thought it was safe to listen again.
THANKSGIVING NOVEMBER 22, 2007 12:21 AM (CT) Happy Thanksgiving. And what does Thanksgiving bring to mind? I mean besides dreadful relatives? Turkeys! The results of our annual poll of the Worlds' Worst Hit Records. I'll be on live counting them down. Find out what's new this year. It's different from all the past lists. Apparently bad memories do die. But there's never a dearth of candidates. Like Achy Breaky Heart. But worry not-- we won't play them all the way through and we may play a few you'll like-- tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT. I've already had requests to print the list here. And right after the show I will. Between now and showtime I'll be compiling it. Votes are officially closed. But there's always next year.
WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 21, 2007 7:00 PM (PT) More stories about police raiding the wrong homes and the damages, chaos and death that ensues. I'll sharea few with you tonight but if you're thinking this isn't a regular occurrence, take a look at this!
And while I'm giving you links, should you have any doubt about which candidate you philosophically resemble, take this quiz. You won't be shocked to hear Ron Paul and I are in virtual agreement. (I say virtual because some questions are worded in such a way that your actual response will not be available-- but even so, it's quite predictive. Try it out.
WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 21, 2007 1:00 AM (PT) If you're a Muslim terrorist and your mission is to come to America and spy on the very agencies involved with keeping terrorism at bay, what would you do? Don't think too hard. All you'd do was walk in to the FBI and ask for a job. They'll give you one complete with security clearance without a thorough background check. Speak Arabic, that's enough. Their track record of inadvertently hiring the enemy is staggering. But be an Arabic speaking Jew-- no room for you, you're biased. Homeland insecurity tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT. Read about it here. And remember, tonight's show (or here via email) is your last opportunity to vote on the 2007 poll of the World's Worst Hit Records. A live show playing back those Turkeys is coming up on Thanksgiving.
TUESDAY NOVEMBER 20, 2007 12:10 AM (PT) Rudy Guiliani can't be president. Michael Bloomberg, on the other hand may be the candidate. Who said that? A mole within the Bilderbergs who is speaking out on what is going on. Wonder how this secret group is able to control us? For one thing, they have to remain out of the light of scrutiny. That they do. Then it's as simple as letting us believe we are free while they're manipulating everything that matters. How they do it, what we can do about it, and what are the chances we will, tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT. Read about it here.
MONDAY NOVEMBER 19, 2007 12:10 AM (PT) Ever wonder what happened to 'innocent until proven guilty'? The rock of our justice system has been chipped away to the size of a pebble. The latest horror has to do with databases. Like what happens when your address is listed online, and on the record as being the home of a sexual predator-- one that hasn't lived at that address for years. You'd think you just call and correct it, right? Wait until you hear the responses-- and the requests, of a citizen with not even a traffic ticket on his record. Details tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT. Or read about it here. I've got plenty of other outrages for you too, and I bet you have plenty of suggestions for the World's Worst Hit Records. Poll closes Wednesday night, so call in and vote.
SUNDAY NOVEMBER 17, 2007 2:00 AM (PT) Many of you have asked I list the answers to the Friday Night Trivia Questions. Here you are:
Results of a survey show that 76% of women do this every day. What? Make their bed. 45% of men claim they do too. (I think we've got a lot of liars of both sexes :)
Scientists say that people who do this are more organized and efficient than everybody else. Do what? Sleep less than six hours a night. (Only if most of 'em were too tired to answer this question.)
The first all digital landline telephone system was installed in 1982. Where? Denmark.
In the 5th Century BC, it was illegal to export this out of Greece. What? Figs. Solon, the ruler of Attica from 639 to 559 BC made it illegal to export because there was a concern that there wouldn't be enough of these then world famous figs for the citizenry.
According to Greek historian Herodotus Egyptian men never did this. Did what? became bald. According to H. the reason was that as children Egyptian males had their heads shaved and their scalps were continually exposed to the health giving rays of the sun. (Yeah, right. Tell that to a dermatologist.)
And we have one question we're holding over to next Friday, so if you're eligible to play by email, check it out. I've listed it under "She Said What" to your left. I'll be back later tonight to tell you what's on tap for Monday but remember, the voting on the World's Worst Hit Records continues through Wednesday night. Any genre, any decade, as long as it's a hit and you hate it, vote. We'll be playing back your Top Ten on Thanksgiving-- and yes it will be a live show.
THURSDAY NOVEMBER 15, 2007 1:00 AM (PT) When police in England lobbied for a DNA database including everyone born in the UK, many people bristled. At least it hasn't gotten to that point here in America yet. Oh really? Find out about Minnesota which takes the DNA of every newborn without parental permission and then stores it for whatever use they'll envision. They downplay it. And defend it. Not worried because you're not in Minnesota? Think it won't be where you are soon if you don't protest now? Details tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT. Read about it here.
WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 14, 2007 12:20 AM (MT) Under the guise of the census, the government can ask you deeply personal questions. And if you refuse to answer them, they can fine you or send you to jail. In answer to outraged citizens, they say they don't actually prosecute-- but they can. Find out what happened to the census-- it's nothing like the constitution required. It doesn't even happen every 10 years anymore. And find out what you can do about it. Then hear about even more government intrusion into parents rights tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT. Read the census story here, and another horrible example of the right's parents don't have, here. I don't have an update on that after the October article, but maybe you do.
The stream continues to work nicely by the way-- some glitches at my end going from the live stream to the replayed loop-- but I'll smooth that out. Should be no problem for you. If it is, just restart it. Audio should be there 24-7 now. Thanks!
TUESDAY NOVEMBER 13, 2007 4:00 AM (PT) Describe an attacker as a Hispanic male and you'll be hit with charges of racism. It happened in Phoenix where a broadcaster objected saying 'it's not a race'. Tell that to La Raza. The preferred description? Dark skinned. Tell that to the 9-11 memorial commission that depicted statues of a hispanic, black and white firefighters, all three in the same shade of bronze. Hispanic not a racial category? Guess we better take it out of EEO concerns. Having it both ways tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT. And read about it here.
We talked about the latest horror in the 'it's for the children!' drama of child support which supports no one but the government last night. (If you missed it,the poor guy lost his reputation and career when in reality he didn't owe any back support.) The sad truth is we could do several stories nightly and not repeat them. I mentioned calling your senators and representatives to tell them to vote NO on HR 1386 (in the house) and S 803 in the senate. Much of the federal funds earmarked for enforcement of this insanity expired last month and there's a big push to refund this atrocity. Please call your representatives and senators and implore them to vote NO on these bills. It's an unpopular position for many to take, so the only way they'll do it is to hear from YOU.
The Capitol Hill switchboard is 202-224-3121. Find your senators here and your representatives here(enter your zip code in the blank on the upper left of the page). And tell them you'd like to see a senate investigation into the hijacking of the American public in the name of federal child support. Want to know more? Go to www.nfja.org. Thanks. (Oh, also stay on the senate about defeating the Law Of The Sea treaty-- it's an atrocious UN agreement that will surely drown our sovereignty and it can come up for vote at any time before Winter recess.)
MONDAY NOVEMBER 12, 2007 5:30 PM (PT) The new stream is working!! You should be able to access it from your favorite .mp3 player (unless your favorite player is Windows Media which doesn't work-- and I don't care. Real Player works fine, QuickTime is perfect, likewise for iTunes and others). You should be fine. Click here and enoy it-- if we're live on the air at the time! Want more detailed info? Click here
MONDAY NOVEMBER 12, 2007 2:20 AM (PT) HAPPY VETERANS DAY and a big thank you to every one who has put their life on the line for our freedom. Too bad we lost it without a shot. Take this story for instance.... What's the definition of privacy? In the real world, you won't get too far before the concept of anonymity comes in when defining your privacy in relationship to others. Your right to spend cash rather than have your purchases tracked via credit, for instance. But when it comes to the government masters of redefinition, privacy is not anonymity at all, rather the government's pledge to handle your most personal information with care. Find out why it's redefined and be prepared to be alarmed tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT. Or read about it here now.
SUNDAY NOVEMBER 11, 2007 1-5 AM (ET) Hosting Coast to Coast again tonight and it should be interesting.. especially at that moment on the West Coast where I'll be on at 11:11 on 11/11. We'll talk briefly about what that means, and then we'll center on something related-- the UFO phenomenon.
If you want to have a good laugh, you've got to check out the video done to Eddie Cletro's "Flying Saucer Boogie". From what I can tell, the guy who uploaded it did know much about it. As for the images, I'm equally clueless. But as for the song-- it's a classic: a 1952 flip side that is still a collector's item. Eddie (still alive at 89) was quite the local LA radio and television sensation in the 40s and 50s. Hailing from New Jersey, he spun a yarn that he was from Oklahoma, more fitting for his new country image that included a name change (from O'Clethero to Cletro) and even a stint with Spade Cooley (before the big scandal).
By all accounts he is a truly nice guy, and sadly he's proved that nice guys finish last-- at least when it comes to chart records, of which he had none nationally. But his local reputation remained for many years after he left the business and last year some of his classic stuff came out on CD. But nothing beats seeing it with this video right here.
Dr. Joe Buchman will join me in the first hour of Coast tonight to report on the just concluded 5th Annual UFO Crash Retrieval Conference in Las Vegas. Joe's had his own run ins with UFOs and I'll leave it to you to determine whether that prepared him for his current role as a Life Coach. After years as a researcher, author and tenured professor, he turned his teaching talents to seminars and one on one sessions guiding people to better navigate their lives. If you're interestesd, you can go to DreamMakersAcademy.com and drop them an email with Joe Buchman in the subject line which they'll forward to him.
After that, we'll spend the rest of the show with Victoria Liljenquist. I won't begin to tell her story here. You'll hear it on the air, or read it for yourself on her website, victoriaslight.com. And I'll be back here before morning to let you know what's on tap for tomorrow night on my show. With any luck we may have the new stream operating by show time. (It's operating now, but operating with a universal link. I'll keep you posted.)
FRIDAY NOVEMBER 9, 2007 6:40 PM (PT) Playing around with another stream tonight (along with the one you usually access from me, if you access any at all from me.) One or both could be inaccessible from time to time, but I can fix that if you have iTunes. You'll even get a higher quality stream. Go to mystreamingserver.com and follow the instructions in green. Ultimately I will have a universal URL that anyone with an .mp3 player can access easily, but for now we may hit a few potholes along the dirt road known as the information superhighway. And if you're a technophobe completely or don't have a computer or have no patience (don't blame you), then nevermind. Talk to you in about 30 minutes on the good ole' radio.
FRIDAY NOVEMBER 9, 2007 4:00 AM (PT) We'll play trivia tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT. So many requests to hear last night's show with Walter Burien, that I got it up online. It's an on-demand download and you can access it at mystreamingserver.com right now.
Walter has spent the last 17 years bringing you vital insight into the actual financial condition of the country, and his actual financial condition has suffered tremendously for his efforts. Go to hs website, CAFR1.com and if you can, donate to it. If everyone kicked in a buck, he'd be in a much better position to continue the fight. Thanks!
THURSDAY NOVEMBER 8, 2007 2:30 AM (PT) What would happen if there was no income tax-- and no other tax to replace it? How many programs would be cut? Consider all government-- federal, state and local-- with zero income tax dollars. If you think it would be pretty dire, hold on to your seat-- the government doesn't need one dollar of your taxes to fund everything they do. Impossible you say? Wait until you hear about the balance sheets you're not seeing, tonight at 10 ET / 7PT. They're called the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) and when you hear Walter Burien talk about them tonight, you're gonna feel duped.. and you should. Want to read about it first? Here's a link to Walter's site, CAFR1.
Yes, I want you to stay on the Senate about the Law Of The Sea Treaty (see the entry from last Thursday below) but I've got another request-- and it's one that will benefit the freedom and liberty of every citizen. You've heard me talk about the insanity of our Child Support Enforcement system. It's broken on so many levels. We discuss much of it on the air. The bottom line is it's NOT for "the children". It's a bloated bureaucracy which has ensnared a huge percentage of Americans, primarily men who are non-custodial parents, but it reaches much further than that. The mistakes are legendary, and the actions outrageous. And the fact that the federal government is in this at all is a disgrace to the constitution.
The good news is that a healthy portion of funding for this morass dried up last month. However those seeking to extract every dollar possible from citizens are moaning and crying how single mothers (notice that custodial parents are rarely considered to be fathers)-- and their children may be forced to be on welfare if it is not for the federal dollars funding this government extortion. There are two bills now circulating-- one in the house -- HR 1386 and one in the senate-- S 803.
And when you're calling, also ask for senate oversight hearings on the sorry state of Child support which is walking all over the constitution and putting millions of citizens in peril in the name of the Children who benefit least from these gestapo-like regulations. If this is not important to you now, there's a good chance it will be personal in your life time-- draining you or someone you love. It will never stop unless millions of Americans band together and demand it stop.
Why should a non-custodial parent be forced by law to pay for what an intact family parent can legally choose not to pay? I could go on, but I'm praying that with enough outcry, this convoluted system won't. At the very least we've got to get the feds completely out of this issue. And the idea that social security numbers through driver's licenses are used to track down non-custodial parents is a greater outrage when several states offer driver's licenses without social security numbers needed-- if you're an illegal alien. Get involved on this one please.
WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 7, 2007 12:30 AM (PT) Let me get this straight. The Mexican truck pilot program which allows Mexican trucking companies access to lucrative freight routes in America includes the provision that American taxpayers will fund the upgrade of their trucks? Yup. While our owner-operators bear the cost of installing Qualcomm computerized tracking systems on their own, our government installs the expensive systems in the Mexican trucks-- with money congress is forbidding them to spend. One sided nonsense tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT. Read it here-- and weep.
And speaking of global inequities, don't forget to call your senators to implore them to vote no on the UN Law Of The Sea treaty. 202-224-3121 or senate.gov to send an email. I'll stay on you to stay on them. Thanks!
TUESDAY NOVEMBER 6, 2007 3:31 AM (PT) First cell phones became the rage, then phone accessories. But now the biggest growth accessory is a device that fits in the palm of your hand and blocks people nearby from getting a signal. If you've been bothered by noisy impolite talkers, you might smile benevolently. But think about needing a phone in a real emergency, not to mention the extortion possibilities for someone with a landline nearby. Blockers continue to be illegal, but now there's a push to change that. Why you should care, tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT.
MONDAY NOVEMBER 5, 2007 12:45 AM (PT) What US zip code has the highest wage earners? While many people spout off Beverly Hills 90210, or Brentwood 90049, or some posh area of Manahttan, even the Hamptons out on Long Island or Grosse Pointe near Detroit, the truth after 9-11 has nothing to do with reality, because now the highest wage earning enclaves are the product of high paying government jobs created in reaction to terrorism. Find out how billions of your tax dollars are being spent tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT. Or read about it here. And please read Thursday's entry below. We've got to stay on the Senate to defeat the Law Of The Sea treaty. This is critical. Thanks!
THURSDAY NOVEMBER 1, 2007 3:00 PM (PT) The Law Of The Seas Treaty saled through committee today and will soon be voted on by the full Senate. This is globalism at it's worst, putting the UN in control of vital aspects of our sovereignty. The good news is, it only takes 34 senators to defeat it as a 2/3rds majority is needed for passage of a treaty. It's been defeated before, and we must defeat it again. But that's going to take your calls and emails. Read about it here. Then call 202-224-3121. That's the Capitol Hill switchboard. They can connect you to your senators (and they know who they are). Or click here for a list (alphabetically and by state). When you see the senator's name, if you'll click on it, it will take you to his or her individual website, where you can find all their offices, in case you can't leave a messaage on the Washington office phone. Thanks for your help.
THURSDAY NOVEMBER 1, 2007 12:10 AM (PT) Our government says the anthrax vaccine is safe, but the GAO reports reveal that's not the case. One or two percent of those given it may die, or suffer horrendous side effects. Thousands of documented cases prove it. But when a soldier refused to take the Russian Roulette vaccine, he was demoted, penalized and is facing a dishonorable discharge. He thought he was fighting for our freedom. Why should you care? Because there's a plan to give it to YOU too. Details tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT. Read about it here. And don't forget, the voting for the annual list of the World's Worst Hit Records continues through Wed. Nov. 21!
OCTOBER 2007
WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 31, 2007 3:00 AM (PT) It's Halloween-- a night for horrors! And in keeping with horrible traditions, it's time to open the annual poll for the World's Worst Hit Records. You know the one-- the one that comes on right after the radio station ID says they're "playing your favorite songs" and you lunge to change the channel. Any decade, any genre qualifies as long as it was a hit.. meaning someone actually paid money for that song you hate. Now that's terror, tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT.
TUESDAY OCTOBER 30, 2007 12:01 AM (MT) American drivers who have been alarmed at the thought of the Mexican Truck Pilot Program are going to be downright enraged by this. It's all a scam. Not the fact that there really is no infrastructure to properly gauge the safety issues-- that's child's play considering this revelation. 1,000 Mexican trucking companies have been operating throughout the United States for years, exempt from the laws that prohibit them. Stunning details tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT. Want to read about it? Click here.
MONDAY OCTOBER 29, 2007 2:20 AM (PT) When you hear about a government staging a press conference with bureaucrats acting as reports lobbing softball questions to officials, you think it's business as usual in places like China. You don't think it can happen here in the USA. Not only can it, it did. FEMA staged the show where real reporters could listen on the phone but only scripted questions from unknown bureaucrats were taken. What happened, tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT.
SUNDAY OCTOBER 28, 2007 1:00-5:00 AM (ET) / 10P-2A (PT) I'm hosting Coast to Coast tonight and just in time for Halloween I'll be joined by an honest-to-god Witch. But it gets better. She's a technical writer by trade. If that doesn't explain the documentation which comes with your digital doo-dads, nothing will. Her name is Deborah Lipp. Click on it and you'll get to her website. Her latest book is "The Study Of Witchcraft". Click on it for a good deal from Amazon, or check out her "The Way of Four" or "The Way of Four Spellbook" or "Elements of Ritual". (Click on each one of them for more info.) Talk to you tonight.
THURSDAY OCTOBER 25, 2007 2:00 AM (PT) Compared to family court, one soldier is vocal about preferring iraq. He hadn't planned to re-join the service, but couldn't find other work and had to pay child support, which is now deducted from his military pay. Comes home on leave and is shackled handcuffed and jailed for not reimbursing a doctor's visit for his child, unknown to him. Then there's a woman who is jailed by family court if she doesn't allow visitation-- and jailed by another entity, if she does. Hear about these terrors tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT.
WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 24, 2007 2:20 AM (PT) Latest reason for a traffic stop? Too many air fresheners hanging from a rear view mirror say police. It's because I'm hispanic says the driver. You can sort it out. And while you're pondering-- Ecuador is playing quid pro quo. They won't renew the US airbase there-- unless we allow them a base in Miami-- after all, if we have no problem putting soldiers on their land, why not the other way around, they say. And then there's the Hillary movie. Lots to talk about tonight at 10. Of course before then, the senate may vote on the stand alone Dream Act (S.2205) before hand. I'll keep you posted, but if you have the time, call your senator today. 202-224-3121 is the Capitol Hill Switchboard, or call direct by getting the number here.
TUESDAY OCTOBER 23, 2007 2:30 AM (PT) We're always talking about getting involved, but how involved will most of us get? Would you quit your job to run for political office? Would you find a job that let you expose political wrong doing? Chris Tidmore did both-- in Louisiana where wrong doing is easy to find. We'll talk about what's really going on in the Big Easy which in many ways is a microcosm of what's happening in your neighborhood politically. The only difference is Louisiana is open about their corruption. Hear it all tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT. Sorry to say Chris didn't win-- but he came a lot closer than you might expect. Check out his campaign website here.
MONDAY OCTOBER 22, 2007 2:30 AM (PT ) When the American people let congress know that we did not want them to give amnesty to illegals, some were surprised so many citizens actually had an opinion. Others were outraged that voters got involved, blaming everything from racism to talk radio for it. And they figured we'd go away. So they've tried to stick the amnesty provision into various bills to no avail. Now the Senate is going further. They've found a way to pass it without us knowing it. But I'm about to tell you all about it tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT. Want more info? Check Roy Beck's NumbersUSA.com.
FRIDAY OCTOBER 19, 2007 1:10 AM (PT) Three big hours of trivia tonight! But if you're stopping by wanting to know who the heros were that refused to overturn Bush's veto of the massive increase to the CHIP program, click here for the list of Nays (yeas, too). And for those of you wondering what it is-- it was an expansion of the welfare program to provide government health care to children in lower income families. The threshold made it decidedly middle class however, and detractors saw it as a back door to socialized medicine. Granted, much wrong with our current system. But any chance it would be corrected by socialized medicine? In a word: NO.
THURSDAY OCTOBER 18, 2007 12:01 AM (PT) Admit it, what do you do when something goes wrong in the privacy of your home? Probably you swear. Maybe you've stubbed a toe, perhaps the computer is acting up, the printer won't print, or your toilet is over flowing. It was that last one that caused one woman's blue streak. Yes, she was a potty mouth cursing at the commode, but she was in her own bathroom. For that, she's arrested for disorderly conduct. In her own home. Details tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT. And read about it here.
WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 17, 2007 12: 30 AM (PT) Some citizens are comfortable with the provisions of the Patriot Act. Take wiretapping where the government can listen to your calls without a court order. One former Telcom CEO says it isn't because of 9-11, because he was ordered to do it six months before the attack. The senate's been asking all Telcoms for info and the White House is prohibiting them from giving it. Will congress provide Telcoms immunity from your lawsuits without knowing what they've done? Details tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT. Read about it here.
TUESDAY OCTOBER 16, 2007 12:30 AM (PT) A college student who suggested that allowing students to legally carry weapons on campus might deter gun violence was not only suspended, he's been told he can't return unless he goes for counseling. That's right, advocating a pro second amendment position means he's unbalanced according to this school. We'll talk to Gun Owners of America's Larry Pratt about that, and about the government's plan to disarm retired military-- the one the NRA accepts tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT. Looking for an alternative to the NRA that will really protect your right to carry a weapon? Look no further than GOA. Check out their website here and join us tonight.
MONDAY OCTOBER 15, 2007 3:00 AM (PT) What happens when a specialist says your child should be seen by her regularly and your pediatrician thinks he can handle the problem himself. In the case of a New Jersey couple they followed the pediatrician's advice and now are faced with losing parental rights. Actually the hospital said they had lost those rights, a social worker claimed she had the right to privately interview the other kids, and a cop backed her up. None of this is legal, but the intimidation usually works. Horrific details tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT. Read about it here.
SUNDAY OCTOBER 14, 2007 10:00 PM (PT) Hosting Coast to Coast AM tonight (available on a radio near you, no doubt). We'll be talking to Dr. Keith Scott-Mumby who is one of the world's leading alternative health proponents and practitioners. This guy is his own industry. You've got to see some of the stuff he's into. You can read all about it here, or hear all about it in moments.
THURSDAY OCTOBER 11, 2007 12:01 AM (PT) Opponents of socialized medicine point to the excessively long waiting times incurred in places like Canada. 10 months for an MRI not uncommon. But what do they do with maternity patients? Babies won't wait. And they don't have to. Mothers are airlifted to US hospitals-- the system that is so disliked. Find out all about it. What will they do if we have socialized medicine? What will WE do? Details tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT. Read the story here.
And a couple of videos you'll want to watch. One is Immigration By The Numbers (Immigration Gumballs) done so well by Roy Beck of Numbers USA. Spend 14 minutes watching it all right here. The other is Money As Debt. It's gonna cost you 47 minutes of your time, and a night's sleep, but you'll want to see it anyway. It's here.
WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 10, 2007 12:31 AM (PT) The government's unwillingness to protect our borders and stop the avalanche of illegal immigrants is very upsetting to most Americans. Why aren't they doing anything about it? Because they can't imagine what can be done. If that's you, you'll want to hear Daniel Sheehy. He's highlighted the problem, and several Americans who are doing something about it. Find out what you can do tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT.
And if you're in the Albany New York area, you can hear Dan in person this coming Monday, October 15th, 7:30 at the Albany Marriott on Wolf Road. 888-713-8087 for more info. The local JBS chapter is sponsoring the speech and if you're nearby do try to attend. If you'd like to pick up a copy of Dan's book which details the stories of several patriots who are 'doing something about it', here's a link to a good price on "Fighting Immigration Anarchy".
TUESDAY OCTOBER 9, 2007 12:01 AM (PT) Should a citizen be allowed to make an informed decision about whether to be vaccinated, is an ongoing debate. That vaccine manufacturers are often protected from lawsuits arising over adverse reactions should be the only alarm bell you'd need to decide, but it gets worse. That vaccine protecting teenage girls from an STD that was the focus of massive lobbying to make mandatory, turns out to have some side effects. Some fatal side effects. Find out more tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT. Want to know more? Read about it here.
MONDAY OCTOBER 8, 2007 12:01 AM (MT) I'm baack... and ready to talk to you tonight. Lots of things on my mind. For instance, it's one thing to know that the Federal Reserve is neither federal, nor a reserve. It's another to learn that they're decidedly against the interests of the American worker. Find out about former Federal Reserve Chairman Allan Greenspan and his comment that Americans make too much money. We'll also tell you about teen deaths from mandatory vaccines, how Bush is offering Ag Amnesty without telling you and why he wants NAFTA to include Peru. Think "Law of the Sea", and we'll talk, live, tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT
VACATION SCHEDULE
Next week I'll turn into a pumpkin, or otherwise be unavailable. That gives you an opportunity to hear some of the shows you've misssed or want to hear again. We pick out the ones that get the get the most requests, and run them. Since several of you have asked to be alerted as to when they'll air-- here they are!
MONDAY OCTOBER 1, 2007 7:00 PM PT - DR PAUL WILLIAMS - Imagine being a reporter and uncovering a link between a group of students at one university and their involvement in terrorism. Now that's a story everyone wants to read, right? Well Paul Williams who has written extensively about the Islamic threat thought so. He's being sued for his efforts. Paul is an American in America, being sued by a Canadian college. Hear about that and what we really face when it comes to Islamic terrorists. Unpolitically correct but totally true.
So who is Paul Williams? Dr. Paul Williams, Phd. Here's info about his defense fund. Here's his take on the latest bin Laden message. And here's his latest book, at a great price.
MONDAY OCTOBER 1, 2007 8:00 PM PT - JOHN MCMANUS, JBS - If there's no fear that the SPP meeting in Canada was about trashing our sovereignty, then why were the meetings behind closed doors? John McManus, president of the John Birch Society decided to show up. He can only guess what was going on inside, but for a close up view of how the press was treated and what citizens nearby thought, he's got all the details and he joins me this hour. Interested in learning more about JBS? Click here.
MONDAY OCTOBER 1, 2007 9:00 PM PT - CONNIE FOGAL - When we talk about the coming North American Union, most Americans aware of the plan are appalled. But our major media is not exactly forthcoming on this issue. The real story is in what they're not saying. But what about Canadians? What is their media saying about this? And those who are aware of the plan to combine all three nations-- what do they think about it? Find out when Connie Fogal head of the Canadian Action Party joins me this hour. John McManus of JBS suggested Connie after meeting her outside the latest SPP meetings in Quebec. Check her and the CAP out here.
TUESDAY OCTOBER 2, 2007 7:00 - 10:00 PM PT - DR. JEROME CORSI - The discussion of 'IS America self-destructing' is over. The question is "Why?" Who benefits? If we're the economic engine of the rest of the world, why kill America, its economy and workforce? Doubt that's what's happening? Leaf through Jerome Corsi's latest book "The Late Great USA" It's actually pretty easy to prove. What's not so simple is the "Why". The globalists are behind it, some say. Find out how they benefit --and how we lose, as Dr. Corsi joins me tonight. Get a copy of Jerry's book here at a great price.
WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 3, 2007 7:00 PM PT - MELODY CEDARSTROM - Mortgages have imploded, the housing market will undoubtedly continue to fall. It will affect the already erratic stock market, tons of retirement portfolios and most banks. The dollar is in significant decline. Has anyone suggested you buy gold? Before you do, you better truly understand how gold as a commodity trades. There's more to know than the spot price. Understanding some things you're usually not told can make the difference between security and disappointment.
Find out what they are as Melody Cedarstrom from Discount Gold And Silver Trading Company joins me this hour. I've advertised her company for quite awhile and I've asked her to come on and tell you some of the things she's told me that really made a difference in deciding what, if anything, to buy and how. It's definitely not one size fits all. You may be surprised at some of the variables!
WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 3, 2007 8:00 - 10:00 PM PT - AL CUPPETT - some call him the king of conspiracy theories, others see him as a prophet. Decide for your self in this two hour segment and if you want to know more, contact Al by snail mail at Box 111, Wolftown, VA 22748. You can also get some info on his videos at infolords.com and thebyteshow.com. (Click on 'em.)
THURSDAY OCTOBER 4, 2007 7:00 PM PT - TOM CRYER - You've heard about not having to pay taxes for years. People proffering that reasoning often wind up in jail for tax evasion. Then there's Tom Cryer, an attorney from Louisiana who stopped paying-- and was totally acquitted. What was different about his argument? He's not alone, by the way. Vernie Kuglin also won a tax evasion case. Find out how he won and what the chances are that you can successfully stop paying too, as Tom joins me this hour. Definitely check out his website truthattack.org and liefreezone.com. We'll have him on for updates periodically.
THURSDAY OCTOBER 4, 2007 8:00 PM PT - LARRY BECRAFT - Why does one tax protester fail in court, and another one with the same case succeed. You may think it's the judge, and for good reason. But what if the judges are equally biased against the defendants, then what is it? It may come down to the ability of the client, but more likely it's the skill of the attorney. One guy who has won repeatedly is Larry Becraft. He joins me tonight to share his secrets. But before you stop filing, you better hear the rest of the story thits hour.
THURSDAY OCTOBER 4, 2007 9:00 PM PT - JOHN LOTT - We're about to talk with one of my favorite researchers. Dr. John R. Lott who first came to my attention with "More Guns, Less Crime". What amazed me was his intellectual honesty. He was not necessarily pro-gun, but when the facts lined up undeniably, he reported them and accepted them. His latest book is called "Freedomnomics" and the logic is irrefutable. Check it out for yourself by visiting John's site here. And you'll probably want a link to a great price for his book Freedomnomics. Here it is.
FRIDAY OCTOBER 5, 2007 7:00 PM PT - DUNCAN HUNTER - The House of Representatives did as much as they could to fight illegal immigration before the summer recess. And the Bush administration is doing as much as they can to undo the house actions while they're away, like getting the Mexican truck pilot program underway. Or turning our concern against us by draconian citizen employment databases. Find out what's really going on when the illegal immigrant's biggest opponent, Congressman Tom Tancredo, joins me this hour. Check out his campaign site here.
FRIDAY OCTOBER 5, 2007 8:00 - 10:00 PM PT - So you've heard the Fairness Doctrine might be back and you're worried. Stop. You need to know exactly what it was and why there's no big concern. We'll tell you more than you'd ever care about its history and use. But ...if you're enjoying your free unfettered access to the internet, there IS a threat that should scare the daylights out of you that is very real. And it's not coming from the government. Well, not entirely but they'll welcome it. You won't . Hear all about that too, in these two hours. Lots of requests for this one-- try not to miss it. Back Monday the 8th (in my quest to never miss a holiday show, even Columbus Day) to talk to you live!
SEPTEMBER 2007
FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 28, 2007 - We'll play trivia tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT. Talk to you then!
THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 27, 2007 12:01 AM (PT) The CFO of the Texas D.O.T. says that selling public roads to private foreign companies is a lot like playing the casino poker game, "Texas Hold'em". A direct quote? "You can expect political objections, but if you play your cards right, you'll win." Notice he doesn't say the public should have a say in any of this, but he does have a plan for to get around what they do say. More details of the New York conference teaching our bureaucrats how to sell our infrastructure out from under us tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT. Want to read Jerry Corsi's article on this outrage? Click here.
WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 26, 2007 12:01 AM PT Companies are always looking for innovative ways to market to you. Many of them are invasive. But so far nothing tops this-- a phone company that has come up with software to listen to all your calls so they can send ads targeted to what you're talking about. They think it's a plus. They also think you'll believe that they never actually hear what you say or save the information. And now they're trying to sell it to your phone company. Over the top tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT. Want to read it for yourself? Click here.
MONDAY SEPTEMBER 24, 2007 1:01 AM (ET) At one time congress decided what to give our veterans. Now they're debating what to take away. Specifically, the right to own a gun. That's right, people we trained and trusted to carry a weapon in the service, will be forever be denied that right once they're out. How this this possible? In the loophole that denies weapons to the mentally unbalanced. A new bill coming to the floor of the senate denies the right of gun ownership to virtually every serviceman and woman. Find out how this works, or doesn't, tonight at 10. Want to read about it now? Click here.
SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 23, 2007 10:00 PM (PT) (on XM 165 and about 600 radio stations). Have I got a conspiracy for you! It's waaaay beyond a political conspiracy-- it's an all encompassing, multi-faceted mind blowing general purpose conspiracy. But before you can decide whether you believe it, you need to know a little about nonduality. Actually you know everything you need to know, you just don't realize you know it. Jerry Katz, who has spent the last 8 years taking nonduality to the general public, will break it down so you know exactly what we're discussing. It might change the way you view your life entirely. It probably will be a comfort. But whatever it is, we promise to entertain you along the way to a shocking conclusion. Check out Jerry's site nonduality.net here.
FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 21, 2007 7:35 PM (PT) Talking to Freddy Cannon right now. If you'd like a copy of his "Down At Fenway Park", a great Red Sox record with proceeds going go kids in Children's Hospitals, click here. If you'd like to pick up my favorite CD of his greatest hits, it's here. And if you want to check out Freddy's site, it's www.freddycannon.com. Good stuff!
FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 21, 2007 2:01 AM (PT) We'll have Freddy Cannon on tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT, and after that, we'll play trivia for a couple hours after that. If you want to contact Jeanette Maier, the Canal Street Madam, click on csbmadam@aol.com. Yes, these are separate thoughts, unless of course you're factoring nonduality, which we will Sunday night.
THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 20, 2007 12:01 AM (PT) You're driving along and a sheriff's deputy pulls you over. Two people in blue jumpsuits approach your car and ask for samples of your saliva and blood. You protest. They persist. You ask if you have to legally do this. They say they'll pay you $100. You continue to resist and do not get clearance to leave. Is this America? Yes, it's Colorado. The police are apologizing, the survey was private. Private?! Details tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT. Want to read about it? Click here.
WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 19, 2007 1:45 AM (ET) You may think the government should not sell off our infrastructure to private foreign companies. Our government however not only thinks it's a good idea, they want to know how to do it better. And there are foreigners who want to tell them, such as EuroMoney PLC which is holding a conference in New York on what they're calling the public-private partnership. The cost to get in is $2 grand. But anyone likely to reveal what they're really discussing is not allowed at any price. Details tonight at. Want to read about it? Click here. But before we get to that...
Ever wonder what the FBI was working on just prior to 9-11? Keeping us safe from the terrors of voluntary sex. Ridding the streets of New Orleans of a brothel. As one politician put it, 'Prostitutes in New Orleans? Who knew?' More to the point, who cared-- and why. The ladies were convicted, the patrons not even named. It's the story of The Canal Street Madam, Jeanette Maier and she'll tell it tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT. But will she live to tell who's in her little black book? One hooker didn't. All you'll want to know and more. And our thanks to Elwood, The Flaming Liberal for setting it up.
TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 18, 2007 1:00 AM (PT) There are many reasons to believe the economy is in the tank, and even more to suspect the stock market will be affected, but what would you have to know to be willing to bet a billion dollars that the market would lose half of its value by the end of this week? What kind of a catastrophe would you have to know was going to occur for you to spend a billion with a B on options that are only good in the event of cataclysmic collapse? This is not a rhetorical question. An investor put his money on the line last month. Details tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT.
MONDAY SEPTEMBER 17, 2007 12:01 AM PT You knew that the drive to legalize millions of illegals in America did not end with the defeat of comprehensive immigration reform. And you probably heard that it would be snuck into other bills, a bit at a time. Well more than a bit is being inserted into a defense bill in the House this week. Dick Durbin is trying to get his Dream Act into law without you knowing. Amnesty? You bet. In state tuition for illegals? It's in there. All the details tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT.
Want a glimpse of it? click here. And if you'd like to be more outraged, how about the new rules that says it's OK to taser citizens but not illegals? Click here for that one. Maybe it'll make you want to renounce your citizenship. You've probably never thought about that seriously, much like the parents of Junior High School students in California who were shocked to see their kids come home with a letter from a teacher asking them to sign consent to do just that. All a misunderstanding? Click here and you decide. Talk to you tonight.
THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 13, 2007 12:20 AM (MT) Imagine being a reporter and uncovering a link between a group of students at one university and their involvement in terrorism. Now that's a story everyone wants to read, right? Well Paul Williams who has written extensively about the Islamic threat thought so. He's being sued for his efforts. Paul is an American in America, being sued by a Canadian college. Hear about that and what we really face when it comes to Islamic terrorists. Unpolitically correct but totally true tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT.
So who is Paul Williams? Dr. Paul Williams, Phd. Here's his Wikipedia entry. Here's info about his defense fund. Here's his take on the latest bin Laden message. And here's his latest book, at a great price.
TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 11, 2007 12:01 AM (MT) Today marks the sixth anniversary of the September 11th attack. Is there anyone who feels there is any reason to feel more secure? Our open borders alone bely that. The real question is does anyone feel less free? The sad answer is everyone paying attention does-- because almost daily there's another draconian plan announced in the fine print you don't easily see. Take those RFID chips. And those studies linking them to tumors. More of what they don't want you to know tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT.
And you know they don't want you to know the truth about the Mexican trucking pilot program. The House voted to de-fund that fiasco before summer recess. This morning the senate debates a similar amendment in their Transportation appropriation bill sponsored by Senator Durgin. It's vital you let your senators know that you want that amendment to pass. For a lot of reasons, including watching how the White House will react to our representatives thwarting their plans, as they've been ordered by an international tribunal to get this thing going. But there's a danger of it not passing without sufficient public outcry supporting it. Please call the Capitol Hill switchboard at 202-224-3121 and ask to be connected to your senators. (You don't have to know them by name, just where you live.) If you get a voice mail message that says their mailboxes are full, send them an email. You can find out who they are here along with a link for email. (Click on their name and you'll be directed to their individual website which will get you local phone numbers too.) Bottom line, if you take a few minutes, you can find a way to reach them. Please do it now, as the debate occurs in hours.
Great to have Al Cuppett on earlier tonight. Really frightening stuff. Want to know more? Contact Al by snail mail at Box 111, Wolftown, VA 22748. You can also get some info on his videos at infolords.com and thebyteshow.com. (Click on 'em.)
MONDAY SEPTEMBER 10, 2007 2:45 AM (PT) The first Mexican truck in the pilot program rolled into America with no fanfare in the cover of darkness over the weekend. Compare that to Mexico where a grand gala last February announced the program, and the week prior to its inception, word of it was everywhere. We have a government that denies there is a coming NAFTA superhighway and Mexicans are talking about driving on it. Maybe they know something else we're not being told. A real conspiracy tonight. Want to read more? Click here. And if you're really looking for a conspiracy-- we'll also tell you about the medical studies in the '90s linking the implantable RFID chip and tumors in lab animals tested. Here's a link to that one from the Washington Post. But before we get to any of it, we'll talk to the king of conspirators, Al Cuppett at 10 ET / 7 PT! You gotta hear this.
SUNDAY NIGHT SEPTEMBER 9, 2007 1-5A ET / 10P-2A PT I'll be hosting Coast to Coast AM. And I'm really looking forward to talking with Dr. Lauren Thibodeau. She's the real deal when it comes to mediums-- you know, people who talk to people who have become dearly departed, or maybe not so dearly departed, but dead nonetheless. Actually a lot of us talk to the dead, but Dr. Lauren gets answers-- and more. She's so good, she's about the only medium to qualify for residence in Lily Dale on the first try. You'll remember Lily Dale from our visit there a few years ago.
We've been meaning to introduce you to Dr. Lauren since then, and Coast to Coast is the perfect vehicle at the perfect time. Her latest book was just released. Check out Natural-Born Soulmates here, and her previous book Natural-Born Intuition here. Is it the other side, your own intuition (whatever that is, and we'll find out) or just plain delusional paranoia? We'll find out Sunday night. Talk to you then.
FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 7, 2007 12:10 AM (PT) Trivia tonight-- two or three hours depending on whether we'll catch the elusive Val Shively and talk obscure oldies for an hour first. Tune in and find out at 10 ET / 7 PT.
THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 6, 2007 1:45 AM (ET) When we talk about the coming North American Union, most Americans aware of the plan are appalled. But our major media is not exactly forthcoming on this issue. The real story is in what they're not saying. But what about Canadians? What is their media saying about this? And those who are aware of the plan to combine all three nations-- what do they think about it? Find out when Connie Fogal head of the Canadian Action Party joins me tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT. John McManus of JBS suggested Connie after meeting her outside the latest SPP meetings in Quebec. Check her and the CAP out here.
And don't forget that the senate will be debating the FY2008 Transportation Appropriations bill next week. The House version of this bill contains the elimination of funding for the Mexican truck pilot program. Call or write your senators and let them know you want the senate to adopt similar language in their bill. As them to do what it takes to stop this dangerous program. Call 202-224-3121 or click here (all you need to know is where you live).
WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 5, 2007 12:45 AM (PT) When Larry Nichols told you a few years ago that some congressmen had a lot to hide about their extramarital same sex habits, it sounded too out there to be true. Since then, one by one the news reports have proven him right, Larry Craig being the latest. Find out what else he knows and whether he's making good on his comment that he's got enough inside info on Hillary to make her a non candidate. Hear it all tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT.
TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 4, 2007 You've heard that government health care means control and rationing. But if John Edwards gets his way, it will also mean control and forced procedures. We're not only talking vaccinations. He wants to make sure you don't miss your mammogram or colonoscopy or god knows what invasive test. To put a good spin on it, if health care passes and the expected rationing ensues, it might be the only time you're glad you can't get treatment. Ludicrous details tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT. Don't believe me? Click here. And while you're at it, check out this sorry notice about Social Security. Those number mismatch letters they're supposed to send out to employers helping halt illegal immigration? A judge has halted that for now.
MONDAY SEPTEMBER 3, 2007 10:00 PM (PT) Happy Birthday Bucky Lemon. Forgot to say that on the air and meant to! Speaking of forgetting, I forgot to mention that WHLO is now streaming, and of course weeknights from 11P-2A (ET), that includes me. Check them out here!
AUGUST 2007
THURSDAY AUGUST 30, 2007 1:00 AM (PT) The House of Representatives did as much as they could to fight illegal immigration before the summer recess. And the Bush administration is doing as much as they can to undo the house actions while they're away, like getting the Mexican truck pilot program underway. Or turning our concern against us by draconian citizen employment databases. Find out what's really going on when the illegal immigrant's biggest opponent, Congressman Tom Tancredo, joins me tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT.
WEDNESDAY AUGUST 29, 2007 12:45 AM (PT) If you've ever offered advice to a friend, you might be on your way to jail. For instance-- if you've told someone about their civil rights, that's grounds to convict you of practicing law without a license. Nonsense, you say. Well you're right, but it's also part of the actual jury instructions in Nancy Grant's trial. When you can't be found innocent, can it be a fair trial? A rhetorical question, but a very real one for the now guilty Nancy Grant. Details tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT. Read more about it here. And here. And here (scroll down to the middle of the page for that one).
TUESDAY AUGUST 28, 2007 12:30 AM (PT) It's pretty bad when someone has to run for president on a campaign to secure the nations borders. And even worse when it's the platform of more than one candidate. But that's the state of '08, and the person closest to the action is San Diego Congressman Duncan Hunter, a long time supporter of our sovereignty. He wants to stop the Mexican truck pilot program and free Ramos and Compean... no brainers-- but find out who's disagreeing and why, tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT.
MONDAY AUGUST 27, 2007 12:50 AM (PT) Why does one tax protester fail in court, and another one with the same case succeed. You may think it's the judge, and for good reason. But what if the judges are equally biased against the defendants, then what is it? It may come down to the ability of the client, but more likely it's the skill of the attorney. One guy who has won repeatedly is Larry Becraft. He joins me tonight to share his secrets. But before you stop filing, you better hear the rest of the story tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT.
Thinking about a career in trucking? Or maybe you're already a driver and wanting to know how to increase your income? Gordon Knapp has written a couple books you'll want to read. You can probably pick them up at your local bookstore, but even easier to order online. Get "Is Over The Road Trucking For You?" at a great price here, and "All About Trucking" here. Worth the read even if you've been driving awhile!
FRIDAY AUGUST 24, 2007 12:30 AM (PT) Trivia tonight! Got a request for a few links. One is the USDA ruling about labeling pasteurized almonds as raw-- that's here. Another is about the National Highway Transportation Agency deciding to keep it's dealings private. (Yes, they're a government agency.) Read that here. And speaking of privacy, the White House has declared the office of administration is off limits for FOIA requests. Read that here. Then weep. Talk to you at 10 ET / 7 PT. And I'll try to be better about printing the trivia answers after the show. Right now I'm looking for the questions.
THURSDAY AUGUST 23, 2007 12:01 AM (PT) If there's no fear that the SPP meeting in Canada was about trashing our sovereignty, then why were the meetings behind closed doors? John McManus, president of the John Birch Society decided to show up. He can only guess what was going on inside, but for a close up view of how the press was treated and what citizens nearby thought, he's got all the details and he joins me tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT. Interested in learning more about JBS? Click here.
WEDNESDAY AUGUST 22, 2007 12:20 AM (PT) In the middle of our discussion about illegal aliens comes this logic from a Kansas appellate court-- it is NOT a crime to be in America Illegally. You're wondering how that's possible? Well according to them, it IS a crime to enter the country illegally but there's nothing on the books that says it's a crime to stay here. "Say What?!" you say? Me too, but here's the worst part-- they are not alone. Other states have used that logic before. Find out how it came to this, tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT. Want to read the distressing news for yourself? Click here.
TUESDAY AUGUST 20, 2007 12:45 AM (PT) North American leaders, including Bush, continue their meetings in Quebec behind tightly closed doors. They strongly deny the topic is the North American Union, which they claim is not coming. They denigrate the protesters as being misinformed. Then why is it they feel the need to talk behind a shroud of secrecy. If it's all so good, why not tell us-- or at least tell congress? Why does no one except a select group of invitees have access? More of what they don't want us to know tonight at 10 ET /7 PT.
We'll also talk about what we were going to talk about last night but never got around to discussing. What threw me off was the coverage of Elvira. She's the illegal who was holed up in a Chicago church for a year, protesting her deportation. You've heard about her-- and if you've heard the whole story, perhaps you share my complete mystification. Let's look at the facts:
Elvira first entered America illegally in 1997 and was deported. She returned and had a child here to a man she would not identify. (Wanna bet she didn't pay for the birth with her Mastercard or health insurance?) She then moved to Chicago where she further broke the law. She worked at O'Hare International Airport cleaning planes, knowingly using a false Social Security number. She was convicted of that, and placed on probation for three years. (How the heck we didn't deport her then is another mystery of the system. And why she wasn't also charged with a felony for having re-entered the country is a wonder too.) When she was to report for deportation last year she took refuge in a local church for over a year, claiming that our government was trying to separate her from her son. (How the church could justify their complicity and how they have not lost their tax exempt status at the least is yet another puzzle, but never ind that, we've got a bigger question...)
You may be asking it-- If she's deported, can't she leave with her son? Absolutely. Mexican law gives her son full citizenship. So what is her argument? Get ready to be nauseated. Her issues is that if she took her son with her, the child would lose all the opportunities he has here. Opportunities? Taxpayer supported services, that is. The child would not lose citizenship-- just free education, health care and who knows what. So she had to choose between the life her son could have on the backs of American workers, or the life he would have with her.
And she expects people to be outraged. Hopefully they will be-- but not in the way she and her handlers are expecting. She's now safely back in Tijuana. Meanwhile the child's legal guardian is the Church pastor's wife. Maybe we'll address the church's role. (Maybe we'll notice that among all the "opportunities" afforded the boy born here-- one of them is apparently not the opportunity to learn English which reports claim he does not speak.) But the real issue we need to address is the concept of birth right citizenship. Elvira would be my hero if this insanity touched off an outcry that resulted in rethinking that loophole. One can hope.
MONDAY AUGUST 20, 2007 12:15 AM (CT) There's been talk about label laws for imported products. Things made in a foreign country that we eat, for instance. But that's almost a moot point when things bearing American names, made right here, contain a variety of imported ingredients. Think it's not a problem? Then hear about the discovery of metal shavings in aspartame imported from China. Foreign nutrasweet? you ask. Yes, and that's not the worst part. Find out when it was discovered tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT. Want to read one of the articles about it? Click here. For a bonus, check out the short piece on the exploding Chinese pajamas here. OK, they just caught on fire. That's enough. Talk to you tonight.
THURSDAY AUGUST 16, 2007 12:10 AM (CT) For months the Bush administration and congress told us that we had to pass immigration reform because the laws didn't exist to tackle illegal immigration without it. Now we find that they not only exist, but the Bush Administration has done a major turn around and wants to actively enforce them. While we're saying "Good" we ought to look at "Why". And there's a sinister side to this. Find out what it is and how we can thwart it too tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT.
Good to talk with June Maxam last night. If you'd like an email subscription to the great stories in the NorthCountryGazette click here. Then look on the right hand side under "Resources" for "NCG Daily Digest". Click on that. You'll like the info, and June deserves the support. I think I had another link, but now I'm too tired to remember what it was. Talk to you tonight!
TUESDAY AUGUST 14, 2007 12:10 AM (PT) If something goes terribly wrong in your life, and you wind up in court-- either as defendant or plaintiff, you probably think a jury will hear your side of the story. They'll weigh the evidence you want to present on your behalf, right? Wrong. A judge will decide what's heard and what's not and you may not have a chance at getting your side in front of a jury. You may think it's an outrage, and I'd agree with you, but the real outrage is being in front of a judge who has an agenda against your position. What you should know about court tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT.
You may remember Else Baumgartner who believed that being in the right and exposing folks in the wrong would be rewarded. Like many people, she believed that courts were the last bastion of fair treatment. That laws, codes and regulations exist to give people a fair hearing. As Else began to find out differently, she began to really fight. And that's when things began their downhill descent. She's been rewarded with disbarment, loss of pharmacy license, jail time and ridicule. Hear the latest when June Maxam of NorthCountryGazette.org joins me at 10 ET.
Think it's an isolated case? It's the norm. You'll also hear the latest on Michael Schiavo. As you may recall, it was June who first brought Terri's plight to national attention. The real issue was bigger than Terri's life-- it's the power of judges, particularly in probate court. Was Terri's husband a fit guardian? That was the real question and it was never answered or even considered. So what's up with Michael now? Find out tonight.
And find out how June has been rewarded for HER efforts on bringing you all the details of that case by being the victim of cyberstalkers. If you want the info that only people like June will go out on a limb to provide, and at virtually no renumeration, how about supporting northcountrygazette.org? Patronize the advertisers, donate, or get a subscription. We'll tell you more about that tonight too.
MONDAY AUGUST 13, 2007 1:30 AM (PT) News out of Great Britain: Top secret data on terrorism has been stolen. The kind of stuff that is a virtual roadmap, a who's who and how to. The info that creates dread just thinking it's missing. And where was it? At a private company that took care to make sure they were secure. They even had non-published addresses.. and this data.. where was it? On a hard drive the size of a DVD player. All you need to harm the world was conveniently portable. Why we're not safe tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT. Want to read all about it? Click here.
And as for one of my favorite rants, Jane Spies with NFJA.org has done a fine job on the myth of the successful child support system. Read it here. This horribly flawed program might be the greatest abridging of your civil rights in the history of our country and it is NOT "for the children". And The Farrell Report has started an editorial page-- what better a way to begin than by quoting our old Philly Friend Stu Bykofsky? Check it out here.
THURSDAY AUGUST 9, 2007 12:01 AM (PT) We're told that terrorism is our number one concern, not the border. Turns out those terrorists-- Islamic fundamentalists-- are being funded by those violent Mexican drug gangs coming across that border. Details on the DEA report proving it tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT. Byt the way-- it's not new! (Well it is to us, the public.) Want to read more about it? Click here.
For those of you thinking I never have anything good to say... about politics, you're probably right. However if you're looking for phone service, have I got a tip for you. www.voipyourlife.com Many people are aware that VoIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol) telephone service is a great choice for value. It's cheap, loaded with features and can offer acceptable sound quality. The problem has been that customer service is non-existant. And I'm being kind. Then I found a compnay with 100% positive customer service reviews. Immediately I think their PR company wrote them all in house. Wrong.
Dennis Smith has singlehandedly changed the customer service paradigm with www.voipyourlife.com. You call them, they answer almost immediately-- from the middle of America, not a country no one can pronounce-- and they're genuinely pleased to hear from you. If you ask them something they can't answer, they'll tell you-- and they'll get you the help you need. Tech support, also right here in the USA, is 24 hours a day. Then there's people like me, who ask something tech support can't answer. They refer me to the... CEO?! Yup.
But this is a Friday night at midnight and I don't want to wait, so I email Dennis Smith, figuring he'll read it on Monday. Nope. He reads it within an hour, sends a detailed explanation that solves my problem, and offers to walk me through it on the phone if I've got questions. I do. Just one. How is this possible?! But I learned early on, not to question the good things in life. So I'll accept it as a gift from god. I feel obligated to pass along the word. Not obligated to them-- obligated to YOU. A lot of people ask me about these things, and if you're about to wonder which VoIP company to try, as far as I'm concerned, you've got one choice: www.voipyourlife.com
WEDNESDAY AUGUST 8, 2007 12:10 AM (MT) Americans were told it would be impossible to find the illegal alien workers. Now it turns out for many of them, their whereabouts were well known to the government. Now comes the new rules that says employers will have to act on the notices they get about their illegals. And they're complaining about it. Suddenly we're able to enforce the laws that congress told us didn't exist or couldn't be followed, much to the chagrin of everyone involved. Government logic and lies tonight.
But before we get to that, for real government illogic, nothing beats New Orleans. And at 10 Jeff Crouere joins me to entertain you with that. Well it would be entertaining if Louisiana weren't part of America. As it is (regardless of what you've heard to the contrary), you might weep. Wonder what's up with David Vitter, for instance? Ringsidepolitics.com is the place to find out. Not only does Jeff host the site, and a radio show, but he's also host of a local New Orleans television show of the same name (Ringside Politics) which has won awards and attention and impresses me that there's anywhere where local television is seen beyond the lucrative evening news. Our buddy "Elwood" (The Flaming Liberal) suggested we talk to Jeff, who is a republican insider with fine dirt on both sides of the aisle.
TUESDAY AUGUST 7, 2007 1:00 AM (PT) Mortgages have imploded, the housing market will undoubtedly continue to fall.
Find out what they are as Melody Cedarstrom from Discount Gold And Silver Trading Company joins me tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT. I've advertised her company for quite awhile and I've asked her to come on and tell you some of the things she's told me that really made a difference in deciding what, if anything, to buy and how. It's definitely not one size fits all. You may be surprised at some of the variables!
MONDAY AUGUST 6, 2007 12:15 AM (PT) Morgan turns a year and a half today. Morgan is our male Bernese Mountain Dog you hear during the show when he's spotted a wild turkey and he truly is a love. Gonna bake him a 'meat cake' before the show, which is to say there's renewed fire danger, this time inside the house. Fortunately outside it, we're doing fine. The wildfires are to the south of us. Thanks to those of you who asked. I think we'll answer some other questions tonight.
The discussion of 'IS America self-destructing' is over. Corsi joins me tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT. Get a copy of Jerry's book here at a great price.
I should also link to a great price on John R. Lott's Freedomnomics. Here it is. A lot of requests for that too! We spoke with John last Wednesday night.
THURSDAY AUGUST 2, 2007 9:00 PM (PT) Talking to Tom Cryer was great! (Read next entry to find out about him if you don't know.) Definitely check out his website truthattack.org and liefreezone.com. We'll have him on for updates periodically. Meanwhile, trivia tomorrow night! Strut your stuff and win.
Congrats to "Elwood" aka The Flaming Liberal. Philosophically he and I are worlds apart, but he's the best proof that being involved makes a difference. You may recall when Keith Rush was appointed to the Louisiana Republican Party Central Committee, Elwood blew a gasket. Seems Keith had previously been involved as a David Duke supporter and was widely publicized as such, complete with quotes from him.
OK, maybe there's more to the story. Maybe what was publicized wasn't true, or if it was, maybe Keith denounced any connection with it since then. I don't know. Or care, really. Why this interested me, is that "Elwood" contacted by mail and phone, the head of the Louisiana Republican Party Central Committee repeatedly for an explanation as to why Rush was appointed.
Again, I don't know. Maybe he's a great appointment. Maybe he's a stellar guy. Maybe he's the devil incarnate. All that is beside the point, really. What is the point is that the committee never replied to Elwood. Not a word.
Maybe they didn't like the way he asked. Maybe they knew him as a outspoken democratic activist. Or maybe they didn't think anyone who asked such questions deserved a reply. Maybe they thought it was so over the top, they had nothing to defend. Or maybe they had no defense. I don't know any of that either.
What I do know, is the lack of response led to further questions, allegations, accusations and downright suspicion as to the motives of the group by a lot of people, who granted were detractors. Elwood made sure the word got around.
What I can't understand is why this committee didn't have a ready statement about this. For someone so publicly associated with inflammatory characters and rhetoric, you'd think it would be appropriate for a committee embracing him to have something to say. Maybe a 'mea culpa he's changed' perhaps a 'he never was that anyway and here's proof' or something. But by saying nothing, more people noticed. I don't think it did them any good to ignore what they had to know would be made an issue, if only by their opponents.
I don't understand how the underdogs here-- the republicans in heavily democratic Louisiana, would miss an obvious opportunity to set the record straight. I've heard from others that Keith Rush is an upstanding guy. Maybe he is. But considering the public baggage, the committee didn't do themselves or Rush any favors by their silence. At least I don't think so.
Elwood stayed on it-- and now the Southern Poverty Law Center has gotten on board. He asked if I'd print a link to that story. Here it is. From what I know I'm not a fan of the philsophy of this group either, but that's not the point.
This is a story about how one person can raise public awareness singlehandedly, and how one group can embroil themselves in needless controversy. All they had to do was reply. Would it have placated Elwood? I doubt it, but depending on what was said, it might have laid the concerns of many others to rest. Others who might not have noticed had the silence in response to some allegations not become deafening. Congratulations Elwood. I have no idea if you're right about Keith but I'm convinced the republicans were wrong not to show you the courtesy of a reply.
THURSDAY AUGUST 2, 2007 1:00 AM (PT) You've heard about not having to pay taxes for years. People proffering that reasoning often wind up in jail for tax evasion. Then there's Tom Cryer, an attorney from Mississippi who stopped paying-- and was totally acquitted. What was different about his argument? He's not alone, by the way. Vernie Kuglin also won a tax evasion case. Find out how he won and what the chances are that you can successfully stop paying too, as Tom joins me tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT.
WEDNESDAY AUGUST 1, 2007 7:05 PM (ET) We're about to talk with one of my favorite researchers. Dr.
JULY 2007
TUESDAY JULY 31, 2007 12:01 AM (PT) When you work for someone there's s a bond of trust. Your employer trusts you not to steal. But what if your employer is stealing from you by selling your private information to marketers without your permission or knowledge. And what if that information includes your medical data identifying number. That's gotta be illegal doesn't it? Not if it's the Post Office which has been doing it according to one lawsuit-- and the employee handbook's fine print. Are they the only employer doing it? Details tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT. Read about it here.
SUNDAY JULY 29, 2007 5:00 PM PT The old adage, 'It's not if your vote counts, but who counts the votes', has always been a concern in elections. But now, the ability to tamper with the results has never been easier, and few people are concerned. While you're talking about whether Hillary or Obama or anyone else might be elected, you'd better look at the recent California results which showed that 100% of the voting machines tested could relatively easily be compromised. What you really need to worry about , tomorrow night at 10 ET / 7 PT. Want to read all about it. Click here.
FRIDAY JULY 27, 2007 12:45 AM (CT) Trivia tonight!
FRIDAY JULY 27, 2007 12:30 AM (ET) Lots of requests to post a link to the article describing how lawyer Tom Cryer won his tax case in Louisiana. If you listen, you know how much I dislike these charlatans who say you don't have to pay taxes for various reasons. And you know your success at anything in court is in large part dependent upon what evidence a judge will allow. Challenging the system this way is risky. Jail is a 4 letter word. That said, this is a compelling argument.
In short, it focuses on the definition of "income". Just as a corporation is taxed on profits, not gross receipts, income is not any money that comes to an individiual, but rather the profit from from that income i.e. interest. Read it all here.
THURSDAY JULY 26, 2007 1:45 AM (PT) We have imports that have killed pets, injured children and done untold damage to the population. Who protects us from this stuff. The FDA (which doesn't test anything,--which would be OK if they mandated the manufacturers tested these ingredients-- but they don't) is working hard to stop you from trying an experimental drug that might save or prolong your life. They feel a mandate to protect you from your own choices. What's wrong with this picture tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT. Want to read the story? Click here.
WEDNESDAY JULY 25, 2007 12:01 AM (PT) You've heard about the government losing sensitive data- like the VA losing the personal information on 26.5 million veterans last year. Well, they not only lose data and drives, but millions of dollars in computer hardware too. The report on the VA shows $6.4 million worth of computers and peripherals missing. How this this possible? When no one is personally responsible for the money. A private business owner would go nuts. A government employee hardly notices. How to change it tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT. Read the story here.
And while you're reading, you've GOT to see the article June Maxam just did on Michael Schiavo. Get it here. And do what you can to patronize the advertisers of June's NorthCountryGazette.org or order an email subscription. It's the only income she receives and her work is worth supporting. Thanks.
Last links for the night-- Peter Chowka's wonderful work on the horrors of socialized medicine-- the latest is here!
TUESDAY JULY 24, 2007 12:41 AM (PT) Happy Birthday Carol Ford! So you think there's any security at the airport? And you think those long lines and invasive searches and carry on restrictions will keep you from harm's way? And you're comforting that nobody is excepted-- not even employees? What would you think if you found out that any employee passing through security carrying virtually anything does not even warrant a glance if it's after midnight? That's the case at Sky Harbor airport in Phoenix. Find out why you're not safe tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT. Or read the article here. Lisa Fletcher at TV 15 did a find job on the story.
SUNDAY JULY 22, 2007 2:10 AM (PT) Ever wonder what happens when you die? If you said "no" chances are you're already dead. Science doesn't know the whole picture, but increasingly its getting a handle on the process both physically and spiritually. It was the lead story in Newsweek Magazine this past week, and tonight we'll talk about it on Coast to Coast when Dr. Jeffrey Long joins me to probe Near Death Experiences at 10 PM PT / 1 AM ET. If you want to check out his site before hand, click here. And if you want to see everything going on at Coast to Coast, click here.
THURSDAY JULY 19, 2007 1:15 AM (PT) You'd normally think the cause of a couple of border agents jailed for allegedly shooting a Mexican would not be something a well known liberal would support. But the facts behind the jailing of Ramos and Compean are so extreme that even Diane Feinstein could see the miscarriage of justice. She's asking Bush to free them. Will he do it? If there were really justice Johnny Sutton would be the one on trial. And maybe he still will be. Details tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT.
Want to read the Feinstein story? It's here. And if you somehow missed President Bush's latest directive, you'll want to see it here. To sum it up-- anyone undermining his plan for iraqi peace can lose all their assets. Sounds like a lot of congress should be alarmed. It's so out there, I had to triple check to make sure it wasn't something from a spoof site. Sadly, it's the real deal.
If you want to laugh at all that's wrong with America, you've got to read Darren Hunter's "The Exile Project". Find out about it here.
TUESDAY JULY 17, 2007 12:55 AM (PT) The greatest threat to our liberty? The process of hiding bills that can't pass, in other bills that must. Take Teddy Kennedy. Please. RIght now he's shoved his controversial hate crimes bill that failed on its own-- into the defense bill that has to pass. So the senate's choice? Block needed funding for the military or pass a bill that makes what you think or say about homosexuality a crime. So much for the bible. So much for liberty. Details tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT. Want to read it for yourself? Go here.
And while I'm giving you links.. Shecky Bruce's book is finally out. If you have any doubt UFOs have been here, or just want to laugh, you gotta check it out here.
Meanwhile back to earth, if you find Senator Vitter incredulous-- especially his press conference that said he never had sex with a New Orleans prostitute, check out Ringside here! The most amazing part of Vitter is he got into the senate because his predecessor disgraced the office with a sex scandal. What part caused him to think he wouldn't get caught? What part caused him to be OK with all his righteous indignation about sexual matters when he behind closed doors did what most of us haven't? And how does the Misses justify her previous comments deriding Hillary staying with Bill when she's Standing By Her Man (thank you Billy Sherrill)? Thi story is as good as any tabloid trash!
MONDAY JULY 16, 2007 1:01 AM (CT) If you come into America illegally, do you have constitutional rights? It should be a rhetorical question but it isn't in this case where deputies searching for a rape suspect entered the home of eleven illegal aliens. Their lawyer is saying-- get this-- "All persons are guaranteed certain basic constitutional rights regardless of their legal status." Now never mind that cops contend it was a legal arrest-- lets get back to what part of the constitution covers invaders to this country. All the details tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT. Read the story here.
THURSDAY JULY 12, 2007 2:25 AM (PT) While our government is taking away your rights in the name of protecting you, and combining multiple databases in the claim of finding terrorists, terrorists have access to our top secret activities in the mid east. They have schematics of a detainee holding facility in Iraq, aerial photographs of military installations in Bagdad, a guide to our fuel farm in Afghanistan... and the only thing they had to infiltrate was... the internet where it all resides openly if you know where to look. Details tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT.
And if you're concerned about the coming government take over of health care (which you should be), Peter Chowka's got another interesting article on Michael Moore's Sicko online here. And while I'm giving you links, there's one from NorthCountryGazette.org I'd like you to read here. Thanks.
TUESDAY JULY 10, 2007 8:00 PM (PT) We'll be talking to Peter Chowka this hour about our health care crisis. The crisis is the complete illogic of those investigating it, from Michael Moore to every democratic candidat for president (and some republicans too). The easiest way for a government to get control of anything is to create and foster a major problem, coming in at the end with the save-the-day solution which inevitably takes away your liberty in the process. Health care is a prototypical example. Read Peter's latest two part article, Medicine at gunpoint here and here at AmericanThinker.com.
TUESDAY JULY 10, 2007 12:45 AM (PT) The government says they can force you to buy auto insurance because driving is a privilege and you've got to prove you're financially able to pay for any accidents you have. OK, then on what basis can states force you to get health insurance? Many are passing laws mandating it. Is life a privilege? And should you get sick without insurance, are you injuring some innocent third party for which you should be financially liable. There are already laws about paying your bills, so what is this about? And how is it constitutional? Details tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT.
MONDAY JULY 9, 2007 12:01 AM (PT) Our government is claiming they don't know who is in jail. They didn't say it that way. What they said was there are 302,500 illegal aliens currently in American jails who should be deported after their sentences, but they won't be because the federal government can't find them. This would be funny if Americans weren't being killed by them. And we thought our immigration department could process 15 million illegals overnight? With a system that isn't capable of tracking people in captivity? Insanity tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT.
If you're reading this, you might want to check out The Farrell Report. I'm always amazed when someone will take the time and effort to put a website together motivated only by the desire to awaken people to the current political reality. In many ways it's a thankless job, and in all ways it's tedious to do well. I, for one, do not have that sense of dedication. But Joyce does. And she does a fine job of it! Add the The Farrell Report to your links list. You're bound to find something you won't see elsewhere. And when it comes to knowing what the government is doing, ignorance is definitely not bliss, so check it out.
And while I'm giving you links, don't forget www.jbs.org. We had John McManus, president of the John Birch Society on with us Thursday night. It's an organization you should investigate. (Everyone else has-- the California legislature gave them a clean bill of health in the '60s when detractors called them anti-semetic and worse. Nothing could be further than the truth.) Their New American magazine is a treasure trove of info, as is the website. We've asked John to be our on the scene reporter for the upcoming NAU conference in Quebec next month. I can't imagine a better take than his. (The North American Union is the greatest threat to our sovereignty right now, and our president has laid the groundwork to bypass congress entirely with his SPP --Security and Prosperity Partnership --which is neither secure nor prosperous-- agreement signed in Waco two years ago, as you probably know if you listen to me.)
TUESDAY JULY 3, 2007 1:00 AM (PT) Most of those who want national health care are the same people berating the government's handling of virtually everything. Why do they think it would be different with medicine? You want President Bush in charge of your medical decisions? You want hospitals run like the motor vehicle bureau? Or worse yet, like immigration? Why is it that the people who are pointing out every inefficiency and absurdity in government want that government to control their health? Illogic tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT.
MONDAY JULY 2, 2007 12:01 AM (PT) So you've heard the Fairness Doctrine might be back and you're worried. You won't . Hear all about that too, tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT.
JUNE 2007
THURSDAY JUNE 28, 2007 12:45 AM (PT) The latest Chinese import horror? Tires that explode and kill you. So the question was put to Bush's press secretary about how to stop the assault on Americans by the flood of inferior products including our entire food supply. And the response? Everything's fine, and when it's not, have it recalled. Maybe we'll get more clarity on immigration. The hopefully final cloture vote will hopefully be defeated in the senate. Find out if they're senatraitors tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT. If you're reading this before the cloture vote, take a moment to call your senators and tell them to vote no. 202-225-3121 Thanks.
WEDNESDAY JUNE 27, 2007 1:30 AM (PT) We'll continue to stay on the senate and let you know how you can help defeat the immigration bill, but while we've been focusing on that and other outrages, we've missed something big. Did you know the feds are shutting down gun shops? Did you know there are 80% fewer gun dealers compared to a decade ago? Did you know that some of the reasons are for abbreviating the city of license? Or alphabetizing the applications in the manner an ATF agent instructed a shop to do. More outrage tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT.
And yes, the senate continues to try to ram an immigration bill through, regardless of the wishes of the majority of Americans. But it might not be as easy on this next cloture vote. Once again, NumbersUSA is the best place for more info on what you can do now.
TUESDAY JUNE 26, 2007 12:30 AM (MT) First the Senate wrote an immigration bill that nobody liked. When it didn't pass a couple of weeks ago, Harry Reid came up with a way to bypass senate protocol to get it through. Trent Lott wanted to come up with a way to bypass you. Politicians from all viewpoints are upset that you're aware and complaining. Now we'll see if you complained to the point they couldn't ignore you. Find out about the cloture vote tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT.
If you're reading this early in the day, there's still time to tell your senator to just say NO to Cloture. At this point, your best bet might be to go to NumbersUSA for the latest info. Thanks!
MONDAY JUNE 25, 2007 12:45 AM (PT) The senate will vote on immigration this week. And we've got to stay on them to vote no. But while our attention is there, the government is quietly bringing the North American Union together-- kinda makes immigration a moot point. Then we've got the threat of the Fairness Doctrine. Let's spread it across all broadcast media-- that's gonna mean a lot of vacancies for conservatives in television news and programming, in addition to a ton of PBS and NPR gigs. A war they won't want to win tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT.
Thank you for contacting your senators to say no on cloture. It's more important right now than at any time. You can call 202-225-3121 and you'll be connected to you senator's office. For online info, click here. We'll tell you who is on the fence tonight, but by tomorrow it might be too late. I'm always encouraged when you take the time to get involved. Along those lines, kudos to Daniel who ha started a website inspired by recent events affecting truckers. Check it out here.
THURSDAY JUNE 21, 2007 9:16 PM (PT) Talking to Peter Chowka right now about Michael Moore's "Sicko". Read his article here.
THURSDAY JUNE 21, 2007 9:00 PM (PT) The immigration bill has a number number. What was S.1348 is NOW S.1639. It's the same bill, just a new number. So if you're going to print out the first three pages and write NO across the bill number, print it out here. (Do it twice, write your name on the front page too, and then mail each copy to your senators. That way they'll know you read the bill, which Trent Lott seems to think you're incapable of doing.) Thanks!
THURSDAY JUNE 21, 2007 8:00 PM (PT) OK, now I'm mad. A group called "Iowans for Tax Relief" along with a group called "Iowa Christian Alliance" are hosting a Republican presidential candidates debate. Ron Paul was not included. Ron's campaign manager thought perhaps the invitation was misplaced. So he called "Iowans For Tax Relief", and spoke with a Mr. Ed Failor, an officer, who confirmed Mr. Paul was not invited, would not be invited and would not be allowed to participate on any level. When asked why he would not state, and ended the call. Want to let him know what you think? Here you go:

THURSDAY JUNE 21, 2007 12:10 AM (MT) Happy Summer Solstice! For most of us the discussion of illegals invading America is rhetorical. For one homeowner it got personal this week, when he found a group of them hiding in his kitchen. His dog started barking, he came out of his bedroom and strange people with tattoos said 'hide me, hide me' in Spanish. Then he heard the helicopter. So did the illegals who were not willing to leave, but finally left to hide in a tree. The rest of the story tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT.
I've been on you to call your Senators (202-225-3121) but here's something even more effective. Click here and scroll down to S.1348. (That's the Senate immigration bill.) Click on it and print out two copies of the first three pages. Write a big red NO across the bill number and put your name and address on the first page of both of them. Mail a set to each of your senators. Click here to get the addresses. This way Trent Lott can't say you don't know what's in the bill!
WEDNESDAY JUNE 20, 2007 12:45 AM (MT) Many environmental groups want to keep the border open. They site all their concern for critters, resources, nature... well now comes word that illegals are setting fires to US national forests to avoid border patrol. They're burning our resources to a crisp and threatening people as well as wildlife. But have the environmental groups decried this activity? They haven't said a word, and neither has congress. More on the invasion of America tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT.
TUESDAY JUNE 19, 2007 1:15 AM (PT) You've been speaking, and the senate has been hearing you. And some lawmakers are listening. This is upsetting other lawmakers. Like Trent Lott who has distain for your interest and blames it on talk radio, not giving you credit for an original thought. But Harry Reid takes the cake. He doesn't care what you think because he's found a way around it. He's come up with a seldom used tactic that could work-- if you don't remain involved. What it is and what you can do, tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT.
MONDAY JUNE 18, 2007 6:10 PM (PT) Jon Goodman joined us Friday night. His dad was Dickie Goodman (of Buchanan and Goodman fame-- the guys who did "Flying Saucer Pt. 1 & 2" in the '50s). They really started the sampling concept, and the trend continues to this day. Jon has made a lot of Dickie Goodman'stuff available online, and he's about to release another compilation. I'm telling you because he'd love to include a sample of your creativity. (Well, one of you, anyway.)
The contest is on! Send an .mp3 sample of your best shot at a novelty tune (using sampling, or not) to dickiegoodman@comcast.net. The winner won't get a dime (there isn't a lot of money in these things)but you will get as much glory as downloaded CDs may bring. Before you do anything, check out the website here-- and good luck!
MONDAY JUNE 18, 2007 12:20 AM (MT) Democrats have been decrying talk radio for years. But now they're joined by Republicans-- one in particular, Senator Trent Lott who in one comment not only insulted American citizens but smeared talk radio in the process. In a back handed compliment he says talk radio is running the country. In outright insults, he thinks you're too dumb to think for yourself and talk hosts can't read congressional bills, and in a direct threat, he says it's time to do something about it. Amazing but true tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT.
WEDNESDAY JUNE 13, 2007 6:40 PM (PT) I thought I'd seen this before, but it made me laugh again. We should be crying about our trade policy with China, but take a moment out and watch this video clip from JibJab.
WEDNESDAY JUNE 13, 2007 1:20 AM (PT) The president is pushing, so far senators aren't buying. But he only needs 15 converts to get his way on immigration. Then there's the head of Homeland Security who says that a broader crackdown on illegals is thwarted without the passage of this bill. He's either not read it, or he's intentionally lying to you. And on top of that, the transportation secretary is erasing our borders. Hear all about it tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT.
JUNE 12, 2007 12:45 AM (PT) You've heard a team is good as its weakest member. Using that logic, a law is only as good as it's strongest loophole... which brings us to a variety of things-- from the insane immigration bill-- you have called your senator again haven't you? The president is pulling out all the stops on that one-- to the insanity of believing we have any standards when we don't test imports from a nation that kills its own people. Hear about the Chinese bridge designed by the blind contractor tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT.
MONDAY JUNE 11, 2007 12:01 AM PT China is reacting to our recalls. They're saying that 99% of the stuff they send us is fine. If so, that one percent is a killer. Americans, their pets and children have been poisoned, burned, trapped, choked, and in some cases assaulted by Chinese imports. Hear the whole list to date-- especially that poisoned part, as the latest has more mystery ingredients in pet foods-- and find out about a contractor sending Americans to Iraq and suing their families when they die, tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT.
FRIDAY JUNE 7, 2007 12:30 AM (PT) Congratulations. It was your calls to congress that did it. You have stopped this round of the immigration bill by letting your senators know how you felt about it. If a handful of people called, the bill would have passed before Memorial Day. If a few hundred called, it would probably have been voted in today. Instead, tens of thousands of Americans contacted the elected denizens on Capitol Hill and it paid off. Monday we'll go over the votes so you can see who was moved and who wasn't but for now take the weekend off and reward yourself...
..or we'll reward you tonight on Utterly Useless trivia. Yes, if you preen at being called a 'know it all', have we got a deal for you. We'll throw out some questions about completely irrelevant but hopefully entertaining items that no one in their right mind remembers. And you're welcome to call with a guess. On the other hand, if you've been aching to show off your arcane knowledge on some obscure, or even popular, subject, call in and give us your category-- we'll give you a question that hopefully you can't answer. But if you can.. you win, tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT.
THURSDAY JUNE 7, 2007 12:10 AM (PT) The Senate is currently debating a suicidal immigration bill. And it's not like they don't have history to warn them. In 1986, we passed the amnesty bill that was supposed to fix the problem. Bill King was one of four INS directors in charge of administering it. He knows first hand what went wrong, and he's uniquely positioned to know what's worse in the current scheme. We've got a lot of questions and he'll have a lot of answers tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT.
We talked with Joshua at Spotters earlier tonight and he mentioned that now through Monday he's offering a 10% discount on Spotters and free shipping, plus no sales tax outside of Pennsylvania. If you've been thinking about Spotters, it's a good time to order. I strongly suggest the Penetrator Lens. Truly amazing. And if you want to know more, it's a fine time to call. 866-NO-GLARE. And check out their website too: Spotters-Shades.com.
JUNE 6, 2007 8:00 PM (PT) Think your calls don't matter. Well this isn't congress but it is CBS which is probably a bigger, badder bureaucracy. They've reversed their decision and are not canceling Jericho. Fans of the show can read it here. You can thank Dave in Pahrump for telling me about the almost impending doom of a lot of people's favorite show.
JUNE 6, 2007 7:30 PM (PT) Talking about this truly disgusting immigration bill right now and urging you to contact your senators, as the debate on it c could end as soon as tomorrow night and the vote would follow. Here's some links you might need:
Here's all you need to know to contact your senators. You don't even have to know who they are.
Here's all you need to know to contact your representatives. All you need to know is your zip code.
And here's all the info for getting in touch with the White House.
As for the 20 loopholes Senator Jeff Sessions points out (that we just read on the air) go here and read them for yourself. A few times. Then call your senators again. And get all your friends to call theirs too. Thanks.
JUNE 6, 2007 7:35 PM (MT)If you haven't seen Grassfire's "Where's The Fence" tv campaign, click here. You'll like it.
JUNE 6, 2007 11:30 PM (MT) Americans are upset at the president and congress for a variety of things. There's been much said and a lot of people don't think anyone is listening. Many have called, written and otherwise voiced their opinions. If you had the opportunity to tell Washington what you thought but had to do it in one sentence, what would it be? The current immigration bill might be my item of ire, but I bet you'll surprise me with your thoughts tonight at 10 (ET) / 7 (PT).
TUESDAY JUNE 5, 2007 2:10 AM (MT) Americans say they want change but will they vote for it? The real question is: Will they ever hear there is an option? We'll talk to a third party candidate about that fight-- how to get nominated in the party, and how to get the press to pay attention. Often the question is, is it better to be made a laughing stock, or better to be ignored? It's better to be taken seriously but is it possible? We need alternatives, find out if Christine Smith is one of them tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT. Check out her sites here and here.
MONDAY JUNE 4, 2007 12:30 AM (PT) Patriot Act, Real ID, loss of data.. still think you have any privacy left? Heard about the mobile x-ray machine in a truck that can be driven down a street reporting what's in your car, on your person or in your house? Not a joke-- on sale now. Find out who's buying. And speaking of buying, bought anything online lately? There's one item that comes encoded with your personal information hidden in it. Find out what it is, tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT.
MAY 2007
MONDAY MAY 31, 2007 12:45 AM (MT) There's been a lot of talk about the immigrant now forcibly quarantined in the US with TB. The CDC says it's the first such quarantine here since 1963. Oh really? Haven't they heard about the guy in Arizona, quarantined with TB in April-- for life because he's non-compliant? Same strain? Yes, XDR-TB. How did he slip through the cracks? I think I have an idea. Are there more? I don't have a clue. We'll talk about all the implications of both cases tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT.
WEDNESDAY MAY 30, 2007 12:30 AM (CT) Remember that story last year about a Halliburton subsidiary getting a contract to build what amounts to concentration camps in America. Meant for sudden immigration-- the kind we're trying to legalize now? Well, if it wasn't unsettling then, why not keep those plans in mind as we review Bush's latest directive-- the one that lets him be a virtual dictator in the event of any nebulous emergency without congressional approval or oversight. We'll tie it together tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT.
TUESDAY MAY 29, 2007 12:45 AM (MT) Yes, we made it back from vacation, and yes, our policy to be live on every holiday included Memorial Day. If you skipped last night's show, you missed the real deal of the immigration bill-- like how it creates a national ID card and other intrusive mechanisms aimed at you, the citizen. The provisions immediately legalizing illegals are bad enough, but the rules wiping out more of your privacy are a double slap in the face.
We also went over the LOST (Law of The Seas Treaty). Bush is pushing for it strongly now. And it wipes out our sovereignty in many dangerous ways. I'll spare you the details if you don't care about sovereignty and leave you with this-- it also allows a foreign entity to directly tax you. Interested now? I'm sure a search will turn up all you need to know. Did I say "search"?...
Done any online searching? I bet you've used Google. And you're probably amazed at how much they know. But you'll be astonished at how much they know about you.. and they don't think they know enough-- right now they record all your searches, identify them to your computer and save them in a database for years. There's no reason to believe the information is confidential either. The price of those free online google searches-- your privacy. Details tonight at 10 (ET) / 7 (PT).
SATURDAY MAY 19, 2007 12:01 AM (MT)... We're officially on vacation now-- and what an interesting time to take it. See the entry below for links to your senators and reps and what I'd like you to tell them-- and please please please contact them. Even if you think it makes no difference, at least let congress know first hand that Americans are disgusted with their stance on illegal immigration. Thanks.
While I'm asking you to contact people, this pales by comparison, but when it's a favorite TV show being cancelled, it might mean something to you. I've never seen it (because I'm on the air talking to you) but those who have say Jericho is great. It's the story of a post nuclear terror attack on US soil and how people deal with it. And CBS apparently doesn't realize you love it. So if you do, let them know. Check out savejericho.info and jericholives.com and cbs's Jericho site too. And if you want to snail mail, write to Kelly Kahl, CBS Television, 51 W. 52nd St., NY, NY 10019.
If you're eligible for online trivia, I went ahead and put a couple questions up under "She Said What" (click on it above left) for you to tackle in my absense. And as for what I'm doing to entertain you while I'm gone...
MONDAY MAY 21, 2007: Larry Pratt from GOA, Gary Brugman who met the same fate as Ramos and Compean, and Bill Weaver from UT El Paso who really knows the Johnny Sutton saga inside and out.
TUESDAY MAY 22, 2007: Nonie Darwish-- an Egyptian national now living in America will spend three hours telling you things that will astound you-- particularly if you think the mid-east isn't become more radical by the day.
WEDNESDAY MAY 23, 2007: Jim Gilchrist from the Minutemen, Jerome Corsi, and the story of Casey, a 10 year old in the Houston area arrested on terrorism charges for goofing off in the school hallway.
THURSDAY MAY 24, 2007 Charlotte Iserbyt proves the Dumbing Down of America and Joe Loya, Ignacio Ramos' father in law tells you more about the Ramos and Compean horrors.
FRIDAY MAY 25, 2007 Steve Bryant, Tom Mabe and Lloyd Thaxton will be entertaining. And Monday Memorial Day-- I'll be back to talk to you live. In the meantime, keep reading below and please contact congress. Thanks again!
THURSDAY MAY 17, 2007 7:00 PM (PT) ...a day that hopefully won't go down in infamy. The senate has reached a compromise on an amnesty bill. Some will say it's not amnesty but what it is, is a way to legalize all the illegals here... a way to make chumps of everyone who followed the law and waited through our insane immigration system to be here legally... a way to forever change the composition of America and its voters.. a way to end America as you know it. And don't think I'm overstating that. This compromise has to win a senate vote, and then a house vote, so while it's awful news, this is no time to lick your wounds. You MUST contact your house and senate members, along with the White House. Yes, I know the White House wants this worse than a hungry dog wants a meaty bone. Contact them anway. Don't know how..
Here's all you need to know to contact your senators. You don't even have to know who they are.
Here's all you need to know to contact your representatives. All you need to know is your zip code.
And here's all the info for getting in touch with the White House.
CALL. CALL. CALL. Email too. Fax if you can. And above all, snail mail if at all possible. It may be too late for the senate on that, but if you do it now, your house rep will receive it. Did I mention CALL!
Tell them you do not want any compromise on illegal immmigrants. Tell them that immigration should be reformed into a fair and efficient system. But that must be done BEFORE any action is taken on illegals other than deportation. Tell them exactly you feel (and be polite-- anything else diminishes your message, no matter how strongly you feel) and let them know that you will never be able to support them or their candidacy if they vote for any concessions for illegals. Thank you.
THURSDAY MAY 17, 2007 2:25 AM (PT) A big welcome to Norfolk's 670 AM. It's great to be in the Tidewater market, resplendent with all sorts of radio history. Gene Loving on WGH radio.. who could forget the great Chesapeake Bay rowing contest? (Certainly not WGH's Larry O'Brien and Tom Scott-- and probably the Coast Guard)... or Gene's TV show with Dick Lamb 'Disco Ten' (on WAVY-TV 10 before anyone said 'disco')... Ambert Dial... WCMS' Sheriff Tex Davis' managing Gene Vincent (and all the Blue Caps, the drummer of which, Dickie Harrell is still in town)... and now me! among countless other luminaries I'm sure I'll mention as time goes on, yes, me! thanks to Brian Holland at WPMH 670 AM and WBVA 1450 AM both of which now carry the show.
Speaking of the show, here's what's on my mind for tonight: Let's suppose for a moment there are jobs that Americans won't do. Jobs that would go unfilled unless immigrants here illegally filled them. Suspend disbelief and go with me on that. What would they be? Low wage, menial backbreaking work? Boring, rote housekeeping chores? Maybe you can believe that. But police officer? According to the Santa Fe police department, the state of New Mexico needs to change the law so that they can hire Mexican citizens. Where this went wrong tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT.
WEDNESDAY MAY 16, 2007 2:30 AM (PT) Say you sneak into the country illegally and somehow get hired at a defense contractor along with 360 of your closest illegal friends. Now say this contractor gets raided and you get caught. Do you have the nerve to admit you're further abusing the system by putting your kids in public school? Yup, and you get sympathy for your stranded children when you can't pick them up because you're on your way to a detention camp. You complain that 's too far from your new illegal home, and things are happening too fast. And then you get a class action suit going against your employer because they didn't treat you well enough. Americans should get a class action suit against the employer-- for hiring illegals in the first place. Instead several groups are backing these people. Outrage tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT.
TUESDAY MAY 15, 2007 1:45 AM (PT) There's a change in America nobody would have predicted. Americans are moving out of coastal cities. LA, New York, Miami among them. San Fransisco lost 10% of it's American population since 2000. But don't look for vacancy signs. Immigrants have moved in . The result is a class distinction usually reserved for places like Mexico City. No wonder immigrants want citizenship. But where are Americans going and what's happening to politics because of the shift? A lot of immigrant supporters will be surprised at this answer. Hear it tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT.
We talked to Joe Loya last night. He's Ignacio Ramos' father in law, a tireless fighter for Ramos, Compean and every American endangered by our justice system. You can keep up with Naci's fight for real justice at agentramos.com. You can also donate to the fund to free him and restore our sovereignty. Mail your contributions to Monica Ramos, Box 972925, El Paso, TX 79997. And speaking of mail, Naci would love to hear from you. You can write him directly: Ignacio Ramos #580079-180, FCI Yazoo City Medium Federal Corrections, PO Box 5888, Yazoo City, MS 39194.
MONDAY MAY 14, 2007 3:31 AM (PT) Other governments have blocked citizen's access to a number of internet sites. So it's reasonable to wonder whether the USA will be far behind. But while we' worry about that, we're missing a much bigger threat. There's a debate about it going on right now in congress, and the outcome could end your ability to have a viable website, stop independents from providing online access to it, and end the net as you know it. Unexaggerated details tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT.
FRIDAY MAY 11, 2007 6:45 PM (PT) We'll be talking with Claude Hall in a few minutes. I've listed links to his books which are worth the read, but if you're a radio person missing his work in VoxJox, you'll get your fill (along with a lot of other info and online novels) by going to ClaudeHallOnline.com Check it out!
FRIDAY MAY 11, 2007 12:01 AM (PT) Very sad news. Radio legend Chuck Riley passed away yesterday. Some of you remember him as Chuck Dann from KOMA in Oklahoma City to WKYC in Cleveland. (In fact it was at KOMA that Chuck gave a young Art Ferguson his air name-- Charlie Tuna.) Others recall his work at WIBC in Indianapolis, or his voicing of CHUM's wonderful rock and roll documentary "The Evolution of Rock." Everybody knows him from his voiceover work: movie trailers, network promos and countless commercials.
Chuck was my closest friend when I worked at WIBC. It got to the point that the general manager banned us from being in the station at the same time, which was just as well since Chuck was entirely capable of creating havoc without me. Here's one example. Chuck did afternoons, and winter was perfect for him. Covered in snow, the station lawn at 2835 N. Illinois was the cooler for his "show prep"-- which was usually supplied by Johnny Walker Black.
But Chuck couldn't always find his stash, so the number of bottles mounted as winter went on. This was our little-not-so secret-- until the unseasonably warm weather melted the snow one afternoon while he was on the air. It never occurred to him to send someone out to retrieve his inspiration, and following the edict, I wasn't there-- so you can envision what greeted Mayor Hudnet when he drove by. The resulting mayoral call (paraphrasing now) 'Is this the home of 50,000 watts or winos?' still makes me smile.
I could fill pages of Chuck Riley stories, but so could anyone who knew him. He could light up a room with the twinkle in his eye. Always the life of the party, and forever capable of putting a smile on anyone's face, the sad truth is Chuck was rarely smiling inside. I'm inconsolable tonight yet finding some comfort in knowing he's in a place that's finally bringing him the happiness that he brought to everyone but himself while he was here. For some time now, I had 'Call Chuck' on my to-do list. Now it will be a really long distance call. I meant to do it, but life got in the way. That's my loss. Don't let that happen to you. Call someone you love right now.
We'll talk to Claude Hall tonight. If you were in radio in the '60s or '70s, it's a sure bet you know who that is. And a good chance you were to do whatever it took to have him write about you in Vox Jox. Claude was radio editor at Billboard before me, but Vox Jox predates both of us. Jerry Wexler from Atlantic Records named the column in the '40s, but it wasn't until Claude took over that it became the column to read. After Claude left, the column reverted to obscurity and I was hired to resurrect it. "This is like the old Claude Hall days" was one of my favorite compliments.
We'll talk about those days, as well as Claude's latest novels, "Huecos" and "Down on the Corner of Earth" which are both worth the read. Click on either title for a great price from Amazon. And if you remember Claude's "This Business of Radio Programming" you probably want a copy of that too, if for nothing else than the great interviews in the back. It's a mainstay on my bookshelf, and you can get one for yourself right here. Trivia? You bet. The second and third hours. Looking forward to it! Talk to you then.
THURSDAY MAY 10, 2007 12:45 AM (PT) Another answer and a lot more questions in the wheat gluten story. Now we find it wasn't gluten at all, but ordinary flour spiked with melamine and more. We'll talk about the "more". But the really scary part is anyone doing any due diligence should have known what was going on. Not only did we not test anything and not only were the scores of people harmed over many years in China vocal about it, but experts say it was obvious to anyone in the business what was going on. Why we didn't know, tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT.
WEDNESDAY MAY 9, 2007 12:30 AM (PT) Have you heard that pigs are dying in China? Lots of pigs? No? That's just thew ay they want it. They promised disclosure after hiding bird flu four over 4 months. But now, hundreds of pigs have bled out from hemorrhagic fever, they're not talking and people are panicked. Now here's the best part. Experts do not know what is causing this, but they've stated it can not affect humans. If you don't know what it is, how can you know what it won't do? Standard China. Our trading partner bringing us ingestibles that we do not test. Our insanity tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT.
TUESDAY MAY 8, 2007 12:30 AM (MT) Why did conservatives kill Hillary's health care? Besides the obvious-- is the fact that big business was against it. Their most important constituency weighed in along with core voters and we averted a fine mess. What's different now? Big business is backing universal health care. General Mills, Pepsi, Safeway and 33 others are pushing for it. Add them to insurance companies and politicians of all stripes and we have the prescription for disaster. Details tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT.
Still time to get your phone calls in for the craziest thing your mother ever did. You might win Barefoot and Pregnant bear. Tell us about it tonight, and if you're looking for a great Mother's Day gift, order one now at VermontTeddyBear.com.
MONDAY MAY 7, 2007 1:00 AM (MT) Concerns over trade agreements used to be about money, even jobs. More recently it's been about sovereignty. But now it's about survival. Not the republics-- ours. First it was pet food. Then we're told of problems in our food supply thanks to chickens and pigs. Now comes word of tainted medicine. There's a lethal loophole that's already killed our self-sufficiency but now it's killing us. Find out how this is happening and what we must get the government to do tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT. Trivia questions are up under "She Said What". And if you were wondering about Friday night's stumpers, the answers are there too.
FRIDAY MAY 4, 2007 2:01 AM (MT) The second half of our conversation with Lloyd Thaxton airs tonight. Last week XM aired a rerun due to technical difficulties with their receiver, so you might have missed part one. But if you didn't miss the 1960s, chances are you'll remember Lloyd and have been missing his show ever since. It was the highest rated music TV show in the '60s and for good reason. Much more than a teen dance show, Lloyd was truly a master at broadening it's appeal. Changing times, and the constant desire of management and sponsors to mess with success led to it's end in 1968. What happened then is a story you won't want to miss. You can check out Lloyd's blogspot here, and definitely check him out tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT. After that, we'll play trivia. Already picked out the questions, but of course you can request any category you like. Find out more tonight.
A lot of you are supportive of the mayor of Hazleton, PA who has taken it upon himself to mitigate the problem of illegal immigration. Hazleton made national news when the landlord policy requiring immigration status checks before renting a dwelling was passed. Most of us applauded it. As you can guess, the ACLU didn't. And now their legal locusts have descended. You can help the city by donating to their legal fund. Click here for more info.
THURSDAY MAY 3, 2007 1:45 AM (PT) A bill came out of committee and is scheduled for a vote in congress imminently. No one is reporting on it, but the bottom line to this hate crimes bill is that it criminalizes thought-- and religion. In fact an amendment exempting bible passages from prosecution was voted down. Similar legislation on the local and state level has already sent church going grandmothers to jail. It's not about crime prevention-- it's freedom of speech, religion and thought prevention. Find out how to stop it tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT.
WEDNESDAY MAY 2, 2007 2:05 AM (MT) I'm always asking you to contact your representatives over a variety of issues which could be seen as quite controversial by some. Now I'm asking you to do it over something I think we'll all agree is positive. There's a bill out in the US House of Representatives right now-- H Res. 296. You can read about it here. John Larson, a democrat from Connecticut has introduced it. As yet it has no co-sponsors.
It would simply create a National Eosinophil Awareness Week. That may sound like fluff, but its passage is crucial to the funding of the research leading to a cure for eosinophilic disorders. You might not even know how to pronounce that, let alone know someone affected by the condition, but it's part of the broad spectrum of auto-immune disorders, and there's no one on the planet who doesn't know someone affected by one of them. A cure for any, will lead to a cure for all. And right now, medical science is at best mystified. (I always complain that they call it the practice of medicine because they're still practicing-- on me.)
One of my phone guys, Ira, has two kids directly affected by this, so he's got a very personal stake in asking for your help. Since the bill has been introduced and will be referred to committee, at this point it needs some co-sponsors to get legs. There should be no downside for a representative tacking his name on to this, republican or democrat. In fact, it's the kind of feel-good thing most will be graciously willing to do. But they probably need constituents to ask them to do it.
So please contact your US rep and ask him or her to cosponsor H Res. 296. Don't know who your US rep is? Click here and enter your 9 digit zip code. Don't know you're 9 digit zip code? Click here, and assuming you know your address, the USPS site will spit it out for you. Thanks for your help.
WEDNESDAY MAY 2, 2007 12:55 AM (MT) Government logic-- when a gunman kills people in a gun controlled zone, where none are allowed, politicians call for more gun control. We'll talk to Larry Pratt from Gun Owners of America about that lack of rationale. Check out his site here. We'll also look at the report that Americans have eaten 3 million chickens, which were fed the pet killing melamine-- but since we can't trace them, or have any idea what threat it might pose, the government says don't worry- probably because they can't tie in a liberty losing program to already eaten poultry. And there's more-- tonight at 10.
TUESDAY MAY 1, 2007 1:45 AM (PT) MAYDAY MAYDAY. I think you'll find the communist holiday is relatively calm this year, but let's see if illegals protesting garner more news coverage than the talk show hosts against them did last week in Washington. Actually I think you can bet on it. You won't hear much about this, but the Mexican truck pilot program is starting in days. The government has heard all your concerns, and ignored them. They state it a bit differently though. And they assure you it's only a one year test, after which time they'll evaluate the results. You won't believe the criteria-- more like criterium, as it's judged on only one thing. Find out what it is. And hear from Minuteman Project founder Jim Gilchrist who will tell you what's really going on at the border tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT.
APRIL 2007
MONDAY APRIL 30, 2007 12:01 AM (MT) So many things to discuss-- none of them good but a few are hilarious. Then there's this: When thinking of the Salvation Army, most people view them as an organization out to help people. From any walk of life, and any region of the planet, the downtrodden and others have a chance at a new life. And so the Salvation Army's requirement that workers become fluent in English over a year's time and speak it solely at work, fits in perfectly, doesn't it? Not if you're the Federal Government who is suing saying that speaking English can not be a workplace requirement. Que pasa with that on the tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT.
We've still got out PajamaGram contest going on. Tell me the most stress that little angelic you caused mama, and you might win her a PajamaGram-- which makes a great Mother's Day present. Check them out for yourself here, and call in tonight and tomorrow night at 888-876-5593.
FRIDAY APRIL 27, 2007 1:50 AM (MT) Quick-- what was the highest rated music TV show in the '60s, nationally? If you said American Bandstand, you'd be wrong. It's not trivia starting early-- we'll do that in our second and third hours-- but first we'll spend an hour with the answer to that question, Lloyd Thaxton. Chances are you remember Lloyd, but if you don't or if you haven't thought about him in years, check out his blog here. And listen tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT.
Thanks to Lane Quigley for suggesting we have Lloyd join us. There's a lot more to his story than a face on the screen or behind the camera. You're going to hear something that may well make a difference in your life (which has nothing to do with music or TV) and you'll also hear some great behind the scene stories which will mean nothing more than a good time on the radio. Talk to you-- and Lloyd tonight!
THURSDAY APRIL 26, 2007 12:15 AM (PT) This past week there's been a rally in DC. Maybe you heard about it from a talk show host who was there. You certainly didn't see it on major media news. Now had this been a pro-illegal alien rally, it would have been blanketed everywhere. There was a truck rally too. And that got no coverage. But then again, it got no traction since the police effectively stopped people from their constitutional right to protest. What happened, tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT.
The organizer of the truck rally is Wanda Piety. You probably heard Frosty Woolridge and I talk about it last week. Wanda joins me tonight to tell you the rest of the story and what's planned for the future. Check out saveamericafund.org.
And while I'm giving you links, don't forget to visit Peter Chowka's site, chowka.com. Peter is the top investigative journalist when it comes to alternative medicine, and as we were discussing on the air, most alternative practioners have sold out. Some for the money-- the government will include them in their programs. Some for the ego-- the government is finally recognizing them. And then there's the sorry truth that many of them are socialists at heart so the thought of government health care resonates in their dark little hearts.
Whatever, the bottom line is the government wants to sweep alternative medicine into the program that will provide cradle to grave care for all. What that means, is that they'll control the whole pot and decide what you will get and when you will get it, if you will get it. Your right to choose your choice of health care will be drastically limited, and the alternative medicine field which once was up in arms is now largely on board. And then there's the infighting among alt. med. folks, which in part is what led to the disinformation that's been circulating. When you read the next entry, don't fret it. It's not imminent after all. Incrementalism works much more effectively.
Real bottom line is the price you will pay will not be measured in dollars. The currency will be your freedom of health care decisions, which is more than anybody should have to bear. Don't believe it? Look what the government is already doing when it comes to children. Parents are not allowed free choice. And look what the results of disallowed Medicare proceedures yield. You think it will be different when everyone is in the system? You might be right. It will be worse.
WEDNESDAY APRIL 25, 2007 1:30 AM (PT) When something clearly doesn't work, and is a repeated failure, what do you do? Rational people would say, stop doing it. The government on the other hand has a track record of doing more of it. Case in point, the FDA, which has approved countless products later recalled-- an agency which actually tests what? Based on pet food, nothing. Now this agency wants to protect you from your right to vitamins and supplements-- again. And if you don't do something now, they'll succeed. Details tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT.
TUESDAY APRIL 24, 2007 1:05 AM (PT) Exactly why are Americans trading with a country known for food-- to put it politely-- irregularities... a country that denies us the right to investigate the facilities of a company there after our pets are poisoned.. that company denying they even manufacture the product that the American distributor has been buying from them for years? in other words, we import food from a country that deceives us about what's in it and then denies us the right to investigate after deaths occur. The real trade imbalance tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT.
MONDAY APRIL 23, 2007 12:45 AM (CT) Forgot to pass this along. Addresses to write Ramos and Compean. Bob, a retired border patrol agent, has been writing and recently got a reply from Ignacio. That means they actually get the mail. And I bet they'd love to hear you're supporting them. Pass along my support too. Thanks:

MONDAY APRIL 23, 2007 12:01 AM (CT) When gunfire breaks out on a college campus, American's are rightfully shocked and fearful. But they don't seem to notice a chronic problem that should cause concern-- incendiary political rhetoric from professors. One in Idaho suggested all republicans be shot. You've heard about others. But most of the time you hear nothing at all. Find out what's really happening in college classrooms when recent Harvard Law grad Ben Shapiro joins me tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT.
We'll also keep you up to date on the Washington rally of talk show hosts and truckers-- and anyone aghast at our immigration stance. Speaking of aghast-- the pet food controversy continues with reason to believe that the Chinese companies intentionally put the melamine in the food-- but we don't know for sure, since China has blocked our access to investigate it. The horror of our trade policies start to finish will come up no doubt.
Meanwhile, trivia fans-- email questions are up. Click on 'She Said What' to your left for more info. And while you're clicking, don't forget HitParadeHallofFame.org where your vote for popular music does count, and where history is not being rewritten. John Rook talked with us about it on Friday, and if you haven't checked it out yet, please do.
FRIDAY APRIL 20, 2007 12:15 AM (CT) I bet you know something that most people don't. Everyone can say yes to that. And I'm ready to make it worth your while. Maybe you know all about wrestling, or muscle cars or the bible? baseball? or something all your friends are sick of you discussing? Pick your category-- or answer a question I throw out. Guess right and win a prize. Or just listen to other people guess wrong and feel superior. it's all the fun of Trivia tonight 10 ET / 7 PT.
THURSDAY APRIL 19, 2007 1:00 AM (PT) A big welcome to our newest affiliate WAUD 1230 AM in Auburn, Alabama. Check out their site here! Meanwhile, it's April 19th. Anniversary of the start of the American Revolution and Civil War, the loss of the gold standard, mass murder at Oklahoma City and Waco-- and more. We'll review it all and add to it the aftermath of V-Tech where the loudest reaction would be comical if it weren't so misguided. Why gun control can't work, not matter how hard you try. And Frosty Woolridge unveils what you can do about our open border, all tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT.
WEDNESDAY APRIL 18, 2007 12:15 AM (CT) Ever wonder the difference between winners and losers-- why someone gets ahead when seemingly everyone else fails. Losers will tell you it's because those winners are unethical somehow. They blame others for their failure, and in extreme cases will act as the shooter did at Virginia Tech. We've talked about the only protection from such lunatics. But how many people not prone to killing unwittingly embrace the loser philosophy. Find out if that's you tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT.
Personal integrity is the subject of John Wesley Downey's book Redhanded, and it's never been more timely. You can find out about it here. We'll talk about it-- and since John is from Houston we'll bring up 10 year old Casey, the kid the DA is going to prosecute to the fullest extent of the law for pulling the cover off a fire alarm. Originally threatened with being charged as a terrorist his felony is now a misdemeanor--and his "crime" has been proven to be the work of a teacher, but nonetheless Casey's trial starts next month. Yes society has gone mad. But as in Redhanded, you can carve out a sane domain of integrity for yourself.
TGUESDAY APRIL 17, 2007 12:01 AM (CT) If you feel like that camel waiting for the proverbial last straw, I've got a fine safety valve. It won't bring world peace, solve the riddle of how people can call for more gun control after a mass shooting at a mandatory gun free school done by someone not carrying legally, or unravel the truth behind our open borders-- but it will make you feel better. Tom Mabe demonstrates how to take control and get even with telemarketers, and a few politicians too tonight at 10 (ET) / 7 (PT). If you want to hear some very funny stuff before the show, check out Tom's site here.
Lot's more to say on V-Tech too as theories abound but again, of what we can be sure, keep reading.
MONDAY APRIL 16, 2007 6:45 PM (MT)Needless to say, we'll talk about the rampage at Virginia Tech. A lot isn't known at this point but two things are clearly apparent. One is that these 'gun free zones' are a joke. More guns will always equal less crime and you can bet that most of the victims would still be here right now if teachers, for instance, were armed. It's also historically the case that gunmen do not attempt such things when they are aware that people are likely to be armed. 'Gun free zone' or similar verbage tells a shooter he or she can act without immediate consequence.
The other is yet one more reminder that in the years since 9-11, all the plans to have specific disaster reactions firmly in place are an equal joke. No one is emotionally prepared for these instances, but there's no reason that they aren't bureaucratically prepared. Answers to questions like when to notify the student body or how to secure the area should be ingrained in everyone in a position of authority. This sad occurrence is made moreso by the glaring proof that they're not-- there is no plan that matters. And that should be a priority everywhere.
Meanwhile, on a happier note, Tamara Wilhite is at it again. She's written another futuristic short story (the link to her last one, "Natural Talent" is under Sunday's entry). This one is called Geronimo Redeux. And it's also just 49 cents. So if you're worried about how bad it might get, this will fuel all your fears in a fun read. Click here to get a copy.
MONDAY APRIL 16, 2007 1:10 AM (MT) When a six year old girl has a tantrum in school, what should a teacher do? I bet no where on the list is call the police. But the Avon Park, Florida, school did that. Now what do you expect the police to do? I bet no where on that list is arrest the kid for a felony. Hear details like where they had to put the handcuffs on her, and the chief of police's answer to angry questions "Do you think this is the first six year old we've arrested." That would be yes, but the truth is no. Hear it tonight at 10 (ET) / 7 (PT).
In other news, turns out you don't have to file your taxes today. Don't get all excited. You've got to file them tomorrow. The deadline was moved a day after the IRS discovered that Monday the 16th is a holiday in DC. Even though it's not national, it counts (since so much of the IRS is in DC). So if you want to procrastinate, you've got an extra 24 hours to do so. Spend it wisely.
SUNDAY APRIL 15, 2007 2:15 AM (MT) Looking forward to the day we can forever banish income tax and declare April 15th a national holiday. All you get this year is a one day reprieve. If you haven't filed anything yet (like an extension), you've got until tomorrow night.
I'm always willing to plug the efforts of listeners. Most of you guys put me to shame in the ambition department. Tamara Wilhite is a fine example. She's written a few science fiction chillers that will really have you questioning where technology is leading us (and it probably is leading us). Her latest is a short story, "Natural Talent" downloadable for 49 cents. Click here and check it out!
FRIDAY APRIL 13, 2007 11:00 PM (PT) Email questions are up for those qualified to play trivia online. Click on "She Said What" to your left and good luck. Have a fine weekend. I'll be back before Monday night's show to type to you again.
THURSDAY APRIL 12, 2007 12:50 AM (MT) You've probably thought there's got to be a place to live where liberty still exists. Maybe a better country, but you're thinking it probably has to be another planet. Maybe not. How about another life? That, you might be able to do. (And I'm not talking identity theft here.) Dr. Bruce Goldberg says it's easier than you think to switch tracks to another life. You gotta hear this, tonight at 10 ET/ 7 PT.
And if you'd like to know more before we talk about it, check out www.drbrucegoldberg.com. (I'm not talking about a future life, or a past life, by the way-- this is a plan to change the one you're living now. I've got a lot of questions about how that works, and he'll have a lot of answers, but seeing how things are politically right now, it's an option worth exploring.)
WEDNESDAY APRIL 11, 2007 12:01 AM (MT) People often debate the cost of cheap labor. And it's often said that price is what you pay but value is what you get. In other words, cheap labor produces less than quality results. Does it? Oh, never mind that question, let's get back to cost. You know all those things legal employees get-- like health care? Well illegals get 'em too, but not from their employer. From you, the taxpayer. What's it cost? Try 2.2 trillion dollars. How it's come to this tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT.
TUESDAY APRIL 10, 2007 1:05 AM (MT) What happens to 10 year olds goofing off in school? In Harris County Texas they're arrested for making terrorist threats. What on earth did the kid do? Virtually nothing. And what they say he did, they now admit was actually inadvertently done by office staff at the school. Nevertheless the kid will stand trial-- jury trial, having been fingerprinted, interrogated, and asked to sign a confession before his parents were even notified. Not outraged yet? You will be tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT.
In case you want to do a little reading before hearing from Casey's mom, click here and read his story. ( Then go back to the home page, or click on a link to see what you can do.) Thanks.
SUNDAY APRIL 8, 2007 9:50 PM (MT) As more people realize that guns do not jump off shelves and kill people, politicians are looking for other things to blame when their cities see a rise in homicides. Take Philadelphia's mayor, who dropped the gun blame in favor of denial. The ole 'In comparison things aren't so bad'. When it was pointed out that, that the comparison would have to include Bagdad, he decided the problem was.... global warming. Before you start laughing, he's not alone in this excuse. And those offering it are speaking with a straighit face. Absolute insanity tomorrow night at 10 ET / 7 PT.
SUNDAY APRIL 8, 2007 3:30 PM (PT) Happy Easter! (And Passover too.) Email questions are up. Click on "She Said What" to your left, if you qualify. Good luck. I'll be back later tonight to type to you.
THURSDAY APRIL 5, 2007 2:45 AM (PT) You've likely heard that England almost prides itself on being called the surveillance state. Cameras spying on subjects every move. But now that spying will not be restricted to people, as new powers to the pet police go into effect today. Among the usual, you can't own a pet, rather you adopt a companion animal is this gem-- dog overweight? First you get a warning and if fido doesn't slim down, you go to jail. Then there's the socialization requirement. Insanity tonight at 10 ET/ 7 PT.
WEDNESDAY APRIL 4, 2007 11:45 PM (MT) Let's say you enter America illegally. You're pulled over for a routine traffic stop. When you realize the cop has figured out that you also stole the vehicle you're currently driving, you speed away. The cop will try to stop you. But what happens if he doesn't. ?You might think you'll just go back across the border. But that would only be half right. You'll also collect $100,000 from America for your inconvenience. How this works tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT.
TUESDAY APRIL 3, 2007 1:30 AM (PT) Scientists have been fired for pointing out that the global warming hysteria has no basis in fact. So it probably shouldn't come as a surprise that while reams of historical climate data all dispute the seemingly indisputable, one federal judge is buying into it wholeheartedly. He's claiming that the effect of greenhouse gasses is indisputable, and he's citing Al Gore's movie as a source. This would be funny if he didn't just rule to advance a nutso lawsuit. Alarm tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT.
MONDAY APRIL 2, 2007 1:50 AM (PT) Sadly it wasn't an April fool's joke. WBUV 104.9 in Biloxi no longer carries the show. If you're one of the many folks who caught the show locally on the Gulf Coast, thanks for your past listening and calls. It was great to have you with us. My prayers continue for an end to the Katrina aftermath.
If you'd like to continue to listen, there are a few options. One is to listen online. Click on the tower to your above left and you'll find out more about that. Another is to subscribe to XM. We're live on 165 weeknights from 9 to Midnight (CT) and replayed all night on 152. (We're also replayed on the weekends on both of them.) Finally, if there's another local station you enjoy hearing, feel free to suggest they carry the show. It's free to affiliates!
Meanwhile, for anyone who still believes the government is your friend, and that agencies like the FDA can and will protect the citizens, have I got news for you. You've heard about the pet food recall. Have you heard that the tainted additive is of food grade-- meaning it might be in your food? Did you know the FDA knows exactly who the US supplier of the Chinese wheat gluten is, and they refuse to let you know? What they're hiding, tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT.
MARCH 2007
SATURDAY MARCH 31,2007 11:50 PM (PT) Email questions are up under "She Said What" to your left. Good luck to those of you who qualify to play. Hope your Palm Sunday will be a good one. I'll be back to type to you her before Monday's show.
FRIDAY MARCH 30, 2007 12:15 AM (CT) Trivia tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT. Talk to you then!
THURSDAY MARCH 29, 2007 Midnight (PT) Mexico has a crime problem. And a gun problem. A big gun problem, and a bigger crime problem. So what's new, you ask? The cause. According to the Mexican government, we're to blame. The USA. They're not saying we're the reason crime is rampant, they're just blaming us for the guns, assorted weapons, and cash to fund violence, drug and otherwise. It's all our fault because we don't properly police their border. Get a load of this, tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT.
We'll also get into debt and inflation, and a sinister plan that could easily bring about widespread government control. The fix is in and I'll prove it tonight.
These days, it's amazingly easy to bring you the information you're not hearing through major media. And of course the big mystery is why you're not hearing it there. I can't solve that one, but as for filling in the blanks, it's a breeze thanks to the internet. From wonderful commercial sites like Joe Farah's www.wnd.com to amazing host sites like Alex Jones' www.infowars.com, or the tireless effort of patriots like June Maxam at www.northcountrygazette.org, it's all there.
A lot of work goes into these efforts. And their greatest glory occurs when someone unconnected to media or news dissemination awakens and wants to spread the word. When that happens, I'm humbled by their efforts. Individuals who are getting nothing personally from what amounts to a huge labor, strive to bring you their take on the world with the only thanks being the promise of the awakening of a few more souls as a result of their efforts. That kind of purity of intent deserves a hearty thanks from me, and hopefully a glance from you.
Larry is one of those souls. A former republican, good Christian college grad who believed what he was told, Larry awakened after 9-11 sensing something just wasn't right. The disconnect between the official line and what he saw as the likely reality started him on a path that has led to a blog you can read here. But it's a lot more than a blog. It's a compendium and he isn't done. His offline efforts rival his online presence.
I mention this because most of us can't find the time to write a letter to a representative. Larry will put us to shame-- but it's not his goal. He'd like to have you inspired to share the truth with others. The only hope we have of returning to the constitution, liberty and freedom that was the promise for one and all in America is through the continual presence of sufficient numbers of citizens throughout the process.
Maybe it starts with you joining OOIDA (if you're a commercial driver). Maybe it's as simple as dropping your AARP membership if you disagree with their political lobbying and only belong for a few discounts. Maybe it's being aware of what congress is trying to pass at any time, and supporting or decrying those efforts by contacting lawmakers and 'giving them a piece of your mind' (politely of course). But if all you do is awaken your own consciousness, it won't be long before you feel the need to spread the word. And that's how we'll prevail in at least changing the timetable of what's coming for America. One person at a time.
Larry's showing you the way-- and not necessarily through the words on his site. The real demonstration is his obvious desire to make a difference by spreading those words and the effort he's putting out to do so. It could be that you'll find something he's written with which you disagree completely. If so, let me ask you-- when are you going to start your own site, representing your viewpoint? And if that's too much, when are you going to troll on line for sites with which you resonate-- sites that give you information you're not finding elsewhere? You read this site, so you're probably of the mind to websurf, but if not, take Larry's lead and if you can't write, at least read. Thanks. (And Larry, thanks for doing what it takes to further the discussion.)
WEDNESDAY MARCH 28, 2007 1:45 AM (PT) England seems to be taking it's position as the 'surveillance state' very seriously. Security cameras, sensors, DNA databases. Many countries dream of a DNA database that would track criminals, but England is taking it a step further. Seeing a correlation, for instance, between criminal or drug using parents and their children, they want to start early. In the cradle. Babies would be targeted for intrusive state home visits for starters. Find out how it finishes, tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT.
TUESDAY MARCH 27, 2007 12:30 AM (MT) So you're wondering why we zealously prosecute border patrol agents and cops trying to stem the tide of illegal immigration, and then give a free pass with immunity and health care to known drug dealers? What if I told you I may have stumbled on the reason? And what if there was a quid pro quo that would blow your mind? And what if it was not based on the drug war at all, but in fact something that so frightens our government that they won't tell you what's gone down? Have I got a story for you, tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT.
MONDAY MARCH 26, 2007 12:15 AM (MT) The news is out-- the pet food contamination stems from wheat imported from China. That raises more questions than it answers. This stuff is made in the US for a Canadian company. Exactly why is north America in need of Chinese wheat? If ya can't answer that, can you tell me why one California school district thinks the only way to solve it's teacher crisis is by hiring Mexicans? That and a lot more tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT.
Does it make you mad as hell? Well put it into verse. The Mad As Hell lyrics contest wants your beef and the winner will see his gripe incorporated into the song by Stephen Foster & Howler. Send your attempts to lyrics@madashellcontest.com.
SATURDAY MARCH 24, 2007 10:50 PM (MT) Should you be eligible, trivia questions are up under "She Said What" to your left. Check it out, and I'll be back before the weekend's over to tell you what's on tap for Monday.
THURSDAY MARCH 22, 2007 1:00 AM (PT) Many people are still not convinced that the plan is to tear down the US borders by forming a North American Union between us, Mexico and Canada. Afterall, it sounds farfetched. Maybe you've heard about the Security and Prosperity Partnership-- but that was just a meeting between the presidents of the three countries talking about mutual interest, right? Wrong. Hear the memo from the DHS signed by Michael Chertoff himself outlining the plan tonight at 10 (ET) /7 (PT).
WEDNESDAY MARCH 21, 2007 IT'S SPRING! 2:10 AM (PT) What's the greatest threat to freedom? The biggest adversary of liberty, free market economy, and prosperity? You might say Communism and the head of the Czech republic would agree with you-- and then he'd tell you that today's communism, in is environmentalism and he warns it's not about a clash of views over weather, but a clash of views about human freedom. Why Al Gore is a dangerous fraud, timely isn't it-- as before he even testifies today he's already broken a few Senate rules. Hear all and weep, tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT.
TUESDAY MARCH 20, 2007 12:30 AM (PT) You've probably heard all the details of the railroading of border patrol agents Ramos & Compean... the horror of evidence withheld, the charges not remotely related to the incident, the court rulings stopping anything resembling justice. And you may have heard that the exact same thing has happened to others. Now you'll hear from one of those "others". Gary Brugman, former border patrol agent turned convict for doing his job joins me tonight at 10 (ET) / 7 (PT).
SUNDAY MARCH 18, 2007 11:00 PM (MT) You're told by the government that you should report suspicious activity you see that you think might be terrorist related. Of course you can't know for sure, so do you say anything? Well in the case of a group of passengers on an airliner, they erred on the side of caution. A number of things they witnessed were alarming. Now it looks like they'll be sued for their efforts. Had the suspicious group been terrorists, they might have been arrested if they didn't report it.. How you can't win, and why America's tomorrow night at 10 (ET) / 7 (PT). Can't hear Friday night trivia live? Click on "She Said What" to your left and answer online. This week's questions are up.
FRIDAY MARCH 16, 2007 7:00 PM (PT) About to get on with trivia, but first we'll talk to Stephen Foster from Howler (you read about him in the entry just below this one. I wanted to alert you to the "Mad As Hell" contest. Based on his song "Mad As Hell", he's asking you to submit your own lyrics. What is it that's driving you crazy? Send your thoughts to lyrics@madashellcontest.com but first listen to "Mad As Hell" here.
THURSDAY MARCH 15, 2007 6:50 PM (PT) If you're into blues, R&B, and all things Southern Music, then you'll like Stephen Foster & Howler. Stephen's and the band's resumes are beyond impressive, sharing the stage with the likes of everyone from Lynyrd Skynyrd and Percy Sledge to the 5th Dimension!-- among many many more. And money from the downloads on "Changing Times" from their current CD will go to Doctors Without Borders. But right now you can get 'em free here, so don't wait. Other links? Sure. Here, Here, Here, Here and Here. Check 'em out! Anyone mentioning "Wet Willie" as an influence, is fine by me. Plus Jerry Carrigan and Henry Strzelecki vouch for 'em and it doesn't get better than that.
THURSDAY MARCH 15, 2007 2:30 AM (PT) So yesterday it was one school having kids sign a confidentiality agreement so they won't tell their parents what they learned in sex ed, in that case homosex ed. Today it's a school banning parents from on campus discussions of how to know you're gay, where to meet up with others like you and what kind of sex to have. Then there's the judge who says parents have no right to take their kids out of these classes because the purpose of schools is to make them ready for society. Finding another planet, tonight at 10 (ET) / 7 (PT).
WEDNESDAY MARCH 14, 2007 1:00 AM (PT) The tide of illegal immigrants will not stop until America figures out how to curb the billions its citizens spend on illegal drugs. Nor will it stop until America gets serious about wanting to stop it, rather than engaging in business practices that encourage it. Sounds pretty logical-- and political. And yes those sentiments come from a politician. Tom Tancredo? No. Try the President. No not Bush. The president of Mexico. Why he's right about that, and where he's wrong, tonight at 10 (ET) / 7 (PT).
TUESDAY MARCH 13, 2007 12:10 AM (CT) When you discover that our government was paying and protecting an informer who they knew was killing people-- and you hear they knew beforehand and didn't stop it, and afterwards with full details and continued to use him, you start to wonder, what's going on here? And when someone blows the whistle and is demoted for bringing it up, well that's when you need a scorecard. Professor Bill Weaver of University of Texas, El Paso, will tally it all up on tonight at 10 (ET) /7 (PT).
MONDAY MARCH 12, 2007 12:30 AM (PDT) You did move your clocks up yesterday, didn't you? Good. Now as for other questions-- Are you one of those who thinks the Patriot Act was needed? You can't believe it was written after 9-11, can you? So you think it's only used in cases of suspected terrorism? Even, after the FBI admits thousands of transgressions? And you're sure the government wouldn't do anything they're not supposed to do? Well, not only do they, but wait until you hear how they justify it. So you think there's nothing wrong if you have nothing to hide? Why we have a constitution tonight at 10 (ET) / 7 (PT).
Trivia questions are up! If you're eligible, click on She Said What to your left-- and good luck!
THURSDAY MARCH 8, 2007 1:15 AM (MT) THE STREAM IS BACK!! Yes, the official live stream of The Rollye James Show lives! You can access it when we're broadcasting live (7-10PM Pacific Time Weeknights). Click on the tower to your left. Next project--- Podcasts. Working on that now, and hope to have them up in the next few weeks. Now as for tonight...potatoes genetically modified by Monsanto were fed to a group of hospital patients in Russia. Doctors were outraged. Using patients as lab rats. Some worried about the results. They assured them that changes in rats were all within permissible limits. When one doctor said not good enough, Monsanto replied they'd been safely fed to North Americans for years. What else you don't know you're eating-- tonight at 10 (ET) / 7 (PT)
WEDNESDAY MARCH 7, 2007 7:05 PM (PT) I'm testing the stream which seems to be holding. Assuming this will work, I'llbe able to archive soon. So if you wnat to check us out live, just click here, and report back. Feedback is welcome and necessary to the process. (You've got to be able to access .mp4 streams-- QuickTime preferred but absolutely not necessary. However Windows Media will not work. Real and others will, in addition to QuickTime, codec of choice.)
WEDNESDAY MARCH 7, 2007 12:40 AM (CT) (When the US government announced 100 Mexican trucking companies will soon have unlimited access to our roads, they included assurances that these trucks and drivers would be up to our standards. That would be true if we had no standards, but as it is, there will be a double standard, and it won't be pretty for commercial drivers or even American residents. The folks from OOIDA join me to try to sort it out tonight at 10 (ET)/7 (PT). If you're a trucker-- indy or company driver, local or over the road, you need to join OOIDA. No one else is fighting for your rights. They're doing a great job with 150,000 members-- lobbying congress, testifying in front of congress, fighting local restrictions, and more. But there voice would be undeniable with a million members. Be one of them. Commercial drivers who mention The Rollye James Show get an annual membership for $25. Join OOIDA now. Click here. Put Rollye James in the promo code line and $25 for the annual amount and your in! Thank you.
And no matter who you are, you can help those with MS. Autoimmune diseases are no picnic, and our friend Shawn McGuire knows first hand. But the State Farm agent from Spokane who is also on the Inland Northwest Multiple Sclerosis Board (and is a KGA listener) isn't sitting around fretting about his diagnosis. He's living a full life, keeping the condition in check and raising both awareness and funds through the annual MS Walk. Click here for his story, and a way to participate. Every autoimmune sufferer benefits (like me). Remember inroads on one autoimmune disorder benefits the quest for a cure on every other autoimmune disorder. So whether it's you or someone you love, someone in your life faces an autoimmune challenge-- MS, MG, RA, Lupus. Sjogren's, Uveitis, Hashimoto's, Raynaud's, Diabetes, Crohn's and many more-- and your donation will benefit all of them.
TUESDAY MARCH 7, 2007 1:00 AM (PT) HAPPY BIRTHDAY SEAN COMPTON! Sean is a Clear Channel exec who truly is the Patron Saint of The Rollye James Show. No matter where you listen, it's a good bet Sean was part of what got us there and we celebrate his existence daily-- especially on the annual event of his birth, which amazingly he shares with his son Mick who turns 1 today. If you know the Comptons, wish them a Happy Birthday.
OK on to less pleasant news but word of a great guest tonight. Ramos and Compean were not the first two agents maliciously prosecuted. The list is longer than you think. And it all comes back to one office. But the buck doesn't stop there. Maybe you've heard about the informant our government knew was killing people. A lot of them. And they looked the other way. The guy who blew the whistle was demoted. Those are a few of the dots. We'll connect them with Jerome Corsi tonight at 10 (ET) / 7 (PT). You've hopefully read a lot of his work, but if not, click here for his story on the latest border revelation (they way I see it, too bad it isn't revolution-- or maybe it is).
While I'm giving you links, go here for the Hit Parade Hall of Fame. The site is ready and your votes are welcome. John Rook did a wonderful job putting together a resource for ALL hit artists-- not just the ones the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame thinks are cool. (This all started when the folks in Cleveland decided to rewrite rock and roll history by not including Pat Boone. Say what you will about his music, you can't deny Pat's impact and role back then. Well, educated unbiased people can't. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame can. In thinking it over, there were many wonderful artists not recognized, including the entire genre of pop vocalists who existed in the time between the big bands and rock and roll. Names like Jo Stafford, Frankie Laine, Joni James should bring back lots of memories is you've got a few years to your credit. So John created a place to honor them, currently in cyberspace but soon in a brick and mortar location. And now you get to vote for all of your favorites. So check it out!
SUNDAY MARCH 4, 2007 11:00 PM (MT) Every reasonable person thinks the abuse of a child is unconscionable, let alone illegal. Very few people actively engage in actions against children, fortunately. Laws that make viewing child pornography a crime are controversial at best. But who would think that the spam email you might get-- the stuff that you probably quickly delete-- would lead to your arrest for possessing and receiving kiddy porn. The logic of one appellate court will frighten you tomorrow night at 10 (ET) / 7 (PT). That it's the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals allowing for this might be a surprise, considering their ultra-liberal bent. Then again, maybe not. Hear all the details tomorrow night.
Apologies for the rerun this past Friday night. Depending on where you hear me, that might have been last week's trivia show or the ramblings of the previous night. Excessive winds threatened satellite receivers various locations, and after thinking about how many stations would be able to actually pick up a live show, we opted for the reruns everywhere. I would have preferred talking with you, but I spent my time working on our stream. The good news is I've found the problem. The bad news is I haven't yet done what I need to so you can actually receive the audio. (I know what has to be done, now I'm trying to figure out how to do it. I won't bore you with details. Oh how I envy shows with an IT staff.)
THURSDAY MARCH 1, 2007 Crime and illegal immigration are separate issues. (Say what?!) illegal immigrants are the cream of the crop. (I'd hate to see the bottom of the barrel.) The lazy ones stay home (well and law abiders too, but that's not lauded, it seems). The reality is crime is rising exponentially due to illegal immigration. And now it's crimes we're not expecting-- such as kidnapping for small sums of money. How this works, or how it didn't in Florida tonight at 10 (ET) / 7 (PT).
You wouldn't think of Donnie Brooks as an R&B act, but the one hit wonder (Mission Bell) was as accepted at El Monte Legion Stadium as were The Penguins, Little Julian Herrera or countless East LA soul legends. Brooks was a showman and he loved to perform. He might not have had more hits, but he had plenty of records-- and some darn good ones too. And now he's gone. Heart failure last Friday. He'd been living in Burbank (still married to the woman he wed in 1963), quietly since a car wreck a few years ago. Until then he was actively performing and promoting oldies shows as far bask as the '70s. It was 1971 when he played the role of Jesus Christ in a Christian rock opera at the Greek Theatre (Jim Backus was the Voice of God) that he actually found the Lord. Who would have thought he'd be backstage-- but then again, he's everywhere. Like Chickenman. Well sort of. We'll move away from blasphemy now and give you some useful info.
I'm always telling you to try on the Penetrator Lens from Spotters Shades, especially if you're a driver. Occasionally I'll get an email saying you've asked every TA and Petro you can find and no luck. I can understand that the guy or gal behind the counter has enough to do without passing on your request to the buyers, but that's no help when you can't find 'em, so let me give you some corporate contact info that might be helpful in reaching a buyer. Petro's main number is 915-779-4711 and here's a link to the feedback form on their website. TA's main number is 888-982-5528 and here's a link to their feedback form. Companies want to stock items that customers want to buy, so hopefully this will be a win-win deal if you've been frustrated at not seeing the Penetrator Lens before now. Oh and while I'm linking, here's a link to spotters-shades.com. They really are as good as I say, but you've got to look through them yourself to really know. So hopefully that might help.
Finally a pledge in writing-- three things will happen in March: 1. I'll clean up this site so it's easier to read. (What a mess it is now, and I apologize for that.) 2. I will mail out prizes (which I haven't done since (gulp) December 10th). 3. I will fix the stream so you can listen live online through this site. (I have a certain amount of trepidation promising that as I'm not sure why it doesn't work now, but hopefully it's not anything I can't figure out, or at least figure out who to call about.)
FEBRUARY 2007
WEDNESDAY FEBRUARY 28, 2007 1:30 AM (MT) If you told me that a union called The Chocolate Workers of America had a gripe, I'd figure it was about not getting to lick the pans. In part that may be true., considering those pans are about to be in Monterrey, Mexico. Ironic, in that chocolate started its long history in Mexico-- a history that involved trees and seeds. Hershey took it to marketing and manufacturing and now they're about to give it back. And not for the reason you think. How are own government sells us out, tonight at 10 (ET) / 7 (PT).
TUESDAY FEBRUARY 27, 2007 1:45 AM (PT) When we first heard about Ramos and Compean, we thought it was an isolated miscarriage of justice. Then we heard Gilmer Hernandez was awaiting sentencing for doing his job as a Texas cop. Then David Sipe's conviction was overturned-- after he lost everything and spent years in jail. Now it's the tale of former border agent Gary Brugman, another officer who has fallen victim to the federal government's malicious prosecution in the name of peace with Mexico. Betrayal and railroading tonight at 10 (ET) / 7 (PT).
We've got a lot of great listeners, and you hear a lot of them on the air. But if you're wondering who they are and what they're doing, always happy to share weblinks. This one comes from Shannon and Evan. Click here and see what they're doing.
THURSDAY FEBRUARY 22, 2007 11:20 PM (MT) Maybe you don't know a lot about some things, but I bet you know a little about a lot of things. And I'm guessing that there's some category you've aced-- you know everything about it. Did somebody say guessing? That's what I'm asking you to do. Take a stab at Trivia. I'll throw out some starter questions-- that no one in their right mind will know, but it will be fun to hear your guesses-- and you'll also have the opportunity to name your own category. Plus there are prizes! Tomorrow night at 10 (ET) / 7 (PT).
Online trivia player? Queestions are up (finally) under "She Said What" to your left.
If you're a trucker, I probably don't have to ask, 'want to know something about a weigh station?' John and his wife have put together a great site with info on over 1200 weigh stations, overweight info and a lot more. It's a real resource. Click here and check it out! Thinking about becoming a trucker? Sandy started a group dedicated to the education of new and prospective drivers. Want to know more? Click here!
THURSDAY FEBRUARY 22, 2007 3:00 AM (PT) We wonder what's going on at the border-- why patrolmen are being prosecuted. Now we know. Repeated proof that we weren't planning on any prosecution until Mexico intervened and demanded it. Of course that raises a much bigger "Why?" as in, 'Why on earth would we acquiesce?' And it's not just Ramos and Compean, or Gitmo Hernandez, or many more. And it's not with the blessing of local or even state law enforcement. It's the Feds, directly in opposition to everyone else. More pieces of an ugly puzzle tonight at 10 (ET) / 7 (PT).
TUESDAY FEBRUARY 20, 2007 12:30 AM (MT) Several municipalities have voted to make English the official language, and all have taken heat. But now a county in Eastern North Carolina takes it a step further and votes to be English Only. They've ordered all signs and written information in other languages at county offices to be removed. They say they'll comply with federal laws, but anything further it's English or else. We'll talk about why this is a good idea and who will be first to sue them over it tonight at 10 (ET)/7(PT).
MONDAY FEBRUARY 19, 2007 2:30 AM (PT) From the "it seemed like a good idea at the time" department, we bring you the ADA-- the American's with Disabilities Act. Most of us would agree that concessions for people with limitations-- who can't see, or hear, or have other physical, or even mental disabilities-- is the right thing to do. But most of us didn't realize we'd need to closely define who that covers. Or doesn't.. such as a disgruntled employee suing IBM for not recognizing and treating his addiction to surfing the internet. Details tonight at 10 (ET) / 7 (PT).
FRIDAY FEBRUARY 16, 2007 11:50 PM (PT) If you're eligible for online trivia, clidk on "She Said What" to your left adn gie it a go. Have a fine weekend. Talk to you Monday.
THURSDAY FEBRUARY 15, 2007 12:45 AM (PT) Those who are in favor of gun control think American citizens can't be trusted-- to shoot them, store them, you name it. They should turn their attention to the FBI-- especially on that "store them" part. The agency's latest report crows that they can only not account for 160 guns since the last survey. But that's not as troubling as the 3 to 4 laptops, including some with the ability to create FBI badges, that go missing monthly. Details tonight at 10 (ET) / 7 (PT)
WEDNESDAY FEBRUARY 14, 2007 2:15 AM (PT) Happy Valentine's Day. I hope it is anyway. It isn't for one German family. Here's the story: Think Americans have a hard time homeschooling their kids? At least it's not fully illegal-- yet. It is in Germany where the story of one homeschooled kid is emerging. First authorities removed her from her home and locked her in a psych ward for deprogramming. Now they've taken her to another location and refuse to inform the parents of her whereabouts. And you think the storm troopers are gone? This saga includes the involvement of the police, judges, courts and bureaucrats. Fascism continues tonight at 10 (ET) / 7 (PT).
TUESDAY FEBRUARY 13, 2007 12:45 AM (PT) Many Americans resent the way their social security number has been tied in to everything from driver's licenses to credit cards. The latter, it seems, are impossible to get without forking over that number. Credit, it's said is a privilege not a right and if you want that privilege you'll give the number that was never intended for that purpose originally. That's bad enough but old news. Now get this. Bank of America will give you one without your social security number-- if you're an illegal. More outrage tonight at 10 (ET) / 7 (PT).
MONDAY FEBRUARY 12, 2007 12:50 AM (CT) Government informers, by their very nature, are not of the highest moral calibre. Upstanding citizens don't have access to what they know. So our agencies allow a lot of latitude in what an informer may do. But would an agency actually allow an informer to kill people? And if they had prior knowledge wouldn't they stop it? And if it happened multiple times, wouldn't somebody blow the whistle. A true story of what's really going on in El Paso tonight at 10 (ET) / 7 (PT).
SATURDAY FEBRUARY 10, 2007 1:45 AM (PT) Trivia questions are up for those who qualify. Click on "She Said What" to your left and good luck. I'll be back before Monday's show to tell you what's going on. I'm amazed at it now, and you'll be stunned at it then. If you think Ramos & Compean are an isolated drama, wait until you hear this. 'Til then, have a fine weekend.
THURSDAY FEBRUARY 8, 2007 1:00 AM (PT) Texas grabs headlines for making vaccinations against a sexually transmitted virus compulsory for 11 year old girls even when parents object. But you're not hearing that 26 states are on board and you're not hearing why. Think mega political donations in various forms. You're also not hearing the right argument-- which has nothing to do with sex and everything to do with chronic illness. Think Gulf War Syndrome and get full details tonight at 10 (ET) / 7 (PT).
Like to listen to me online? Here's a couple things you might want to know. WBHP in Huntsville, AL streams the show in its entirety as soon as we're off the air each night (Mid.-3 AM CT). Click here for more info. And WKBN in Youngstown also weekdays Noon to 3. Click here for that. My thanks to both of them!
WEDNESDAY FEBRUARY 7, 2007 1:30 AM (PT) What happens if you lie to congress? Nothing if you're DHS misleading lawmakers about Ramos and Compean. What happens if you withhold evidence? Nothing if you're DHS hiding proof that exonerates Compean. What happens if you withhold evidence favoring Ramos? Nothing if you're the prosecutor. There's more. But what happens is you can no longer say you believe in the US justice system. We'll talk about you can do about it tonight at 10 (ET) / 7 (PT).
TUESDAY FEBRUARY 6, 2007 12:01 AM (MT) It's bad enough that that border patrol agent Ramos was railroaded and convicted for doing his job. It's worse he was sent to jail, shackled in solitary confinement, but now we learn he was moved-- to the general population of a medium security prison where he's been badly beaten and has been left alone with no medical attention and every promise about his safety violated. We'll give you the latest on this shameful atrocity tonight at 10, right after we talk with Bob Haworth. The former Kingston Trio member has released "Can You Get Me In" -- a fine tune about our border mess. You can find out more at www.bobhaworth.com and you'll hear it tonight.
We'll also continue to take your calls on the best pickup line you've used or heard. Winners will receive PajamaGrams-- the best way to get a woman out of her clothes. Call us tonight at 610-640-6400 or 888-876-5593. And if you're looking for a great Valentine's Day gift, look no further than PajamaGram.com --it beats going through the lingerie department, it's better than online stores in a plain brown wrapper. It's a whole production-- hatbox and more. And don't forget about VermontTeddyBear.com, with hundreds of bears that are a marvelous alternative to flowers-- she'll be amazed at your creativity and she'll keep it forever. But if you've got a real traditionalist on your hands who expects nothing but roses, check out LuxuryRoses.com for some really over the top bouquets. Don't forget, it's a week from tomorrow guys. The best part is you can accomplish something out of the ordinary in just a few minutes. (And ladies-- guys like to get stuff too. Impress them \with your originality!)
SUNDAY FEBRUARY 4, 2007 9:00 PM (MT). Got a quiz for you: Identify this speaker: He feels the republicans have shot him in the back on immigration. He wants to make sure that the opportunity the US has to legalize all the illegal Mexicans now doesn't pass without getting it done. He's worried about global warming. He'd like to stop the growing economic inequality of Americans. He wants to increase spending on education and AIDS. He says Iraq is not going well. He's warmly welcomed at the democratic retreat. Got a guess? Well if it doesn't include George W. Bush, guess again. Details Monday night at 10 (ET) / 7 (PT).
FRIDAY FEBRUARY 2, 2007 11:50 PM (PT) Trivia questions are up under "She Said What" for those who qualify. I've finally caught up on email-- hopefully I'll do something with the dreadful shape of this homepage next. And then it's on to revitalizing the stream. I promise to make that February's mission. Thanks for your patience. I'll be back at the end of the weekend to tell you what's on tap for Monday.
THURSDAY FEBRUARY 1, 2007 10:00 PM (PT) We had Larry Pratt of GOA on earlier. If you're at all concerned about your right to bear arms, and considering the anti-gun lobby you should be!, you need to check out gunowners.org. Click on it, it's the official site of Gun Owners of America, and if you're not a member please consider joining.
THURSDAY FEBRUARY 1, 2007 2:10 AM (PT) Many of us were alarmed when foreigners bought the Indiana toll road. But it's the first of many as states line up to sell off our infrastructure. It's a little different in Texas though where citizens are outraged at the possibility of eminent domain over the planned Trans Texas Corridor. But they may not read about it in the paper anymore because the foreign company vying to own that road just bought the 40 local newspapers most complaining about it. Disturbing details tonight at 10 (ET) / 7 (PT). One thing we know, they won't be buying congress. They sold out long ago.
JANUARY 2007
WEDNESDAY JANUARY 31, 2007 12:01 AM (MT) Most scientists will tell you that what someone believes is of no consequence. The only relevance is what they know. Rationally speaking that's true. Any investigation of fact relies on what is known. But today it increasingly matters what someone believes when their acting on those beliefs is causing harm to others. And beliefs are by no means confined to religion. Huamnists can be just as biased in their world view, when everything they think is not backed up by fact. A informative conversation with Dr. Sheldon Gottlieb tonight at 10 (ET) / 7 (PT). Shelly has written "The Naked Mind" recounting his direct experience with the belief phenomenon. The conversation will probably leave you disquieted. If you'd like to get his book, or find out more about him, click here.
I hope to have a link for Shelly's book before the show, but while I'm thinking of links, let me give you a few. Wanna see "Immigration by the Numbers"? Here's a link to it. Roy Black of Numbers USA put it together. It's a video you'll want to watch, share, and maybe watch again. Check it out. And for something just fun, Silly Barb who listens to the show in Tennessee has put together a nice site here. Good links too. I'll have more soon. I'm slogging through a year of email and much is surfacing. Thanks for your patience.
TUESDAY JANUARY 30, 2007 1:45 AM (MT) If Congress wanted to enact something as draconian as a national ID card, you'd think they have to debate it, take comments, vote on it. Of course that wasn't necessary when they thought they found the perfect work around. Just create the 50 state driver's license compact known as the Real ID Act. That way no one would notice we had a national ID. Fortunately states noticed. Even more effective than public outcry, is Maine's 'just say no'. You'll love these details tonight at 10 (ET) / 7 (PT).
MONDAY JANUARY 29, 2007 3:00 AM (MT) Mom always told you to wear clean underwear. She was concerned what they'd say in the emergency room if you were hit by a bus or something. Little did she realize that her admonition had much further reaching implications-- at least in Great Britain, the surveillance camera capital of the world. Now they want X ray cameras-- like they use on your luggage at the airport-- on light posts to be used on... you. Bigger brother tonight at 10 (ET) / 7 (PT).
Trivia questions are up under "She Said What" to your left. See if you qualify, and good luck.
Valentine's Day is just around the corner-- perfect time for a Vermont Teddy Bear, a no-brainer gift that takes seconds to order and will make your sweetie think you went to a lot of trouble to come up with something special. you can check them all out at VermontTeddyBear.com or call a friendly bear counselor at 800-829-BEAR. Or of course you can win "Let's Get Naked Bear" for your best stories about being nude in public. We assume this was inadvertent. We're not looking for additions to the sex registry. We're taking your stories through the end of Wednesday's show, so listen tonight to find out more. And yes, I promise to share a few of my 'I've been nude in public' stories, in case you haven't heard them before. Sadly, there are multiple instances.
THURSDAY JANUARY 25, 2007 12:40 AM (MT) Anyone going in for surgery expects to undergo several tests beforehand. And if that surgery happens to be for weight reduction, like stomach stapling, it's not inappropriate that one of those tests be a psychological evaluation. But a big insurance company in Tennessee has taken it a step further. They're requiring an IQ test. And their defending it. Like perhaps someone is too dumb to be thin? Oh it's not that, they say. Find out what it is, tonight at 10 (ET) / 7 (PT).
WEDNESDAY JANUARY 24, 2007 3:30 AM (PT) Imagine being the wife of a border patrolman who is shackled in solitary confinement for trying to protect our borders and imagine being in Washington to hear the president speak. As he talks of how he wants to secure the borders, you know it's hypocrisy. Or imagine being a Minuteman, giving of your time and energy to help border patrol by peacefully pointing out illegals they've missed only to face an Arizona lawmaker trying to pass a law declaring you a domestic terrorist. Now you've got the real state of the union. Hear it tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT in full detail as we talk with Al Garza of the Minutemen.
TUESDAY JANUARY 23, 2007 12:10 AM (MT) Common law has always supported a citizens arrest. That doesn't mean vigilante justice, just that the private citizen witnessing a crime can, if not stop it, at least report it. Law enforcement used to be thankful. Now in Arizona they want to make such reports criminal. A proposed laws says anyone patrolling for illegals who is armed with any weapon, will be punished with mandatory jail time. So even if a MInuteman is peacefully reporting an incursion, he goes to jail. That's real terror and we'll talk about it tonight at 10 (ET) / 7 (PT). That's right after the State Of The Union address, which is expected to be unworthy of discussion (not a comment on this one specifically, but all in general). That said, we'll probably have a few things to say about it anyway. Til then...
MONDAY JANUARY 22, 2007 11:00 PM (PT) Imagine feeling sick one day, thinking it's the flu, only to wake up later in a hospital without any limbs? That's the very short version of what happened to trucker John Lee. An undiagnosed kidney problem and resulting blood infection led to the removal of first his legs, then his arms. Frankly most of us would have checked out. And John only had a 1% survival rate. But he's made it. And now he can use your help. His first surgery occurred a day before his medical insurance was to start. He's in danger of losing his home over medical bills, but even assuming he can clear that up, he's got a long and costly rehabilitation in front of him. (And sadly, the best prosthetics are usually not covered by any insurance and tremendously expensive.)
He's the kind of go-to guy that's always there for others, and now it's a chance for us to be there for him. If you're near Flint, there's a bolwing fundraiser at noon on February 3rd at Total Sports Bowling, 40501 Prodeuction Drive (that's I-94, exit 237) in Harrison Township. If you'd like to make a donation it's" Lapeer County Community Credit Union, 337 E. 1st Street, Imlay City, MI 48444. John is currently in Hurley's burn unit where they are dealing with tissue and skin problems. That's Hurley Medical Center, One Hurley Plaza, Flint, Michigan 48503. (I don't suggest visiting, but a card of support might be nice.) I don't know about you, but for me, I would never have even thought about sticking around to recover from this. Death would have been my only choice. Maybe tht's the coward's way out, but it's the only decision I could have made. John, on the other hand, is facing it with humor and determination. That kind of courage defines a very special person deserving of our support.
MONDAY JANUARY 22, 2007 12:10 AM (PT) If you've dreamed of being on television, you've probably thought of Hollywood and glamour. But now all you have to do is go to Great Britain and you're guaranteed to be on TV-- surveillance television. Despite denials, the evidence is in and Britain wants to lead the world in surveillance. In addition to cameras everywhere and DNA databases is the news we've been expecting-- the RFID chipping of citizens. It always starts with folks on the fringe, and the plan in England is to chip the mentally challenged. Let's define that, tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT. Oh and if you're eligible for online trivia, a couple questions are up for you under "She Said What" to your left.
FRIDAY JANUARY 19, 2007 12:20 AM (CT) Ever wonder who is buying the stuff they're selling on TV and why? You might be surprised to learn it has less to do with what's being sold than how it's being sold. Steve Bryant, the all time top seller at QVC reveals all the tricks-- and a hilarious handful of disasters, his and others, in his new book "Selling The Way America Buys" and he joins me tonight at 10 (ET) / 7 (PT). That's right before a couple fine hours of trivia-- where you can answer any question you want-- sort of. Want a copy of Steve's book for yourself? Check out his website for ordering info and a lot more, here at www.stevebryant.tv!
THURSDAY AUGUST 18, 2007 12:30 AM (MT) Some congressmen have suggested the return of the Fairness Doctrine, stopping talk radio from commenting on politics without allowing for alternate views. But the senate has taken it a step further. They've found a way to stop broadcasters, or anyone possibly influencing voters, from commenting about the political process at all. Is this intentional, or just bad wording in a current bill? It won't matter if it passes. Find out what they've proposed and what you can do about it tonight at 10 (ET) / 7 (PT).
WEDNESDAY JANUARY 17, 2007 1:01 AM (MT) So you think we're safer with TSA airport screenings. Did you know that 3,700 official TSA uniforms and badges have been stolen in the past three years? Did you know they haven't been recovered, we don't have a clue who has them, and wearing them is an instant ticket to clearance from any security? The TSA general manager says the system is far from flawed. How bad would it have to get to be close to flawed? Full details tonight at 10 (ET) / 7 (PT).
TUESDAY JANUARY 16, 2007 1:35 AM (PT) 'What you thought you heard is not what I thought I said.' That sums a standard miscommunication, often punctuated by laughs-- or at worst, bad feelings. However, when it comes to the legislature, if what they thought they passed, turns out to be far from what they actually wrote, nobody laughs-- well except perhaps in Michigan where it turns out the Attorney General may be up for life in prison for adultery. You gotta hear this tonight at 10 (ET) / 7 (PT).
Don't forget, we're only about 24 hours away from the imprisonment of Border Patrol agents Ramos and Compean. They're being sent away for 11 and 12 years each, for what amounts to doing their job. And the illegal immigrant drug dealer who is the reason for these charges, got total immunity (800 pounds of marijuana in his truck that time-- and there were other times), free medical care and more. We won't stop talking about this.
SUNDAY JANUARY 14, 2007 8:00 PM (PT)Americans have long taken comfort that thanks to Posse Comitatus, our military can't engage in activities against our private citizens for any reason. And we are further assured that the CIA is not permitted to spy on Americans in any case. Unfortunately, those of us so placated were wrong. The Pentagon does indeed pry into the private affairs of Americans-- and so does the CIA. Find out what they're doing, why and how-- and what's wrong with it Monday night at 10 (ET) / 7 (PT).
FRIDAY JANUARY 12, 2007 10:58 PM (PT) If you qualify for online trivia, click on "She Said What" to your left and good luck. Have a good weekend. Talk to you live Monday at 10 (ET).
THURSDAY JANUARY 11, 2007 1:45 AM (ET) Should Karl Marx be taken seriously? Considering 100 million dead in various gulags, that would be a quick no, but instead, "Taking Marx Seriously" is a three credit course at Amherst College. Occidental in LA, at $32,800 per year, offers "The Phallus" including the history of the Jewish Phallus, the Lesbian Phallus (an Oxymoron at Occidental if I've ever heard one) and a course called "Blackness", the prerequisite of which is passing "Whiteness". American Universities, the worst education money can buy tonight at 10 (ET) / 7 (PT).
WEDNESDAY JANUARY 10, 2007 2:45 (ET) Hear about the guy arrested for not paying child support, to a woman he's never seen for a kid he never fathered? Today the punchline is "Which one?" It's happening more frequently than you know. They say "It's for the children" but child support has nothing to do with supporting your kids. A documentary film maker joins me tonight to talk about the federalization of a national disgrace. Hear Angelo Lobo, producer of "Support System Down" tonight at 10 (ET) / 7 (PT). Check out the movie trailers here! And find out more about a support group to help you, should you be embroiled in this mess here.
TUESDAY JANUARY 9, 2007 1:30 AM (ET) If you think the average Middle East citizen is moderate and mainstream, you would have been right 40 years ago. Now? You'd be shocked at how the man on the street really feels. And if you think that Middle Eastern School children are taught love and tolerance, you'll be shocked to know it's absolute indoctrination including the mandatory hatred of Jews. Don't believe it? Hear it from an Egyptian woman who's lived it tonight at 10 (ET) / 7 (PT). She's Nonie Darwish and her book "Now They Call Me Infidel" is nothing short of spell binding. You can get a copy at a great price delivered to your door by clicking here.
We're sending listener Christine to Pizza Patron for a food review. She'll pay in dollars, the Peso exchange rate is not that favorable. Hopefully she'll have an update soon. We'll also keep you posted on whether we find out if those truck drivers over which the Port of Miami was closed, actually possessed CDL's, or the name of the company in Dearborn Michigan for which they claim to work. Lots still unrevealed on that one, not to mention the number of questionable incidents over the weekend. Trial run, or conspiratorial paranoia. While I'd prefer the latter, I suspect the former. Wanted to mention another listener-- and his website: www.drivers4america.net. It's great to see someone interested in doing anything to restore our liberty, so check it out. Talk to you tonight!
MONDAY JANUARY 8, 2007 12:10 AM (ET) HAPPY BIRTHDAY VAL SHIVELY! The world's greatest collector of R&B vinyl (5 million 45s under one roof, all for sale) celebrates today-- and obscure soul and group harmony collectors celebrate with him. Long live Val. End of good news. I've got all sorts of things to tell you, like the 'first baby of the year' contest from one retailer, where expectant mother's entered a sweepstakes with the winner being decided by the stork. The mom of the first born child of 2007 would win $25,000. Well, keeping with our theme of who is in this country giving birth, you know what's coming... the child's mother is not a legal resident. I'm being kind here. We'll tell you a story that might have you wanting to shop somewhere else for toys-- a retailer who first did the right thing and then bowed to political correctness pressure-- or maybe it was because their newest location was in Mama's homeland. And while we're suggesting buying, you might want rethink what you eat. Let me put it another way: What do you know about money? Our money? The US dollar? You know you can't deface it. You know you can't start up your own currency-- that gets you a visit from the Secret Service. But what about accepting foreign money as legal tender in the US? Border merchants have done it for years-- acceptance of Canadian dollars on our Northern border is not uncommon, for instance. But what happens when a merchant, hundreds of miles from the border, starts accepting Mexican Pesos? Is that even legal? We're about to find out as one Pizza chain is already doing it. Details tonight at 10 ET / 7 PT.
You've asked, I've delivered. Not sure I can make this a New Year's resolution, but I'll try to keep it up-- trivia questions for folks who don't hear the show live are posted under "She Said What" to your left. Good luck!
THURSDAY JANUARY 4, 2007 9:00 PM (PT) We're talking to Charlotte Thomson Isserbyt right now. In addition to The Deliberate Dumbing Down of America (click here)you really need to check out www.americandeception.com --great information including the entire transcripts of the real plans for American Education. Click here and weep.
THURSDAY JANUARY 4, 2007 4:10 AM (PT) You see how dumb the average high school grad is today and you say to yourself, there's got to be a plan to dumb down Americans. But you can't really believe it. It must be something else unintended. Oh no its not and we've got proof. There's been much written about the dumbing down of education since the Prussians but now an insider-- a former Senior Policy Advisor in the US department of Education will unveil the plan. In full detail. It's Charlotte Thomson Iserbyt and she joins me to explain how it's not accidental or benign, tonight at 10 (ET) / 7 (PT). If you'd like to read her book "The Deliberate Dumbing Down Of America" you can download it absolutely free. But beware, it's close to 400 pages. Have a lot of paper ready-- it's worth it. Find it here.
Got another link for ya. If you've heard me talk to Larry Nichols in the past, you know he knows more than any insider. Way back when Clinton was running for President (Bill not the Hildebeast), he broke the Gennifer Flowers story. He alluded to the whole Mark Foley scandal before most of us knew who Mark Foley was. And now he's ready to tell all, as he's promised (or threatened, depending on how you look at it). But you've got to hear it first hand on his own website. Check him out at www.larrynichols.com.
WEDNESDAY JANUARY 3, 2007 1:15 AM (PT) The end of the year always comes with lots of retrospectives. Most news outlets recall the biggest stories of the year. They'd serve you better by announcing the big stories they didn't cover in the first place-- or alloted two seconds for at the end of a little heard newscast. You know the ones-- in fact world net daily asked for your top unheard tales-- and you told 'em: the real toll of illegal immigration, the true plans for the North American Union, what Sandy Berger really took in classified documents and more. Hear them all tonight at 10 (ET) / 7 (PT).
TUESDAY JANUARY 2, 2007 12:01 AM (PT) So here it is the New Year, and two of my resolutions are to get the stream back up (keep watching this space for details) and to fix the spacing on this homepage. I promise not to break either of them. Until then thanks for putting up with what's got to be hard to read. We started to talk about this last night (when we addressed the Mexican government providing free hand held GPS devices to citizens who register their intent to invade our country), but we'll get into full details tonight-- bottom line, what else are we giving to illegal immigrants? Unfortunately it's not rhetorical this time. If they're Mexican, you can add Social Security to the list of entitlelments. Millions of illegals drawing billions of payments from the fund we're told is going broke. Needless to say, the Social Security Administration didn't want to release the document that's now public. They fought it for years. But it's out now, and awaiting Bush's signature. Find out why this is different from mutual agreements with other countries and what you can do about it tonight at 10 (ET) / 7 (PT).
